Car Talk › Re: Pls I Need Ur Advise Regarding Nissan Xterra Niaja Used by ray48: 9:31am On Nov 01, 2015 |
Don't entertain any fear. It's a rock solid car and very economical. I bought mine since 2010 & it's still on the move. The parts are also cheap enough. My friend just changed his engine and gear after 7 years of usage. He bought the tokunbo Engine and Gear for less than N200,000. If you are looking at functionality, performance and an SUV that 'll not create a deep hole in your pocket, then go for it. |

I 'll not advise you to go for it. First is that you 'll certainly not see the body parts here. Even the parts of the Mitsubishi engine mounted on it might not be compatible with the ones here locally. Also it will certainly have a very low second hand value. |

Webmasters › Re: The Falling Naira Against The Dollar And How It Will Affect Nigerian Bloggers by ray48: 5:06pm On Jul 17, 2015 |
luigiajah: The naira is quickly falling and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. Our President , Muhammadu Buhari isn't making issues better. As It stands he sacked the NNPC Board of Directors And He is yet to appoint a Minister Of Petroleum Resources. We all know that Nigeria's main source of income is from Crude Oil. Buhari promised to make $1 = N1 , yet we are seeing something worse than we expected, The fact that The APC accused the former president Goodluck Jonathan and Dieziani Allison Madueke (The previous Minister Of Petroleum Resources under the Goodluck Jonathan Administration) for being the cause of the fall of the Naira. You ve cheapened the content of ur article by going into partisan politics. Besides Pres Buhari never promised to make one dollar to equal one Naira.
Every Nigerian can testify that the Naira has dropped more than 3 times since Mr Buhari came into power. Coming to the blogosphere, Almost all transactions bloggers make online are done in dollars. A .com domain name on GODADDY costs around $9.99 which was previously around N1798 when a dollar was equal to N180 now it costs N2417 (an addition of N619). However, Bloggers can escape this by using coupons. You can check for godaddy coupons on google or here on my blog. Coupons would reduce the cost of the domain. A $0.99 coupon can get you a domain for N239.
Webmasters And Bloggers Using Google's Blogger are safe since Google hosts their blogs free of charge. However our counterparts on Wordpress and Other self hosted platforms would face something quite different. Yearly hosting On GODADDY costs around $46 which is an equivalent of N11,132 (previously Around N9000). The falling dollar poses a huge threat to webmasters,
However, For those who have Google Adsense On Their Blogs, They are safe if they keep having a high CPC ( cost per click) . Their earnings would keep them safe till the fall of the naira affects the price of goods,
High earning/spending bloggers who are also running ads on Facebook would be forced to reduce their ad budgets, Adwords Advertisers are not left out as well.
Many bloggers would be forced to remain on a sub domain , which is not good for many of us, Only Linda Ikeji has survived with a sub domain. However any blogger on a sub domain is never respected.
Domain names command authority and the fall of the naira will certainly affect us.

Car Talk › Re: Mechanics And The Pranks They Play On Car Owners. Share Your Experience by ray48: 12:50pm On Jun 19, 2015 |
adonbilivit: my mechanic did something that got me upset last week so i thought i should share it with you all. i travelled to Abuja and while driving around the city, my car developed a fault. i took it to a nearby mechanic workshop where it got fixed. the bearing of my car was changed!...now here is the bombshell...when i got back to where i reside, lagos, i decided to take my car to my personal mechanic for servicing. i left the car at his workshop for a whole day. the next day when i came to get my car he told me my bearing(the same bearing i just bought) are worn out and needs to be replaced. i doubted it knowing i just changed it of recent, so i asked him to bring it so i could see for my self...lo and behold, it was a different bearing entirely he showed me. i know this cos i know the brand i bought in Abuja and it is definitely not it...so i just played along. i asked him how much a new one costs, he told me. i gave him the money but i also instructed him to let me see it before installing it. later, when i came back, he brought it to me. i checked it and discovered it was the same bearing i bought in Abuja. i asked him to bring the pack and nylon, he said he had disposed them....i laughed at his folly.he coupled my car and i left. I don't think u acted wisely by laughing it off and creating a hole in ur pocket. I think u should have scolded him and make it clear to him dat he is a cheat. The advantage of that is dat he will not try it with another person and even if u go to him again will not try that pranks with u. |
