We expect people that are experts to comment here and not learners whose driver's licence was brought to them at home.

I have lots of female friends that handle cars greatly at very high speed.

Powerful engines are not just shoes or shirt to look at. If you can't utilise why buy them?

Pls don't do this. U re risking ur Life

Got a car with the mileage of 102 plus in the dashboard. When I checked d VIN history, I realized dat d mileage was 234plus before it was shipped to Nigeria. I asked d dealer and he told me they didn’t adjust d mileage here. I don’t know what to believe again.

Too many loose ends in the story. Why did she go alone to another mans house? Why didn't she notice that the house was deserted before getting to d door of his room? When she noticed the first time dat Basey spoke to his brother in another language, why didn't it trigger her suspicion? How easy was it for Bassey's brother to push her into the room if she was unwilling to enter? How easy was it for only Bassey to rape her without her consent? So many How's & Why's.

Car Talk / Re: Axle Oil For Toyota Camry 2001 Model by ray48: 10:04pm On Aug 29, 2017
Those people just fleeced u. Axle oil is only used for a 4*4 SUV which uses a front and a back axle. It is also used for older model saloon cars that come with a back axle. Your car is a front wheel drive and does not require axle oil.

It's not worth it. U ll regret it after doing it. D car will loose Power & will not perform optimally. Just sell it as it is & go for a smaller car. But I really wonder if it's consuming fuel d way u portray it. It's a 3.0 liter engine & generally doesn't guzzle fuel like that.

Golda Osuigwe nee Oguno, you graduated from UNEC because of Paul. Paul lost one academic year at school basically because of you. He ensured you left law school. Is it surprising that you are at sea in solving your problem when you ought to be advising others.
But for the brief period that he stayed in your parent's house after his youth service, Paul has carried you and your family.
Did you say your school, where have you worked before to earn money to build a school?
Your school mates and class mates are watching you.
Who doesn't know your escapades in UNEC and even in your matrimonial home.
But our kind of journalism will not allow the truth to come out. Wonder what you passed to the vulnerable young man

Business / Re: Lady Loses N5million She Was Paid After Losing Job To Church Micro-finance Bank by ray48: 10:27pm On Aug 22, 2017
LUGBE:
Suisse Microfinance Bank Of Christ Embassy Church Fraud by Noahk15: 11:24am On Feb 17
The Suisse microfinance Bank is owned by Christ Embassy Church a.k.a Believers Loveworld, the bank is located at Gacoun Plaza, 23 Road Festac Town Lagos . It is among the fleets of banks owned by the church, which also owned Parallex microfinance Bank and Refuge Home Savings. The Suisse MFB is run and manage by Pastor Ayodele Olusola who is the MD/CEO of the bank and members of the board of directors are senior pastors in the church including Pastor Lanre Alabi, Tokubo Odimayo, Adebisi Sogunle, Tim Onebamo. Pastor Ayodele Olusola is the pastor of Christ Embassy Church Mafoluku Oshodi Lagos. Ayodele Olusola has runned the bank as a personal business throwing all the ethics and rules of running microfinance Bank to the wind. He recruited people who are members of the church as marketers to collect money from people on daily basis as savings. The marketers usually go about with savings cards, the first one thousand naira you save with them belongs to the bank and at the end of the month the bank will deduct another one thousand naira for helping you to save. The Suisse MFB also have big savers who have their millions as investment in the bank. They collected Millions of naira from these set of people as investment with the promise of paying interest on it. Now the bank has runned into deep financial mess and the bank can not pay the poor savers and the big savers who have their Millions with them. The estimation of the money the bank owned people is over 200 Million. The bank locked their premises on 16th of December and went hiding, all of a sudden resurface first week of February and paid few small savers less than two million and again have gone into hiding. And the church being money minded church is unwilling to rescue the situation. I guess pastor Chris Oyakhilomen must be aware of this situation as The Nation newspaper carried it on the 28 of January as http://thenationonlineng.net/were-finished/ . This shows the church does not practice what they preach and is only after people money. And there is an allegations that Pastor Ayodele Olusola might used the money for Ponzi Scheme as he can not disclose what he actually used the money for. This is a big criminal offence which the government should look into.

Car Talk / Re: 2003 Toyota Camry From Canada by ray48: 10:29pm On Aug 20, 2017
U can bring it in. Most of the 2003 model brought into Nigeria have similar or even higher miieages. They only adjust the miieages to read something lower. And most of them are performing very well. A friend bought a 2002 model with a mileage of 110,000. He later checked d VIN details and found out that the actual mileage was 220,000. Meaning that it was tampered with. But the car has been performing excellently well with no issues at all.

Don't be deterred in helping others in the future. God in his infinite mercy will reward you. He has only succeeded in bringing curse to himself. He has lost that trust from u , ur family members, friends etc. That money will not last for him neither will it be useful for him. Just forget about it and move on. Very soon, u ll hear dat he is jumping from one church to the other looking for solution to a self inflicted problem.

Did u buy it fairly used or toks? Even if u confirm dat it's a fraud, will u return it? Next time conduct ur due diligence b4 committing ur funds. Just relax & enjoy ur car. I ve seen EOD model with 4 cylinders & it's physically similar to the engine in CRV. I think some carry similar engine depending on the country of origin. I guess they are interchangeable. I don't think there's any problem. Relax

Good day and happy Sunday to everybody. Please I need your sincere advice on the choice I should make among these cars:
Toyota Highlander
Toyota RAV4
Honda Pilot
Toyota Matrix
I need a car (suv) that has a low maintenance cost, and low fuel consumption. I want to buy an SUV for the first time, please give me advise.
Thanks.
Toyota Matrix is not SUV. It is a Corrola car. The Matrix will give u the best value in terms of fuel consumption. Maintenance of Highlander & RAV 4 are almost the same depending on the models and engine capacity.
If fuel is the major issue, then go for Matrix.
Personally speaking, my last option will be Honda Pilot.
Car Talk / Re: What Is The Worst Or Best Thing/s Your Mechanic Has Ever Done To You Or Your Car by ray48: 5:36pm On Aug 12, 2017
I have a friend who many years ago had a VW Golf with 1.8litres engine capacity. He also had a mechanic who he trusted for years. Along the line, the car had engine problem & required Change. He gave money to this mechanic to buy d exact engine. This mechanic went & fraudulently bought 1.6 litres engine & mounted it on the car without full disclosure to my friend. My friend started driving it but noticed that the car was not picking speed again alongside other issues. But the mechanic explained it away & my friend overlooked it cos of the relationship. Still d mechanic didn't tell him he bought a smaller engine. Many months later, d car had issue & incidentally that mechanic travelled. He then took the car to another mechanic & after hearing his long list of complaints & inspection of d car told him dat the engine bought by the mechanic is 1.6 litres and not 1.8 litres.

Engrmathews:

Hello,

Please i need a good hand to help check and put my Toyota Camry tinylight in good shape. It consumes fuel alot about 50km/10litres. It has a mileage of 186,400. AC not cooling after before and some little little stuffs.

The person should be stay around Obanikoro/Gbagada or Iju-Ishaga/Ogba axis for ease of connection.

Thanks

What was the fuel consumption rate before? Is 50km/10ltrs very excessive for a 2.2 or 2.0 litre Engine car?. Anyway, let gurus in the house advise on that. And what are u looking at as the optimal fuel consumption rate?

Am also on search

I have been offered Acura MDX 2002
Rav 4
And exterra

Don't know which of them will be okay for say to day activities

Since u re talking of using it for day to day activities, I ll recommend either the Rav 4 or the Xterra.
U ve to confirm if d Rav 4 is 4*4 as many are not. If not, then it's not SUV. Also consider fuel consumption as d Rav 4 most likely is 4 plugs whereas d Xterra is most likely 6 plugs. Pls note that most of ur recurrent expenditure on the vehicle will be on fuel consumption. Both are very good vehicles dat will serve u if well handled. Good luck

SmartchoicesNG:

Timing belt does it spend up to 6 months?
What components fail in the ignition?

The timing belt from my own experience lasts for an average of two years or so.
The ignition that fails is is the round black component in the engine where all the plug wires meet. I guess it's called the ignition cos that's what the mechanics made me to believe it is.
Car Talk / Re: How Reliable Are Nissan Pathfinder Vehicles? by ray48: 2:38pm On Aug 05, 2017
Nissan Pathfinder 1999 model with 3.3 litre engine is a wonderful car & hardly gives issues. It uses the same engine with Nissan Xterra 2002 & 2003 model. The only issue is the fuel consumption which is expected of a V6 Engine. Another common problem I noticed in the 3.3 litres engine is the timing belt which doesn't last very very long before it cuts. Also the ignition can fail without notice thereby leaving u stranded. These issues were also confirmed by some mechanics as well as some other users of the 3.3 litres Engine.
But apart from the above, they are Good to Go.
