I am also 48 and I am alive. I want to thank God for his protection and love through the years. If the devil has his way, I would have died years ago. Praise the LORD.

It is the smaller scorpion species that have the most painful stings and deadliest venoms. Small scorpions are deadlier. Cheers.
AgricultureRe: What Makes Northern Nigeria Ideal For Hibiscus Farming by Redman44(m): 12:54pm On Feb 12
The North has an advantage over the South when it comes to drying the Zobo leaves. There is a lot of sunshine all year round in the North. Zobo growers in the south do not have that luxury due to longer seasons of rainfall. So anyone who cultivates Zobo in the south need to buy food dehydrators to help out in drying the Zobo calyxes . Cheers.

Yes, tree crops. If you can be patient, you should try and cultivate Cocoa, Citrus ( Oranges and Tangerine ) or go into Plantain and Banana cultivation. You can also intercrop them.

2Minuteswoman:
Yes, you’re right. I heard they came from Cotonou, and most likely won’t even stay up to a year. After a year, I’ll probably start looking for another labourer. It doesn’t really make sense though.
If I may ask, Madam, what is your profession? Do you have a job besides farming ? Can't you manage your farm by yourself? Is your farm far from where you live? 9 acres is not a small piece of land o. Some of us are still trying to buy 1 acre of farm land undecided. God help us. Amen.
AgricultureRe: What Makes Northern Nigeria Ideal For Hibiscus Farming by Redman44(m): 6:01pm On Feb 06
Afrikfair711:
Hibiscus farming, popularly known as zobo production, has become one of the most promising agribusiness opportunities in Nigeria. While the crop can grow in different parts of the country, Northern Nigeria clearly stands out as the most suitable region for large-scale and profitable hibiscus farming.

Below are the main reasons why the North is ideal for hibiscus cultivation:

1. Favorable Climate

Hibiscus grows best in warm temperatures and moderate rainfall, conditions that naturally exist in most Northern states. The long dry season also helps during harvesting and drying, reducing losses caused by moisture and mold.

2. Suitable Soil Types

Most parts of Northern Nigeria have well-drained sandy loam soil, which hibiscus prefers. The crop does not do well in waterlogged areas, making the North’s soil structure a big advantage.

3. Large and Affordable Farmland

One major advantage of farming in the North is the availability of vast farmland. Land is generally cheaper and easier to access compared to many southern regions, making commercial hibiscus farming more feasible.

4. Lower Cost of Production

Cost of labor, land preparation, and general farm operations is relatively lower in Northern Nigeria. This significantly improves profit margins for farmers, especially those operating on a large scale.

5. Long History of Hibiscus Farming

Hibiscus has been cultivated in Northern Nigeria for many years. Local farmers already understand:

The right planting periods

Weed and pest control methods

Proper harvesting and drying techniques

This experience reduces mistakes and increases yield quality.

Conclusion

With its favorable climate, suitable soil, affordable farmland, lower production costs, and long-standing farming experience, Northern Nigeria remains the best region for hibiscus (zobo) farming. Anyone looking to venture into agribusiness will find hibiscus production in the North a practical and rewarding option.
My backyard and compound cultivation of Zobo has shown that there are different species of the crop/plant. I am learning a lot about Hibiscus ( Zobo ) farming with my own test run at home. I have even made Zobo drinks from Zobo I planted on my land in Ikorodu, Lagos. It is possible to cultivate Zobo in your compound for you and your family alone cool cool. Getting the Zobo seeds is another matter though. It is not easy procuring Zobo seeds that are prolific and healthy. Cheers.
AgricultureRe: What Makes Northern Nigeria Ideal For Hibiscus Farming by Redman44(m): 5:38pm On Feb 06
Hibiscus ( Zobo ) can grow in Southern Nigeria. I have planted and harvested Zobo in my compound in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Yes, Zobo is grown mainly in Northern Nigeria and the climate in Northern Nigeria is favourable. However, Zobo can be cultivated in Southern Nigeria too. It can grow on a variety of soils depending on the Zobo species. I still have Zobo seedlings I intend to transplant soon on my land. Cheers.
SportsRe: Throwback Picture Of Akor Adams,. Dreams Truly Comes True by Redman44(m): 5:28pm On Feb 06
Akor Adams will continue to improve and score great goals for Nigeria. At least we have a dependable second striker now. Tolu Arokodare could not hold down the second striker role after Chelle gave him the opportunities he was looking for. We have Akor and I am happy.

RillJ:
He was not deported for returning a lost wallet but for staying in the country illegally. With his situation, he ought to have avoided anything that will bring him to, or bring the law to him.

So long as he doesn't allow the present development to weigh him down, he will be fine last, last. God may just have opened a new chapter of testimony in his life.
Stay strong and focused.
God has a plan for the Man. He should not be sad. He should find something to do in Nigeria and God will bless him.

PoliticsRe: Obi/Tambuwal: This Is The Projected 2027 Presidential Ticket For ADC by Redman44(m): 2:47pm On Jan 01
Personally, I don't want Peter Obi to contest for President in Nigeria again. Our leaders in all the parties do not value this man. Obi is a good man and I believe he should continue performing his good deeds. Any government that values him should make him the Minister of the Economy. Or Minister of Agriculture, Trade and Industry. Cheers.
