Define "illegal ".he only wants to banned open grazing with the full backing of the law.

Politics / Re: Removal of Subsidy Without Provision of Palliative Is Wickedness by redcap: 8:46am On May 14, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:

If you investigate very well you may be shocked to realise that the stocks on sale for N145 are those already taken care of by subsidy.

That's very certain, every business person knows that whenever there's an increase in price of a commodity from source the first thing you do it to reflect the same increment on ur available stock so that when next you order you won't fall below the MOQ, simple!
Politics / Re: Removal of Subsidy Without Provision of Palliative Is Wickedness by redcap: 8:36am On May 14, 2016

Let me play the devil advocate.

The FG palliative is putting a ceiling of 145 per litre as the maximum price.

Petrol stations with old stock immediately started selling 145 per litre. None of them considered their brother the common man.

If FG did not put a ceiling, some stations are ready to sell at 200 naira per litre and even now some sell above the 145 per litre.

Those stations selling above 145 are not owned by FG but by Nigerians who are inflicting wicked hardship on the masses.

Nigeria is bigger than Abuja and Lagos which in reality where the places that fuel was being sold for 86.50.

Suggested way forward to be said later.

Also note that FG has several million litres of petrol stored up in depot/tank farms and these stock has been fully Paid and booked by marketers eagerly waiting to take delivery and all of a sudden they increased the price by almost 70% with a directive to marketers to pay up the margin, where else do you think these marketers will get the money from. Note that these stocks has be fully paid for since over 2months.

I predicted a sharp rise on exchange rate yesterday. As at yesterday $ was 322naira this afternoon it's already selling for as high as 335naira to a dollar.

what dumb point are you making bro, they were looting like no mans business but because of your hypocritical nature, nothing was wrong with it, if they had removed subsidy and the price went to N140 or N150 it would have been fine but that didn't happen and let's stop blaming everything on APC, most people kicked against it, we protested now is the best time for it to go altho also the economy is really bad right now and we are to face the worst of it, what i expected was reasonable arguments on minimum wage since what was used to determine the current N18, 000 was the the then price of the dollar, since it has risen and no sign of it returning back to it's old price, that should also be revised to at least reduce to sufferings of the masses, let's stop all this APC, PDP thing jare, blaming them is the easy way out, if we want change, let's go and and get it, hold them accountable and more

Credit @jlinkd78
The scam by this fiendish APC govt has become so humongous and legendary that they themselves can't even pretend about it again. I have always been a strong advocate of total subsidy removal cos I am convinced DAT in d end d interplay of demand and supply will stabilize prices cum availability and eventually drive investors in d direction of building refineries in Nigeria. It is painful DAT GEJ who saw this 4yrs ago was hounded, vilified and called unprintable names by this same actors who argued then that subsidy removal can only come up after refineries have started working at full capacity. These gladiators promised PMS cud sell at 40naira if voted in. A 67% increment (from 86.50 to 145 Naira per litre) can only come from an insensitive govt with a medieval economic mindset. Gej promised DAT with subsidy removal then when crude was above $100 we can buy PMS at 140 naira per litre so how come with crude less than $40 we are to be getting same product at 145naira. It is a universally known fact that when d cost of raw material is cheap (in this case d crude oil) , d tantamount price of d finished product will equally be more affordable. The most annoying part is DAT all those loquacious right activists have all activated their mute buttons, d state agents are intolerable to lawful protests and d zombies are congenitally fanatical. The govt is equally truthful by half cos u can't determine d selling price of a product when d marketers sourced their Forex as PMB can never stabilize d price of d dollar so this 145Naira upper threshold can't be sustained. The best d govt wud have done was to sell Forex to mkters @ official exchange rate and strictly monitor DAT it was used for payment of d exact qty of PMS being imported. Gej irked Nigerians with his new Yr 2012 broadcast but in this case d President never found us worthy of his state broadcast as his junior Minister has issued d fiat thru press statement on a day he is far away in d UK. Such a natnl policy direction?. When all d the critics of this wicked govt with intransigent spirit were being persecuted some were happy but now we know why.

Politics / $$ To Rise To 400naira As Oil Marketers Source Forex From Parallel Market. by redcap: 7:04pm On May 11, 2016
With the latest development in respect to the new price regime of PMS, the minister of state for petroleum Mr. Ibe kachikwu has directed all and sundry who are interested in PMS import should henceforth source their forex from parallel market. This directive will further put a strain on the forex sold on parallel market as dollars will inevitably start selling above 400naira soon.
Nigerians should brace up for the the worse because the effect of petrol price hike coupled with the a run away USD rate will spell doom for this country.
This is my humble opinion though angry angry lipsrsealed lipsrsealed cry cry cry

This is one of the best and most reasonable comment here, the rest are just spewing trash, blaming Buhari and praising Jonathan, lolz now daft and dumb and never realize what they really want, oil prices have fallen therefore it affects all oil dependent countries, comapring now then when the dollar prices was still alright to now that the price has sky rocketed (or is that also buharis fault too) is blaim hypocrisy and dumbness Nigerians shaking my head

You're actually the one that has refused to think, oil price was double of it is today during gej's era. Ironically price of forex has also doubled at the moment thereby making a folly of ur argument. Think!

And you think we importers dont know the advantages, the truth is that banks will still demand for LCs before you can access the yuan and the process and delays can be a stumbling block.so expect the rmb to start trading at the parallel market soon and voila,we're back to square one.

This is a very good development. No more dollar slavery, our naira should be independent of the US dollar.

Now lets do the calculations before you criticize Mr. President.

If u want to buy a china phone of 100 USD, u must pay at least 30,000 Naira @N300 per Dollar
but this 100 USD is about 647.01 Chinese Yuan (google rate)
and 647.01 Chinese Yuan is just about 19,893.37 Naira
now, include bank charges and all, the maximum u will pay for a 100 USD phone will not be more than 22,000 Naira

indirectly, u exchange 100 USD for 22,000 which is about N220 to 1 USD and i think that's fair enough.

This is pipe dream, you'll have to source ur RMB outside the bank and deposit to ur rmb dom. Account.have you bothered to check the black market rate, because the last time I checked, every currency traded in the black market will always appreciate whenever$ goes up.

When a businessman invests in a project...he does so with every expectation of making a profit.

That's how you do business.

DISCOS have to fix up a lot of things before we can even get some good power supply. Where do you expect them to get the cash? Government won't give it to them.

You people should have told Govt back in 2014 that we should not privatse NEPA. But no....you were so happy to see PHCN gone. Now...you expect DISCOS to give you light at their expense. ?

It is like you buying shirts for N1000 per shirt, and selling it at N200 ...with a loss of N800 per shirt. You want the DISCOS to do the same.? And then you would grumble when things fall apart.

Good evening. Reality is a harsh dish.

POSER for you....when the GSM companies first came into Nigeria...where do you think they got the money to give you all them GSM services.? From selling SIM cards at N5000 and above. It certainly was not from government.

I ain't defending the Discos.Just telling you that thanks to privatization, the money needed for fixing our power is gonna come from our pockets.

I wouldn't say you are ignorant I'd rather believe you just don't want to accept a superior argument.

Using your GSM OPS analogy,I can recall that glo had to pay twice for their licence, invested even more on infrastructure and began operations with per sec.billing, though their tariff was high compared to what is obtainable now but we all paid for the services we enjoyed.

Then I ask again, how much exactly has the DISCOS invested in overhauling the infrastructure, ain't they supposed to ensure service delivery before thinking about any increment. How do you expect customers to pay for a nonexistent service. angry shocked

No,just amused that Nigerians expected things to remain the same once power was privatised.

Government sold off PHCN in 2014., gave them scanty money, and told them to''improve power supply''

Where do you think they would get the money from?We the customers.

And I have nothing to do with power supply company, and currently suffer from no light too.

Maybe we should beg PMB to take over the DISCOS again.

The DISCOS you're here defending as if ur live depends on it, ain't they supposed to be investor, how exactly have they invested.Sometimes I wonder why people dont reason before they comment.
