SaintUlot:Hilarious points all over. But this point 4 get as e be, even the "developed" world have developed world problems, so God is still needed. Don't get it twisted biko. |
slydog:Congratulations! Those Ontario folks are not smiling at all when they move inland. |
Daniel4139:Omo, agents always doing the most. |
lextube:Pardon me o, but this sounds like the typical corner-corner way. Lol! |
ogbevireo:50-50 is a good percentage. I'd say though that if you believe in your earning capacity, you can use the loan to apply and get into the country, settle down, and then pay it back quick enough (so you can minimize your financial exposure in a foreign country). Hopefully, the early repayment won't attract premium charges. |
philipcox:What ever you do, avoid Lufthansa for now. |
Regardless of these numbers, let's not forget that Nigeria is a country of over 200 million people. By the time you compare the numbers (even with application to other countries), you will know that the whole Japa thing is not as big as the media paints it. |
Awesomeosas:From the email you received, "Our records indicate a decision has been made on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application... If your visa has been granted, a visa vignette (sticker) will be stuck inside your passport with 3 months validity..." Take it as if it's not approved yet. |
The simple truth is that a lot of people do not do their research. Just basic research. They think giving money to someone else (who seems to know better) will make it all work out. SCAM! At least do your research first. Look before you leap. Then determine if it's worth the leap. |

Why blame Japa? There is a reason for Japa and it's the Nigerian system, particularly the political system that has not provided an enabling environment. |
Nice stuff. While considering these universities and their acceptance rate for international students, it's important to also look at the jobs in demands to choose viable programs. According to the Australian Government, these are the top jobs in demands: - Construction Managers - Civil Engineers - Early Childhood Teachers - Registered Nurses - ICT Business & Systems Analyst - Softwares and Application Programmers - Electricians - Chefs - Childcare Workers - Aged & Disabled Care Workers Picking the right program and university will accelerate your overall success. |
We should not be surprised. When evil goes unpunished, people see it and their hearts are set for more evil. |
We4all:That some employers still do this wait-forever-for-interview practice is ridiculous. In this age and time? Rubbish. |
Debt is not supposed to be a problem but with the Nigerian (political) culture, debt is a burden. And it affects how we are able to command attention in the global community as there is nothing significant to show for the debt. This country needs some hard reset. |
May the Lord help him and prove the ministry he has been called into. |
What a pity! Desperation without a reasonable plan yields no good result. |
Learn digital skills and start small. The Google Digital Skills Garage is a great option. Start here - https://grow.google/intl/ssa-en/courses-and-tools/ Too many legitimate opportunities online but only for those willing to put in the work. 'Japa' better be a long-term plan 'cos you need time to: - learn a skill - practice the skill - exchange the skill for money - build a portfolio - build and nurture a network WHY DIGITAL SKILLS? 1) You earn FX in Nigeria, 2) 'Cos it will be more useful when you finally 'Japa'. Get-rich-quick scheme will land you in worse troubles. Avoid it like a plague. God's blessings! |
Englishisamust:Valid point. Ontario and BC are 2 crazily expensive provinces. Major cities in other provinces (Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon) are not that terrible when you compare salaries and cost of living. I also think Nigerians typically run away from non-speaking countries though. |
Aunty giving advice without proper context. Abeg, let everyone do what's best for themselves. Just do your research. |
"Marriage is a beautiful thing. let's stop making it look scary and undesirable with our myopic approach. Do it when the time is right not for public commendation or validation cos when you start facing the heat, non of those people cheering you on will come and help you." No truer words have been said on this topic. |
The developed countries (esp UK and Canada and Australia) are not stupid. They will do what's in their best interest always. They have aging population, so this is not a final word on the matter. Soon, they will adjust again as necessary. The smart thing will be for individuals to see how to make the most of the opportunity as it presents itself. |
Congratulations! |
I hope this does not fail after Udom's tenure. They can take some useful lessons from UAE and Singapore how they have been successful at state-owned enterprises. |
Loved this. May this child grow to know and love the Lord! |
Life throws different things at us on a daily basis but our response is what will determine our results. It was just yesterday I saw the story of a guy that from being a cleaner in Canada, he became the CEO of 2 companies, all within 5 years. Read his story here. Missisauga is one of the most expensive cities in Canada. Why are they doing this to themselves? |
This credential verification is very tricky. We had a recent situation (with WES) in June of this year and this was how it panned out: 1. Since WES was a requirement for admission, there were no alternatives. Registration was done on WES, with all the necessary details but payment was not made. 2. ETX,ng was contacted to get the process done and it was discovered that if you ask ETX to contact your Nigerian school, you're on a long thing. It's better you contact your school yourself, pay the necessary fees and give them ETX details. So, register your details on ETX and then get the codes and give it your school. 3. Depending on how long it takes for your school to process the transcript (federal and state schools take between 2-4 weeks), once ETX receives your transcript directly from the school through that secure channel, they will send to WES within 24-48 hours. 4. Once ETX confirmed that they have sent it. We followed up with WES to be sure they received it and the details are intact. We paid WES (using an international card to bypass all that Naija banks wahala). This is WES on Facebook (https://web.facebook.com/WorldEducationServices). They are pretty quick in their DMs and Contact option on their website (wes.org). Now pray to God that WES do not do a wrong evaluation. Also check out ETX.ng. They respond to Emails faster than DMs. Both organizations have not-so-good reviews online (as there are lots of issues with their processes, but with God, patience and some smarts, you can navigate through. |
CoronaVirusPro:Interesting image you put up there, showing "Palestine" as a country covering the current state of Israel. I have a few questions if you can: 1) Why not show the current map from 1948? 2) Or why not show the map as far back as the first century CE? 3) Why not dig through the archives and see the extent of when "Palestine" was ever mentioned as an independent entity. It's fine to hate Israel, but at least history is there for all to see. I feel for Gazans (and the West Bank regions) but when their leaders are so bothered about defeating Israel than leading their people to success, this war is the kind of result they get. |
Mine is one of a kind. No stories. No hassles. Casual greetings from time to time. I do my part and she does hers and keep to themselves. |
