Buhari is a thief that must be voted out
Politics / Re: NEMA: How Speaker's Office Is Leading Media Campaign Against Osinbajo by Realname: 6:38am On Nov 18, 2018
[s]
yjgm:
Recently, the Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo has been under scrutiny over the N5.8Billion National Emergency[/Management Agency (NEMA) fund.

The report of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Emergency was considered some days ago, handing out a strong verdict on the people allegedly involved in the scandal. Notable among them is the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Maihaja and other board members.

The report submitted by the committee did not mention the name of the Vice President, nor was he in anyway mentioned during the consideration of the report.

However, the name of the Vice President started flying after a press statement emanated from the Spokesperson of the Speaker, Hassan Turaki.

Also Read: Minimum Wage: Govs Can Pay N30,000 – Oshiomhole

Turaki on Thursday sent out mail to some selected media outlets, about two hours after the consideration of the reports and resolutions adopted. The mail read, “Please quickly the story”, probably the grammatical disjunction portrayed the haste to send out the story.

While the report did not mention Osibanjo, Turaki’s statement mentioned the name of the vice president, it reads “Reps indict Osibanjo over illegal approval of mismanaged N5.8 billion North East Intervention”.

The statement from the Speaker’s office brought the Vice President into the fold through interpretation of recommendation 3 of the report, which reads, “that all the government officials involved in the approval, processing, release and diversion of the sum of N5.8billion for the emergency intervention of food security in the North East, which contravened the provisions of S.80(2) and 80(4) of the Constitution, infraction of due process for procurement and loss of government revenue, flouting of the terms of the Eurobond loan are hereby indicted and the relevant Security Agencies should take steps to recover the money from them”.

The Chairman of the committee Ali J.C. Isa while briefing journalists in reaction to the media report partially refuted the statement coming from the Speaker’s office.

He said, “But, in our submissions, there was no where I or the committee mentioned, specifically the VP Professor Osinbajo.

“What I also know is that he is the chairman of the governing council of NEMA. So, if he knows that there is something that I didn’t know, his office may be able to respond to some of the issues.

“I have documents from CBN stating that N5.8 billion be paid directly to the said companies, without signing any agreement with the companies, without any award letters; without any procurement processes.”

But the chairman added that the Vice President who was the Acting President at the time approval was given for the funds to be released has clarifications to make.

Although the story is still developing as more revelations are still emerging, the fact the office of the speaker is leading the campaign might give credence to the claim in some sections the investigation is political.

The politicisation of this investigation could make it impossible to get to the root of the matter affecting people already battered by the insurgency in the Northeast.

This report was compiled by Bakare Majeed, an Abuja-based journalist

Naijaalive:

There are strong indications that the plot to remove the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, has failed as he is enjoying the backing of a majority of the state chairmen of the party and other officers.

Ogun and Imo, where the governors were not satisfied with the outcomes of the primaries conducted by the Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee, most state chairmen of the party had vowed to resist any plot to remove the national chairman.

There were reports a few weeks ago that there was a plot to remove Oshiomhole because of the manner he handled the party’s primaries, which some governors, including Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Rochas Okorochas (Imo) and Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), had faulted.

A member of the APC NWC, who confided in one of our correspondents, said the former Edo State governor had not reached out to state chairmen of the party to stop the plot.

The party chieftain stated, “There is no reason for him to do that because only two or three states are against him. Any plan to remove Oshiomhole will fail because he is enjoying the support of many states. Anybody that is bent on removing him now that elections are approaching will plunge the party into another crisis that may affect its chances at the polls.”

Yesterday I went to Aba from Umuahia to get some clothes, shoes and other goodies. I was so shocked to see the Military and Police collecting #50 from the so called Bus Driver. I was infront seat. The funniest thing is how they collect the money.

The Police collects #50.00without shame or minding who recognizes their face. They even gave change to driver as the case maybe. This happened for about 5 check points making the driver lose about #250.00 to the so called police who is to guide and protect her citizens.

The Military was so funny that I was shocked, guess what they did? The kept young boys who carry stainless basin as if they are selling satchet water. These boys are the one collecting the monies for them and if the driver doesn't give them. They will raise their hand up and that's a signal to the Military man that this Driver did not pay. At first I thought the guy was selling pure and I asked the driver to get is change from the guy not knowing they are kept to collect cash for the military.

The only people I respect was the Federal Road Safety Guys menhhhhhhh you need to see how cars run away from them. Those guys are mean and I commend them for their work. Strict in business and think the life of her citizens what staying on a good and competent drivers. I must say they are worth the respect.

This post is not to bash the OP but to learn and we have to look at the mistakes that were made and my heart goes how to you with all then stress and aches you are probably having. I hope someone will read this and not fall a victim too.

Tech as we know it is supposed to make life easier for us but this can only happen if we learn how to use these seeming little but powerful apps.
It doesn't take more than 10 minutes to be adept in these things, but somehow we have failed to learn and read, I mean look at people around you!

Some useful tips here:

Everything is supposed to happen within the app unless there is some friction and that is when you call or message.

If you order a ride, you can see if the driver is moving your way or close to you, but people pick up the phone and start calling to ask "where are you" because they don't know or don't even want to see how the app works.

When your ride has started, you can see from your phone where you are heading, and the car moves on the map, but let's hope you are interested since you are more likely to do snapchat.

Let me take on an instance, I see often, too many times, a lot of Uber drivers call you and ask you where you are going before they arrive, please stop it right there!

There is a reason the driver is not allowed to see your destination unless he starts the trip and it is called SECURITY!

So no one will arrange anyone to mess you up on your way, but we have overlooked this many people don't even know it.

Back to "acts of bunmiano", the OP:

I am not holding the brief for the cunning and dishonorable driver, but everything started from the OP's act of carelessness!.

Reading is one of our most significant issues and who don't read, can't learn!

If you order a ride., you see the estimated cost of your trip before you confirm. There is no way a ride of #3400 will shoot up #4300 unless you have some dangerous traffic for more than an hour!

When your ride ends, you will get the total amount and the receipt, asking the driver "how much" shows you are a careless person!

There are two options for payment on the app: Cash and card( which you add and reduces the hassle). However, why would anyone not do this and go the way making a bank transfer? Isn't that hard work on its own?
We make simple things look so damn hard! If you'd added a card to uber, no one would inflate any price for you! Learn people learn!

Then the almighty blunder, adding a beneficiary to your list means you know the person and not just a one time transfer!

You only add someone if you are dealing with them more than once or twice in a short time. Who adds a stranger to their beneficiaries?

Still, we don't know how these things work!
I hope we can all learn and learn how to read. Life is just so simple, but we tend to make it hard.

Pdp ideology is corruption and we are done with that. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin(corruption) is a reproach to it. Campaigns will start on Monday you guys will learn soon. PMB might not be the brightest president but as it stands today, there is not a single one among you pdp guys that can stand side by side with him when it comes to integrity. Yes it takes more than integrity to rule a country but a man with the best ruling skills that has no integrity is in no way better than a thief.

Politics / Re: Group Accuses Atiku Of Tax Evasion, Asks FIRS To Release His Record by Realname: 5:20am On Nov 18, 2018
[s]
Officialpdpnig:

The Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM), an activist group, has demanded that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) produce tax receipts belonging to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter sent to the FIRS dated November 16, and signed by Nelson Ekujumi, the group’s national coordinator, Abubakar was accused of evading tax for several years.

The group said he only paid the backlog from 2015 to 2017 in order to meet up with the requirements of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to contest the presidential election.

CPPM alleged that Abubakar only used his 2017 tax receipt to fill the presidential nomination forms.

A copy of Abubakar’s tax clearance certificate showed that the PDP presidential candidate was issued the certificate on April 19, 2018, for payment of his personal income tax for 2015, 2016, and 2017.

A separate receipt was issued by the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCTIRS) for N4 million paid as tax for the year 2017.

The payment date captured on the receipt was April 12, 2018.

The group threatened to take the matter to court if the FIRS did not honour its request for the tax receipts, to prove whether Atiku paid his taxes at the right time or not.

“We are Nigerians committed to enthrone honesty and integrity in public office and the sustenance of true democracy,” the letter read.

“It is in this regard that we write to you under Section 1 (1) and (2) and Section 4(a) of the Freedom of Information Act to make available to us the 2015 and 2016 Personal Income Tax receipts of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 Presidential elections.

“Information at our disposal is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar DID NOT PAY HIS Personal Income Tax for several years and only ran to the FIRS in April this year to pay the back-log of only his 2015 – 2017 taxes to meet up with the requirements of INEC. Hence, in filing his INEC forms, he only produced his receipt for 2017 tax which was paid in April, 2018.

“As someone who continuously says he is interested in getting Nigeria and its economy working again, it is important Nigerians know whether he has been paying his Personal Income Taxes AS AT WHEN DUE.

“Consequently, we request for his 2015 and 2016 Tax receipts to ascertain whether he paid his taxes AS AT WHEN DUE.

“TAKE NOTICE that you are to meet our demands within SEVEN (7) working days of the receipt of this letter.”
