Norway is so expensive and it will be difficult for someone that is not working there.

I think czech is by far better than norway for visiting,study and accommodation.

I decided to join my family in Calgary and face the challenges on July 2011. Before finally relocating to Canada I had plan of gaining employment in

the Canadian oil industries as a rig technician. The reason being that it is easy to get and also the pay is very good so far you can endure working

in a hostile weather conditions.

When I landed, I went and registered with Calgary Catholic Immigration services (this is government sponsored trainer for entry level in the oil

industries). I was invited for both oral and written interview, and to my greatest surprise I was not selected. It was very painful as I had no plan B,

meanwhile the money I had with me was going down seriously because of large family (family of five).

After much thought I went to job agency, I must emphasise that agency job are readily available but the problem is they are mostly temporary jobs.

You can be lucky and get hired by the parent company after about three months. The jobs are mostly warehouse jobs with payment range of $14-

$20/hr payment. The agent was able to get a job for me in an electrical assembly plant the next day with a payment of $17.5/hr. 

With this I was able to pay my bill and take care of my family. The job was more of physical than brain work, so I wasn’t comfortable with it. I

started submitting my resume to different telecommunication companies since that’s my major in Nigeria. I must say that I used Craigslist most of

the time and also looking up directly on the company websites. I started getting invitation for interview, after three series of interview I finally got an offer letter. I never applied for engineering positions. You cannot come from Nigeria and secure any engineering position without first undergoing

one year upgrade program. All my application was as telecommunication technician. 

The problem most of us Nigerian especially easterners face here is the accent problem. The oyibo here don’t usually understand our English.

After staying few months here I must admit that Nigeria is very lovely place to stay. When I was in Nigeria there is no weekend that will pass without you having one occasion to attend. Those things make life more enjoyable, but you can never see those things here.

going to European countries like Norway,finland,Luxembourg etc but actually there is nothing in this life that comes easily
and is good to start from some where .Many stars today started from amateur and then to professinal level,so starting from local,regional,semi pro,lower divisions and professional team.please I need your advice.

1RESIDENT PERMIT BY AN INDIVIDUAL IS AROUND 800K NAIRA BUT AS FOR COMPANY IS AROUND 600K,BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED ANY JOB OR SURVIVAL THERE UNLESS YOU ARE FOR BUSINESS TRIP AND FINALLY IF YOUR VISA EXPIRES AND YOU ARE CAUGHT 2-5 YEARS IN THE PRISON AND YOU WILL BE DEPORTED.

Omolewu: one of my friend travelled to dubai u a e early this year and he told me to send my scanned passport and $1000 to do visa and work permit for me.pls aadvise me for i dont want to go astrsy.

Please any advice on going to abroad to search for a football club,it must not be big teams immediately, I think there are some opportunity in Europe for a footballer even from the open camp trial,local ,regional,semi professional and professional teams is always good to start from somewhere.Even most of the stars today started from the amateur level .So which country will you advice some one to go in search of a start in football career?

Dubai is oil rich country,but as working and studying based on my experience here in QATAR I dont think can work so easily like other country,but you still have to try,I think you have a chance because they will like to consider you as their own University product.PRAY HARD AND STUDY HARD.

Ok so i gained admission to study MSC petroleum engineering @ Heriot-watt Dubai.i actually studied Petroleum Engineering @ FUTO nigeria...and i graduated with a 2'1.am actually supposed to leave by september this year .so i wonder if there is any information,tips,advice etc about how 2 adapt 2 the life in abu dhabi.

What are my chances in dubai assuming i complete this program and will wanna get a job there.

I will really appreciate inputs from folks on here.

In this life if you want to make it and leave large and larger and largest life you have to be :
1) Prayerful,ask for Gods favour and wholeness(SHALOM)
2)Patience and focus
3)Endurance
4)Hardworking and honest
5)Wise ,smart and intelligent
6)Humble,skillful and always ready to learn.
7)Be Informed and connected on what to do in a any place you go, in other to earn a living and later to live large with fantastic earnings.
There is no harm in trial,so pray hard and try hard.
Altogether what am trying to say is that in this life is not so easy to get what you want as a person.Sometimes is good to start from the scratch ,
did you know that Didier Drogba started from amateur team ,later to division team.Even Beckford from UK (England)on his fathers land he was living with less than
45 pounds per month but he was determined to be a star and to live large,today he is making not less than 45,000 pounds with big football profile at least for demolishing Man united and Liverpool FC in FA cup,now he has a luxury home and exotic cars.Okay I know my friends and housemates in QATAR ,that dont have any job for 14 months and some almost 2 years,later some even borrowed money (about 160,000 naira) and did a course ,Today about 4 to 5 of them are doing a job that so much money ,the other one that went through a lot of pains praying with his wife on skype call,sobbing and serving as a helper in a construction site ,today is a Manager and is earning 440,000 naira,he had brougth his wife and daugther to live him and bought a brand new car.Even the other Engineer that was earning a around 240,000 naira is now earning close to 1 million with free furnished 2 bed room flat given to him by the company.My Brethren "there is no harm trying" to make it is not in every place is not easy,but in abroad things can changeat any time, but honestly we need prayers in this life both in abroad and in Nigeria.Sometimes Nigerian players even enter a country without invitation from a football club,some join amateur league ,local league,semi pro and professional.These guys have the faith and courage,and are determined to make it some do get information of an open trials ,where you can walk in and request for a trial during the given date,most times they do impress the coach and they will be enroll in the team even without sign on fee and small salary,but what matters is that they have finally started their career and can even change to a better person or a hero.So you can never compare the oppornuity in Abroad to the one in Nigeria pertiod!!!just be focus and keep on praying to God the JEHOVAH NISHI AND THE JEHOVAH REHOBOTH.

Brethren have we forgotten that some people are pursuing a career in abroad like in sports(football,badminton,swimming ,etc)entertainment(music,comedy,show,acting,dancing etc)and education,so when they are done with they want they will start coming back to make fantastic earning with their vast experience.How footballers that are in cotract in their club will comeback to Nigeria?but when they get to retirement zone, they will start telling you is time to go back home for good with 17 million pounds in their account and some other fortunes.In Igbo proverb,IT SAYS THAT WHEN A CHILD EATS WHAT MADE HIM TO BE AWAKE HE START RUSHING TO THE BED TO SLEEP.THANK YOU ALL,ONE LOVE!!!
