This man could be very funny in movies back then. God rest his soul. We have lost so many good Nollywood actors. I remember Sam Loco Efe, Fabian Adibe, Pete Eneh, John Okafor, JT Tom West, Muna Obiekwe, Dede One Day, Amaechi Muonagor, and a host of others.

Remember Michael Duro, the ailing Nollywood actor?

Michael died on Tuesday.

His colleague and filmmaker, Stanleyontop, confirmed the news to this reporter on Thursday.

Michael had been away from active acting for several years due to his deteriorating health. The illness led to the amputation of one of his legs, after which he publicly appealed for assistance with medical care and a prosthetic limb.

In 2024, despite his challenges, Michael appealed to producers to continue casting him.

In 2022, he received financial support from Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, who donated ₦5 million towards his treatment, though his condition worsened.

Michael appeared in several Nollywood movies, including Midnight Love (2003) and The Guilty (2006).

May his soul rest in peace!

Today marked 29 years that rap icon, Amaru Shakur aka 2Pac or Tupac died. He died on 13th September, 1996, after a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America. He passed away six days later at the age of 25. The shooting took place after Shakur left the venue of a boxing match with label mate, Surge Knight.

Tupac was known for his hard poetic lyrics. He had a cult-like followership during his time. His music will remain evergreen.

Before his death, Tupac had a longstanding quarrel with onetime friend, Christopher Wallace also known as the Notorious B.I.G.

In1996 I don’t think there was terminator console. We had nes, snes and famicom and sega. Terminator console was a copy of sega and famicom games and it came out in 98 (ps1 era).

I just stumbled on the Super Mario Bros game that was first released in 1985. Fond memories. I used my saved pocket money to buy the Terminator Game Console that we used in playing Super Mario and other games like Contra, Duck Hunt and Mortal Kombat.

I literally trekked to school for a long time just to save N850 which I used to purchase the game. This was in 1996. My house became a theatre, always filled with friends until Popsy seized the game and asked me to concentrate on my books. If you get this game console that year, you be sabi pikin.

I was just pondering why society should expect faithfulness from young men who toiled so hard to get to a commendable level in life. This same society has made it clear that men are nothing without money. That their value only lies in what they can provide financially and materially. That is why that girl you are dating has many friends with benefits that you are not aware of.

Why do you think you can tame men on both sides? You expect them to stay out of relationships because they cannot provide your material needs, but still want them to be faithful when they have toiled hard to attain success unsupported. That is unrealistic.

Agent fee 150k for a rent to 300k? That's impossible!! No agent will ever charge you that amount, it's usually 10% of the rent fee.
And those other changes are not going into the pocket of the Agent, that's for the landlord .

Blame landlord for exorbitant fees, it has nothing to do with Agent fee which is always fixed on the 10 percent.

Don't just sit in that location you are and type things you know nothing about. Oga, travel make you see. Just because agents in your location charge 10% fee does not mean it is like that in major cities across the country. Again, travel and see.

For your information, I have been in the business of property management before, and I have been paying for accommodation since 2007. Don't think you are talking to a kid.

You are charging N150,000 as agent fee for a one room apartment. Doesn't the client have family to feed? Or should he or she use all their resources for accommodation?

Believe it or not, most of these greedy house agents who have made under trees and roadside their offices, live in terrible apartments like the one in the photo. These greedy folks cannot afford to pay for same apartments they are trying to rip you off with.

They will tell you:
Agent fee is N150,000
Caution fee is N100,000
Management fee is N100,000
Agreement fee is N100,000
Inspection fee is N10,000
House rent is N300,000

Now, imagine a prospective tenant paying you N150,000 just for taking him/her to see a house that neither belong to you nor your papa. You expect the prospective tenant to pay unnecessary fees which when put together, is even greater that the actual rent for the house.

The way these guys extort people searching for accommodation is something else...follow them to their apartments, you will throw up!

A man identified as Amos Daniel has been arrested for allegedly killing a woman believed to be his girlfriend in a hotel located in the Ayobo area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday.

It was gathered that Daniel checked into the hotel around 5 pm with some friends, while a female joined them later.

A strange noise was, however, heard from their room at about 10 pm, drawing the attention of others in the hotel.

Speaking to our correspondent on Saturday, one of the guests who identified himself simply as Adio said the security unit was immediately alerted, and upon opening the room, he discovered the lifeless body of the deceased.

“I checked in on Wednesday, but on that fateful evening, I started hearing a strange sound from the room beside mine. I was so curious, and by the time I later stepped out, I noticed that someone else who heard the noise had alerted a security operative, who came and said he had heard the same noise. So, he knocked, but no one responded. Then, they decided to use the spare key to open the door, and that was when they found a lady lying in a pool of blood.”

It was gathered that the manager and other workers in the hotel quickly raised the alarm after the discovery.

This also led to a frantic search for the other occupants of the room, who had fled the scene.

A staff member who craved anonymity as he was not permitted to speak with the media said Daniel was caught on the premises where he went to hide.

He said, “We noticed two out of the three guests had left before we discovered the body, so we felt the third one could still be around. That was when we began searching the premises and in the process saw him trying to run towards the gate. He was later apprehended.”

Daniel was said to have been beaten on the spot before the police were invited.

“He confessed while he was being beaten that he had conspired with his two other friends to kill her for ritual purposes,” the source added.

Checks by our correspondent revealed that the deceased was identified as Endurance and a native of Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, the incident was reported at the Ayobo Police Station on Friday by the hotel manager.

He said, “The manager of a hotel situated at Ayobo came to the station and reported that at about 1 pm on Thursday, one Amos Daniel (male), whose house address is unknown, booked a room in his hotel and checked in at about 5 pm together with his friends.

“However, at about 8 pm, while the complainant was fuelling the hotel generator, he suddenly heard a strange noise coming from Amos Daniel’s room. In a bid to inquire about the cause of the noise, he sighted the lifeless body of a female adult in a pool of her blood with various injuries inflicted on her by a suspected sharp object.

“Amos Daniel and his cohorts fled the scene. The manager pursued and apprehended Amos Daniel, during which a dagger suspected to have been used in committing the heinous crime fell from his body.”

He added that a team of detectives promptly visited the scene while photographs were taken.

He further disclosed that the victim was stabbed several times on the stomach, left side of the head, and upper side of her ribs.

“Consequent upon preliminary investigation, the following exhibits were recovered from the house and premises of Amos Daniel: UTC axe, cutlass, machete, jack knives, laptop, service jungle boot, local sponge, and a big pair of scissors.

“The corpse has been evacuated and deposited at Mainland General Hospital, Yaba mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Both the case file, exhibits, and the suspect have been transferred to SCID Yaba for discreet investigation,” he added.
