MumIbeji:
Good evening mamas. Please help a FTM,

1. My 9days old DD has rashes on her face, what can I do to make it clear? I use a cream called smoothie. Don't know if its available at your end. Baby tribotan? Let other mamas guide u better.
2. Episiotomy site has been healing up but just 2days ago I started feeling slight pains down there and pus was coming out although its just little. c please endeavour to clean down there up with cotton wool dipped in antiseptic. Get someone to do it neatly for u, morning and night and after using the loo.

Porting from the preggy mamas thread...
Welcome

He is 3yrs plus.... so there is no pin doing whatever anywhere. From research and hearsay, it doesn't happen to babies 4months and above . Anyways you know best. BTW, friend is rubbing her baby the traditional medicine already.
rezzy:
Same thing I was told when my son of 7 months then was looking like a 3 months baby. He is 3+ now and still small for his age. My landlady told me last month that a pin is eating him that he needS traditional medicine to get better.

HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by redsocks(f): 3:30pm On May 08, 2018
Exactly! Some say pin like....The matter is a waawu ! Hmm, heard there's no side effects sha. Any which way na way. Thanks Ma.
FloraEC:
They should not put fear inside her o. They'll tell her the nta is eating up all the nutrient in the body, for the 7days they'll rub one kind red something on the child's body and give her mom grinded ugba+another mix mix ingredient to use and bathe the child. Threadlike something will come out from the child's body.

Thanks ma. They r in the hospital already.
hunniesuzie:
She should take the baby to the hospital. There is definitely something medically wrong. At least let her do that first before considering "traditional" solutions
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by redsocks(f): 12:04pm On May 08, 2018
This is very serious shocked. Thanks alot. I have googled more abt it. She's in the hospital already. I hope we hear better news.
goldylockisbnb:
Nta has an English name and it's failure to thrive. But that is not a diagnosis you have to find out what caused the failure to thrive in the ist place. It could be malnutrition or congenital heart disease, hiv, pylori stenosis etc. Most of the cases I see in the hospital I work are from malnutrition and substituting breast milk and appropriate feeds for pap and other local feeds when baby is still not up to 5 months. Other causes I have seen are congenital heart disease where the child has a hole in the heart.

She's in a dilemma now.I havent heard of this before, even those I called are not aware of d existence of this disease huh huh Who knows what nta is? (That's what ibos call it, don't know for other tribes)Is it real? What is d cause and cure? The ish now is that she was told that there is no 'oyibo' cure except traditional means. She afraid to proceed with all the 7days treatment. This is her baby's 4th week, she is loosing ..... has lost significant weight, her head is visibly, awkwardly bigger than her body, cries a lot, eats a lot but not looking healthy, can suck for hours, hardly sleep well. Just use your discretion . I use 3 scoops of milk for 210 mls. As for cereals, i know of gerber range for supported sitters.
Awesomemama:
Ds is 4months+ and I want to introduce pap, but not sure of the quantity of formular to use.
Do I still use the dilution on the tin?
And what type of cereal can be given @4months
Can puree be given as well?

Congrats ma. Collect seat O, u r welcome. Yes , breast milk is safe for dropping in the eyes. Few drops at a time should clear a mild eye discharge. I did it and it worked
