Digitron:Hi, Use chrome browser...or Firefox |

udemzyudex:Lollz... ![]() If Emdee 590 is a hard core DIYist, he's gonna go ahead and get those tools... Well, @Emdee590, let me know the model of your system, so I know if I can remove its BIOS lock, then I tell you how much it's going to cost you. *Cheers * |
Digitron:Hi So, I'm 2hrs+ late and instead of filehippo, I used 4shared... Here is the link https://www.4shared.com/file/qNxNi7c5ca/Windows_7_Activator.html# Just download and run, kapish. *cheers* |
Digitron:Hi. Let's just say, the window needs activation! If you Google "Windows 7 activation", you will be bombarded with a lot of sites promising to help out. I did try a few in the past that worked. Although the sites still exist, attention has now turned to windows 10 and may be windows 8. I do have an offline utility, you just run it on your system and voila! Your windows gets activated. And that "Windows is not genuine" thing disappears. Since its a pretty small file, I'll upload it on filehippo.com then I'll share the download link. Tomorrow at 9:00 am. Cheers. |
NaHiim:Hello, NaHiim Formatting =Wipe everything e.g- format the entire hard drive. The word "reload" is a highly misused word! Often interchanged with the word "re-install" and "format" I would say, "reload" = restart, to begin a process again... e.g- restart the laptop. Now you can see "reload" doesn't quite fit in as substitute! Now here's another one "please re-install the OS" In this sentence, I'd rather stick with re-install, though some would say "reload the OS" "backdating" is another word that can properly be called "restore" Backdating = taking an Operating system back to the date it worked excellently well. This process is properly called "system restore" . As to your first question - short answer, YES. |
Wonderz1:Hello Hmmm... *charging *not powering Two possible situations 1. The power switch might be faulty 2. There may be a little issue with the board- it will require some checks - see a computer technician. Just before you hurry up to the technician, let's try this Remove all sources of power to the laptop (charger and power adapter) > hold the power button for 15 seconds > now, put back the battery > try powering... Any difference? *Cheers * |
IamJix:Hello *Try another battery lets see if it isn't the battery. *Cheers * |
daddio:Let's try this First, make sure you put your laptop in a place it won't get disturbed. Second, ensure your laptop doesn't run out of charge. The CHKDSK Utility : This is an inbuilt utility that allows you to check and correct certain Hard disk errors. This time were not just going to check the errors we're going to be to also repair the HDD. Here we go [b] press the " Windows key + R", in the small box type "CMD" then hit "Ctrl+ Shift + Enter" keys (since you're going to be running it as administrator). Once CMD opens-oh! I forgot to tell you ; it's a really ugly window, just text. So, once CMD is open type in the following without the quotes- "chkdsk /r d:" Where "d" is your drive letter. So if your drive letter is "f", then you're going to be typing "chkdsk /r f:" Then hit the Enter key. This searches through your hard drive for errors (file system errors, bad sectors etc) This process can take hours to complete - but it will be well worth it. Once done you can simply close the command prompt. Check if you can now use the HDD. Recovery Softwares take more hours - like really really long hours to compete. So, let's try that. Shall we? *Cheers * |
AlexCk:Battery good, charger good, then board has got some issues... Computer hardware is pretty straightforward. Just that once in a while, the "demons" have their way ...and yes they can be tamed. |
daddio:Hello, daddio Before you try a recovery software, I think it will be wise for you to exhaust other options of accessing your data. First, is there any error shown after you connect the Hard drive? |
OjoMadiba:Hello. Lol ... I was almost telling you to pray...I'd like to know the model of the system. Thanks. |
luvcherish:... And how about another charger? |
Smartini:Yes, but I think what the op is trying to say is that the bridge only moves you from point A to B. That of berger leads you to three spots : the other side of the express, the side on LSPWC, abd then on the road Linking Lagos Ibadan express way. You see, it's efficient - long but purposeful. Op expresses his disgust cos' it can only link point A and B. OP hope I'm wrong. |
Gkemz:Struggling to marry these three : "quality", "cheap", "short life span" - polygamy |
abbeycom101:Hi. Go to https://www.whatsapp.com/ >scroll all the way down >you'll see a download link for Android and Mac/PC listed there > I guess you can take it from here ![]() An alternative option is to download an emulator like bluestack. From within the bluestack, you can download WhatsApp. But hey! Option 1 is more straightforward isn't it? *Cheers * |
luvcherish:Hello, Such a far place. 1. The battery commectors: The battery might not be sitting well. Though the battery can power the laptop but the pin responsible for sending charge to the batt6 might not be connecting well with the battery. Pheeeww! That wasn't long .The pins might need a little cleaning (.. Not with water!) Just remove the battery, clean the pins (soft cloth + a bit of spirit ; or scraping lightly on the pins) and put the battery back in... Any difference? 2. Bad battery/charger: note that batteries and chargers deteriorate over time. To be sure which one is faulty, you'll need to try another battery first - then another charger. Since its a DIY thing, please ensure the specificațions of the charger tallies with that on the laptop. That's just about it for the DIY. Your next check will be the board - and that is so not DIY *cheers* |
Vuso:Alright then... You're welcome! |
fineboynl:Good one. Now please be smart! go back to the technician and ask him what CD he used? If he can lend you, then copy to your external drive. If he can't, go get yours! It's ridiculously inexpensive. *cheers* |
udemzyudex:@udemzyudex, you're right! The model is important too, so we know if the switch is on-board or connected via flex... |
Nacoss25:Hello I get the feeling - don't freak out I once had a laptop that gave me this issue. Boom! I was firing up to disassemble the laptop, but just as I was about opening the laptop, I mistakenly pressed the power button and guess what? It came up! * so here's what you're going to do first When you open the lid of the laptop, wait for a few minutes... and no, you're not going nuts . Now press the power button... *were going to repeat the same thing but this time after opening the lid, go ahead and press the power button, just wait a few seconds, does it come up?. *We're not gonna be trying that again. This time after opening the lid, remove the battery (and charger if you have it plugged in), now hold the power button for 15 seconds. Put back the battery. Press the power button. Any changes? No changes? Let's go deeper! *Take out the battery, plug in the charger, does your laptop power after pressing the the power button once? *Do you apply extra pressure on the power button? Let's hear from you |
greatestboss:Hello What methods have you tried, so we'd know what to avoid - really. |
debyrazy:Hi, there. If you can still see images using the torch, then your situation isn't entirely bad .*My first suggestion would have been to take the battery out > hold the power button for 30 seconds > put battery back in then power. *Batteries and RAMs of x360 PCs are not easily accessible. ![]() The RAM might need some attention... Anything aside RAM, for an x360, might be a bit complex. If you can't access the RAM directly from under the laptop easily, pls don't (if you don't know how) go any further so you don't break anything - see a technician I'm on WhatsApp - 08128714767 BTW: do you notice anything when you turn the display- Y'know, like when you turn it all the way? *cheers* |
Vuso:Hello Before I go ahead with my suggestions, chances are 1 . You've tried the "turn on metred connection" and you probably didn't find it... No! I'm so sure you didn't find it ![]() 2. You've also "disabled" auto-updates. Why is the word, disabled in quotes? Because that main download still goes on in win 10. *let's now move on... You're going to try one last thing- [b] tweaking the registry[b/] So, here we go > Press Win key+R > in the run box (I need a better name), type "regedit" without the quotes. This opens the registry editor. In the registry editor, Navigate this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost Right click "DefaultMediaCost key" > select "Permissions" > this takes you to the security tab. On the security tab, click "advanced" button. Click the "change" button next to "Trustedinstsller". In the "enter object name" box, type Administrators, click the "Check Names" button to make sure you're typing the correct object.Click OK. On the "Advanced Security Settings for DefaultMediaCost" , check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"Click Apply > OK. On "Permissions for DefaultMediaCost" , select the "Administrators group" , be sure to check the "allow Full Control" box . click Apply > OK. On the DefaultMediaCost key, there are different entries, including those for 3G, 4G, Default, Ethernet, and WiFi with their default data values: 1 or 2. data value 1 means that the connection type is non-metered, data value of 2 means that the connection type is metered. Double-click the Ethernet DWORD (32-bit) Value key, and change the value to 2. *Do same for Wi-Fi. >>>restart your laptop <<< This explanation I just gave is from an article on windowscentral treating the same issue. I must say it saved a lot of my Internet data. So before you contemplate a downgrade, consider this registry tweak. *If you still experience huge data consumption after the above tweak, then you can go ahead with your downgrade... To downgrade, you'll need a copy of Windows on DVD or flash drive. Ofourse, to create a bootable DVD or flash go here: https://www.poweriso.com/tutorials/how-to-make-win7-bootable-usb-drive.htm Then here's how to format to win 8: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-clean-install-windows-8-or-8-1-2626254 ... and of course if you ever want to save yourself the whole stress of following a long tutorial - just hola on 08128714767 - I'm on WhatsApp. |
2sexyus:Exactly! Well just incase you also want to use any other android app, android emulators come in handy. Bluestack is just one of them. I think there's this feeling people get with using a laptop that is more rich than a mobile device. * Except that mobile devices are... Y'know- mobile ![]() *cheers* |
Jfactor:Hello there. Ordinarily, "preparing automatic repair" shows your PC is preparing to automatically fix some errors that occurred with Windows during boot. But as is always with technology, sometimes this doesn't work and keeps displaying that forever. Before we go a bit deeper, let's try a few tricks: 1.Take out the battery for a few seconds put back the battery then power the laptop. 2. While it still displays "preparing automatic repair", press and hold the power button to force off the laptop - then power on again. Any difference from 1&2? 3. In the advanced boot option menu, select "reset pc". Well this usually work with original copies of Windows that came with the PC. 4. If 1,2 and 3 fail- Re-install windows. As always if you find the above a bit too techy- I'm on WhatsApp : 08128714767. *Cheers* |
Razak5:POC- emulators not simulators ![]() |
Hello, About the laptop skin: I have a variety of colors and pictures. ...about the screen guard, yea it's available. 08128714767. |
austinwalker706:Hello You can not downgrade persay... Although you can simulate (mimick) an environment where android Softwares can run as if you were running them from your smartphone. Blue stack is one of the popular android emulators. Do check the minimum system requirements for running any Android emulator before installation. Some emulators are known for not working well with some OS *Cheers* |

Hi, I didn't mean the serial number. What I meant was that the laptop does have a name and model. e.g Hp ProBook 4540s, Fujitsu Lifebook A500... That's what I mean. |
