CrimeGhana Police Shoots Nigerian, Mob Attacks Police Station by RandomAfrican1(op): 4:46pm On Jul 18, 2020

An angry mob has besieged the Gomoa Buduburam Police Station in the Central Region of Ghana, after a Nigerian was shot to death by a member of the Ghana Police Force.

According to a report by Adom News, the Nigerian community in the area stormed the police station to seek answers as to why the man they knew as Precious was shot and killed.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/ghana-police-shoots-nigerian-mob-attacks-police-station/

According to the deceased’s wife who is also a nursing mother, Precious had come to see her hours before the incident at a hotel where they were lodging, to inform her of someone who had threatened to take kill him.

She said they then left the hotel to go to their home as her husband was anxious about the threat from this person.

She said they made a detour on their way to a friend’s house, and this is where an incident happened, as her husband was heard screaming out for help because his assailant seemed to be close on his tail. The shout prompted the neighbours and people in the vicinity to gather according to her, and it appeared that the assailant fled at this.

She adds that her husband then decided to go after the trail of his assailant but he took a lot of time on this mission and was not returning.

She says she later received a phone call where someone told her that her husband had been admitted at the hospital after sustaining a knife injury.

She then hurriedly went to the said hospital where she was being prevented from seeing her husband. “When I insisted that I wanted to go see him they said no and locked me in the room,” she said.

“I later realised the police have shot and killed my husband. He has opened a shop for me here and people around know him very well…he is hardworking and does not steal so I don’t know why he was killed,” the mother of a five-week old baby added.

It was at this point that the mob besieged the police station to demand answers for the death of Precious. Some of them threw stones at the building whiles others chanted.

The Police had to call in for backup to restore calm to the station and its surrounding areas.
PoliticsGov. Wike Stops Arrest Of Dr. Joi Nunieh by RandomAfrican1(op): 1:41pm On Jul 16, 2020

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has personally stepped in to stop the arrest of former boss of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Joi Nunieh.

There is ongoing drama at the NDDC where Dr. Nunieh is being accused of some misappropriation during her time as head of the institution. This incursion into the former head of the organisation seems to be spearheaded by the current Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio.

It then appears that in continuation of the saga, security forces had gone to Joi Nunieh’s house this morning to effect her arrest, and this is when Governor Wike personally arrived at the scene to rescue her to the River State Government House.

CelebritiesHushpuppi Denied Bail Application by RandomAfrican1(op): 9:41am On Jul 15, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Hushpuppi.png
Alleged Nigerian cyber fraudster, Ramon Abbas, known online as “Hushpuppi” and “The Billionaire Gucci Master” was denied bail during a hearing on Monday in Chicago. He was told by the judge that he will remain in custody until his trial later this year over money laundering and other criminal offences allegations.

At a detention hearing, the court in its ruling added that Abbas will be transported to Los Angeles by the U.S. Marshals Service, and will that he will not be allowed to stay with his girlfriend’s uncle in Homewood, Illinois. His trial is to be heard in Los Angeles, California where the case was filed. The investigations were however initially being handled in Chicago.

Abbas’ lawyer denied that his client was a flight risk or a danger to the community, all through the hearing. He repeatedly interjected and rejected the allegations made against his client by the FBI’s affidavit posted earlier this month. But as it appeared, he was unable to convince the courts.

The FBI’s primary charge against Hushpuppi is that he was part of a network that made “hundreds of millions of dollars” from corporate email cloning and hacking frauds and other scams.

The courts were consistently persuaded by the Assistant United States Attorney, Melody Wells, a prosecutor in the Chicago district attorney’s office, that Abbas is a flight risk. The Attorney further referred to his “significant” financial assets, and deep ties to foreign countries” adding to his lack of strong ties to the United States. Wells said that all of these gave Abbas the needed recipe to flee from the charges levelled against him.

Ramon Abbas via his lawyer’s submission was seeking to live with a girlfriend’s relative in Illinois, but this was queried by the prosecutor, arguing that Mr. Abbas had up to this point of his arrest “never visited” the girlfriend or their child in the United States. Wells said that: “There is no evidence that he has ever even met this ‘uncle,’ who would be the third-party custodian under these circumstances.”

In the court’s ruling, it said that there was more than enough justification to see to it that the U.S. Marshall takes Hushpuppi to California as soon as possible to answer for the cases against him there. The court said in its ruling that that the accused had “a great incentive not to continue to respond to these proceedings here,” as he is “facing a long sentence.”

The court also acknowledged the risks that in addition to holding passports to other countries (Saint Kitts and Nevis), Hushpuppi has access to a lot of assets and ready cash. This is evidenced by his lavish lifestyle, including being able to pay $10,000 a month as rent for his apartment in Dubai, as such he was denied bail and would rather continue his case under detainment.

Foreign AffairsIvory Coast’s Vice President Resigns by RandomAfrican1(op): 6:20am On Jul 14, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Daniel-Kablan-Duncan-720x445.jpg
It is reported that the Vice President f the West African Nation of Ivory Coast, Daniel Kablan Duncan, got his application for resignation finally accepted by the President, Mr. Alassane Ouattara, a few hours ago after months of tendering in the first application for resignation.

This is coming barely a week after the passing of the country’s Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly.

The Presidency said that Duncan had handed his resignation to the president on personal grounds on the 27th of February. This is according to a statement on Monday read by chief of staff Patrick Achi.

“After several conversations, the latest of which took place on July 7, the president accepted (it) and on July 8 signed the decree ending Mr Kablan Duncan’s duties.”

The rumours of the 77 year old Duncan stepping down had been circulating for days before this final confirmation.

Mr. Duncan is a veteran figure in Ivorian politics having served as foreign minister from 2011 to 2012, he then took up the mantle as prime minister in charge of economy and finance from 2012 to 2017.

He became the first Vice President in the country’s history in January 2017, when he took up the portfolio of Vice Presidency which had been created under a the new constitutional reform of 2016.

President Ouattara in a statement said that, “I would like to pay tribute to a great servant of the state, a man of power and commitment.”

Mr. Duncan’s depature was annunced just a few days after the shocking demise of the Ivorian Prime Minister, Amadou Coulibaly, who passed on July 8.

Coulibaly had been the President’s anointed choice for the upcoming elections in October.

The late Prime Minister who was 67 had returned to Ivory Coast from France where he had spent about two months for coronary stent treatment to help with his heart condition.

The West African nation is blessed with a lot of resources being one of the world’s leading producers of coffee and cocoa.

Alassane Ouattara in 2011 ousted the country’s then President, Laurent Gbagbo, who refused to leave office after allegedly the losing elections. Some 3,000 people were killed in the months-long election related violence.

CelebritiesDon Jazzy Features On Mr. Macaroni’s Skit by RandomAfrican1(op): 5:13pm On Jul 12, 2020

Nigerian mega producer, Don Jazzy, has featured on popular comedian Mr. Macaroni‘s skit.

Mr. Macaroni currently has an ongoing skit series where his ‘skit daughter,’ Motunde, has been trying to get an appropriate suitor for her dad to approve, and in this particular episode, Don Jazzy was the prospective suitor.

It is quite impressive how far Mr. Macaroni has come in the entertainment space considering that just a few years ago, he was “internet begging” on Jazzy’s twitter and was even at a time a beneficiary of the music producer’s benevolence.

Today, the mighty Don Jazzy now features in Mr. Macaroni’s skit and he is even known to promote the comedian’s works from time to time.

CelebritiesSarkodie And Shatta Wale Squash Their Beef by RandomAfrican1(op): 4:25pm On Jul 10, 2020

Today July 10th is Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie‘s birthday and this as usual has gotten GH social media flooded with best wishes for the rap god.

The twitter trends for Ghana for instance has been full of trending hashtags for the rapper and Tema icon.

Sarkodie himself was on Accra based radio station Hitz 103.5 FM earlier today where he was hosted by media and entertainment industry veteran, Andy Dosty. It was during the show that dance hall artist, Shatta Wale, called in to wish his long time rival a “happy birthday.”

The two who were known to be the best of friends in the industry, circa 2013 up until 2018, fell out due to issues which are still yet to become clear and disclosed to the public.

They have been known to throw jabs at each other via interviews and songs over the last two years, as such this new move on Sarkodie’s birthday has come as a surprise to many.

The fan base of both artists, i.e. Shatta Movement and Sarknatives have welcomed the newly restored cordiality that seems to be brewing between the two.

In the conversation which ensued between both artists, they are observed to be joking just like long time friends do… it was all round a refreshing moment.

Even GH Twitter Queen, Nungua Cardi B, who is a known avowed Shatta supporter twitted a video of the two artists and tagged it “Two Kings.”

Some fans of the two still remain sceptical as the likes of @ThoughtPillow a staunch “Sarknative” is still yet to bother with today’s “bromance” and has instead kept to posting about his favourite artist’s (Sarkodie) birthday.

Now that the beef is over, are we to expect a Shatta-Sark collaboration?

EducationKenyan Schools Will Remain Closed Until 2021 by RandomAfrican1(op): 3:03pm On Jul 09, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Kenyan-Schools-800x445.jpg
The directive coming out is that all schools in Kenya will remain closed until January 2021, because of the corona virus pandemic.

It is also reported that final year exams which are normally taken in October and November have been cancelled.

According to the Minister of Education, George Magoha, students are to repeat the year since schools closed pretty much earlier on in March.

Universities and other tertiary institutions are however supposed to re-open in September with strict measures and guidelines to be followed in order to ensure curtailing the spread of COVID.

Kenya currently has more than 8,000 confirmed corona virus cases of which 164 deaths have been recorded.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday announced a phased easing of current lock down measures, including the lifting of travel restrictions in the main cities of Nairobi and Mombasa. He however announced that the nationwide overnight curfew from 21:00 to 4:00 local time would be extended for an additional 30-days.

Kenya’s academic calendar usually starts in January and ends in November.

“The 2020 school calendar year will be considered lost due to Covid-19 restrictions,” Mr Magoha said.

He adds that this directive will apply to both private and public schools.

The government has been providing free school programmes via the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development on radio, television and online since students stopped going for classes in March.

The online channels have however been a challenge for some students who do not have the resources and access. The Minister of Education says that the government is currently exploring various avenues to make the virtual education channels accessible for all pupils.

The novel corona virus pandemic which broke out late last year has caused a lot of disruptions in almost all industries globally, and it appears that the world is still pretty much far away from finding a solution, or better yet, finding a way to live through it.

EducationGhana To Go Ahead With WAEC Exam Despite Nigeria’s Pull Out by RandomAfrican1(op): 2:43pm On Jul 09, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/WAEC.jpg
Ghana’s Deputy Director-General of Education Service, Mr. Kwabena Tandoh says that the country will go ahead with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scheduled for July 20, 2020, despite Nigeria pulling out.

His makes this comment following the news of the Federal Government of Nigeria rescinding their decision to open schools and calling off the WAEC administered examination due to health and safety concerns for students in the country.

Mr. Tandoh said this whiles speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express. He added that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) was yet to officially notify Ghana of a move by Nigeria to pull out of this year’s examinations.

He however said that WAEC’s member countries had come to an agreement to see to it that the exam takes place within the months of August and September.

“All of them had agreed we had communication to that effect. While it was proposed that it was Ghana that was going to write a Ghana Exam, all of our member countries in a response from WAEC to the Director General or to my Director General to the Honourable Minister was that all of our member countries, and ‘all of our member countries’ means our five countries had agreed to write the August/September exams.”

“We have not received any communication officially to the contrary and usually, we receive our communication from WAEC through official channels at the Ghana National Office and so if there is something in the news media we would at least wait for official communication. But as far as we are aware all member countries have agreed,” he said.

According to the Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), should WAEC confirm the report making rounds in the media about Nigeria pulling out of this year’s WASSCE, it would have little effect in changing the plans in Ghana or in other member countries.

Mr. Kwabena Tandoh recalls that earlier incidents such as the 2013 Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone and Liberia had not stopped other WAEC member countries – Nigeria inclusive – from participating in WASSCE examinations in that year.

“It doesn’t change anything. Nigeria is still one of five countries. There are five countries, they all have equal vote and so we have had instances for example in 2013 when we had the Ebola crisis,” the Deputy D-G of the GES said.

“The rest of the countries; when you have a majority of the countries say they’re going to write an exam, the rest of the countries go ahead, WAEC makes specific arrangements for countries that are unable to write and so I believe that if with Nigeria making that decision once we receive the communication it’s still not going to change a thing.”

In the mean time, the timetable for this year’s WASSCE, has already been submitted to the Ministry of Education. By the schedule, it is expected to begin on Monday, July 20, 2020, with Project Work for Visual Arts candidates, while the theory papers will start from August 3, 2020, until September 5, 2020, when the five-week-long examination will be brought to an end with Principles of Cost Accounting and Technical Drawing.

Alleged Nigerian cyber fraud Kingpin, Hushpippi, has reportedly tested positive for the novel COVID-19 virus. This was disclosed by the self-acclaimed, well-informed and, well-connected journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, on her Instagram page.

As of April, as much as 600 inmates there had been recorded has being infected with COVID. It is believed that at this point, the number should be much higher due to the speed of spread which characterizes the virus.

CelebritiesBBNAIJA: Mike Supports Tacha As She Apologizes To All Housemates by RandomAfrican1(op): 1:59pm On Jul 08, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Mike-and-Tacha-1-751x445.jpg
Mike Edwards, former Big Brother Naija house mate, ‘Pepper dem gang,’ has tweeted in support of Tacha after she spoke from the heart about her past and how it affected her stay in the Big Brother House.

The ongoing BBNaija Reunion has been nothing short of drama from the get-go. Yesterday’s show was one of different active players going against each other, from time to time.

One stand out one was when Tacha narrated that she grew up being insecure and not having confidence until her late mother dedicated time to work on her to ensure that she became the confident woman that she is today. She explains that due to some events in her past, she has had time trusting people and letting them in, and this was what played out in her coming off as hostile to other housemates during the show. Prior to this however, she had had a tense moment with Tuoyo and calling him out for saying she derived her confidence from the use of “Black Magic.”

The Titans Queen later on then took the opportunity to apologise to all housemates for her brashness during the reality show, of which majority of the housemates that were there present accepted. After this, Mike Edwards, British born Nigerian, who was also on the main reality show but wasn’t present at yesterday’s reunion event, tweeted a heartfelt message in support of Tacha saying, “I love when @Symply_Tacha speaks from the heart. I respect that”

It seems that every one has now mended or patched up things with the “No leave, No Transfer” Queen now, and hopefully we look forward to greater collaborations going forward.

Elo and Diane
Elozonam and Diane were also not left out of yesterday’s drama as they kept on going and trading accusations against each other.

It was so intense that at a point Elo had to just blurt out that, Diane always liked to play the victim; this is actually an echo of what a good number of viewers are beginning to also say.

Ebuka asked if a particular incident which both Diane and Elo have been refusing to give details about, was the reason why they did not work out. Elo responded in the affirmative, and Diane retorted that, they would not have worked out anyway!

PoliticsIgbos Have No Reason To Leave Nigeria – Ohaneze by RandomAfrican1(op): 3:12pm On Jul 07, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Ohaneze.png
The Ohaneze Ndigbo which is an apex body of the Igbo socio-cultural group, has stated that the people of the South East region of Nigeria will not be living the country for nobody.

The group’s spokesperson, Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, said that the Igbos have been co-owners of Nigeria before and after independence and as such it made no sense for them to go anywhere, as reported by the Vanguard.

“How and why should we leave Nigeria and for who? For settlers or foreigners? No way. We partly own Nigeria and instead of leaving it, settlers and foreigners will leave it for us,” Ibegbu noted.

He went on to ask seperatist and pro-biafra agitators to cancel that dream of separation but but instead channel their energies into social, economic and structural justice for people of the South East region.

He added that what the Igbos have been clamouring for over the years is an equal playing field for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or ancestry.

Basil Onuorah, leader of the new group revealed that the group had already been registered at the corporate affairs commission and was ready to execute a mandate that sees to it that Igbos get their fair share in the Nigerian state.

CelebritiesBBNAIJA: Diane Cheated On Elozonam With Mawuli Gavor? by RandomAfrican1(op): 10:29am On Jul 07, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Diana-Elo-Mawuli-644x445.jpg

The latest episode of the ongoing ‘BBNAIJA Reunion’ was a blast as it appears that there were revelations that Diane had cheated on fellow housemate, Elozonam, with her long time celebrity crush, in the person of Ghanaian actor, Mawuli Gavor.

When Ebuka asked Elozonam what the state of his relationship with Diane was, he was at first hesitant as it seemed as though he was keeping something from being said.

It was however quite obvious that there was trouble in paradise due to the conversation that ensued. At a point Diane had to leave the room when Ebuka asked, “does this have anything to do with Mawuli?”

Diane later came back into the room and the conversation continued, which led to several moments of discomfort. At a point, Diane was sort of daring Elozonam to “man up and say it as it is with you chest…” and this is where Elozonam had to spill the beans about being left stranded after a party by one of the reality show’s sponsors.

Apparently Diane has been flirting with Mawuli Gavor (MG) after the Big Brother Naija show ended and they had gotten too close for concern.

What seemed to have broken the camel’s back for Elo was when at the party organized by one of the show’s sponsors, Diane refused to go back with him even though they had attended the party together. She instead chose to leave with Mawuli at a very late hour.

Travel7 Reasons To Visit Accra, Ghana After Corona by RandomAfrican1(op): 6:13am On Jul 07, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/accra-ghana.jpg

Ghana has been touted for so many things in recent times, notable of which are its relative peace and stability it largely enjoys coupled with freedoms by virtue of its practice of democracy, impressive economic growth, copious natural resources among others.

Today however, I intend to delve specifically into why you should visit the capital, Accra, which is located on the shores of the Atlantic ocean.

I understand that we are currently in abnormal times with the corona virus stifling movement and travels, and I know that travel-heads like myself are not finding it easy having to stay at one place for months on end. However, this might just be a much needed period of pause to reflect on where to visit next after this pandemic phase is over.

I am thereby by this article suggesting that you prepare to visit Accra soon after restrictions are lifted because it is just “lit” in that beautiful city.

And here is why;

Food
It is known by many that West Africans have endless delicacies of food, and Accra being practically at the centre of the sub-region means that it is a melting pot of all food types. Asides from the usual continental dishes, you will also find contemporary Chinese, Indian, Turkish and other meal types in various corners of the city.

Foods like Attieke, Eba, Amala e.t.c. from other neighbouring African countries are also readily available in many restaurant and food joints. And not to mention the obvious abundance of local Ghanaian dishes like Jollof rice, Waakye, Banku, Fufu among others.

The Tilapia fish meal in Accra is one you should never miss once you make a trip to that city. This tasty dish is usually eaten along side banku (made from fermented corn dough) with green and black pepper.

Culture
Even though Accra is a melting pot of various cultures and traditions, because of its status as the country’s capital, the Ga people who are ancestral residents of the city have lovely cultures and traditions to behold. Notable amongst this is the Homowo annual festival which takes place to celebrate fruitful harvest.

The celebration is usually led by the chiefs and family heads mostly in the Ga traditional areas of Ga Mashie, Teshie-Nungua, Tema Meridian and others. It is a period of drumming, dancing, food, art and merry-making. This is the time when the Ga people eat their special celebratory meal called Kpokpoi or Kpepele.

Fashion
Even though African fashion is known to be unique with bright and happy colours, the fashion in Accra has its own respledent signature to it. Accra fashion stands on its own, mixing modern global fashion sequence with traditional Ghanaian fabrics which is fused and inspired by pan-Africanism.

Fashion in Accra usually spots a dose of Kente design, even with the most modern of clothing, to deliberately make a “Made in Ghana” statement.

Asides from the ‘kente’ fabric, others make conspicuous or subtle addition of Ghanaian wax and tie and dye materials as an “Accra Fashion” statement to the world.

Beautiful People
Ghanaians in general are known to be hospitable people, and you are very likely to run into pleasant smiling people in the capital for the majority of your time there (this does not mean that you won’t get into contact with some quite unpleasant people – but you just might not).

Ghanaians usually wear a smile on their faces as they mostly have this belief in a popular local saying “fa ma Nyame,” which means “just give it all to God,” as such the Ghanaian has a high tendency to smile through pains and inconvenience, but…

Night Life & Parties
The night life in Accra is lit!

You might want to start from Oxford street in Osu, since the saying goes that “Oxford street never sleeps!”

Osu holds so many hangout spots… the likes of Epos, Purple Pub, Firefly, Republic Grill and Bar and many more.

Then you also want to look at circle around Paloma (especially Champs Sports Bar), Bus Stop and then go all the way down to Kokomlemle around Joy FM to the Boomerang Night club area.

Not to mention the any hangout spots in the Cantonment, Labone, Labadi triangular locus. I am unable to exhaust all of the great hangout places in the Ghanaian capital in just one article sub-category… I haven’t even started to mention East Legon and the larger Ga East enclave, which I find particularly interesting.

Beaches
There are no shortages of public and private beaches in Accra, after all, it is a coastal city.

You can choose to go to the much crowded Labadi public beach or opt for the relatively less crowded Teshie-Nungua beach, which is also public. Or you can opt to go to private beaches like Bojo and Kokrobite beaches.

You however have to be careful at the public beaches because there can be some unscrupulous elements lurking around to take a purse or mobile phone device from unaware patrons.

Peace and Tranquility
Ghana is largely a peaceful nation despite being a country whose citizens are very politically aware. However, this political awareness is usually translated into daily political talk show events and electoral processes which happens every four years.

The country is known to have a largely credible electoral process (a process which is still on course to attaining perfection) which sees to it that political power changes hand regularly when the citizenry are displeased with the status quo in leadership.

Opperwezen:
The bank heist was not a one man operation, it was carried out by a mob.

The individual named coconspirator 1 in the affidavit is a man named Mirza who was also living the good life, he was arrested by the FBI in oct 2019, it was he who likely did all the snitching, i believe law protocol requires you use such terms as "conspirators" and co in place of a suspects name for a reason unknown to me.
If this person was arrested way back in October 2019, then Hushpuppi isn't smart at all... I mean, that was the point when he should have started living low-key life and even possibly relocated back sharply to naija, but...

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has revealed that about 150 Medical Doctors in the country have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Speaking on the issue, Dr. Titus Beyuo, the Deputy General Secretary of the GMA said that some of the affected doctors had recovered whiles others have succumbed to the virus.

When speaking to Accra based radio station, JOY 99.7FM, Dr. Beyuo said that the situation was getting alarming and that the association was getting concerned.

“The trend is very troubling to us [GMA] because this utterly means that we have been hit as a body. But the good news is currently, we don’t have any doctor in the ICU those who have tested positive and are responding well to treatment,” he said.

Just this past Thursday, Ghana lost one of its top medical specialist in the person of Dr. Richard Kisser to the corona virus.

In June, the country also lost another top Doctor who used to head the SDA Hospital in Kumasito COVID, Dr. Harry Owusu Boateng.

And much earlier in April, Professor Jacob Plange-Rhule, who was the Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, passed on at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), as a result of complication after contracting the corona virus.

Foreign AffairsBREAKING: President Akufo-addo Of Ghana Goes Into COVID Self-isolation by RandomAfrican1(op): 4:45am On Jul 05, 2020

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana is reported to have gone into self-isolation, due to COVID precautionary measures. This is according to a statement coming out of the country’s Ministry of Information.

The statement signed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, indicates that the President decided upon doctor’s advise to self-isolate even though he had tested negative for the COVID-19 virus.

This decision is likely emanating from the fact that a couple of government ministers have tested positive for the virus and are currently undergoing treated in COVID isolation centres in the capital, Accra. Additionally, one person from the president’s close circles (name withheld) also tested positive today.

Just last week, the CEO of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, popularly known as Sir. John, passed on due to COVID-19-related complications.

It is also reported that a Member of Parliament (MP) of the ruling NPP party tested positive for the virus, but he went on to monitor the ongoing voters registration exercises in his constituency because he claims to be asymptomatic.

This MP who used to be a Minister was forced to give up his ministerial position after public outcry over his “reckless voters’ registration move.”

CelebritiesMeet 15-year Old Rap Goddess Tyneebee by RandomAfrican1(op): 8:48am On Jul 04, 2020

TyneeBee is a 15-year old lady who is fast turning out to be Nigeria’s rap sensation.

I was scrolling through my Twitter Time Line (TL) one day and I saw a video of a young girl playing on Simi’s Twitter handle with the hashtag #DudukeChallenge.

Simi had been running a social media challenge for her new song titled ‘Duduke.’ In the video, I saw this young girl mumbling as the TL was on automatic mute. I just thought to click on the video to hear what beautiful singing rendition this would be as I already loved the Duduke song and knowing Simi’s high standards, I knew this person must be a really good singer for her to be posted up by Simisola.

The sweet melodies of the song’s tune started as my ears patiently waited for the intro, and then boom! This young “innocent” lady drops rap bars for days! I was dazed.

SportsLionel Messi Set To Leave Barcelona by RandomAfrican1(op): 6:02pm On Jul 03, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lionel-Messi.jpg
Lionel Messi has called off his negotiations with Barcelona Football Club over the renewal of his contract. This means that the club legend intends to leave the Catalans by the time his deal ends in 2021, as reported by Spanish Radio Network, Cadena Ser.

Sources say that the player is upset with the club’s front office which made it appear as though he has been responsible for the current events and happenings in the club. Some of these purported events are the sacking of Coach Ernesto Valverde, and also that he has made complaints that the squad lacked depth and quality.

There is still yet to be an official comment from the Footballer’s camp.

Messi who turned 33 last month, scored his 700th career goal on Tuesday when Barcelona played against Atletico Madrid in a 2 – 2 drawn game. The Catalans have struggled this season and all indications are that they might likely be losing out the title bid to rivals Real Madrid.

Messi has largely been regarded as a shy person, but this has changed recently with him being quite vocal over the last year; he is reported to have made a number criticisms he has against his club.

According to self-styled Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, Hushpuppi is currently wanted in 47 countries.
