Good morning nairaland, please i want to start my building project and first i will like to ask how many plots of land will i need to start a 2 storey building and also for 3 storey building. I also need your advice on whether to build the storey building then rent it out and still be squatting with my people or i should build my own personal small house then start from there cos i feel the formal may take much time and cripple my financially while the latter i may squander it all in the process of making it look like my dream house coz i may not settle for less becoz of my ego and pride

Answer to your first question.

1plot of land would be enough.
For a 2storey building or 3storey building. The building size(length & width) determines the size of land required.

I would advise you build a mixed use development , your own personal apartment in front and tenants at the back.

You can do 4bedroom duplex in front and 2bedroom flats (upstairs)at the back for rent.

I received this quotation for german floor for the above project

200 bags of cement = 530k
40 tones of Sand= 90k
1 trailer of granite= 170k
Workmanship = 150k

DPC actually not an alternative to german floor. It's actually one of the stages that make up a foundation. According to standard, after DPC german floor is next.

German floor is necessary and should be done once funds are available, it prevents dampness, cracks on the wall that appear as a result of settlements, Scorpions and another insects.

Technical term is oversite concrete.
DPC - means damp proof course- it's at this course ,that damproof membrane(nylon ) is laid.

I want to know how much it will cost me to build 2 storey with 6 flats of 3 bedrooms. I need a break down from foundational level, first floor before supper structure, first decking cost up to the roofing. It's going to be house that I will be staying in the first floor while the rest flats will be giving out for rent. The land is about one and half plot.
