HealthRe: Breaking: Ebola Goes Out Of Control As 21 Quarantined In Enugu - Fg by rastamouse: 7:12pm On Aug 13, 2014
There are too many misinformation going around. I don't think the nurse will transmit the disease because you have to show the symptoms to be able to transfer the disease. If she is now showing the signs then her contact with the people doesn't matter
HealthRe: No Ebola In Ghana - Health Minister by rastamouse(op): 7:47pm On Aug 11, 2014
OluOlaBlitz: 1. The aids metted out by Nigeria far exceeds that of Ghana and I am not beating my chest about it, only laying out facts. Nigeria is not called "African big brothers" for nothing.
2. Citizens of other countries who sends their wards to Ghana schools pay for the services rendered, it is not free.
3. I would consider Ghana's first reaction to news of the virus in Nigeria as a understandable classic panic reaction to such a critical situation. But after the panic, should there not be solidarity in the fighting of the scourge.
We have other countries sending medical experts to help, where are Ghana's volunteers? Where is our beloved West Africa brothers? Or is it solely our battle now?
4. It is in times of needs you know a true brother. If a brotherly love is professed, then it should equally be shown.
5. The news that Ebola is not in Ghana is a brilliant one, but a news that two great African neighbours and brothers join hands together to avert a dangerous situation will be a more brilliant one.
Thanks bro. GOD will bless you

rigarmortis: Nigeria makes up 79% of the economy in west Africa, the sheer volume of foreigners entering and leaving daily in staggering, the conferences etc held in lagos, Abuja, ph, kano and other cities is more than all other WA countries put together so there is higher probability that an infected person will travel to Nigeria first before Ghana,.

no arguing here, just facts, it could have been Ghana is they had Nigerian traffic
That is very true. Sawyer was just wicked for what he did if the report is true

ElFenomeno1: It has not been stated anywhere that the seriousness of the threat is being undermined.

No confirmed or known cases is all the write up is telling us.

HealthNo Ebola In Ghana - Health Minister by rastamouse(op): 11:47am On Aug 11, 2014
Contrary to some comments here on nairaland, the health minister of Ghana announced on Monday that all the suspected cases of Ebola have returned negative results.

Test results from samples of suspected Ebola cases from the Ashanti, Eastern and Upper East Regions have all proven negative, government has revealed.

There was fear and panic across the country following the death of a man who crossed the border from Pusiga in the Upper East Region to seek health healthcare at Bawku.

A similar incident was reported at Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Saturday when authorities at the Government Hospital quarantined two suspects who had reported at the facility with symptoms of the deadly virus.

But samples taken from all the cases - four from Ashanti, two from Nsawam and one from Bawku - tested at the Noguchi Memorial Centre have shown no traces of the virus in any of the patients, according to government sources.

The Presidency will be meeting the Inter Ministerial Action Group on Ebola Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Flagstaff House to evaluate Ghana's Ebola Response Strategy so far.

The meeting will be chaired by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prospoer Bani.

There is no known cure for the deadly virus but the World Health Organisation hopes to find a vaccine by 2015.

“I think it’s realistic”, Marie-Paule Kieny, Assistant Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) told AFP, with clinical trials expected to get underway soon.

The epidemic, which has mostly affected Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, has been declared an international public health emergency by the WHO.

The girls need to change after the break. Their pace at the offense is too slow and that is making the Mexicans very comfortable at just staying back. Increase the tempo and hit them hard

Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana Unable To Pay University Lecturers Salary For 8months As Economy Tanks by rastamouse: 5:24am On Aug 05, 2014
That is not true. Just don't feed on any news. The man was doing an interview and what he really said was lost in translation in the Twi language. He warned that the government's policy will stifle the economy and make it almost impossible to pay workers by June this year.

Well thank GOD the government was able to pay workers....Ghana is really just hanging on for now cheesy

I told some doctor friends and nurses that they have the greatest risk when it comes to the Ebola menace. Imagine having to take care of a very sick person only to realize later on that the person has the virus.

GOD protect all the brave health practitioners out there who are risking their lives to let us live

Israel should bomb every tunnel that the terrorists are using to smuggle weapons. The whole of Gaza should be leveled to the ground so that the people can live in peace
