how did you conclude they are yorubas? don't they have Fulani, Hausa and few ibo teachers in Kwara?. I can bet my last penny that none of the teachers that failed is Yoruba. We all know where they come from.

We played against men, Falcons claims
From Gowon Akpodonor, Malabo, E'Guinea

WHILE soccer loving Nigerians are wondering what happened to the Super Falcons in Tuesday's semi final clash with Equatorial Guinea, in which the team surrendered its African title, two players of the team, Maureen Eke and Lillian Cole have claimed that the presence of three 'boys' in the host team played a damaging role against them.

The reign of Nigeria's Super Falcons as African champions was brought to an end by a relatively unknown Nzalang Nationale of Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday in the on-going 2008 AWC in Malabo, as their semi final encounter ended 1-0 in favour of the host country.

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday at their Tropicana Hotel camp, Eke and Cole described the defeat as very painful, but said that the failure on the part of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to act on the protest filed by Nigeria against the host country over the use of hermaphrodite players, played a key role in the team's failure.

"Nigerians back home may not know what we passed through", Cole said.

"I am not trying to give excuses for our inability to make it to the final, but sincerely speaking, it would be difficult for a team made of female players to beat those Equatorial Guinean team. We played against men and it is so unfortunate for CAF to allow 'men' to be playing in a nations cup meant for women.

"Those two players (Simpore Bilguisa and Bimporeb Salimata) are men no matter how somebody will try to convince me
. Even their captain, Anonma Genoveva is more of a man than a woman. I expected CAF to act on the protest filed by Nigeria before the match.

"On a normal situation, there is no way Equatorial Guinea would defeat us. Not Super Falcons. So, I want Nigerians back home to forgive us because we didn't lose our title to women but men", Cole added.

Eke shared the same opinion, saying the presence of those two 'men' in the Guinean squad stopped the Falcons from operating smoothly.

"We did everything within our limit to break into their defence but you saw how the 'boy' in their defence was using his power to block every move we made. He didn't give us any space at all because he has the power of a man and it was very wrong,'' she said.

Eke appealed to soccer loving Nigerians to take the defeat in good faith, saying that the technical crew led by Joseph Ladipo did their best to bring the title back to Nigeria. She said that the Falcons would bounce back and re-claim the title in the next edition of the championship.

Redhot, you could post the same question to nigerian christians. We also take the general ileya holiday even though we don't subscribe to it neither do you refuse the meat from your muslim neighbour abi.

Let muslims enjoy their turkey jare.
Modern day thanksgiving in America is no more a christian show alone because it's thanksgiving unto God . It's expected of any American that believes in God whether you are a christian, muslim, buddhist etc. Olabowale will love my food but will gladly reject my prayers on top of the food.

And no, my pastor specifically warned us not to partake in any feast with unbelievers.

HOtfunmi to di nkon o. You are probably a bad cook. Reason: no deviant/fetish woman can cook well! Probably its too much (epo), then the ata will be half done at best, and maybe too much salt. Too much like the spiked pomps/6 or 8 inches at least!
I don't do ata, sorry and am a damn good cook. I am sure I cook better than your ibo and oyibo wives tongue.
You think Islam is bounded by any nation? Islam is not bounded by the artificial boundary of land known as Arabia Saudia. Its the other way around: It is islam that bounds Makka, Madina, Saudi Arabia, the whole of Arabic people and the whole of the land mass and water mass of the world.

Reason: it is the religion that is ordained on mankind by The Almighty Allah.
Whatever. Why partake in turkey eating but refuse the rituals that come with the turkey?
CultureRe: Osun State Bans Tribal Marks For Children by RedHotChic(op): 3:53am On Nov 28, 2008
Tribal mark does not equate to abortion for sure, I am just trying to point out that just like in the case of abortion where there is still much debate about it, that why can't the government allow a debate first about this issue or find out by statistics if the people want it or not before banning it.

Also i am just trying to point out that some people who are against tribal marks might also be supporting abortion on the other hand.So while in the case of abortion there was a debate before they made a law about so also there should be a debate about this issue as well.

The same analogy of FGM applies also to circumcision. In finland there is a law that says no circumcision and FGM, But you will find out in Nigeria that Christians who are against FGM will also support circumcision. because their religion says so. what if Christianity said yes to FGM

karmon leave Christianity aside and place FGM and circumcision side by side and decide which you will take and which you will ban?
Now place christianity back and decide again and see if the result is the same. to me i will choose one and leave one.

what the hell is "cutting of the abdomen" sorry for this one my mistake i did not know how to explain this part ,i was taking about the DODO the small hole in our stomach. some of my Ibo friends have their own big and when they become baptised do you know they are advised to have it cut and trimmed like the Christians trimmed from birth but am not so sure about this.
I'm not against tribal marks as a culture rather I'm against doing it on under aged children. Culture should be a choice and if the eventually grow and decide to get one, good for them but don't disfigure their face when they have no power to say no because they may grow to hate it.

Muslims give thanks at least 5x daily during salat. Everyday is a day for giving thanks to Allah.
Same for christians but thanksgiving is a special day dedicated to God in the nation of America. Christians and non christians that also believe in God celebrate thanksgiving in America and muslims partake in the turkey feast too but I dont see the reason why they wouldn't also partake in thanking God?. Today should be their official salat.
IslamRe: Muslims And Thanksgiving by RedHotChic(op): 7:50pm On Nov 27, 2008
No my dear we are not following your tradition of celebrating those thanksgiving day,
Why are American muslims not complaining then because the church should be separated from the state according to the constitution but both the govt and labor unions observe it as a holiday?.

Will you honor my invitation to come and eat turkey if I invite you or is it against the laws of Allah?

PoliticsRe: Reps Discover Fake Lg In Oyo State by RedHotChic(op): 7:31pm On Nov 27, 2008
Oyo wants probe of 'fake council'
From Iyabo Lawal, Ibadan

THE OYO State government yesterday called for a panel of enquiry to probe the allegation of N4.7 billion allocated to a non-existent local council in the state by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports in its 2008 budget.

The state's Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Hosea Agboola, who made the call following the House of Representatives' discovery of such local council in the state, demanded for an immediate investigation to ensure proper accountability.

The House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development, led by Depo Oyedokun, had on Tuesday discovered a mystery local council area with a project listed from the N4.7 billion capital vote of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in the 2008 budget.

The name of the local council area was given as Respat and the project listed against it is one of the eight prototype youth centres located across the country.

Oyedokun, the lawmaker from Oyo State at the House of Representatives, had insisted that he was not aware of the youth centre referred to in the 2008 budget, though he confirmed that there were two youth centres in the state.

But Agboola, who said such a council could only exist somewhere in the eastern part of the country and not in Oyo, urged the ministry involved to investigate the matter in the interest of proper accountability.

He said: "We do not have such local council in this state. May be it was created by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports. It might be an omission on the part of the ministry because we do not have such council in the state. We did not also benefit from any project N4.7 billion from the ministry this year. We, therefore, demand a further investigation of the alleged fund allocation."

The nation is under God, that's why Nigeria is reported as being home to some of the happiest people in the world.

God still protects the people, even though the leaders are not under God
The Nation is under God but the leaders are under satan abi?. What an analogy.
CultureRe: New Cultures You Learnt From Nairaland. by RedHotChic(op): 7:19am On Nov 27, 2008
Bullshit. I guess you're living in your own imaginary little era where the society is centered on women. Here in the real world - yeah you will be surprised there's a world out there, not named America - societies frown upon raising bastards. And, no this is not an insult to those kids. The traditional family is still well and alive.
Real world? or you mean real cesspool?. Why is Nigeria in such a dilapidated state if your society that belittles women in the name of culture is sane and sound? Is it not time to have a rethink?.

Please don't say it outside because the word bastard was used last in the 60's.
