The whole point of the NL mixtape will be to showcase NL artists ( and the nairaland music section itself) to an outside audience. The beef tracks are only relevant to Nairalanders.

As regards the 'if i die' opener, that was in respect to DaGrin.  The lyrics are prophetic considering the circumstances of his death and his importance in the naija hip hop industry. I wouldn't have done it any other way. if u dont get it. . . .fine.

as regards the other tracks u mentioned, well, all i can say is. . . .  . . there is an obvious reason why they didn't make it. I'll let u try and work it for urself.

The NL mixtape needs to be organised by an iron hand to get it through to completion.  The problem is that people will want their substandard, badly produced, badly rapped tracks included. Under the watchful eye of Rapjunkie, this will never happen.

So, for this to work, I need to be at the helm of affairs. The  RCJ has learnt it lessons and is prepared to offer a more transparent approach for the inclusion of tracks to the final list.   

I am happy to work with elrazur as long as he is objective. I am sure he will want one of his own tracks included.

I cant please everybody. The RCJ is setting up a a formal inquiry to look at the roles of the individual members of the committee and to investigate if anything improper took place.

I will keep you informed.

In order to placate everybody, I am proposing to put together an official nairaland mixtape, featuring the best of the best of Nairaland MC's which we will push to blogs etc.

A thread was created in March last year but nothing seemed to come from it. I could set up a new thread asking for people to vote for their top 5 songs. Again, beef tracks WILL NOT make it.
