Jobs/VacanciesRe: Please Help, I Have Lost Much Money Trying To Earn Money Online. by RandomAfrican1: 11:53am On Aug 13, 2020
Vicas2000:
The problem is that you are jumping from one source of business to another.

I've been doing same online biz for more than 15yrs and Its been profitable.

There are lots of people jumping into that space....and not doing shishi.

For you to be profitable with any business..you need to spend 10,000 hours dedicated to it.

You seem to be more into programming....freelancing could have worked for you. But you lacked selling skills.

Jobs won't fall into your laps online coz you are a programmer.

There are one million programmers out there. The ones who make money freelancing are the one who can sell.

My advice....start with fiver.

Check out those in programming who have lots of reviews.

Then curate your own profile similar to theirs.

Then offer to do a $50 job for $10. You will get people who need help but don't have much money. Do the job. Get them to give reviews.

Once you get 10-20 reviews...increase your pricing.

When you saturate that niche...move to upwork.

Most normal skills are a dime a zodozen online. Those who TRULY WIN are the ones who have selling and marketing skills. Do simple programming jobs.
This fiverr of a thing that y'all keep mentioning usually requires freelancers to do video intor etc of themselves. That can be quite stressful if you ask me.

Ace Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML, has dropped another banger of a single! The title of the song is Tattoo and it comes with great visuals too.

In my view, Fireboy is one of the most underrated artists our there. His talent is boundless and this song goes on to prove it once more.

He effortlessly makes global music but still that local Nigerian and African music flavour… in other words, he does not get missing despite his intercontinental music sounds.

Enjoy the new song here; https://africaatrandom.com/watch-fireboy-dml-tattoo-new-video-release/
CelebritiesWatch: Lucy Is An Unrepentant Gossip – Tochi by RandomAfrican1(op): 5:16pm On Aug 11, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Tochi-1-800x445.jpg

The 4th evicted housemate from the BBNaija Season 5 reality show, Tochi has had his first interview after eviction day, and as usual, the interview was conducted by show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

During his first interview, he touched a number of things. He mentioned that upon entering the house, he planned to tow a certain game plan and possibly find a girl in the with whom to fall in love. “However, those plans fell out of the window when the show started as people you meet in the house are unpredictable and can easily make you forget things you had in mind.”

He revealed that he initially had a crush on Nengi, but due to the many other male love interests she was receiving, he decided to shield his desire.

Ebuka then asked him about his complicated relations with Lucy; the evicted housemate said that the former co-housemate got on his nerves a lot because she was a side talker and liked to boss people around.

Tochi says that in his view, Nengi and Brighto are the housemates playing the best game so far.

ComputersToshiba Pulls Out Of The Laptop Business by RandomAfrican1(op): 3:52pm On Aug 11, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Toshiba-800x445.jpg

Toshiba has exited the laptop industry without prior notice or warning. This ends its 35 years presence in the laptop manufacturing industry, after it transferred the final part of its minority shares to Sharp.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/toshiba-pulls-out-of-the-laptop-business/

The company sold about 80% of its shares about two years ago to Sharp for a meagre $36 million, subsequent to which Sharp decided to name the laptop division as Dynabook. Sharp then went ahead to trigger its right of purchase on the rest of Toshiba’s minority shares back in June this year, and the transfer process was finalized last week.

Toshiba released an official statement on the 4th of August;

“As a result of this transfer, Dynabook has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp,” The statement said.

Toshiba made its first PC laptop more than 30 years ago in 1985: “The T1100 boasted internal rechargeable batteries, a 3.5-inch floppy drive, and 256K of memory. ComputerWorld’s 20-year retrospective of the T1100 notes that Toshiba executives were unsure about the portable computer, but eventually came around, and began selling the T1100 for around $2,000.”

From the early 1990’s all the way to the 2000’s, Toshiba remained one of the top PC manufacturers in the world. But with the entry of newer players, the company could not innovate and differentiate its products enough to stand out and survive a space that had become highly competitive.

According to the Reuters, by the time Toshiba sold its stake to Sharp, it’s share of the PC market had dwindled from its 2011 peak of 17.7 million PCs sold to about 1.4 million in 2017.

The laptop market has become quite an interesting space over the last couple of years with the advent of innovative and portable devices becoming the “in thing.” The entry of new market players has created significant shifts, coupled with consumer tastes and demands. Thus companies not ready or willing to innovate would have a difficulty surviving and might eventually get swept out.
Foreign AffairsIvory Coast President Ouatarra To Run For Third Term by RandomAfrican1(op): 12:44pm On Aug 08, 2020

President of the Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara has announced that he would be running for a third term in office, despite declaring some months ago that he wasn’t going to.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/ivory-coast-president-ouatarra-to-run-for-third-term/

Mr. Outtara formally accepted his party’s nomination on Thursday, thereby officially sealing his bid for a third presidential term in the coming national elections in October. This is in spite of the opposition pointing out that a third term bid is an illegality under the current constitutional regime.

Ouattara has ruled since 2011, after he came into power following electioneering violence of 2010/2011 where the then sitting president was ousted in a military take-over by rebels linked to the the opposition party led by Mr. Ouattara, for refusing to concede power because they believed that they (the opposition) had won the elections and that the results declared by Laurent Gbagbo’s government was fraudulent.

This upcoming election in October is seen as the greatest test yet for the country after attaining relative stability since the upheaval of 2010/2011 which saw about 3,000 people losing their lives.

“I have decided to respond favourably to the call of my fellow citizens,” Ouattara said in a televised speech. “Given my previous promise, this decision represents a real sacrifice for me.”

The opposition parties are flabbergasted at what seems to be a blatant disregard for the constitution which sets a two term presidential limit. The ruling party has however retorted saying that the new constitution was only adopted in 2016 and as such their candidate is not barred from seeking re-election this year.

Opposition party, the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), have called the president’s decision to run again “deplorable.” FPI spokesman Issiaka Sangare added: “Ivory Coast could have given another signal that would have allowed democracy to continue.”

FPI is the party of former Ivorian president, Laurent Gbagbo, and it has named a former Prime Minister of the Country, Mr. Pascal Affi N’Guessan as its candidate, ending speculations that Gbagbo might return from abroad to stand for re-election this year.

Another key challenger for the presidency is Henri Konan Bedie. Bedie was president from 1993-1999 and is the confirmed candidate of one of the country’s largest political parties, the PDCI.
PoliticsPDP Set To Massively Rig Edo State Elections by RandomAfrican1(op): 7:43am On Aug 08, 2020

Ongoing election campaigns in Edo State, Nigeria has been full of a lot of drama and machinations between the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/pdp-set-to-massively-rig-edo-state-elections/

Much things are to be expected during elections in a country and that includes mud slinging, accusations and condemnation in the body of its politics. This time, it is the APC political party accusing the PDP political party for being petty. The APC also mentioned that it is the PDP’s style to use corrupt means to achieve success and as such are highly suspect of planning to massively rig the elections.

APC, the All Progressives Congress has condemned the Peoples Democratic Party PDP. In the allegations made by the APC against the PDP, the APC political party slammed the PDP for utilizing childish and absurd schemes and techniques in the lead-up to the September 19 governorship election in Edo state, declaring that the PDP has come to the realization that it stands no chance at winning the polls. PDP was also slammed for being popular with making use of corrupt means and techniques to win an election.

APC announced this in a statement on Friday by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yekini Nabena.

The statement reads; “Sensing the widespread acceptance and support the good people of Edo State have given the All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the lead up to the forthcoming governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is clearly panicked and has resorted to childish and comical conspiracies.
“Procurement of result sheets, cloning of PVCs, stealing card readers, vote-buying, voter intimidation, and other election fraud is the PDP’s stock-in-trade. For us in the APC, it is one person, one vote.

“Our people-focused development records are visible to all and the good people of Edo state are poised to make the right and progressive choice, come September 19.

“We reiterate that our security services must do everything to stop the PDP’s plan to unleash violence, intimidate voters, and buy votes during the election. Come September 19, votes will count and the will of the Edo electorate will prevail”.
PDP had also pointed fingers at the APC and its immediate-past National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of increasing coercion on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to acquire extra result sheets with the purpose of rigging the polls.

APC however claims to wash their hands off any form of election corruption.
CelebritiesDiddy To Executive Produce Burna Boy’s Next Album by RandomAfrican1(op): 8:04am On Aug 06, 2020

Bad Boy Records boss, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is set to be the executive producer for Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy‘s upcoming album titled ‘Twice as Tall.’

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/diddy-to-executive-produce-burna-boys-next-album/

Burna Boy spoke to the New York Times about the upcoming LP which is set to be released next week, the 13th of August, in a recent interview.

“I’ve never picked up a pen and paper and written down a song in my life,” he said. “It all just comes, like someone is standing there and telling me what to say. It’s all according to the spirits. Some of us are put on this earth to do what we do.”

Burna Boy added that his new EP aims to continue the “mission I started, which is building a bridge that leads every Black person in the world to come together, and to make you understand that without you having a home base, you can’t be as strong as you are.”

The musician reveals that majority of the songs on the album were recorded during the lockdown period as such he had to work with Diddy in long ‘distance mode’ despite the eight hour time difference between the both of them. He discloses that they did all the work via zoom calls and file transfers.

Diddy was able to create voice-over intros for some of the songs on the LP. There were also other inputs made by some artists like Anderson .Paak and Timbaland.

“I’m on record that I like hit records. If they’re not hit records, I don’t like them,” Diddy said. “A lot of times when an artist wants to be coached or pushed to maybe a greater level, that’s where I’ve come in.”

He added that, “He, as every artist, he wants his music to be heard by the world. He doesn’t care about crossing over. You know, he’s not trying to get hot. He’s not, like, ‘I want to be a big pop star’ — he’s already a star. He wants his music to be heard, his message, his people.”

Majority of the album was already done before Diddy came on board as an executive producer, but he borught that much needed “fresh ear” perspective.

The renowned producer says the LP is “a modern but pure, unapologetic African body of work.”

“The thing that I learned about him is the importance of what he’s doing for his nation and representing the people that aren’t really heard globally. Through this album, I think it’s important for Africa to be heard. And so it’s bigger than just an album. He’s not just on a musical artist trip. He’s a revolutionary. His conviction is serious,” Diddy said.

CelebritiesBbnaija: Ozo Almost Beat Prince Up by RandomAfrican1(op): 5:45am On Aug 06, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/BBNaija-800x445.jpg

There was a short “shouting session” in what appeared to be a little altercation or skirmish between current BBNaija Head of House (HoH), Ozoemena aka Ozo and fellow season housemate Prince.

Apparently, the housemates were practicing for today’s wager task when Prince decided to take a leave from the rehearsals without due recourse to fellow housemates. This got Ozo incensed and caused him to lash out at Prince saying that the latter was taking the task for granted.

He made it known that being HoH, he was responsible for how things would turn out in the house’s wager task later today and as such, he does not want any of the housemates to take things for granted.

Prince on the other hand took the reprimand in his stride and apologised for his actions.

After things cooled off a bit, Ozo also apologised for his outburst and the rest of the rehearsal session got back on track.

Some Twitter commentators however hold the view that Ozo was just venting at Prince because of the silent rivalry between they have over their palpable love interest in fellow female housemate Nengi, who seems to have a cunning way of getting the two jealous by playing them against each other.

Foreign AffairsCorruption Cannot Thrive In Rwanda – President Kagame by RandomAfrican1(op): 5:43pm On Aug 05, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/kagame.jpg

In Rwanda there are great disincentives to be corrupt, this is according to the country’s president, Mr. Paul Kagame.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/corruption-cannot-thrive-in-rwanda-president-kagame/

Rwandan public officials who are caught in acts of corruption face the consequences of hefty fines, the auctioning of their properties and long jail terms if convicted by a court of competent jurisprudence. On a normal day, the country is a no-nonsense place for the vice and the dwindling domestic revenues due to the impact of the global corona virus pandemic has led the authorities to step up their vigilance and fight against corruption.

Some top government officials were recently arrested on the suspicion of embezzlement of funds. President Kagame speaking on the development with The EastAfrican in a virtual interview stated that his government will not relent in its fight to totally stamp out traces of corruption everywhere in the fabric of the Rwandan society.

“To minimise or reduce corruption like in our case (Rwanda)… simply means maximising pressure on the corrupt. What is happening now is exactly in that direction,” President Kagame said.

Earlier this week, prosecutors in the country announced that they are considering seeking the freezing of bank accounts and properties of the government officials under investigation for corruption after it emerged some have devised tricks and networks to conceal or move their assets once under the radar of investigators.

“We have always talked about not entertaining corruption as our way of life. That has always been at the centre of the politics that I have associated with and others in this country, and I think there is respect for that,” Mr. Kagame said, underscoring Rwanda’s zero-tolerance for corruption in any form.

“For me, the most important thing to do is to do things properly. Follow due process and fairness, listen to the person who is accused to ensure they are aware that the case is real, therefore, accountability is necessary,” he added.

Last year 2019, some 1,187 people were tried for various suspected cases of corruption and mismanagement of government funds.
SportsFootballers Die Poor, Former Ghana Coach Says by RandomAfrican1(op): 7:05am On Aug 04, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Kwesi-Appiah.jpg

Mr. Kwesi Appiah, a former coach of the Ghana national side, the Black Stars, has said that he does not intend to continue in the field of football in any capacity because he does not want to die poor.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/footballers-die-poor-former-black-stars-coach-kwesi-appiah-says/

The 60 year old who himself used to play for Ghana said this whiles speaking with Accra based radio station, Citi 97.3 FM.

Mr. Kwesi Appiah’s role at the helm of affairs as coach of the Ghana team ended in December 2019 and he has not offered much interview until recently.

During the interview, he said that “I’m not interested in talking about any football issues for now. I don’t know, maybe tomorrow I will change my mind but for now I’m not interested.”

Backing up his decision to steer clear of football for now, he intimated that many old footballers who were now living destitute lives depended solely on the game of football to make ends meet.

“Most of the old players are blind now; some can’t even walk while some are really struggling for a living.

So if they had concentrated only on football, that would have been their end.

So do they (referring to those who have issues with his decision) want my ending to be like such people?

If I’m taken out of the Black Stars won’t I do other businesses?

My concentration is on other businesses I do. My concentration is not on football for now.”

He added that most footballers made the mistake of not diversifying their investment portfolio during their peak earning days.

“Our footballers, I’m not saying they did not do well but at the end of the day if during their playing days, started other businesses with part of the money they made from playing, like by now they wouldn’t be looking up to football earnings alone.

So in everything you do if you rely on only one job, one day you can be sacked or the job can fade, then what becomes of you?

So I was talking in relation to, you don’t depend on one job, me I have never depended on one job, so if you leave one place then you look at the other side too”, he stressed.
Foreign AffairsZimbabwe: Dictatorship On The Rise As Government Clamps Down Opposition by RandomAfrican1(op): 7:20pm On Aug 03, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Zimbabwe.jpg

The government in Zimbabwe has sent out the military to arrest scores of opposition party members after it prevented a civil demonstration last week.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/zimbabwe-dictatorship-on-the-rise-as-government-clamps-down-opposition/

So far, about 60 people have been arrested in the government’s new clamp down on dissenting voices. This is coming as a surprise because people expected much from the current President, Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, who took over from Robert Mugabe, who himself was widely known as a dictator.

Even though both are of the same party, the ZANU PF, and Mr. Mnangagwa was Mugabe’s Vice for years, and people thought that it would be a new dawn and a different Zimbabwe under the new President’s watch, but alas, it appears that the country is back at square one.

A number of high profile Zimbabweans have been arrested in this dictatorial clamp down. Internationally renowned author, Tsitsi Dangarembga, was arrested for conducting a peaceful protest. He was sent to police cells to spend a night, before being released on bail.

The country’s main opposition party, the MDC Alliance, says that dozens of its executives have been arrested whiles many others have gone into hiding for the fear of their lives. Reports are that when the security agencies go looking for someone in their homes and meet their absence, their properties and relatives bear the brunt of the anger as they get brutalized by the men in uniform – this was stated by the opposition party’s spokes person, Tenda Biti.

Human rights groups have also accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration of clamping down on dissent under the guise of enforcing anti-COVID-19 lockdown rules.

The government and its security agencies on the other hand have been denying the accusations of dictatorship and human rights violations levelled against them. They rather claim that those being arrested are people who have sort to make the nation ungovernable and as such, there is the need to put them in check for the sanity of society.

The case of arrest and jailing of investigative journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono, was postponed on Monday by the courts to Thursday. This makes it two weeks since the journalist got arrested without bail on accusations of leading a foiled revolt against the government.

Also, another investigative journalist, Mdudzuzi Mathuthu, who is known to have focused on cases of corruption in relation to purchases of COVID-19 personal procurement equipment and drugs, has gone into hiding because the government have sent the forces after him too.

“I am hiding like a rat in my own country for doing nothing more than my job,” Mathuthu told The Associated Press Monday.

“Journalism is just a job, but in Zimbabwe it can be a matter of life and death. They have not only come just after me, but my family as well,” he said.

CelebritiesGoing To Church Is A Waste Of Time – Ghanaian Actress by RandomAfrican1(op): 11:07am On Aug 02, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Christian-Awuni-696x445.jpg

Ghanaian actress by name Christiana Awuni has said that the attendance of church services is a waste of one’s time. She says this even though she identifies as a strong Christian.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/going-to-church-is-a-waste-of-time-ghanaian-actress/

She was speaking with On Air Personality (OAP) Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5FM ‘s ‘Ayeeko’ show when she made the statement.

She says that for her, she believes that once we are able to pray by ourselves and God can hear us same way he can hear any pastor, she does not see the reason why people should throng church premises.

“I’m a Christian. I’ve taken Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal saviour. I pray but I don’t go to church. I decided not to go. I have been to a lot of churches,” she said.

“To me, there is no need going to church because I know that if I go on my knees and pray, God will listen and he listens. In my view, the pastor is a human being like me. The same way God uses him, he can also use me so why should I waste my time in church,” she added.

Christiana is known widely in Ghana for starring in many movies shot in Ghana’s middle belt city of Kumasi.

The Ghanaian actress was recently in the news based off rumours that she had a hand in the death of fellow actor, Bernard Nyarko. This she has denied categorically stating that she finds such tabloid reports preposterous.

Madam Awuni is a veteran actress who has acted mostly in local twi speaking movies. She has almost 3 decades of acting under her belt, having featured in close to 100 movies.

She is currently divorced and indicated in a recent interview with renowned media personality, Delay (Deloris Frimpong Manso), that she has no intentions of remarrying as she wasn’t sure if whether or not she is cut out for it.

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina, has been cleared of all corruption charges that were levelled against him after a review was done by an independent panel.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/akinwunmi-adesina-cleared-after-corruption-probe/

The United States of America (USA), which is one of the largest shareholders and stakeholders in the bank had insisted on a new inquiry in April after an internal review had already cleared Mr. Adesina.

Apparently, some purported whistle blowers had accused the Nigerian of giving contracts to friends and appointing relatives at the bank. some supporters of the AfDB president believed that these were machinations from people who did not want to see him secure a second term because he wasn’t playing to the tune of the West.

Mr Adesina is set to be re-elected for another five-year term in August.

The AfDB is currently aged 60 and has been a player in the bankiing industry for a good chunk of his years.

He also used to be a former minister of agriculture in Nigeria, and is gunning to be the sole candidate in his AfDB re-election bid.

Adesina is a charismatic speaker, who is known for his elegant suits and bow ties, he has led the bank since 2015.

He himself believes that there are people out there to get him because he has kept faith with pushing policies that benefit the people of the continent first as opposed to seeking to dance to the tune of the pipers who preferred that their interests be paramount.

As such, he denied accusations against him many times and consistently, saying they were “attempts by some to tarnish” his reputation.

Ghana last night announced a further easing of COVID related restrictions despite the country seeing increasing numbers of cases.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/ghana-eases-restrictions-despite-increasing-covid-cases/

The country with a population of 29 million people has crossed the 30,000 mark for COVID cases since the pandemic widely hit the world in February of this year.

The country’s President, Nana Akufo Addo, in an address yesterday said that commercial vehicles would now be allowed to operate in full capacity without the need to observe social distancing rules. He also added that places of worship (such as Churches, Mosques, Temples etc) would be allowed to admit more people during their services.

The West African nation was under lockdown in April when cases were almost below 100 in total. Ironically however, restrictions started getting lifted as the cases crossed the 2,000 mark, and today the country has recorded about 32,969 COVID-19 cases with about 29,494 official recoveries and 168 deaths.

TV/MoviesPro Lesbian Nollywood Film Released by RandomAfrican1(op): 3:05pm On Jul 25, 2020
https://africaatrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lesbian-Nollywood-Film.jpg

A pro lesbian Nollywood film created and directed by Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim has is in the works and about to be released. The story is centred around the love interest between two queer women.

Uyaiedu said she created the movie to address the subject of LGBTQ head-on as it is more or less a taboo topic in Nigeria.

The title of the movie is “Ife” which translates to mean “love” in the Yoruba language, a dialect widely spoken in South Western Nigerian.

Uyaiedu said she made the movie as an opposition to the stereotypical way queer people were perceived in the Nigerian society as this also got transferred into movies where gay roles are often deemed to be troubled and problematic.

“I’m queer so ‘Ife’ is dear to my heart. I wanted to represent LGBTQ characters in a different light than how they are shown in past stories, to change how heterosexuals view them,” she explained.

Homophobia is a big thing in Nigeria and the larger parts of Africa. Stigma against homosexuals in Nigeria is particularly very pronounced considering that there are even laws in the country’s books that sentence gays and lesbians to long jail terms when caught and convicted.

This pro lesbian film which centres a story on two women namely Ife and Adaora brings to the fore the the uncertainty surrounding their relationship mainly because of how their society views same sex relationships.

The movie is created in partnership with Equality hub, an NGO in Nigeria focused on fighting social injustices against sexual minorities.

“They come into problems when they are not certain of the future of their relationship considering that these two women live in Nigeria which is a homophobic country,” she said of the storyline.

Ikpe-Etim is an advocate for the Nigeria’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) community.

A 2019 survey carried out by The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERS), returned with a result that shows that over 75 percent of people in the country support the continued enforcement of the strict anti-gay laws as they currently are.

PoliticsDiezani Ordered By Court To Return To Nigeria For Prosecution by RandomAfrican1(op): 7:34am On Jul 25, 2020

Alleged money laundering: Court orders Diezani to surrender self for trial

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, ordered former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to appear before it and answer to a money laundering charge filed against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The judge, Ijeoma Ojukwu, gave the order in a ruling on an ex-parte motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/208/2018 brought by the EFCC’s lawyer, Faruk Abdallah.

Ojukwu ordered the issuance of summons on Mrs Alison-Madueke for her to be arraigned on the charge.

The EFCC had accused the former minister of fleeing the country for the United Kingdom (UK) in order to escape justice.

The judge, who ordered that the court’s summons be published on the website of the anti-corruption agency and a national daily in a conspicuous manner, said the development would make it easier for Mrs Alison-Madueke to be aware of the invitation.

Earlier, Mr Abdallah, while arguing the motion, noted that since Mrs Alison-Madueke allegedly fled the country, it was difficult to get her back to respond to the various criminal allegations against her.

He said there was a need for a court’s summons or arrest warrant to compel her appearance in court.

The lawyer, in a document filed along with the motion ex-parte, said the Commission sought to question Mrs Alison-Madueke, without success, in relation to many allegations against her, including “her role as the Minister of Petroleum Resources and her role in the award of Strategic Alliance Agreement (SAA) to Septa Energy Limited, Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept Limited and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited by NNPC.

He said it also wanted Mrs Alison-Madueke to respond to questions about “her role in the chartering of private jets by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Ministry of Petroleum Resources and her role in the award of contracts by NNPC to Marine and Logistics Services Limited.”

Mr Abdallah said the agency was investigating Mrs Alison-Madueke’s business relationships with Donald Amamgbo, Afam Nwokedi, lkpea Leemon, Olatimbo Bukola Ayinde, Benedict Peters, Christopher Aire, Harcourt Adukeh, Julian Osula, Dauda Lawal, Nnamdi Okonkwo, Leno Laithan, Sahara Energy Group and Midwestern Oil Limited.

He added that Mrs Alison-Madueke was also required to clear air on “her role in financing the 2015 general elections, particularly the money that were warehoused at Fidelity Bank Plc in 2015 prior to the elections.”

He said it equally wanted the ex-minister to speak on several items, documents and jewelleries recovered from her house at No: 10, Chiluba Close, off Jose Marti Street, Asokoro, Abuja, and some identified property that were linked to her in Nigeria, UK, United States of America (USA), United Arab Emirate (UAE) and South Africa.

The judge then adjourned the matter till October 28 for Mrs Alison-Madueke to attend court for the purpose of her arraignment on the pending money laundering charge.

HealthMen Are The Cause Of Corona Virus, Kenyan Media Woman by RandomAfrican1(op): 7:31am On Jul 22, 2020

Kenyan Media Personality, Caroline Mutoko has come under serious social media fire as she is purported to have said that men were the cause of the rising numbers of cases pertaining to the novel corona virus disease.

Source; https://africaatrandom.com/men-are-the-cause-of-corona-virus-kenyan-media-woman/

Caroline who is a former radio host and a known advocate for feminism said that men usually overlooked simple hygiene which therefore led to them being the most prone to succumb to the COVID-19 disease.

In a video which she shared on her YouTube channel, she insisted that men were the cause of their own predicaments as it appeared that they have been ignoring the directives from the Ministry of Health on COVID-19 guidelines.

“You hate water…somebody has to beg you to wash your hands and this was pre-covid. Because you are mentally predisposed to shy away from hygiene, corona is coming for you,” she said referring to male gender.

She also lambasted men for engaging in unhealthy eating habits by not adding fruits and vegetables to their meals with the erroneous notion that fruits and vegetables belong to only women and children.

She went on to praise female gender saying that women were a more intelligent sect that knew how to follow guidelines set to prevent the spread of the corona virus. She says this is why infection rate among women is way lower in comparison with men.

Her statement however seemed not have incensed a section of internet users, especially on Twitter.

Many of her attackers found it preposterous that she would rather choose to make the COVID-19 crisis a gender war instead of seeing it as an opportunity for all to come together to fight a common enemy.

One Twitter user with the name Kerubo said “I think there are several reasons why most men are contracting the virus as compared to women apart from what Caroline Mutoko is saying Men hustle more Men go out there to provide for their families Men are highly exposed thus making them be at a higher risk It’s all clear.”

Another user, Nehemiah Bosire responded to Caroline by saying that, “until a vaccine is ready, just listen to experts. So you telling me, men all over the globe, poor hygienic practices is the sole source of gender disparity with regards to infection rates??. Caroline Mutoko argument was very shallow, and with no scientific basis, pure guessing.”

There are however some other people who agreed with Ms. Mutoko and sided with her that men are generally careless and do not care much about sanitary health.

Ghana‘s Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori-Attah has disclosed that the government is working to roll out an unemployment benefit scheme soon.

He says this move by the government has been necessitated because of the unfortunate impact that the corona virus pandemic has had on the state of workers’ welfare. This coupled with lay offs and increased unemployment has given rise to the need for the government to put measures in place to ameliorate the economic impact of the times.

“As a responsible society we should have such a program to cushion Ghanaians when needed,” he said.

In a conversation with Joy PM Express news, the Mr. Ofori-Attah said that the fine details of the scheme would be announced in a few days, on the 23rd of this month, when he goes to parliament to present the mid-year budget review.

He says that this is one of the government’s efforts in playing a role to see to it that the vulnerable in society are given a helping hand in their times of need.

it is however unclear how the Ghana government intends to finance the project.

Ghana Government Stimulus Package for Businesses
The government of Ghana also intends to roll out stimulus packages for businesses and industries, the minister revealed.

This would be captured under the government’s COVID-19 Alleviation Program. It is an initiative which would be unveiled soon as a way to fast track the economic recovery of the country due to the harmful economic effects of the COVID.

The government had earlier rolled out a $1 billion stimulus plan for small businesses to seek relief from the effects of the pandemic. The new round of funds would be targeted at larger businesses.

Following Mr. Macaroni’s skit where he featured the Ooni of Ife earlier today, Former Vice President of Nigeria who was also the opposition party’s (People’s Democratic Party – PDP) flag bearer in the last Nigerian election, Atiku Abubakar has in a tweet endorsed the comedian for his good works.

Mr. Atiku retweeted Mr. Macaroni’s post and quoted the comedian’s popular “You are doing well” phrase, with the hashtag #Smiles.

Being able to get the overload of Yoruba land in your comedy skit is not a mean feat, it is therefore not surprising to see how much attention this latest video by Mr. Macaroni is getting.
