bestestgirl:
interesting!! the summary is that Jega is due to start his terminal leave march 24 but he may not necessarily commence on that date because it is still in the power of the president to let him remain there a little longer into his terminal leave.
GEJ cannot and will not suddenly appoint a new chairman just four days to the election, Jega may even stay till the swearing in on 29th May.

So please all these conspiracy theorists, kindly concentrate on polishing your PVCs (or burning them) grin

He has some of the most intimidating campaign materials in Nigeria.....he surely is doing a good job and will win by landslide.....
True talk but most of his campaign posters suggests he isn't a serious minded person.he cut out as though he is canvassing for vote to win MTN project fame.

You're a slowpoke and I'm not your errand boy that you send on tasks. Using the word polygraph in the context of this conversation makes you look stupid.

If you suspect an abuse of authority then you as a citizen can call it in.

I wouldn't expect you to understand that since you come across as a sheeple.
Sorry to burst your bubble,I won't be dragged into your futile diatribe,it shows your level of immaturity and I'll never condescend, also note that I don't discuss with frustrated imps.I'm out.
PoliticsRe: AIG Mbu In Mild Drama At Lekki Toll Plaza by redcap: 5:49am On Feb 09, 2015
CityNG:
I disagree.

Official Police vehicles while actively on official police business should not pay toll on a public road.

If the stupid Lekki road scheme is private then they need to definitely pay.

Removing the police detail should end up with a lawsuit on the police department as I assume they have a contract to provide security.

On another note, in civilized countries being rude to a public servant doesn't result in arrest. Mostly except Texas where it is a crime to curse within earshot of someone else, even in your home.
I also disagree, the concession was done on build operate and transfer basis,in other words it remains a public property.I've travelled out and haven't seen where officers are required to pay toll.I'm not aware of any device that can accurately detect if an officer is actually on duty or not.Maybe you should ask them to install polygraph machine (lie detector) on those plaza so that each officer could be subjected to a test before they given right of free passage. grin cheesy

No yarn that crap abeg....

I do not support a military takeover.

OP is stating that from a tactical perspective, the present govt is opening itself up for a military takeover.
It is a warning they should heed.
Using BH to postpone elections is flawed and nearly everyone recognises that. Nothing should stop the March 28 date neither should Jega be booted out.

Or else......
Else what? Quit making empty threats,APC also threatened fire and brimstone if election is postponed. bros nothing will happened the presido can even manipulate the process to remove jega and continue to postpone the election until he is sure to win the poll on a landslide. You guys should be gutted and seek for secession if the current scheme of things does not suit you.

We christians do remember the part of the bible where Jesus stated clearly that we should not turn his father's house to a business center. What does Mr President think he is doing?
He really didn't campaign and the GO only prayed for the unity of the country and for God's will be done in respect to the election.so pls let's cut GEJ some slack.

PoliticsINEC Conniving With APC To Deny Non-indegene Their Pvcs by redcap(op): 9:25am On Feb 05, 2015
Olisa Metuh, National publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of conniving with All Progressives Congress, APC to deny non-indigenes ‎in Lagos State their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

He said that the development had been reported to INEC, adding that in some states the PVCs of non-indigenes were burnt.

"This has never happened before, but we don't know why the APC is doing such; may be because we have a credible presidential candidate and a better gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state.

"We have the records and we are asking the non-indigenes involved, that if by Friday, February 6, INEC still do not give them their PVCs, we will take decisive action. We know that 90 per cent of these non-indigenes are supporters of PDP. This is part of the APC ideology to truncate democracy in this country,’’ Metuh said.

He added that though the APC members had been claiming that they were on top of the election, it was obvious that PDP was on top.

He expressed optimism that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the election, saying “it is the reason the APC has resorted to causing mayhem”.

Metuh denied that some PDP governors were trying to defect to the APC as being speculated, arguing that the party`s governors had been part of its nationwide presidential campaigns
