The problem is, despite all the boasting you and yes other tribes do, no tribe in Africa can stand on its own, because most of you prefer to go to university and get a white collar job with your degree, than get a vocational and technical education and build the society of tomorrow.

That's why we are underdeveloped and we are in debt. All those boys and girls who are posing in their airconditioned offices are costing our government and economies billions of scarce forex. Yes, including the politicans and people on top, they are part of it.

But let me tell you something...any new nation that comes out of Nigeria, if it must be prosperous, a generation, maybe two would have to work very long and degrading hours, and do a lot of dirty work and manufacturing work to ensure the country becomes an industrial producer that can survive on its own if oil runs out.

Most of the Nigerians who want division or who want nigeria to remain united have their eye on the oil money. They do not have their eye on develoipment and using their raw materials to make exportable goods and services the world needs.

South Korea was behind many African nations as at 1960. I am not lying or exagerrating. It took a generation of people doing the three D's and a generatrion of white collar workers working their hands off before the country saw something like a first world life. It took them holding their education to high standards, such that kids had to start getting ready for university long before the time, before they could be an industrial nation.

It was not by fighting corruption alone. Yes, we need to do it, but it would not make us prosperous.

That one can be very annoying. You look at the bunches of plantain waiting for harvest and choose a day. Just one day to go and one thief goes there in the night to harvest. It makes one nearly run mad.

The same for catfish in earthen ponds far from your residence. One thief and his gang watch the fish grow and one day get there in the night to harvest fish and escape.

Farming has its risks, when it comes to humans and stealing. They never steal with pity. If they steal and leave something, if you do not remove what is left, they return to complete the evil job.

May God rescue hard working farmers from the hands of enemies as friends and evil pretenders, who reap where they do not sow.

what is killing local production is ELECTRICITY AND POOR GOVT POLICY.
we need very cheap electricity to produce, very cheap and abundant. wage is not a big deal here in naija and regulatory is weak.
but another big issue is erratic govt policy, u are at the mercy of the selfish politician in power. one govt may come and ban importation of ceramics yet another will come and lift the ban because his friend is the largest importer of ceramics to nigeria.
another issue is multiple taxation, once an industry start thriving u start seeing all kinds of revenue agnecy from everywhere demanding cuts or levy, this also doesnt help in anyway.

china is china and they will continue to do what they know how to do best. produce massively but very cheap. nobody can stop them- Trump tried but failed, EU also tried but failed. Nigeria cant stop them.
we just have to build resilience by first becoming self sufficient ourself then working with other serious countries in africa to form a trade bloc. that's the only way out.

3 months ago I planted small portion with groundnut to test. I've never grown it before.

Everything went well. It was more than 10x easier than growing cucumber. But as harvest approach, a thief came and harvested everything this morning.

The ones I managed to harvest is shown below. This is one of the silent challenges farmers face. But it won't discourage me from planting plenty groundnut, ginger, tumeric and pepper this year. So long as the thief keeps coming, I'll soon catch him/her. With God, there is no problem without solution.

Sorry for your loss, Sir. Farming can be a risky business sometimes. Was the land fenced with a gate ? I have suffered from Plantain theft too. People don't want to plant but they want to reap from where they did not sow. Don't give up on Farming though. Cheers.

We lost the 3rd quarter by 12 points. Not good at all. Guinea leads 68-62 in the 3rd quarter.

46-40 in favour of Nigeria. We won the first quarter and drew the 2nd quarter. Very tight game though. The Iroegbu brothers and Metu are really doing very well for Nigeria on the court.
