Actual news is no longer reported. Just sensationalism and propaganda. How this news should have been reported: - what was returned? - who returned it? - how was it negotiated? - were there conditions? Just basic points and we all move on. If there are more questions, don't jump to conclusion as a reporter. Leave that to the gossip mill. |
It's not too long that the project was implemented, maybe we give it some time. But I definitely understand that everything in Nigeria is treated with high skepticism. E-surveillance covering over 5,000km is no joke, and until strong political will supports resources, it will be difficult to reduce the flow of bad actors, especially through the Northern border. Ask the US and their Southern neighbor. |
It is widely believed that corruption, harsh economic policies and arrogance towards the plight of the people are the key reasons that led to the ruling party’s loss.As long as a large group of people in key parts of the country are benefitting from this present administration, they will push a good number of the electorates to continue to deliver the votes. |
What's the collateral for these loans? At what rate? How are they to be repaid? Why is that never made public? Or are the details in the Appropriation bill? |
Namaster:Very sad indeed. |
GistMedia0:It has been signed since mid-2024, so when will it be implemented? |
Reno made some valid points in this interview, but I would have expected that he would touch on corruption. Cos as good as policymakers are painting the key actions of Tinubu, which is removing subsidy and floating the naira, it has negatively affected the masses, and the cushion by the government is not enough. Politicians need to cut down on their excesses, so that everywhere is calm to see these policies yield good results. And not more borrowing. |
For those who don't know before, use this information before it's too late. For those who knew this before, a reminder is necessary. Be guided. |
If they don't hold them, the same people they were trying to help will crucify them. In any case, some people need to face the law on the issue, no matter how little. |
Oga Dalung, say your mind (be respectful though). Sebi you were in one admin like that? How different is your opinion within that period? |
Why foreigners every time though? Why don't we give our own coaches good time and resources with realistic targets to deliver results? Seems we're asking too much... |
Security operatives are stretched thin but this particular Bello guy looks like he's in cahoots with top officials who are not done with him. Cos he's doing as if he literally owns that Sokoto-Gusau corridor. And that's a lot of territory. Hopefully, his dominance and network is cut short swiftly. |
zero8zero:This is good BUT is this part of funds freed from the subsidy removal? Doubt it. |
Good2go1:Well said. It's difficult to believe that the tax bill is for the nation's interest, just as it's looking that subsidy is affecting livelihoods more than most envisaged. |
More success for the Nigerian military to level these terrorists and put them out of this evil business. |
That's why it's good to be measured when doing opposition - online or offline, no matter the provocation. And it's not because of public dragging. Just common sense to do better as humans. |
kings59:Spot on assessment. |
Thank God for you o Arakunrin Segun. Mercy has been shown to you. Things will fall into place for you. |
PressMyButton:Was this enough reason for History to be removed from the BE curriculum? Hopefully, it's not too late 'cos as George Santayana aptly said, "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." |
Uncle Jona looking fresh from the stress of Aso Rock. Way to go man! But wait, can someone be too good to lead Nigeria? |
Here is hoping that OGERC is not heavily indebted. |
See Saudi investing their oil money abroad and Nigeria? It's well. But again, attracting investments has never been the problem in Nigeria. How do we make the most of it such that the country is better for all, not just for a few that will loot things? That's the real question. |
Just a few days ago, he was warning the "herdsmen" that wrecked havoc in his state... |
I thought Manchester was red for a while. What's all these beatings left and right? Man U fans, it's well! Darkest before the dawn kinda things. |
Why is this a necessity? This is a clear distraction from serious issues. The same way some at the Federal level thought changing the national anthem is of paramount importance. That's clearly putting the cart before the horse. How can the world take this country serious? (Of course, just for our oil) |
Morbeta11:But why is the North angry with this Tax bill? Have they not been making mouth in previous administrations? |
Good one Air Peace. That's how it's done. Respond with courtesy in public. Deal with yourselves in private. |
You will read story in Nigeria and you will just be angry. It just looks like they want to make an example of her. Cos if she's not detained, it's the same people that will cry why is she not in jail bla bla bla. And again, it's her event, so someone should take some responsibility. |
Just want to drop my 2 cents on IELTS and CELPIP. More and more people are finding IELTS challenging to max and I'm not sure why. Some are saying CELPIP is better. Everyone is sharing their opinion but at the end, we all must choose. My summary is that preparation for these exams involve understanding not just grammar and use of words but what's expected of you to be graded high (CLB 10) in these exams. For example, in the listening and reading sections of both IELTS and CELPIP, expect to understand the summary of the topic and the meaning of words and issues. They are big on paraphrasing for the Q&A. In the Writing sections, expect to put your thoughts across in clear paragraphs with a good use of sentence structures as applicable to writing emails and opinions. In the Speaking sections, there are some variations with the questions, but the key is being able to convey your opinion with some related points with examples and less word repetitions. In my opinion, the idea that you're speaking to a human interviewer in IELTS can make it more challenging than speaking to a computer. Others might not feel the same. But different strokes for different folks. Again, the most important thing is to understand the structure of each exam and what's expected to get a highly desired grade in each of the sections, especially writing and speaking. Reading and Listening is all about practicing multiple past questions and finishing within the allotted time. IELTS: - multiple centers in Nigeria, - multiple time options - 2 seatings (3 sections in one sitting and the speaking section in another sitting, possible on the same day). - mixture of language and accents - a little more expensive when compared to CELPIP (266k vs 220k) - multiple payment options - result out within 5-7 days. CELPIP - only one center in Nigeria, and it's in VI, Lagos. - time options are highly limited (since it's only one location) - one seating for the 4 sections of the exam - Canadian accent all through the listening section - payment options are limited. - result out within 2-3 days Choose carefully but most importantly, prepare well. P.S: Your Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) is NOT the average of your scores across Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking sections but the LOWEST of your scores in any of the sections. That means R7 W6.5 L7.5 S7.5 for IELTS is a CLB8 or R10 W7 L10 S9 from CELPIP is a CLB7. This applies to TEF and TCF results as well. P.P.S: If you do not max your primary language scores (CLB9+) and you already have or planning to get 2 degrees/Masters/PhD, it won't matter much as you won't get the desired extra 50 points in the Skills transferability section. |
Will rice now sell for 30k after a while? |
This herdsmen issue should have become a thing of the past except some other folks are now claiming herdsmen. The country can not be expending resources without tangible results. |
femisplash:This is a very good response from the NSA and that particular Nigerian policy "of no foreign base in-country" has been so for years, through military and democratic governments. France has always been moving visibly shady with their colonized countries since the "end of colonization". |
