PoliticsRe: Grant Qualified Nigerians Citizenship - FG Tells Israel by Rating(m): 9:08am On Feb 12, 2025
Why is FG demanding that another country grants Nigerians citizenship? It's not exactly a privilege or a right in diplomatic affairs. It's left to each country to see how naturalization works for them.

Our politicians sha. Just throwing mud everywhere.
Foreign AffairsRe: White South Africans Clamour For US Resettlement After Trump Order by Rating(m): 9:42am On Feb 11, 2025
Trump has asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to “prioritize humanitarian relief, including admission and resettlement through the United States Refugee Admissions Program, for Afrikaners in South Africa who are victims of unjust racial discrimination.”

There were no details of how the plan would be enacted as Trump halted refugee arrivals immediately after taking office.
Typical of Trump, no thoughts, no plans, no process, no clear strategy. Just banging and raving about to make a point. And since he's put loyalists and sycophants all around him, no one will tell him things need to be thought through to a proper end.
Foreign AffairsRe: 10 Most Powerful Nations In The World 2025 ( Pics) by Rating(m): 9:38am On Feb 11, 2025
As expected.

Political power and leadership for China and Russia seems to be hanging on individuals. They have both held strong and increased in different capacities for about 2 decades. China's own is a bit better than Russia's because there is some hope for the CCP and their succession plans.

Other countries on the list still have the privilege of strong systems, not reliant on "one macho man". Maybe Trump can mess that up for the US in this his 4-year term, hopefully not.

PoliticsRe: NNPCL Under Pressure To Reduce Petrol Price Amid Rivalry With Dangote Refinery by Rating(m): 9:34am On Feb 11, 2025
Gillis-Harry said that “NNPC has no choice but to reduce petrol retail prices because it is not possible to see a product at a cheaper price and still go for NNPCL.”

PoliticsRe: FG Hikes Private Universities' Application Fees From ₦‎6 To ₦‎30 Million by Rating(m): 9:33am On Feb 11, 2025
No doubt, private universities are very plenty in this country and this policy just seems to reduce their spread and as per usual, for the FG to make more money.
CrimeRe: Uber Driver Killed, Body Dumped On Lagos Road by Rating(m): 9:31am On Feb 11, 2025

PoliticsRe: Trump VS SA: Zuma's Party Opens Treason Case Against Afrikaner Lobby Group by Rating(m): 9:29am On Feb 11, 2025
South Africa, land of the apartheid just some decades ago, gradually turning to the same despicable policies, just some few years later. This cannot foster development.

Peace and harmony are key prerequisites to development.
TravelRe: 1 Dead After Jet Hits Plane Parked Near Scottsdale Airport In Arizona by Rating(m): 9:25am On Feb 11, 2025
Hopefully, Trump's team will handle these situations quickly. Too many crashes and deadly mishaps (especially for commercial planes) just within the last 3 weeks of his administration. It's unfortunate.

But you can't come in guns blazing with layoffs, sacks, threats and still expect a system to function optimally.
PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu Is Arrogant,’ Bashir Ahmad Slams IPOB Leader For ‘yelling’ At Lawyer by Rating(m): 9:21am On Feb 11, 2025
That court display between NK and his lawyers was unnecessary. You can't win in the court of public opinion like this.

PoliticsRe: Ten Years Of APC In One Picture by Rating(m): 10:59am On Feb 10, 2025
Sad though but the matter is very complex.

And even in the complexity, APC has the largest blame.
PoliticsRe: ''Abuja Bus Terminal Projects Make Us Eat Well'' - Youths by Rating(m): 10:58am On Feb 10, 2025
Infrastructure projects are all well and good for employment. The question continues to be, what happens after the project is concluded?

The University of Calabar Graduate of Biological sciences, explained why the harsh effects of President Tinubu’s reforms won't be a clog in the wheel of his re-election in 2027 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Somehow politics is involved. Next...
CrimeRe: FCT Police Recover Electric Cables, Others From Vandals (Photos) by Rating(m): 10:51am On Feb 10, 2025
Really quick response and good job from the FCT Police. The vandals should be prosecuted to discourage others nursing such ambition.

PoliticsRe: Northern Ministers Get Marching Orders To Defend President As Opposition Grows by Rating(m): 10:49am On Feb 10, 2025
Criticisms are necessary if we want to continue to have a democracy. The country can't afford not to have dissenting voices. It's particularly interesting that these dissenting voices are from the President's party. It's good and necessary for development.

But the criticisms must be done on policy issues and without insults and name-calling. It must be done in the best interest of the people and the country.

It's equally important that the response/rebuttal from elected and appointed officials in the government must be devoid of pettiness and silliness. We should not allow hateful rhetorics to be the order of the day if we want to continue to live in peace.
PoliticsRe: Fayemi: Tinubu Means Well For Nigeria But Good Intentions Are Not Enough by Rating(m): 2:18pm On Feb 08, 2025
“Clearly, we must apologise to the Nigerian people. We have not succeeded in achieving everything we promised the Nigerian people, but that was not just because we were incompetent but because there were other structural impediments that have made things more difficult for us,”
Good you know that you have not succeeded in your promises. But those structural impediments are things you should have known cos it was your party that was there for the past 8 years.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Your National Secretary? – Akpabio Ask Minority Leader Abba Moro (Video) by Rating(m): 9:52am On Feb 06, 2025
This is what we're doing now Honorable Senate President, in a parliamentary session. Vibes and Inshallah. Pathetic!
PoliticsRe: Low Salaries Push Workers Into Corruption – ICPC by Rating(m): 9:49am On Feb 06, 2025
This is not new. And we all know it's not new.

And it's not just low salary. It's low salary in the midst of plenty. Outrageous display of wealth by elected officials and even career government workers is bound to cause and encourage corruption.
TravelRe: Japan Airlines Plane Collided With Parked Delta Jet At Seattle Airport (Video) by Rating(m): 9:47am On Feb 06, 2025

HealthRe: Pregnant Woman Dies As Doctor Watches Youtube Video To Perform Surgery In Imo by Rating(m): 9:46am On Feb 06, 2025
This is unfortunate though. May their souls RIP.

I feel for those Doctors. On one hand, they want to help. On the other, it seems they were not capable enough.
PoliticsRe: Edo Governor’s Power Play: Disrespecting The Oba, Silencing Critics - Omorodion by Rating(m): 9:32am On Feb 06, 2025
The final straw was a lawsuit, allegedly filed by Speaker Blessing Agbebaku against ousted local government chairmen, which Agbebaku publicly disavowed. The debacle left Okpebholo searching for a scapegoat, with Osagie—an inconveniently principled critic—taking the fall.
The Governor was desperate and seem to have made a serious miscalculation. Let's see how the Oba of Benin will respond.

CrimeRe: Two Killed, Others Injured As Gunmen Attack Lagos Community by Rating(m): 9:28am On Feb 06, 2025

When evil is not quickly dealt with, it just leads to more havoc.
PhonesRe: Tiktok Is Back In The US by Rating(m): 10:20pm On Jan 20, 2025
Waiting on the drama to ensue.

Funny thing is that Trump wanted to ban this same app back in 2020 or so. In fact, I dare say it was his push that led to this whole drama. So he's not actually "saving" TikTok. I believe Shou Zi and his team should know better.
PoliticsRe: Hardship: 70 Million Nigerians To Get ₦‎75,000 Each by Rating(m): 10:18pm On Jan 20, 2025
Comments here alone show the level of distrust people already have for the government.
PoliticsRe: NLC Faults Fresh Petrol Price Hike, Says FG Insensitive by Rating(m): 10:15pm On Jan 20, 2025
Godjone:
You said refinery will start working and when that is achieved, the price of PMS will drop significantly. Today, two of the refinery are already active but the prices keep souring higher.
It's better they stop making promises but no, lies upon lies. And when asked to explain, more lies.
PhonesRe: Tariff Hike: Telcom Subscribers Reject Minister’s 60% Proposal by Rating(m): 10:10pm On Jan 20, 2025
NCC is more than able to manage this. There should be no increase in price, not at this time. It's very insensitive.

Question is: are they willing to?
PoliticsRe: Increase In Pump Price Not From Us ― Dangote by Rating(m): 10:09pm On Jan 20, 2025
Richtaiwo:
NNPC is shameless.

A govt funded cooperation getting worked up over a privately owned company for pecuniary purpose and by extension constituting a nuisance to Nigerians' expectations of reduction in fuel pump prices.

I'm not even much bothered about the private marketers' desperation because as it is now, it is everyone to himself. No one gives a damn about others any longer. It takes only a willing govt to bring their excesses under control. But the govt is obviously not ready for that.
That's the unfortunate reality.
