Nairaland GeneralRe: 10 Stupid Questions You Seriously Need To Stop Asking by Ramos16(m): 3:11pm On Apr 19, 2017
ephi123:
How was your night, loooool. It's a "Nigerian" question. cheesy
Exactly, how was your night? is a Nigerian question, there are certain words and phrases that are offensive to some people in a culture and are less offensive or not at all offensive to other cultures, for instance saying "your father" in Nigeria is offensive, if you said the word "Ben" around Mandarin speakers the will probably be offended because it means stupid, when someone in Europe says "I will Knock you up in the morning" it simply means they are going to wake you up, to an American listener it means a whole different things.

I think we should start to understand that the meaning of most of these phrases is cultural, and it is language, as long as every single Nigerian understand what you mean and you are not violating any English rules, I guess it is okay

The day the timing mechanism fails mid air embarassed
I don't think the timing machine can fail mid air, even if it does I don't think it will pose any danger as long as the blades keep spinning at the same speed. Also, if it actually makes use of any timer at all then it will only need it at start up.

See guys, to be frank with you divorce is still an option, don't die in a relationship because you are afraid of what people will say, divorce and move on if it can't work, you owe yourself happiness don't expect it from no one.

"lynched" in the north ?? .....
I am from the north, I have spent almost all my life in the north, and yes there has been lots of lynching from where I come from, and it is the second most popular place in Kaduna, I have heard of lynching even in the most popular places, I have seen people's heads being separated from their necks the way we won't even do to a chicken being prepared for a festival. I have experienced and been in the middle of at least 5 religious crisis. The North is the Devilish Angel, it has its good sides, but tolerance for other religion and ethnic groups isn't one of them.

PassingShot:
Happy days are ahead of us.

With the news, the worst of our economic woes are behind us.

Kudos to the government for floating the Naira rather than devaluing it. A first in the history of Nigeria.

*Modified*

Some ignorant mourning wailers are saying floating the naira is same as devaluing it. Hell NO!

If you devalue the Naira, you fix an official exchange rate to it. E.g N250 to a dollar. With that approach, the black market rate will jump to beyond N400 to a dollar.

But with floating, many traders with high volume of dollars come in and trade dollars based on demand. In this approach, there is no official dollar rate set by the government. The rate is purely determined by how much dollars are demanded and how much dollars are available. This way, the Naira finds its true value.
Then you will see that the true value of the Naira is 1 dollars to 800 naira

They are not rare, Infact all ladies can do it, they are just scared of rejection
We guys ask you girls out everyday and as a matter of fact it is in your policy that you have to reject the first approach, but do you see us saying we fear rejection, I think girls just like to feel like the important one, it is not the case for fear of rejection

TonyeBarcanista:
Well, it is against the right of wearers of hijab to ban their veil. It is an established fact that the hijab is worn through the personal choice of the wearer even if it is religiously influenced. As such, it falls under the right to personal liberty. Hijab can't be banned except the government can prove that their is a correlation between Hijab and suicide bombing...this will be pretty difficult.
you just said a whole lot of bleeping rubbish..... If the government can ban you from giving birth to more than 1 kid, what will stop them from making you not wear a particular clothing. Anything can be banned, even you can be banned.

What do you intend to gain from using cuss words on a fellow woman like you? Please don't judge her at least not yet.

@Op I took the time to read all you posted and I can't help but notice how the guy is so immature and your wife too. Please first let go of any thought of divorce in your head as what you have now are just assumptions.

She's your wife and you've been with her for 10years so you should know how to get the truth from her and I'll say you should use love not anger. Ask her questions like if she isn't satisfied with you or where you've missed it or something,.make it seem like the fault is coming from you even though its not and she'll most likely be comfortable and she'll begin to open up. Be ready to forgive no matter how bitter it turns out at least for the sake of your children.

Make sure she deletes and block those guys and try to resolve whatsoever reason she'll give.

Lalasticlala help this guy get good advice.
What kind of poo have you been smoking? you think a woman like that has any interest in the marriage she currently is in. She is gone for good, there is no redemption for people like this, the @op has caught her several times and she denies, for a person with conscience fear will develop and make them not do it again, but this woman has a heart of stone and I can already tell the kind of person she is.

Never the less, @op make your choice wisely. For me Christian no Christian, I am going to divorce her,

wat does it mean?
That seems to be the unit test failing, are you writing unit test? if yes, you might want to take a look at it, but if you are not writing unit test it means that the application test is breaking, maybe a bug or the way your script is structured.

naah, not an African culture, its actually a culture imported to Nigeria from Saudi Arabia by Bayajidda, sorry to bust your bubbles man, the real culture involves only horse riding by soldiers and the king now Emire, which is still done, and before Bayajidda women were allowed to be rulers, as a matter of fact he [Bayajidda] married a female ruler named Daura Mashawata in Daura.

You have issues, all this ladies have issues, including the op, especially point 1, what does having money have to do with anything, so a man is supposed to have money for the girl to spend, I hate girls with such mindset, and avoid them like a plague.

Point to guys:

1. If your lady thinks you should have money for her to spend, she is not worthy of your love, move on.
