When last did you update your BIOS?

First of all, trying all driver pack isn't the way out of this problem.
Put the following into consideration:

1. Dell Inspironn n5110 is designed to work well with windows 7. I've not seen a system that's this selective in terms of OS. So if you have win 10 installed, you should consider win8 or win 7.


2. Dell Inspiron n5110 ,core it version(which is yours ) uses a NVIDIA GeForce. So , chances are in the process of...well..."trying everything" nothing was actually sitted well so nothing worked!!

3. In view of No. 2 above, you must uninstall every graphics driver you ever installed. This will mean performing a system restore.

4. Head over to drp.su/en. Once on that site, you're to download a tiny program that'll look into your entire system for missing drivers. Once you run the program, select expert mode. So you choose only he NVIDIA driver.

5. Now that there are no graphics drivers installed , it's time to check the BIOS. Once you're in the BIOS, look out for stuff like "graphics memory" or a similar variant. The graphics may have been switched. Although this is highly unlikely.

i tried installation from internet it went blank... I tried all types of graphics adapter.. Nivedia intel Amd still not working... I even bought a driver cd yet the same thing... It goes blank... Then i have to go to safe mode to uninstall the driver... The laptop only works with Microsoft basic adapter

Yeah, I just gave a recommendation. You can play in low settings but it's no guarantee you'll enjoy the game due to frequent lag.

Also if your PC was supposed to last for a 2 yrs, be prepared to ditch it in about a year and half.

Well., if it runs an atom processor (The lowest in the league of intel processors) then it's a bad Idea!!!

If you are running a celeron processor, play in low settings and never update to PES 2011 or higher.

How does one know for sure that his system has been compromised?

Lately my system has been overworking, overheating as if too many processes are simultaneously running. That is even when I'm only surfing the net and probably using notepad.

The fan keeps humming away, Windows Script Host is disabled, the keyboard seizes and a host of other issues.

Any pointers to what may be wrong? Because I suspect coin miners may have gained access to it

You'll definitely pick up something...If there is visible evidence that processes are running, chances are that your antivirus or firewall was not up to the task... So you'll have to uninstall it and install a new one. Then Scan your PC.

This will be a total clean up of your hard drive.
Remember, your antivirus can only do so much in terms of protection let alone dealing with the malware it self.

Now you'll back your files in a safe external disk (If you can live without those files, then fine)

The re-install the OS freshly by wiping all partitions first.

After you're done installing the OS, Install antivirus(preferably a paid version), then run the antivirus program before inserting the storage where you copied your files into. Now you move your files.

Please someone should help me out,my Lenovo ThinkPad X240 fell from a table in the office and will not display after booting which made me to take it to a repairer. After diagnosing it was discovered that the HDD is damaged and it was changed to another of 250G from a 320.
Now,the problem after installing windows 10 it will take a longer time to booth and the screen's brightness is so sharp that it can damage one's sight in a matter of weeks. I have tried every possible know in the settings menu to reduce it but to no success and the F5 and F6 buttons works by showing it decreasing or increasing but it has no effect on the brightness.

You need to install the required display drivers before you're able to adjust brightness.

If possible, you should go back to where you changed the hard disk. they should be able to help.

Upgrade your ram, total available RAM is too low.

That's where the Issue is . Y'know, D420 is a lower series to D620. So the physical memory it can accommodate is really small hence the low available memory...

So, your best bet is to get another PC. Adding 1gb memory for to another 1gb could make the PC not to even come up... there's a possibility OP must have tried this...

Before I go ahead with my suggestions, chances are

1 . You've tried the "turn on metred connection" and you probably didn't find it... ;DNo! I'm so sure you didn't find it

2. You've also "disabled" auto-updates. Why is the word, disabled in quotes? Because that main download still goes on in win 10.

You're going to try one last thing- [b] tweaking the registry[b/]


So, here we go >

Press Win key+R > in the run box (I need a better name grin), type "regedit" without the quotes. This opens the registry editor.

In the registry editor, Navigate this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost

Right click "DefaultMediaCost key" > select "Permissions" > this takes you to the security tab.

On the security tab, click "advanced" button. Click the "change" button next to "Trustedinstsller".

In the "enter object name" box, type Administrators, click the "Check Names" button to make sure you're typing the correct object.Click OK.

On the "Advanced Security Settings for DefaultMediaCost" , check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"Click Apply > OK.

On "Permissions for DefaultMediaCost" , select the "Administrators group" , be sure to check the "allow Full Control" box . click Apply > OK.

On the DefaultMediaCost key, there are different entries, including those for 3G, 4G, Default, Ethernet, and WiFi with their default data values: 1 or 2.

data value 1 means that the connection type is non-metered,
data value of 2 means that the connection type is metered.
Double-click the Ethernet DWORD (32-bit) Value key, and change the value to 2.

*Do same for Wi-Fi.

So before you contemplate a downgrade, consider this registry tweak.
