aminulive:@Op i totally disagree with you. The igbos have never played ethnic or isolation politics. According to you they voted Obasanjo against Ojukwu their own. They also voted enmass for late Yar'adua then every Nigerian voted Jonathan. The igbos being a people who hate injustice became angry when propagandas went to high heavens against Jonathan. By this time tribal politics were already being introduced by other regions using insecurity and corruption as yardstick. This did not settle well with the Igbos. Secondly, the Igbos didn't want Buhari because of their perception about him as a failed leader during his military government. But because the west had already formed alliance with the North Igbos became like the enemies and to make matter worst Buhari tow the ethnic and nepotistic line and everything kuku scattered hence the Igbo agitation for seperation was reawakened. |

"Tell it not in Gath's, tell it not on the street of askelon, lest the daughters of the phillistine rejoice" Oh how are the mighty fallen. These are the exact quotes to describe the fall of one of Nigeria's finest police officers Abba Kyari. I became wary of Abba Kyari when i saw him show up at Obi Cubana flambouyant mother's burial in Oba Anambra state. I just knew there was more to Abba Kyari than meets the eyes. Few weeks after Abba Kyari has been fingered by a well known scammer Hushpuppi, to have collected bribe in scam deal to the tune of $1.1million. Evidences have emerged showing that the chief scammer Hushpuppi has paid Abba Kyari at different times for his roles in shady deals carried out by he Hushpuppi. Many are shocked as usual. Many are surprised that of all people almighty Abba Kyari could go down in this manner. Yes, it is only normal for people to feel differently reason being that Abba Kyari has over the years proven to be good at his job as a crime burster. He has led several operations and unearthed hardened criminals in our society and has tried to maintain before Nigerians a clean slate but unfortunately, what we thought may not be. Take it or leave it, criminality is at all times high in Nigeria. The more reason I frowned at the lavish burial Obi Cubana threw at Oba. Many cheered him but I didn't because I knew the implication of such flamboyant burial in a system like ours. Only God knows how many innocent guys in quote who will go into crime just to give their own mother same type of burial when she dies and to trend like Obi Cubana did. Our system is deep in corruption. Its as if almost everyone is a thief in Nigeria today. Said that, many people who are parading themselves as doing well are deep in some shit. Just don't pray that God open your eyes to their activities because you will be shocked. It is not only Abba Kyari in the police force. Some inspectors with their megere salaries are landlords in choicest areas of Lagos and other states. Why do you think they exact so much energy at chasing yahoo boys? Why do you think every well dressed youth is into criminality as far as they are concerend? Thank God for End SARS protest. Before that protest many of our uniform men made a hell of money from their victims. Landlords are stealing through outrageous house rents imposed on their tenants. Banks are stealing through unecessary bank charges. Civil servants are taking theirs right in their offices before they will pass your document to the next table. Religious organizations are not left out as they brainwash their members into preaching tithe as the only way to heaven and all sort of other avenues of extortion. The politicians are the worst of them all let's not even go there. Companies are under paying staffs and the list is endless. Mechanics, artisans are doing the same even street petty sellers. Unfortunately, it is going to get worst in the coming days because the economy is getting messier by the day. Its going to get worst because we now celebrate easy money than hardwork. Its going to get worst because culture and values have been eroded and so everything that makes up healthy human life is now in shambles. How are the mighty fallen indeed. Abba Kyari has given us reason to really probe into the lives our security agents to unravel how they really leave. No wonder with their poor salary, they don't protest. They don't hold their superiors nor government to account for a better remuneration. When the citizen do, they go all out to kill and main for protesting for a better Nigeria and you begin to wonder if they are not affected by the worsening economy. Of course when they have avenues through which they make real money why then should they tolerate protest that is in the interest of all. It is a shame. |

I am shocked to my bone marrow by the surprising revelation of Asari Dokubo over the name Biafra. He has opined that the name Biafra belongs to the Ijaws, oron and a little bit of Ibibios and so has nothing to do with Igbo. Further he claimed that the name was put forward by an Ijaw man Frances Opigo at the a meeting in Enugu in 1967. As far as Asari Dokubo is concerned, the region called Biafra is Ijaw nation and so in the event the independent of Biafra is declared the sovereign nation will be Ijaw republic and not Igbo speaking republic. This is a heavy pill to swallow. Although, as interesting as his ascertain is, it leaves some trace of confusion which is that if the phrase Biafra has nothing to do with the Igbos, how come the meeting where the name was adopted was convoked in Enugu the heart of old Eastern region? Permit me to say that the meeting may have been held in Enugu given that all present SS and SE states were referred to as Eastern Nigeria back in those days. What this means is that every state in the old Eastern Nigeria today shares in that name. Sot the dilemma will be to resolve which region between SE and SS will finally go with the name Biafra. Said that, Asari's claim should not be brushed aside. No sensible Igbo man should sweep Asari's starling reveation under the carpet. His ascertion puts a lot of concern forward. Germaine among them is why Igbo's should be calling for a separate nation under an umbrella name that has no meaning in Igbo language as claimed by Asari Dokubo. Our problem as it were is that we brush everything aside and we say it doesn't matter until when it matters. What we are talking aboutis a matter of serious consequence. First, I am ashamed of the Igbo tribe, a major tribe in Nigeria to be clamouring for seperation under a name that can't be found in Igbo language. I must commend Asari for throwing up this. I have always wondered the meaning of Biafra. Oh yes now a household name in every Igbo family, but what is the meaning in Igbo language? If no Igbo man can tell me the meaning in Igbo then we have just been fooling ourselves all these years. Unfortunately, till this moment nobody had been able to put forward the meaning of Biafra in Igbo language. I really do not care what it means in Ijaw language but in Igbo language. It is like a Yoruba person calling for the separation of Yoruba tribe and instead of saying Oduduwa he is saying Umu Chukwu nation. How do you expect people to take you serious in the first instance? The foundation of the formation of a new state must be rooted in that tribe especially in the African setting where meaning is drawn from every name. The above is very important because the identity of an emerging new nation begins first in its name. That is the trademark. So if from the unset the name is borrowed, rootless and meaningless in the original tribe calling for separation then such a nation is already standing on a wrong footing. Well, I also don't want to assume that the Igbo elders and the likes of MNK does not know the meaning of Biafra in Igbo language. It is very possible that they know, but decide to play along believing that the Igbos and the Ijaws will be in the new nation together. If that is the truth, very unfortunate now that the Ijaws have washed off their hands and have denounced being part of Biafra repeatedly rather wants their own independent nation is it not gravely dangerous to continue to agitate for an Igbo nation while chanting Biafra? If Asari Dokubo's revelation on Biafra is anything to go by, given their cold feet at joining the Igbo nation, we must then drop the name Biafra and adopt a new name that every Igbo child can call knowing its full meaning in Igbo language. Igbos, must go back to the drawing board. Do a thoughrough work on the name of the new nation, understand the possibility of being an independent nation away from other sister regions or accept to explore other means of nationhood. We can't continue to chant a nation that is not ours, has no meaning in our dialect and can be claimed by any other region at any time. That is risky and unacceptable. |
Kaduna1stson:I have always read your very foolish comments on almost every thread and I must say you are a pained serial loser. Why do you want Ibos and Yoruba to remain with you diseases infested creatures? Oh! I forgot your collective existence up north depends on the South. Guess the hard and bitter truth for you? South must go and you must be starved to death in your useless usual numbers. You lots are a curse to any people. Woe be upon you and everything you can call yours. Serial failure! |
Today, the 26th of July will mark a remarkable day in the history of Nigeria. It is the trail of MNK in Abuja. The decision of the court will either make or mar us as a nation. The tension is already on the rise all over Abuja. Security have blocked all entrance leading to FHC. On the other hand, die hard suporters of MNK and Biafra are already making their entrance into Abuja in solidarity of MNK. It is our utmost hope that justice will truly prevail today. Due to some reasons, many of us may not be at the court to solidarize and witness the court proceedings. But of course everyone must not be there! I therefore humbly call on anyone who can go to go. If you can protest please go ahead and do so. If you can write on the social media platform please do not hesistate. Blessed be our very committed abroadians who have been making us proud through their protest in almost all civilized nations of the world. Keep the spirit high gentlemen. "No retreat, no surrender" British must hear our voice. America must hear our voice. Israel must hear our voice. Africa must hear our voice. UN must hear of our voice. Enough is enough. If we refuse to fight now, our children will continue to fight and we don't want them to rather enjoy a nation that works. A nation they can proudly say God bless and call their own. They really can't say that about Nigeria, no I don't see that happening. The reason we have suffered this much in the hands of a few people called Fulani, is because we have refused to fight. We have played the gentle people politics. Unfortunately we have been vilified for this. We have also been demonized while those who taunt, main, steal our wealth, arrest, inprison and kill us have been canonized. For how long will this continue? The fulani does not understand peace, the don't understand negotiation or dialogue. That is why I pity those who don't understand the demons and the monsters we are confronted with in Nigeria and the reason why we must stand tall in this struggle to support MNK, Igboho and any other one calling for separation from Nigeria. The Fulani only understand the language of war, war and war. Biafra must come and any other region that wants same. Of course, we want it to come peacefully but if it will take war to come then so be it since that is all the fulanis want. We are no longer afraid to die. Anyone still afraid to die must be living in decades past. The days of fear and fear is all over. Justice for MNK Justice for Sunday Igboho Let Biafra and Oduduwa go. |
I read the caption "low turn out of voters mar LG election in Lagos" I couldn't help but laugh out very loud. What does these mudfuckers take Nigerians for? Why do they think Nigerians are still interested in cueing under the sun just to vote one criminal somewhere who suddenly rose to prominence few weeks back because election is around the corner? I am so happy to be alive to witness this new wave of development. This is just the beginning to the end of this decades of political madness and calumny. Very soon even the "low turn out" will not even be there. That means nobody will vote again. I recall growing up, the joy of election and exercising my franchise as enshrined in the constitution. Today all that is gone. No one cares about voting anymore! Truth is it is going to get worst in the coming days. Nigerian politicians should brace up because we are gradually getting there. Its a case of ones beaten twice shy! The madness can no longer be tolerated. Nigerians has been taking for granted for too long. Which investor continues to invest in business when he can't make profit? Our votes is our investment to say we want better government, working system, standard infrastructure and a nation we can all be proud of. But today the reverse is the case. Our votes has become a sponsor to go and steal and sqaunder. All we have succeeded in doing in the past years with our votes is raising squandermanias of the highest proprtion you can think of anywhere in the world. Shamless creatures, rogues concienceless fellers. Nigerians are saying enough is enough. In earnest, I will rather catch a lovely sleep in my house than vote any of these retards, clueless and wicked individuals masquerading themselves as leaders in Nigeria. The saying "everyday for the thief and one day for the owner of the house" is gradually becoming the case of Nigerian politicians. Of course someone may say if nobody votes how do we elect our leaders? Such a wonderful question! But I will also ask such a one which leaders? Let me take my humble self as an example, I have never enjoyed or benefitted anything from being a Nigerian. I can say with my chest wide open that it has been through the grace of God living in Nigeria and am sure that is the testimony of many out there. We pay with our last sweat to live and survive in this country. So where does the joy come from to go and vote for any politician? The same way I have lost interest in voting, same way many Nigerians have. We can't keep doing the same thing again and against and expect a different result. Until they are ready to do the right thing we are not ready either. To hell with the election and the vote! |
The more you try to refrain from talking about Nigeria and all its jagajaganess the more you find yourself engolfed even deeper in it. It is not our fault that we find ourselves talking about our dear country in a negative way when American citizens are so proud of theirs and constantly say with all sense of pride "God bless America" Do we blame God for our woes? Hell no! Someone once made a joke about God during the creation of Nigeria. I heard that after God had created all nations someone took offence and asked God why he blessed Nigeria so much and God said to the person, you wait and see the kind of people that will live in that country. This joke buttresses the state we find ourselves in Africas most populous black nation. A nation blessed beyond measure. Great people with abundant human and natural resources yet Ghana is better than us. It is hard to say but we just must say it, at least for the sake of posterity. We must continue to day it because our yet unborn generation will also have to read our contributions to nation building. It is now left to them to discover that all our clarion call for better governance in our nation all fell on deaf ears at least maybe that will help exhanourate us. The fact remains that our incoming generations will ask questions, what we did with our abundant mineral resources. They will also enquire why we have not moved to a second world nation. They will ask about how electricity is perpetually fluctuating. They will want to know why our educational system is as bad as it is. They will equally travel to Dubai and see what infrastructure looks like and then come back home and compare for themselves. Their conclusion had better been imagined. The big question will be, how did we get here? Nigeria has never been so badly hit with bad leaders like we have it today. What we have is a bunch of clueless national cake sharers and squandermanias. I recall the peak of 2015 general election how that a region of the country refused to vote Buhari. Like many,I had almost gotten trapped in Buhari's political campaign promises of integrity, how corruption will be a thing of the past, 1 naira will become 1 dollar, boko haram will know there is a new sheriff in town and so many others like that. Most Nigerians got trapped in this web. I recall taking out time to ask my father why some people didn't want Buhari as president. My father simply said to me "you were too small in 1984, Buhari was a bad leader". That singular statement saved me from the regret that would have flooded my heart today at least seeing that my vote contributed in bringing this disaster on Nigerians. Without mincing word, forget all the propaganda of Lie Mohammed and his co travellers, this government is the worst Nigeria has ever had. This position is open to intelligent and factual debate. If you can give me a run for my miney, then you mustprepare to tell me the regime with high inflation rate like this present government? Tell me the regime that has aided ethnic and religious division like this very one. Tell me the regime that has promoted nepotism, violence and sectionalism more than this government. How on earth did we get here for goodness sake? |

Op, I have a feeling that you know the truth already but you just want to knack heads here. Well I will not say much than, in your next life if any pray to be an Igbo man. Those guys are just too much. Igbo Amaka! |
MadamVanessa:Same here! |
Everyone has watched with keen interest how the Igbos including have detested everything and anything called Nigeria and one Nigeria. Hence have been taking the bullets for all and sundry for the liberation of mankind. I say it with boldness, what the Biafrans are asking for is freedom and this freedom is freedom for all. The moment Biafra gains freedom, Oduduwa will and any other region who so desire it. So when I say taking bullets for mankind i mean it for what it is. Chief Odumegwu Emeka Ojukwu could be noted as the pioneer of the Igbo struggle for an independent nation from Nigeria. Of course, he fought, went on exile when the heat became much, and afterwards died naturally without achieving the biafran struggle. Since then the ideology has become strong that not any force can uproot it from the blood. Chief Uwazuruike took over the baton, led the MASSOB movement and at some point threw in the towel, went silent and incapacitated. In a nutshell, it could be said that Uwazuruike abandoned the struggle. Many have suggested that he Uwazuruike had collected bribe from the powers that be and decided to bid the struggle farewell. Whether this allegation is true or not remains a subjet of debate. For some years now, the pages of news papers has been agog with the coming of Nazi Nnamdi KANU. No doubt, this young Afaraukwu born has commanded influence and followership. In his self styled way of going about the struggle everyone is left to judge for themselves how they percive MNK and his pattern of struggle. Many love his boldness and some others do not share in his approach to the Biafran struggle even though they believe in the struggle. Unfortunately, the Biafran struggle has been misconstrued by certain people especially the Niger Deltans. I have heard prominent figures like Chief Edwin Clark, Nyesom Wike say over their dead body will the Nigeria Delta be part of Biafra. Many of them from that region has corroborated same position with many throwing tantrum and accusing the Biafrans of wanting to conscript them into Biafra because of their oil. This thought is sickning and utterly laughable. The Nigeria Deltans should know better about the Igbos their brothers and sisters. The tribe called Igbo is one unique race argue it anywhere. Although they have their imperfection. But to attribute the call for brothers and sisters to come together as a ploy for Biafrans to take over their oil is a sign of in depth ignorance. Everyone sane Nigerian and abroadians knows the Igbos to be highly independent people. I use the word "sane" because their are people who know the truth but would always want to sweep it under the carpet. The Igbos are very industrous and hardworking creatures. The Igbos is one race that dont care about what the government can offer them. They don't care about the natural resources in their backyard. They only care about what their natural strength can give to them. To buttress the above point, how many igbos are militants and are blowing up oil pipelines in Imo and Abia simply because of their own share of the oil money? How many of them are writing letters to the federal government and threatening them for one development of the other else be ready for a showdown due to pending doom of blowing up oil installations in the above states mentioned which are pure Igbo state? The Igbo people are a people devoid of sense of entitlement. The Niger Deltans must be reminded that the Igbos have states that produce oil listed in the above paragraph. In fact IMO and Abia states are members of oil producing states. It is hoped that very soon Anambra with her large gas reserve will join the list. If a region like the SE with an estimated population of 40million people have three states producing oil and gas, coupled with their industrious and ingenuine nature I doubt if the SE will not live comfortably fine and develop tremendously in no time in the event they are granted Biafra. Again, the Niger Deltans of Chief Edwin Clark and co travellers should understand that the Biafran clamour for SS to join them is only born out of the spirit of brotherhood. It is what i will call brother looking out for his brother. For example, before the political division that brought about the present regions in Nigeria the whole of present day SS was called East. Forget about this demonic political divisions, you are all East. Secondly, there is hardly any state in the present day SS that does not have a large chunck of Igbo speaking indigenes. It is only normal that these Igbo speaking indigines of Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River join their brothers where they can feel safer due to the power of common language and culture. This is very important without any ambiguity. The purpose of this piece is not to curry anyone to accept to be part of Biafra. It is to draw attention to the dangerous and malicious intentions, propaganda and insensitivity being demonstrated by my people of SS or Niger Deltans. The SS should realize that what makes a nation is not oil but human capital which the Igbos have demonstrated to have over the years even in strange land. If oil is the solution, maybe Nigeria wouldn't have been in this mess. There are lots of countries today who are doing well without a drop of oil. So my people from the SS should emancipate themselves from oil slavery and embrace the reality staring them in the face before it is too late. Sadly, oil is fast going into relegation. Maybe they should be reminded to check facts. Nations who patronize our oil are gradually moving on to other means of living. It is just a matter of time oil will become a forbidden commodity. With the advent of electric cars etc, my people from the Niger Delta had better wake up from their sleep and make hale while the sun shines because the illusion of oil is a very dangrous one. Join your brother and sisters now before it is too late. |
Northern Nigeria, I am compelled to ask you these all important questions hoping that I will get some honest answers. Northern Nigeria, please note that these questions are not born out of hatred, malice or any other, but from a clear conscience and from a fellow Nigerian who feels disatified with everything coming from the North yet bears no grudge. First, you have had the biggest tenure in terms of presidency of Nigeria, military and democratic system of government put together yet you are hell bent on retaining same even after 2023. Why have you chosen to disregard zoning and federal character which you were the architect of in time past? Again, despite the number of years leadership has been domiciled in your hands, your region is the worst developed. Your people live below poverty level with the menace of Terrorism, herdsmen, banditry, kidnapping and diseases ravaging you in great proportions. Secondly, Northern Nigeria your Southern counterparts have for so long agitated for independence and you have refused to so to it that at least a referendum is conducted to allow people choose where to belong. You seems to have forgetton so soon that this same refusal is what led to the Nigerian civil war of 1967 with millions of nigerians, men, women and children wasted including properties worth trillions of Naira. Why do you prefer violence in solving every simple issue? You have fastened your seat belt, cocked your guns, shappened your cutlasses and waiting for the slightest provocation to strike because it is a must that Nigeria remain as one. Dear North, what exactly is your fear in this whole self determination of thing? Why do detest it so much including those who champion it? Is there a covenant to this one Nigeria that only you the northerners are privy to? If yes, who activated the covenant? For what, where, how, when and who activated the covenant? Do you not have enough land to graze your cattle? Are your grasses lacking in protein and cabohydrate, water and vitamin that it must be the South that will bear the brunt of your reckless abandonment. Why do you take pleasure in spilling the blood of the innocent, you marry underage, you rape, main, kill and so on. Northern Nigeria, why do you feel so comfortable squandering our national cake coming predominantly from the South without a dime contribution. You own your gold, cattle, farm produce but yet commandeers NNPC, NIMASA, NPA etc. What is your genuine reason for wanting an expired and a failed marriage to continue as though nothing is wrong even if it cost the head of every Nigerian? |
Dear Southern Nigeria, I write you this open letter with a totally broken heart. I am pained by your docile, selfish and very weak disposition towards all you have been through in the hands of Northerners. Worst, I am deeply saddened how you allow the bunch of savages up North cause divisions among you using the instrument of propaganda and state force to keep you perpetually down. My heart bleeds seeing the Yorubas hate Igbos, Igbos in turn hate Yorubas. You have rejected each other forgetting you were once south before Nigeria and the subsequent breaking into pieces you find yourselves today under SW, SE and SS. You have lost sight with the fact that these political breakups are deliberate, well calculated at causing you to fight each other down south while those who divided you have a field day laughing at you. Today, you have been taking captive in your lands. Today you have no say in governance. Today you are double checked before a single appointment. You produce all the money but you lack everything. Your oil and sea ports are controlled by those who have vowed to subjugate you and yours forever even though they contribute nothing to national coffers. Your kings, chiefs, governors, representatives, senators and the likes have become men and maid servants to the caliphate of Usman danfodio. You are better educated but your education seems to be working against you in the present status quo. As faras they are concerned you are second Fidel and sheeps for slaughter whenever they get hold of you. My heart aches and refusing to be consoled and comforted. Oh Southern Nigeria when will you wake up from your slumber and realize you really need to take the bull by the horn, call a spade a spade, look your Nebuchadnezzars and Pharoahs in the face and tell them off and be free forever? Till this minute, I hear and read many of you still defending a clearly nepotistic government in all intent and purpose. A very anti South regime, designed and orchestrated to cause death and poverty. I see you sabotaging each other at every given opportunity forgetting you are brothers and sister with a slight difference in language. Your self styled e-warriors are the most irritant and useless of you all. Oh South who cursed you? Who is behind your foolishness and blindness? When will you be tired of the cloak of these despicable wicked marauding tyrants masquerading themselves as your leaders but your enemies from the North only because of your wealth? Again I ask when will you demand to breakaway and stand alone as a nation which is in tandem with Gods original design for you. Your co-habitation with the cow people of desert is ungodly therefore come out from among them and be you seperate. Your almagamation in 1914 was and is still the biggest error in heaven and in hell and it will remain so as long as you continue to be called Nigeria. Lord Lugard did you you evil, but may your God reward him and his generation yet unborn. Sleep has been murdered in my eyes for decades. I weep without control. I am full of question why the almighty south is this cold, tired and worn out. Crying bitterly and refusing to be appeased. Your younger ones graduates from school and all they do is roam the streets looking for daily bread. Yet the none educated are employed automatically given all parafenelia of office simply because they bear Abubakar. Your brothers Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi KANU are used as scape goat while their fields solders commanders and killers are given amnesty and rehabilitated into the society. Unfortunately, many of you don't see anything wrong in these glaringly obvious insult and humiliation on the South. I see you are yet to understand that and insult on an Igbo man is one on Yoruba vis a vis. But not too worry, with time you will understand better. My only prayer is that may it not be too late when you realize it. It is never too late oh South! Come together now or never. Yoruba and Igbo are one. Fight for your common destiny locked up by the desertians. You are better off as a country than with the Northerners. Seize to ask to breakaway as Biafra or Oduduwa because a united Southern Nigeria nation will better serve your interest than in a smaller nations. |
Just this evening I was walking off to get some stuffs around my house and I came across this terribly messed up gutter completely filled up with blockades. Although we are aware the nature of an average Nigerian and their penchant for throwing every trash into the gutter. It has become a culture here and we would have to live with it for long because there is no end in sight to it. Consequent upon how our government operates, it is crystal clear that we have federal, state and local government roads. Unfortunately, our attention has for many years been diverted from the local government to the government at the center. Every dick and harry is opinionated about what the president is doing and not. At best what the governors are doing and not but no one cares what the local governments and their chairmen are doing. This I'll thought tendency has truly left us in ruin, our streets in shamble and nothing to right home about. Again I ask, what is the role and the benefit of local government system in Nigeria? If 2 kilometer gutters can not be properly cleaned up to allow free flow of water then what else can we possibly expect from our local governments. It is very clear and utterly disheartening to see that the only activity his our local government headquarters is sharing of money. In most of the offices, staffs walking about aimlessly with many just idling away in the office and gossiping all day without doing a jack yet collect monthly salary. To make matter even worse we have staffs in our local government system who all they do is show up mark register and disappear into tin air and many others don't even show up but have macenaries who help them mark their attendance yet they get paid at the end of every month. Truth be said, local government system in Nigeria needs to be made accountable or completely scrapped for good. It is a total waste of resources having local goveent headquarters littered all over whereas doing nothing at all. It is really annoying. |
Going by the recent trend of events in Nigeria, everyone is most like now permutationist if there is any word like that. Our atmophere has been so hit by different typed of wind. The wind of bad leaders, Northern hegemony, terrorism, banditry, secessionists, Kidnapping and fulani herdsmen not forgetting the agitation for separation. Over time, the Northern elites have made all Nigerians to believe that the raging fire is also consuming them even when it looks like in all intent and purpose the fire are politically motivated. No doubt, the North had suffered so much in recent past with grave consequences that will take years to reverse if ever. But of course who really cares what is happening to bunch of savages across the ocean. According to history, the North has ruled Nigeria more than all other region put together have. Their political calculations has favoured them from every strata of our national life. It is no longer news that the North presently occupy every strategic position in our nation. Although this is not a new thing, but this height of nepotism became obvious and under the Buhari regime and it is unacceptable and condemnable. In the real sense of it, the North has contributed nothing to this nation rather they take and take and take and when other region speak up they are vehemently opposed and haunted using the apparatus of state. More, countless secret appointments has been uncovered in our parastatals and reported in national dailies. It is no longer a hidden thing that from Nimasa to NNPC, to our armed forces, paramilitary, CBN, NPA ecetera has become Northernized. A careful listen to every newly established institution has been located in the North. Sometime ago, I came across a list comprising federal establishemts in Kaduna state alone and I couldn't help but shake my head and asked what exactly we are still doing together with these people up North. But when you come to the South, you hardly feel the presence of federal government especially South East and South South regions. Apart from maybe Lagos and port Harcourt, I don't know any other state in the South that can boast of any meaningful federal establishment in the last decade. Everything begins from North and ends in the same North. This clear marginalization has led to all kinds of grievances. Among the many is MNK and Sunday Igboho who have risen to demand for a separation from Nigeria as a result of the broaday injustices. As usual these garmaine calls had been greeted with military intimitations, harassment and extra judicial arrest and executions. One then begin to wonder if there is not law that supports self determination. Another question that comes to mind is, is it a must that Northern and Southern protectorate remains together even when the odds are against it? Even a blind man knows that the union has long elapsed? Sadly, the North has allowed themselves to be used to open the eyes of the Southerners. Today, Southern governors are more united than ever. They now find the need to hold meetings in the interest of the South. All things truly works together for good. Truth is, in the whole madness handed down South by the North, the North is gradually pushing the South to seceed. The recent madness is the refusal for the South to produce the next president. Even when they would have had their fair share of uninterrupted eight years under Buhari regime by 2023. The North must be reminded Southerners are not fools. They must also be told that peradventure the Southerners has acted foolishly before now, foolishness may have expiry date. Therefore, any further push from the North will lead to the South taking some critical decisions that will bother on South separating from North forever while maintaining an independent nation. Another way the North will get their finger burnt if their madness does not stop is that most of the middle belt states if not all will choose to go with the South rather than remain with the North. I am not a prophet but I see that happening. This decision will further balkanize the North by land mass, population and economic strength. My point is, the North should call themselves to other. They must address the issue of marginalization of other regions. They must unopposedly allow the South to produce the next president or face the consequences. God bless me. |
The burial of one of Nigerias televangelist has come and gone. T.B Joshua the senior pastor of the Synagogue church of all nation died on the 5th June in a very peaceful manner anyone would pray that God allows him to pass on. There is nothing like peaceful passage. No doubt his passage has left a deep hole, a very big wound in the heart of many especially the immediate family. May the Lord rest his soul. I have struggled since after his burial to put this piece together. Reason being that T.B Joshua was a man I knew from a distance. Many thing were said about him which i have no proof nor evidence to support and so would not join the gang of accusers and traducers. But I recall visiting Ikotun a certain time and I was opoortuned to passby his church. Apart from the magnificent and jaw dropping cathedral, I saw trailer loads of rice stacked and waiting for distribution. When I enquired I was told the stacked bags were for charity and that what I saw was a culture in Synagogue church under the leadership of late T.B Joshua ministry. Let me set the record straight especially for those who will think I am a paid writer. No I am neither a member late T.B Joshua church. However, I am a proud member of the body of Christ and of the IGBO stock. Better put I am a minister in one of the biggest Pentecostal churches in Lagos Nigeria. I took time to watch the burial programme of this man of God, and I was shocked to my bone marrow what I witnessed. Since after then i have been left thinking of this whole religion thing again and again. Many questions flooding my heart. For a big man of God like T.B Joshua, I had expected to grace an event that will proud of the presence of great men of God in this country. But to my greatest surprise, I couldnt find any. I was indeed disappointed. Honestly, my heart aches. I am deeply saddened and terrified by this show of shame and utter careless and irrespknsibilty exhibited in the body of Christ. What was T.B Joshua sin that even in death, men of God in this country could not at least show up at his burial? Let me say this again I was truly pained. For goodness sake where was Adeboye, Oyedepo, Kumuyi, Olukoya, Oyakhilome, Enenche, Mike Okonkwo, Catholic and Anglican bishops of Lagos ecetera? Were they on the mount praying for the peaceful repose of the soul of T.B Joshua or they had jetted out on field ministeration that none of them could be human enough to stand by the family of a fellow fallen soldier in time like this? As a member of the body of Christ myself, I have told people forget about what people say about the church. The body of Christ is a perfect and genuine religion. Don't be deceived about that. We only have divisions and funny pastors and members who make the whole body look like a child's play. Reason I have told people to know Jesus one on one for themselves. Only the truth you know can keep you in times of big surprises like this one. My whole being has terribly been shaken, I am only standing becausenof the truth I know which is Jesus Christ. What I witnessed in the course of T.B Joshua burial is indeed terrible. Whatever may be his offence, at a least he was a human first before becoming a man of God. At least he gathered soul for heaven, gave hope to many, preached the word and he also admonished many to strive to make heaven which are the basics of every message we all preach. What else matters? If T.B Joshua was bad as many have opined, couldnt we have left him to his God the perfect judge and at least honour his memory with our presence. For the fact that he preached the scriptures was that not enough to attract the sympathy of these mighty men of God. I also observed that many never sent a condolence message to the wife and children. What more could be callous and despicable. I am sure even Jesus would have attended during his early ministry. There are countless portions of the scripture where Jesus demonstrated forgiveness and at least showed a good example of what is expected of those who claim to follow him. Jesus ate with sinners, healed them and did all sort to the point he was accused of rolling with unbelievers. Yet he was not detered. Again I ask, what was Late T.B Joshuas offence that couldn't not be forgiven him even in death? The division in the body of Christ is satanic. I know Islam is no exception. Christians must learn to imbibe and follow the vitues of Jesus Christ. He was a friend to all both the rich, poor, sinners and the righteous and in fact he was more a friend to sinners. That alone endeared people to him. We can't be preaching what we find so had to practice that is called hypocricy. That men of God in this nation were missing in T.B Joshua burial leaves so much to desire. It is totally in bad taste, wrong and condemnable. Therefore, we must truly repent. If T.B Joshua burial can be treated with such disdain by men and women who ought to know and act better, what then is the hope of the common believer when he passes on? I am deeply heartbroken and I am left to wonder if it is heaven or hell. |
Sometime ago, a close friend queried me on why I don't believe in the present crop of Nigerian leaders. I then asked why he believed in them? He looked at me, smiled and went bizzare in his countenance like a confused soul. It was very clear he had thought he believed in them but reality done on him eventually and he observed that not only did he not believe in them but they have done actually nothing to attract anyones confidence. The crop of Nigerian politicians especially the ones of this generation are nothing but bunch of thieves, opportunists and hardened criminal. No wonder there are no innovations, no noticeable developments, we are only going in a circle as a nation. The little development you see around you, fact check, they are little efforts from the citizens. But of course what do you expect from criminals and clueless set of leaders. Do you know that there is hardly any Nigerian politician that does not have a criminal related case hanging on his or her neck in one Nigerian court or the other? Anyone without any court case only succeeded in bribing his way that is why such a person may seem free from criminal case especially to the public knowledge. What do you expect from politicians who sponsor crimes, they are fraudsters themselves, belong to all manner of cults, and can do anything for power, position and fame. But like i have opined severally in my previous pieces, I do not blame them. I blame the Nigerian electorate. Our electorate sell their vote on religious and ethnic lines. Many sell their votes for porridge of yam and they defile themselves. Promise them a cup of rice or 5k brown envelop and they will sell their birth right. No wonder the so called politicians try as much as they can to keep the people in poverty while denying them quality education. The two basic weapon of subjugation and enslavement is hunger and illiteracy and these are the tools these bunch of criminals in our corridor of power ave succeeded in using over the years. Today, many Nigerians are speaking and castigating the maniquine in Abuja. But the question is did you or did you not vote him? If you did, on what conviction did you vote him? That he will be the messiah I guess. That he will be better than only God knows. Honestly, Nigerians deserve what they get sometimes and I have no regret for saying that. In 21st century Nigerians are being deceived with electoral promises such as 'I will build flyover, give you bolewhole, free food and what have you'. The most annoying of all this is that even the very educated Nigerians are equally decieved in these lies and propaganda. But then of course, religion and ethnicity must be watch carefully if we must get it right going forward. Again, we must go above party affiliations and emotional sentiment. Rather, fact check the track records of those aspiring and canvassing for our votes. We must pay attention to debates to understand their level of intelligence, understanding of complex issues in a society like ours as well as their vision for the country. As citizens there is nothing wrong in putting forward our manifestoes to the politicians and say we demand so so and so else no vote for such candidate. The manifestoe can be legally binded so no party defaults. Until then, our political class are indeed rogues and hardened criminals and the voters even worst than the politicians. |
Are you a very careful observer of trends and events? If yes what do you see or perceive about Nigeria in the next couple of years? I forsee the South breaking away from Nigeria that is we are headed back to Southern and Northern Nigeria arrangement before that mad Lugard decided to bring both regions into this unholy union. How about that? Well, I do not think it is a bad idea. In fact I support it in its entirety. But let me again say, that it will be a great idea only if regional government is practiced, total rotational presidency, recource control and adherent to rule of law. |
Some months ago, before the selfstyled lord of the ring of Nigeria in Aso Rock took offence unbehalf of over 200million Nigerians and banned twitter. I had written very privately to MNK cautioning him about his choice of word and arrogancy in the pursuit of Biafran freedom. I warned him of my withdrawal from supporting him if he does not change his vocal ways of going about the Biafran matter. For example, I was privileged to watch some of his video clips wherein he boldly referred to Ibos who are worshipping under Yoruba pastors and churches as fools. He called them unprintable names. In a separate clip I also heard him abuse the US, UK, France and virtually every civilized nations on earth including the Igbo leaders for not coming through at the pace he wanted them to in the liberation of Biafrans from Nigeria. I made several points in my letter to him, I encouraged him to control his emotion before the mics and cameras, I encouraged him to keep certain things very discreet and not say it all as that in my opinion is not a very good attribute of a leader nor a freedom fighter. I reminded him that he has gotten the population and fame both local and international. Yes many followers to his credit therefore he doesn't need to always be the person speaking. I suggested he get a spokesman to reduce his frequent appearance before the cameras as most of the interviews had ulterior motives and could be platforms to keep him constantly exposed and all. Well, whether my many many advice were taken or not I can not tell, but I did my best in the little way I could. Let me say it as it is with me. I strongly believe in every region of this nation going their separate ways. Let's try something new and see how it works out. MNK quest for Biafra was not out of place, but only the manner in which he went about it. Anytime any day, I will stand up for the dissolution of this entity called Nigeria. That's my position. Let's face the truth, anyone calling for seperation now should not be blamed at all. Truly, are we really in a country? A country where nothing is working. A country where animals are more important than human beings. A country where you hardly make success if you choose to work in a sane manner. A country that support jaguda system. I don't know how many of us that have been out of the shores of this country before, you will understand why Nigeria is not a place to be proud about at least for now. Tell me, what is really working in this system to encourage my patriotism? The same politicians who preach patriotism to us have their wards scattered all over abroad. Many of the politicians are even dual citizens yet they preach patriotism to the gullible minds. What exactly is good about Nigeria? We have most horrible roads, health care system, education is zero, electricity is a gift from high heavens, constitution only works when you commit crime and depending on who your father is and the connection you have. Youths are roaming the streets jobless all we have in every strata is failed system upon failed system. Why should MNK and Igboho not rise up and demand for a seperate nation? Let's call a spade a spade, this marriage has long expired and the earlier we get the message the better for us. |
Okwyjesus:Need land in Owerri? Then call us now! |
The second leg of the Southern Nigeria governors meeting has ended today in Lagos. I must congratulate our governors for great deliberations. Above all for this unity that now exists between the governors of Southern Nigeria. Sequel to this meeting, I want to lend my voice to a number of issues by calling on the governors to ensure that all deliberations don't end on mere papers. These deliberations should match equal actions with immediate effect. Again, from the pictures I noticed some governors were represented by their deputies such as Imo, Edo, Abia, Ebonyi while I also think one or two governors were compeletly absent from the meeting. Well, for a serious meeting like this, no governor should be allowed to skip this meeting next time. In fact it should be prohibited that a deputy governor represents his boss except in very severe cases of sickness or something as very urgent as that. Reason being that, allowing some governors to be absent may weaken the other governors. The chances of delegating deputies will become the other of the day with time and before you know it this unity meeting will become a child's play and maybe stopped with time. Governors who have penchant for missing this all important meeting should be noted and treated as mole with time and if they don't change from their absenteeism. Let me call on Notherners to brace up for the big days ahead. The South are now together and nothing can be done about it by anyone. I see a time when election in Nigeria will only be decided by South and Middle belt that is working together and the core North will be left to beg for common minister for state. Truth is, on the one part I love Buhari government. One government that has opened the eyes of every Southerner. We now know better today because of Buhari. Only time will tell what we have learnt so far. The unity being fostered, built and nurtured by Southern governors should be prioritized by online warriors. Yorubas must stop fighting Igbos and Igbos must desist from such going forward. The truth is an Igbo share more things in common with a Yoruba vis a via comepare to a Yoruba and a Northerner or an Igbo and a Northerner. The time to unite is now! Well done Southern Governors. |
