Sir, this is what is expected to happen but you can not be too sure that everyone adhere to this. One of my senior colleagues once told me about how he discovered that all his bosses were active investors in the NSE through blind trust companies. This was in the 70's.
emmanuelewumi:

That is the truth, you can do your findings.

With the blind trust managed by the Trustees, you don't trade online, you don't give purchase or sale mandates, you don't get dividends, you don't know the stock bought on your behalf. You only get you yearly performance of your investment at the end of the year and can make withdrawals.

Just as you don't know the stocks you Pension Fund Managers is buying for you in your retirement savings account

Oga Bamofin1, I do not think it is Oga OGG's responsibility to address any issue regarding the competence and integrity of the new owners of UACN. He has done very well to analyze the figures churned out by the company. He highlighted the risks and rewards and it is, therefore, the prerogative of anyone to either do further due diligence or not. That Pa Ewunmi has lent his voice to draw out for the attention of us all the link of the new management with certain characters who have not done very well themselves does not mean that anyone or everyone that has ever worked with the OandO boys must be bad.
BAMOFIN1:

Dear Oga Onegentleguy, it not very satisfactory for you not to DIRECTLY address the issue of the competence, integrity and ultimate aim of the new investors of Uac as repeatedly mentioned by Mr. Emmanuelewumi while you continue to paint Uac as desirable. We all know that a management with ulterior motive and personal interest will soon decimate the interest of retail investors. Such managers render all analyses and assessment of fundamentals, such as yours, irrelevant. Pa Ewumi has opined that the new investors are self centred corporate raiders from the same stable as oando's former management whose sole interest is make profit from Uac for themselves and not to turnaround the company. Example was given of how their first act was to triple the salary of the manager. Sir, it is desirable for you and Mr Oakpearl to inform us whether you think the new investors are OK to achieve the dreamed Uac and whether you have factored in these concerns into your accumulation position.

Key management staff and Board members can use proxies to buy shares at anytime.
DexterousOne:

Regular employees however can buy the shares of the company they work for without informing the NSE or SEC.

I believe that's accurate

CAP Plc that returned a good result, its shareholders were denied dividend and UACN that returned woeful results were rewarded with 10kobo dividend.
TLAX:

For about 6 years. I am sure many people missed that one. This is probably the first acquisition of Themis Capital and will be a guinea pig for them.

The focus is not so much on the loss figures for two years in a row but for the so called corporate restructure and where it leaves retail shareholders. I am still trying to figure out a way forward after they sell the third portfolio coy either this year or early next year. Asset stripping in motion. For the short and mid term its a no-no. if it survives to the long term it may be a different story. If you must have a relationship with UACN, go for one of the subsidiary in paint manufacturing. The other cash cow is not quoted so you can't access it.

If you know how to read financial statements, pay close attention the CFS and notes to the account.

Probably my last post on UACN before people think there is anything personal.

"Jijoist" may still have a winning proposition albeit a very unfavourable risk adjusted returns.

Act as the spirit leads.

Edited Sir. The new owners should just keep mopping up any new offers.

Sorry, you do not see any season why what pls

On UACN, Pa Emma succinctly put it that the new guys are not going to be investors friendly. The focus for them is to recoup their investments as soon as possible. The more assets they sell in the future will determine if buying now is a good or wrong one. I do not see any reason why there should be these large offers for the stock.
onegentleguy:

If u are in UACN, HOLD and HOLD very tight and be overprotective of it.
...infact, be vigilant to massively ACCUMULATE more !!

The current huge offer is for the most part, "a mirrage".
Actual sellers are only very few.(those with eyes can see it)

In all, No point highlighting the good and inherent reward in the result.(keeping it for later)
...will be glad for it to come down in price, so some of us can accumulate much more.(note the part in bold)
I will SURELY utilize this great opportunity for good !!

These "plays" are sometimes a tradition in the "NSE room" wink cheesy grin
...but 'Mr TIME has a way of settling them'.

This issue has been over flogged on this platform. Irrespective of the stock, you need 100k units en bloc to change the price.

What of a whole peterichy that despised the caution/ red flag given by pa Emma on Uacn few days ago and he proudly grabbed a copy yesterday for the sake of dividend and unbundling.

Leave the capoil guy alone.Afterall he hasn't paid any school fees before.

Oga Onifa, but meffy can get inspired with actions like this. He knows the banks that are good and bad. Should we get worried that dividend in 2021 may be very thin or non-existent?
RabbiDoracle:

UK isnt Nigeria.

The information is for most companies in the US, UK who come to government for bailout, yet they use the money for executive compensation, buybacks and payment of dividends.

They want the company to be saved first before they think about dividends.

Is UBA and other companies requesting for bailout from the UK? Answer is No

Oga please calm down. Do not sell anything ooooo. No one knows the bottom of this game yet. Will the Banks CEOs and top management staff agree to a cut in their salaries and allowances. Will the CBN be ready to reduce the charge for AMCON levy?

CBN mandated them all to donate.
DeRuggedProf:

FBNH has donated more than N1B for covid in cash and kind. This is a company that pays trash as dividend.

Do they know what their aged shareholders are going through is far worse than this ordinary catarrh?
How can a company that pays peanuts as dividend, which actually paid 26k last year be coughing out Over N1B for Corona?
Is Corona a shareholder here?

UACN will not pay a dividend this year. CAP with good results did not pay dividend. Anyone in this boat because of dividends should reassess his/her decision.

If you are not here yet, why go in?

But note...my take is that this is a distressed stock of an otherwise "good company" that got its funding structure and marketing strategy wrong. It still has a strong product portfolio and k believe the new management will pay a lot of attention on the value segment of the market where it appears to be thumping NB.

After the rights issue which i understand was mostly taken up by the parent company, i truly expect this company to delist within 18 months. However, these are just my thoughts and time will tell.

I hope people will understand that GSK is already winding down its business in Nigeria. Focus should really be on May n Baker and Fidson
OakPearl:

With Lagos alone receiving N1bn from UBA alone, and all the grants and donations pouring in from Tinubu N200m, Atiku N50m, BUA chairman N1bn, WHO and Fed, you will expect most of it going into the healthcare sector.

Manufacturers of medical products will benefit from the chunk of these largess.
Maybe 2020 is the resurrection year for the likes of GSK.

if you took the time to read about Lafarge Wapco in the last 10 years. You will understand some issue better. It will come good for short-termers that get in now but the Long term of the company is a bit shaky.

@rebekah do you have qrt 3 unauduted report. All you mentioned is been done, this also include sales of loss making subsidary and driving down production cost. If you are still looking at quater 2 , change your out look. grin
