You can't beat a child and force him or her not to cry. That's sheer wickedness.

The above statement shows exactly what is happening in Nigeria today. Agitations in the South East are as a result of direct marginalization, ostracization and the cheating people of the region have endured since the return of democracy in 1999.

Since the return of democracy, no Igbo man has ascended the position of President and 22 years have passed already.

Many people in government and beneficiaries of the 'one Nigeria' project continue to call on everyone to embrace unity but forget to understand the concept of unity. They understand the reason people are agitating in the South, but are blinded by political correctness.
That's why a certain Ogunlewe will come on national television and say the Igbos cannot produce president in 2023, even when he knows that pursuing such an agenda will hamper our national unity. Of course, he is aware that there are many imminent Igbo sons who are overqualified to lead Nigeria, far better than what we have now.

But, he is happy to chew the seed of political correctness just to satisfy his paymaster.

In the spirit of equity, unity and peaceful co-existence, it is right that a South Easterner ascends the most elevated office in Nigeria come 2023, to show indeed that everyone wants Nigeria to be one.

People of the South East have openly expressed their anger about being politically cheated in Nigeria. No one enjoys being cheated.
Without mincing words, an Igbo man emerging as President in 2023 will to a large extent win the hearts of people from the region who are already or are willing to dance to the tunes being played by the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Olusegun Obasanjo was President for 8 years; Musa Yar'Adua succeeded him before Goodluck Jonathan took over. Now we have a Muhammadu Buhari who would have completed 8 years in 2023.

Does it sound right to you if people from the above regions still hold on to power come 2023? If you are looking for the best-qualified man, South easterners have it all. So cancel that lame excuse of merit.

It will be a great mistake should Nigerians deny Igbos who have spent 0 years in power since 1999, the opportunity to feel among and also pilot the affairs of the country in the right direction because they possess a class of excellent technocrats, businessmen and intellectuals with the capacity to make a real change.

You can't be shouting one Nigeria and still marginalize one of the leading tribes in the country.
People like Peter Obi, Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, Charles Soludo, Osita Chidoka and a host of others without any 'baggage' can turn this country around from its current pathetic state.

You know what I don't understand in all of these is the hatred for igbos and at the same time not wanting them to go form their own country.

The present crop of political class knows that should they allow Igbo presidency come 2023, a large portion of this agitation will end but they just don't want to. Reason being that they want another war with Igbos like 1967.

Op, I don't agree with your analysis. By the way you mentioned countries that splitted and are having issues, but I think your write up would have been rather balanced if you had mentioned nations that splitted and are living in peace.

Igbo Presidency?

First of all, I'm a Ghanaian lady, but I have more affiliations to the Igbo, that I would support them because I feel they are worth the answer to all of Nigerians problem.

I've stayed in Nigeria for years, and I can greatly say I appreciate the Igbos way more than any tribe for who they are in person and the development they bring to your country Nigeria.

What would Nigeria be without the Igbos? Nothing, I speak from truth.

In Kumasi and Accra, they are know to do exploits and have done pretty much for our nation. There was a time that our president had given them accolades for their presence in our country.

And as as an add my mom is Igbo, and i'm happy to have a blood link, that links me to them . The Adanna of the Igbo soil, as my mum would smile and tell me.

First of all, Igbos don't need presidency. I've made my research and observed this.
If you give them, they'll collect but that addds nothing to them.

What they really need is the equal opportunity of all, all men having the choice to excel in a geopolitical environment.

I observed that other tribes like the Yoruba's and Hausa's or other tribes in general want it to satisfy their ego.
The thought of "Yoruba man is president and Igbo or Hausa isn't, so we are known, much and accepted..."

Although it's a good way to think, its somewhat sickening to me. What is the purpose of feeding an ego that you end up suffering at the end. I don't get it? So if you have an answer drop in the comment.

Secondly, when your Yoruba or Hausa president is in office, having the opportunity you travel abroad and live where there's much comfort, while your brothers (who you claim to love) suffer based on the person you chose as president to feed your ego does nothing.

How would you (Yoruba's and Hausa's) claim to be united when you go to elections as if you're gambling. You stake your president's based on ego and greed and you claim to be united (funny)

Igbos on the other hand as I've seen hardly want a presidency, and I believe if they fought for it as Yoruba's do, they'll get it. But that isn't what they want.

They want an equal opportunity for all. They want each geopolitical zones that they do go to, to have opportunities. A man in the west is supposed to be satisfied for working, and having the credentials as a man in the east. That's all the seek.

So when they say, "Igbo wants presidency or are looking for more supporters to support them." They get it all wrong, and even some Igbo mocks them based on their tribal sentiment.

The youths in Nigeria have been so brainwashed that they play with their lives in general like they are playing Card games, or put simply gambling-- totally outrageous and silly I must say.

Instead of asking for presidency, why not ask the Hausa president or the president there for equality for all?
Isn't it why your ancestors made the land, or decided to join the contract called Nigeria?

But most youths have failed themselves and blame Buhari. Buhari hasn't nothing to do with it, as they said initially, I mean APC "Change starts with you."

Is the truth, but the question which lies here is what use have you made with that change?

And I'll repeat Igbo don't want presidency and Nigeria is not a game, Nigeria is part of you. I'm Ghanaian and Nigerian, so if one doesn't work, I can land somewhere. I even have a Green card, like this .

But what I'm saying is have pity on yourself. What use are you making for yourself that playing the tribal card, and playing with your life and your generation to come in general.

What would your descendants say about you when they arrive. Would they appreciate you for the good work you did for them? Or would they curse you for ever being born in your lineage, just the same way we do for our parents because most of them failed the nation they called their own.

Igbos don't want presidency they want restructing-- an equal opportunity for all. Thank you.

Away from sentiment, Osinbanjo have not been tested in terms of leadership. The position he presently occupies VP especially under Buhari has not in any way projected his leadership qualities. He has been docile, intimidated and cowed. Now tell me what development has he attracted even in his state to warrant a compararism with Peter Obi who was a governor with starling performance in Anambra state.

Las las, tribalism will enter this tread aside that Osinbanjo haven't done anything to merit presidency.

Peter Obi brought development to Anambra state too numerous to mention. He managed the economy of Anambra too well. Whatever Onitsha is today was Obi.

Finally,I doubt wr should compare a VP to a governor. Their positions are distinct and allows for clear differences in terms of performance. VP position doesn't have any performance to context with a governor. I would rather prefer a governor to another governor.

3.88 is a very good start. However endeavour to intensify your study, don't get distracted by fine girls and laziness so you can blow much higher G.P than this.

The media has been agog by the story of Nigerias super cop Abba Kyari's indictment in a scam to the tune of $1.1million championed by Mr. Ramon popularly known as HushPuppi. Consequently, the US district court has issued a warrant of arrest to extradite Abba Kyari to the US to enable him clear himself.

Since the shocking news broke into our national space, there has been diverse feelings. These diverse feelings has been fueled of course by religious and ethnic sentiment which are the main tools that has been used over the years to keep Nigeria in her present sorry state.

In fact I read a very short piece written by one of Nigeria's government opposition leading figure (name withheld) where he made a caricature of the parttern of recent arrests. He went on to say that since MNK is from the East, Igboho from the West and Now Kyari from North, that this is a true representation of federal character and urged the present government to emulate fairness in their political dealings by way of ensuring that every region are properly represented in our national government as against what we currently have.

His seemed really funny, but I feel it is not funny rather more serious than we think. I think it is one too many, from internet scam, to drug, child trafficking and of course political lootings. Call a spade what it is a spade, the most current event involving DCP Abba Kyari is a national embarrassment. It is an indictment on every Nigerian, a big stain that no amount of bleach can certainly remove. It is another pointer and an eye opener to what is going on at the echolon of security circle. Take it from me there is no saint among them.

Unfortunately, in our usual way of taking sides on ethnic and religious line, some northerners including the almighty Miyetti Allah have continued to fume, calling the whole episode a plot to dent his image, destroy his career and get him out of the police force. They have accused the South of working with FBI to mess Kyari up. Reading on these, I couldnt help but shake my head in utter regret and shame. They have even issued a press release, accusing of NEF of not doing enough to defend their interest. Really, your interest in a matter such s this. This is unacceptable.

On the other hand, the South have risen to say investigate him, if found guilty crucify him. Which ever way, I think the Southern position is far more modest. It shoukdnt be about tribe now, anyone found wanting should be prosecuted. I had expected the North to even say that first but no. By the way allegation is not the end of a mans life and the accused remains innocent until proven guilty. Therefore, if accused of any wrong doing the best bet would be to surrender oneself to appropriate authorities for investigation.

Our greatest problem, in fact what should form our bulk of concern now should be the get rich quick syndrome occasioned by whatever. While Abba Kyari must clear himself of this indictment, I think it is even more pertinent that we get to the root of this get rich quick syndrome ravaging our young and old men.

Sadly, It s heartbreaking to say that even our political class are not left out in this get rich quick madness. Note it, as HushPuppi case unfolds even into greater dimension I see heads roll. I see quite a lot of politicians and none political actors going down in shame if any is left with them.

The system is corrupt to high heavens. In fact in Nigeria now, if you are not into one shady business or the other you don't know whatsup. Get rich quick has become a norm and people flint it with any remorse or fear. Our old people are involved in this mess too. The youths are deeply swimming in it and there is no U-turn in sight very soon.

The implication of this can be better imagined if we continue like this as a people. First and very soon, it will become dog eat dog system. Many of us who are cheering Abba Kyari today and frowning at FBI invitation extended to him will become victims of scammers someday if not frowned at now. It is only a matter of time it will fester and become a national disease just like kidnapping is fast becoming a growing national disaster.

Another implication will be that everyone will sudeenly become lazy to work. If I have an easy means of stealing from you why then do I work? Isn't it much easier to scam any gullible fellow around, disposses him or her of her possession and move on with life like nothing ever happened. Of course that will be the best thing to do.

Again, our value in the international scene would have become an irritating thing in the eyes of civilized world. Already our national passport is fast loosing weight like a piece of tissue paper. It does not attract any respect or regard at the world scene and we risk the more worthless of this if this spate of mess is not chequed.

To check crime, government should provide jobs. The major reason for crime is idleness as a result of lack of jobs. Imagine that the youths a largely and meaningfully employed. I believe crime will drastically reduce.

The implication of of this HushPuppi way of making money will be so tough in the coming days.
