Jobs/VacanciesRe: Can A First Class Graduate Really Be Jobless? by realK: 5:22am On Dec 31, 2014
In addition to all that have been said (not that I agree with most of them though), it is difficult for small firm to keep first class graduates as they tend to move from job to job a lot compared to others. I was talking to a friend who told me he has stopped hiring graduates in this category.

So, how many big firms or companies are out there to hire them? In addition, your friend must pass the tests and the interviews of these big firms to get hired. Tests might be easy for bookworms, interviews are definitely more difficult for them!

I wondered why he keeps making the same mistake. He appears unprepared for anything. What are all his aides doing? they all must be sacked! I cannot believe they cannot even stage a well choreographed interview for him - I am not a PR person but I know this happens a lot with public office holders.
PhonesRe: Help!!!!!!!!!!!! My Brother Has Been Scammed by realK: 4:08am On Dec 31, 2014
Buyers beware! The Nigerian yahoo-yahoo guys have turned in on their fellow Nigerians using the same Internet used to defraud the other "maga" across the world. Whether the seller is from Nigeria or not

1. Do not send money to anyone you meet on the Internet without doing your due diligence. If you are buying goods make sure you physically inspect the goods before making payment. If you are dealing with new or unknown company, always insist on paymnet on delivery.

2. If you receive an email with attachment (from known or unknown sources) be careful in opening it. Do not enter you bank/card details, email username and password, you bank online banking details with pins, etc on any page opened from a file attachment or email link in the email.

3. If you receive email or phone call that your dear one needs your help, do not oblige until you confirm yourself through other means.

4. Do not be too emotional while dealing on the Internet. Use common sense. If it is too good to be true, it is not true most of the time.

5. Do not use proxy site while bidding on the Internet. Use the actual bidding site so that you do not unnecessarily give up your personal information that could be used to defraud you and/or your friends and family.

Be wise, navigate safely the Internet highways in the new year!

EducationRe: Facts About The Average Nigerian Lecturer by realK:
Dear Nigeria Students,

What is important is that you learnt, it would not matter if your lecturer is average or not, teaches you directly or requests you to go and learn.

Understanding you lecturer is important if you care about the marks in your exams. The genius with independent mind do not like exams by the way, ("One had to cram all this stuff into one's mind for the examinations, whether one liked it or not. This coercion had such a deterring effect on me that, after I had passed the final examination, I found the consideration of any scientific problems distasteful to me for an entire year." - Einstein).

And prepare well for your exams.

For you to be better than your lecturer or teacher or coach, they must demand from you more than you think is right of them to demand. I do not see a lecture as average if he is asking you to do more, he only wants you to be better, embrace it and get done with it already. You will be better for it.

Remember this, if you ever work for someone (other than yourself), your boss would do the same to you and take the glory and accolades that comes with the success of your work. Sometimes you get to share in the largesse, until you learned the rope and move up the ladder. Same you will do to people below you. So get used to it if you want to excel and be successful and stop complaining.

Wish you more success than you deserve in your endeavor.

go and watch the interview christian armampour had with him; u'l b embarrassed as a Nigerian. I covered my face watching that interview when i heard him repeatedly saying 'that's not korect(with much power to give letter 'k' instead of 'c')' in response to an allegation. You could hear a mixture of ibo and ijaw accent in him.
Pronouciation should not be a problem as long as the points are well articulated. This I find lacking in the interview - he was talking about problem in Mali, etc but said nothing about his plan to tackle BH in Nigeria. And Mr. President lied about power supply in Lagos (5:50) with a straight face. Accepting failure and stating the plan with stats/projections would have been more appropriate.

Only the 2 flats on the ground floor remaining. Total completion by Xmas looking unlikely as evacuating the rubbles, etc is taking more time than anticipated. Flats would be in habitable state by 1 Jan, 2015.

Remaining work this week:
1. Complete sanitary connections to septic tank
2. Painting of rooms
3. Connection to public power supply

Next week:
1. Paving the compound
2. finishing of the fence surrounding the building
3. New gate installation

In my opinion this question doesn't carry much weight in terms of appraisal of your suitability for the job. It's like a trick question... just to test how you react and can keep your calm and sense in awkward situations because in real work life there will always be out of order situations you'd have to deal with satisfactorily using good initiative. Just remain composed and paint a good image of your folks such that whatever they do is positive and has a excellent effect molding you in the right to be capable of delivering.
I agree more with your view.

My advice is that you answer this question as honest as possible, and relate your answer to how this (good or bad) makes you more determined to excel citing what steps you have taken or you will take to ensure this continues to motivate you to perform.

My calculation says it is -2
Number of pple with -2 is more, the crowd is right most of the time, though average of all answers could have been more appropriate.
Change all the [] to () and open you excel app, focus a cell in the worksheet, type = and paste the expression, this is the acid test.

To all those with other answers other than -2, check your bodmas and counting skills.

Daniel2802:
So many Nigerians are not educated....like seriously do you think just because you are educated makes you know everything, well my brother it doesn't. Life is all about learning we learn new things everyday e.g. I learnt that when you leave a wooden stool outside under the hot sun for a long time it cracks and can break and also today thanks to UncleSnr I know that there is something called hunter and harvest moon.
As for being amazed at an orange moon, I call that curiosity.
Supported! No school teaches you everything. You are educated when you become open minded and start learning from your environment, observing and asking questions even on the seemingly obvious things. Education should free your mind.

Albert Einstein “Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.”
PropertiesRe: Advice Needed: Between Pvc, Asbestos And Pop by realK: 6:56pm On Dec 05, 2014
It all depends on your budget. I had to mix pop with asbestos in one project I am handling. You can get pop for prices ranging from 2500 to 3200 per Sqr meter depending on who you are talking to and complexity of the design.

We got asbestos from Amu at 1150 per 16 Sqr feet (one without design is 1100). We are using 4x4 to save cost on wood. I hope this helps.

Seriously! Sure you understand little laws of nature; try standing on your four limbs and raise one up (it does not matter which one, hand or leg), try to balance first for 30 mins (same posture as the car) before you attempt the impossible walk on 3 limbs.

This one surely failed the mythbuster test.
