Pineapple takes longer to fruit than many other fruits. This I know for certain. This is why I am not interested in cultivating it. I prefer fruit trees that will yield plenty of fruits, and not one single fruit. Cheers.

There are lots of jobs there.... It all depends on you to know the kind of job to engage yourself with. If you are a skill person you can engage yourself in your area of specialization. Tho you must still undergo some basic trainings no that particular skill you got. In camp you can still learn any skill of your choice. Here in Algeria I work in a fabric company where we produce jeans trouser and shorts. It was here I Learnt how to operate the machines we use in washing pressing and drying the jeans.... Tho in Nigeria School what I studied was civil engineering but that does not count here...

I want to wish you success in your adventure in Algeria and finally in Spain. Pray hard and have faith in God. You will get there. However, I want you to look into working on a farm in Spain. Try and take the unusual route. Cheers.

Interesting thread. I am planting my own garden of Eden. I don't think figs are commercially profitable in Nigeria. I will like to plant one fig tree in my orchard though. From what I have read on this thread, figs are tasty 🙂🙂🇳🇬.

I need that 500,000 Naira🌱🌱. I will invest it by buying an acre of land in a remote area of Ogun or Oyo State. Then will be planting budded Oranges, Mango, Grape Citrus and Soursop gradually for the next one year on the land. Fruits are going to continue getting more expensive in Nigeria as the years roll by. I mentioned the Scandinavian countries because they speak English very well in those places unlike Western Europe. I still believe Australia and New Zealand have more opportunities for adventurous Nigerians. I mean people who want to really improve themselves and get knowledge about business and Agriculture .

Europe is not the only place to travel to. New Zealand and Australia are there. These two faraway lands have lots of opportunities that you need to research on. And if it must be Europe, go to countries like Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland . Exposure matters a lot.

Go to the white man's land and get exposure, money, experience and tech and come back to Nigeria to set up something. The exposure abroad is very vital. When you are back in Nigeria, hire your armed security and protect yourself. As long as you have a document that allows you to cross borders easily, you can settle back in Nigeria and be a pioneer in your line of business.

I love seriously I don't know why relocating abroad doesn't freek me a bit...I am a builder I was based in port Harcourt I always have the desire to establish a farm but down there you can't have the kind of space I had in mind to grow the kind of crops I wanted. A job too me to Edo State 2 years ago and I quickly looked around and I saw that there is very huge cultivable land here I quickly started doing my research I found out i can actually establish a farm here...I met someone to help me put something's together so I could kick start..boom ..d man and his wife made away with my 250k..I was not discouraged I got another place in Auchi area payed small money then handed over the responsibility to a man as I had a small job to do in Delta state,.booommm...that one too collected 500k..not a single seed of maize was planted...I still maintained , I called my younger brother from Benue to organize some boys for me and then my younger brother came and that was how I was able to stabilize....last year wasn't too good base on the disappointments from people but I managed to cultivate beans, cassava, etc .I sold other things and settled the boys now I have a lot of cassava on ground waiting for harvest..this year haven't been easy financially because I don't earn much and I spent soo much last year but I managed to get some yam seedlings, groundnut, maize which my people I almost done planting before we can start preparing for soya beans, beans and other crops....I am determined that I will keep pushing untill I get to my target...just that the issue of insecurity is a distraction and funding is another big challenge but by God's grace I believe I will conquer all that ..I have no desire to relocate abroad even if it's free of charge😁

I love your spirit, Sir. It is a can do spirit. I have the same kind of spirit. Farming must be done by yourself. There are very few trustworthy people in Nigeria. Most Nigerians are out for what they can get from you, simple. If you want anything done, do it by yourself. Make sure you visit your farm frequently and see things for yourself. Our people abroad should start learning from the white people by learning how they run farms, ranches and businesses. Farm work solves accommodation problems if you are abroad e.g Europe or USA or Canada, Australia/New Zealand. As a black person, it might be a bit hard getting a farm or ranch job but you must keep pushing. You will eventually get one and gain a lot of experience and exposure handling sheep, cattle, pigs etc. with experience you gain in 2-3 years as a farm hand, you can apply for Managerial positions in a big farm or ranch. You are settled for life in that way. You can also come back to Nigeria and establish a huge farm with your savings, and bring back the tech and knowledge to Nigeria. God help us all. Amen.
