Why wont we support him, you should export the excess of what you produce or as trade by barter, APC is desperate to put up a facade of its Agricultural 'revolution' yielding results that they mop up yam tubers in the local market and send to America, spending more on media advert than the profit they hope to make from the export.

Indians and Lebanese merchants are in Plateau and Mambila areas planting Irish potatoes and processing same for our local and regional supermarket chains and targeting west African markets while our Govt and citizens are busy making a mockery of ourselves with yam and Ugu exports we dont have enough.

I just watched the viral video of the school feeding programme where primary school kids are fed with N50 bread to 4 pupils, why not substitute the bread with the available yam if we think we have enough yams.

Let us start by targeting African markets, when we improve we can can then look for markets in Europe and America which imposes more stringent conditions on every import that comes into their countries.

That's how APC will be causing problems everywhere,
From Buhari the galavant gallivanting all over,

to the same Buhari not knowing how to address a nation of diverse people,

to the same Buhari turning a blind eye to his brothers' monstrous corruption

to Rochas erecting a useless statue that adds no value, while his workers are being owed

to the economy being thrown and left in shambles.

Now they have carried their incompetence, hypocrisy and destruction to the east in the form of bribing young people to walk for them.

Politics / Re: The Return Of "Glover Hausas" In The Nigerian Army by ratcockoduduwa: 5:12am On Oct 20, 2017
Penalty82:
Onitsha Nigeria: 19th October 2017)-It is sad and shocking that what is called “Nigerian Army” today and its mother “security and defense” establishments are nothing but “resurrected Glover Hausas” of the 19th Century. Recall that in 1863, British Lt Glover of the Royal Navy selected 18 indigenes from the Northern part of the country and organized them into a local force, known as the "Glover Hausas".

The small force was used by Glover as governor of Lagos to mount punitive expedition in the Lagos hinterland and to protect British trade routes around Lagos. In 1865, the "Glover Hausas" became a regular force with the name "Hausa Constabulary" given further birth to what is now called “the Nigeria Police Force”.

As the British malicious trade expeditions and consequent colonialism got expanded by way of conquest of other ethnic nationalities and territories, the names of the indigenous colonial army and policing entities kept changing so as to accommodate and reflect the multiculturalism, multi-ethnicity and multi-religiosity of what is now called “Federation of Nigeria”; a country of over 380 tribes, 400 languages and multi-religious groupings.

Today, the present Nigerian Security and Policing Forces including the Nigerian Army are fully back to their 19th Century period. This has singularly put Christians and other non Muslims at risk especially in Igbo Land and South-south Nigeria. Christian populations in Northeast Nigeria especially in Borno State are almost uprooted and decimated.

Those in their large numbers in Adamawa and Taraba States are totally endangered with their lives and faith hanging at crossroads of uncertainties. Southern Kaduna Christians and those of Benue and Plateau States are not left out. They are killed, persecuted, threatened and traumatized on daily basis with the present central Government and the country’s policing, defense and security establishments doing nothing or appearing to be working hand in glove with the killers and tormentors of Christians and other non Muslims in Nigeria.

For the first time since Nigeria returned to troubled democracy in 1999, the top echelons of its security and policing forces are dangerously in the grip and domination of Northern Muslim officers and ex officers. The present heads of Army, Air Force, Police, SSS, Customs, Immigration, Prisons, NSCDF, etc are all Northern Muslims of Hausa-Fulani extraction.

The Minister of Defense is Northern Muslim; likewise the Minister of Interior, the National Security Adviser and the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and Police (President Muhammadu Buhari). It is also on record since June 2015 that no senior police officer from the Southeast or Igbo Nation-State is among the country’s 24 serving AIGs who are also member of the Nigeria Police Management Team.

Our recent investigation further showed clearly that 95% of commanding officers of all key Army formations in the Southeast are manned by top Northern Muslim officers. The two key formations of the Nigerian Navy in Igbo Land or Southeast Nigeria are also manned by Northern Muslim officers. The killings by the Nigerian Army in three locations: Aba, Isiala-Ngwa and Afara-Ukwu (Ibeku) all in Abia State, of not less than 100 members of the Igbo-Christian civilian population and other non Muslims between 12th and 14th September 2017; are therefore not surprising to us.

Igbo Land or Southeast Nigeria is home to largest Christian population in Africa (with over 50m); seconded only by the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Boko Haram insurgency that devastated Northeast Nigeria since 2009, 1.3m Christians were forced to flee the area to escape being killed, persecuted or forcefully converted to Islam (OpenDoors Report 2015). Apart from not less than 14,000 to 15,000 Christians killed in the Jihadist insurgency between 2009 and 2015, thousands, if not tens of thousands of Christians were also converted to Islam to escape hostile religious killing and persecution.

Over 13,000 churches and 1500 Christian schools were also destroyed in the insurgency. It is credibly estimated that over 4900 civilians who are mostly Christians have been massacred by terrorist Fulani Herdsmen since June 2015 when their grand and life national patron (Retired Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari) returned to power through the troubled poll of 2015.

Most of the killings took place in 2016 especially in Southern Kaduna, Plateau and Benue States (the most populated Christian States in Northern Nigeria). Totality of these explained why the int’l anti Christian persecution watchdog, Open Doors Int’l recently declared Nigeria under Buhari as “the most dangerous place to practice Christian religion in the world”.

The statistical evidence of the 95% dominance of Nigerian Army key formations in Igbo Land or Southeast Nigeria by top Northern Muslim officers is presented as follows:

(1) The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, Major Gen Adamu Baba Abubakar (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(2) The Deputy Army Director of Information of the 82 Division Col Sagir Musa (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(3) Commander of 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Imo State, Brigadier Gen Hamza I. Bature (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(4) Commander of 44 Engineering Brigade, 82 Division Garrison, Brigadier Gen Mark Mamman (Hausa-Fulani)

(5) Commander of Army Transport, 82 Division, Brigadier Gen E. A. Anaryu (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(6) The Brigade Commander of 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier Gen Abdul Kalifah Ibrahim (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(7) The Commander of 13 Brigade, 82 Division, Brigadier Gen Bulama Biu (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(cool The Commander of the 82 Division Provost Group, Col Ahmadu Abubakar (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(9) The Commanding Officer of 14 Field Engineering Regiment, Onitsha, Lt Col Abubakar Saleh (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(10) The Commanding Officer of the Onitsha 302 Artillery Military Police, Lt Col C.O. Ibrahim (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(11) The Commanding Officer of 144 Battalion of the 14 Brigade (Abia), Ukwa West, Lt Col Umar Sidi Kasim (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(12) The Army Public Relations Officer of 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze (Imo), Major Haruna Tagwai (Hausa-Fulani Muslim).

Commanding Officers of the Nigerian Navy in Igbo Land:

(13) The Commander of the Nigerian Navel School of Finance & Logistics, Owerre-Nta, Navy Captain Abdullahi Aminu (Hausa-Fulani Muslim)

(14) The Commander of the Nigerian Naval Outpost, Onitsha (Ogbaru), Navy Captain Mohammed Dahiru (Hausa-Fulani Muslim). More are yet to be named.

TV/Movies / Re: It's Uyo, Not Calabar; Akwa Ibom, Not Cross River - Akwa Ibomites Tell NTA by ratcockoduduwa: 6:18pm On Sep 06, 2017
IbomPR:
On September 1st, 2017, a rather interesting match was played at the Nest of Champions, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions. Fortunately, Nigeria thrashed the Lions with a four goals to nil score line. The country has since been in high spirits. However, the immediate hosts of the match, the good people of Akwa Ibom state, are hurting.

The match, like all events of such magnitude, was reported on National TV. NTA however, had it that the match was played in Calabar, Cross River State – a rather egregious error for a national TV station. And this little mistake is the reason why Akwa Ibomites are hurting: the fact that Uyo was elided for Calabar, or that Uyo was subsumed under Calabar.

This obvious mistake seems quite a trifle for an entire people to pine over, and it’s definitely something that can be overlooked. But it seems that it has become a norm; at least it has become so commonplace as to be carried on national TV! Since Akwa Ibom was created from Cross River state thirty years ago, and given the relative cultural uniformity of both states, it seems that in the minds of people, Akwa Ibom is yet to exist. So, a lot of people just say Calabar (the capital city of Cross River), when they mean to say Uyo (the capital city of Akwa Ibom). An NTA scrollbar advert during yesterday’s news even said that the match was played in Calabar. But IT’S UYO, NOT CALABAR; IT’S AKWA IBOM, NOT CROSS RIVER.

Even though the people of Akwa Ibom very readily identify with those of Cross River, it is outrageous to see Akwa Ibom through the eyes of Cross River, to put it that way. It’s a slight on the pride of Akwa Ibomites as a socio-political unit.

A state that is 30 years old is not a small state. And even if age doesn’t count, solid personal achievements cannot be ignored.
Akwa Ibom has recorded the following achievements and must be given her pride of place amongst other states:

· The 1914 Amalgamation Declaration was done in the present-day Ikot Abasi Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State. Nigeria began to exist as a single, even if incoherent, political entity from Akwa Ibom. We have Sir Fredrick Lord Lugard’s residence here, which should have, by now, become a national tourist attraction.

· The famous women’s riot of 1929 which lead to a micro-war against taxation in the entire south eastern region began in Ikot Abasi. The panel that sat thereafter to investigate the matter only did so in Aba. But till today, that riot is still fallaciously referred to as the Aba Women’s Riot.
· Akwa Ibom produced the first Nigeria Central Bank Governor – Clement ISONG.

· Akwa Ibom produced one of Nigeria’s first legal luminaries – Justice Udo UDOMA, first Chief Justice of Kenya.

· Akwa Ibom produced Nigeria’s first Nigerian WWE Boxing Champion – Samuel OKON Peter.

· Akwa Ibom has produced the likes of INI Edo, IME Bishop, Emem ISONG, etc., who are contributing their quota to make Nigeria a country to reckon with in the global movie sphere.

· Akwa Ibom has one of the first Prelates of the Methodist Church – Bishop Sunday MBANG.

· In literature, Akwa Ibom has produced Uwem AKPAN, Anietie ISONG, etc., whose works have won laurels.

· And to add to all these, Akwa Ibom is also the number one producer of oil in the nation
And, for a lot of those who do not know, the Efik people of Calabar migrated from the now Uruan Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom.

Till today, whenever the Obong of Calabar dies, it is an Uruan man that crowns another. The Efik people as we know them today are ethnic children, more or less, of the Ibibio people of Akwa Ibom state.

The essence of this campaign is not to spread bile between these two sister tribes. It is just to set records straight. Indeed, as it is said, you bale the water while it is still at the knees. If such a scandalizing error can be made on national TV, the water has indeed come to the ankle. Every people have the right to self-assertion. Surely any well-meaning Nigerian can understand that, especially looking at our multi-lingual, multi-ethnic nation.

We want Nigerians and indeed the entire world to know that there is Uyo, just as there is Calabar, and that there is Akwa Ibom, just as there is Cross River. We are Akwa Ibomites, not Cross Riverians, and this needs to register in every mind!

We are of the opinion, that NTA should tender an apology to the Akwa Ibom people and we've gone ahead to create a petition to that regard. Sign the petition here, if you share in our opinion>

Join the campaign: #UyoNotCalabar; #AkwaIbomNotCrossRiver. It might not bother you today, but someday it might.

Op some points you made are full of falsehood.
