pendicle: Any one who think the indigenes of Lagos will overlook the stupidity and morbid mouth haemorrage of the chest beating but useless tribe is living in foolery.
When they turn blind eye and ethnic fighter to take on the most powerful king in their host abode for expressing a private wish to private guests in his private home and turn that into an avenue to abuse and insult their forefathers who they wake up with karate kicks then they know not who they deal with.
When the Hausa's in Sagamu took the quietness and loving nature of the Remo people for granted and felt they have the numbers to cause trouble, they were dwelt with extensively with multiple beheadings during Oro night curfews and outright and enough financial and physical pains they went to bring the sultan of sokoto and the late emir of kano to beg forgiveness.
Today an average Hausa man in sabo and other places in sagamu know his place.
The Igbos in Lagos and especially those on the Island will know the real powers of the OLOWO EKO, when you think you are something but not knowing you're nobody, only the experience after your foolishness will put it to you, the election should have proven to them who own Lagos by now and their numbers are so inconsequential that Hausa's are more useful than them in Lagos.
The politics and awareness of Lagos changed after the last election and it is now the igbos will know Lagos has been even before their forefathers learn to live like human beings and not animals.
We know how to treat fuckups like this, it is entrenched in our cultural and traditional ways long long ago, civilization made it go under but it will come out now. Oba Oyekan begged that Oro should be done very very late into the night cause of visitors and outsiders and should be confined to only indigenous part of Lagos but now we will do it everywhere in Lagos to prove the land is ours and we earned it from our forebears.
The Aworis will do gelede, the eguns will do zangbeto, the ikorodus will do agemo and eluku and then these bastards wil know the LAND OF LAGOS truly have owners.

[s] ichidodo: ^^^^ Lagos remains no man's land as long as Nigeria remains one and it struggles to become an economic hub...Simply put,the indigenes lost their ancestral rights with the steady influx of yoriba immigrants and non-yoriba immigrants,infact-just like the Columbus effect on Red Indians, throwing the entire northern American continent into no man's land for European immigrants-the core Lagos indigene has become extinct therefore Lagos is no man's land......Omatseye writes for the Nation,do the maths. [/s] Chidera the fool, you have never make sense on nairaland. 9jacrip: Most/many people do not know this but I do not blame them.
The idejo have been so relegated to the shadows of Eleko or Eko (Lagos Island) that people think him to be the shot caller of the entire cultural sphere of the state.
If the Idejo families start coming upfront and placing themselves in the fore front of Lagos politically and socially, I do not think people would confuse the place and roles of Eleko nor question the status of Lagos as a people's land as opposed to no man's land. You are absolutely right. The Ojoras, Onikoyis, Onirus, Aromire, Oluwas and even the Otos are just watching by the sides which is very bad. |

That was what I was trying to tell him discreetly without derailing the thread - but it seems the youngin' just loves like arguing to hear what he sounds like. Lool Lolz. It seems Myndd is from Isale Eko. However, I think people mistake him for the Oba of all Lagos state Obas cos of the tittle Oba of Lagos. There is difference between Lagos and Lagos state, Eleko is just Oba of Lagos and Permanent Chairman of all Lagos state Obas. |

You know what, never mind sef He is not the Oba of all Lagos state. He is just the chairman of all Obas in Lagos, they even classify him as Oba Island and Oloto of otto as Oba mainland. He does not have influence in Badagry, Epe and even Ikorodu. |

EUROBOMBER: Jimi Agbaje should learn from Buhari. I was really shocked when Buhari won the presidential election; I never thought that was possible in this world.
Unfortunately for Jimi though the Yorubas have decide to call him Ikeshuku/Afonja. His crime was that he turned to non-indegines who are fellow Nigerians for support when his people largely abandoned him even though he is the true omoluabi Eko unlike one Ambode who is from Ondo State.
I smh. Stop the hypocrisy. Ngige was named Babatunde by your people during the Anambra election, your elders even said he went to join amala party and awolowo people. You guys still call Rochas, Mallam rochas till today. SW is not a place you can play the ethnic card, he lost the day he started distributing one anti Igbo fliers like Igbos are the only one that pay tax in Lagos. Okechukwu Jimi lost in his PU and local government, he should just forget about governing Lagos forever. |

MalcoImX: Baby Mama come see your mortuary attendant life. The Igbo culture is also a culprit but you have a myopia. | MARRIAGE AMONG THE IGBO OF NIGERIA (Taken from unpublished doctoral thesis submitted to Pontifical Urban University, Rome (1970) by Celestine A. Obi)
"The normal age is 25-28 for the man and from 14 to 18 for the girl. In some parts of Igbo land, child-marriage ( ldo-nkwu nwanyi, igudo- nwanyi) literally, bringing bride wine, staking bride claim, was practised. "Rich parents", says Basden, "often select a wife (or wives) for a son, while he is still a boy, he probably having no knowledge of the transaction ... This method of acquiring a wife is known as Nwunye-nwa-madu . It is a way of displaying well-to-do parentage". However this is rather very rare and must have fallen into desuetude since Basden wrote." http://nigeriamasterweb.com/igbomarriage.html See how Obi tried to deflect Basden. Amazing how even the Igbo academia couldn't escape the Baby Mama syndrome, – it may apply others but not the Igbo. | I will like to ask for the understanding of the Igbo progressives. You are a great people who've paid their dues. Whatever I've done here is not a stereotype but to show a bigot that she can be paid in her own coins. Good reaearch. This thread deserve the FP. |
