Rick9: I think I can agree with what the OP is saying, because since I came back home from holiday on August 1st, I have never failed to use MTN night plan, which I used in downloading 720p HD Videos from YouTube, I noticed that when am downloading a Video and MTN send me a message telling me that I have exhausted my data, I noticed that the download doesn't get interrupted at all. And when the data is exhausted I noticed that am still able to browse the internet. So what the OP is saying is true. |
Politics › Re: Chaba Mark: My Apology To Goodluck Jonathan by Referendum50(f): 8:07pm On Oct 09, 2017 |
engineerboat: As Copied-Letter Of Apology From Chaba Mark.
MY APOLOGY TO GOODLUCK JONATHAN.
Is there anyone close enough to former president Goodluck Jonathan who may be reading this post? Please tell him that one unknown quantity is seeking for his forgiveness.
I am asking for his forgiveness for the reasons I've carefully itemized below.
1. On Chibok Girls: I was among those that lampooned him for being too slow to track down the abductors of the school children. I have to apologize to him because only recently, a serving minister threatened to implicate a governor on his role in the abduction saga. I told myself wait a minute, did I hear what I just heard? And I cast my mind back to when people said that the abduction was a stage managed plot to ease him out of power. I joined others then in calling such individuals, "conspiracy theorists" and "evil people". The story is getting clearer
Dear Jonathan, in my haste or ignorance then, I couldn't ask myself these simple questions:
* how about 270 human beings could be loaded into trucks and just vanish from a city center.
*how none of the school authority could place a single phone call to the head office of any security outfit to confirm who authorized the evacuation as they said the abductors claim.
* why the principal who ought to be sacked and prosecuted for gross negligence, was elevated to the position of a commissioner shortly after. Whether it wasn't a reward for a job well executed?
Dear Jonathan, even now,
* the army has overrun Sambisa forest where the girls were said to be kept and still no trace of them is found.
* surprisingly, they are being released from "somewhere" in batches! Thank God that there are no traces of forest marks on their sleek skins. We eagerly await batch two. Hopefully, APC will secure the release of the last batch before 2019 as one major achievement for it to be voted again into power.
2. On Corruption:
Dear Jonathan, I join others to insult your government because I thought then that the people in your government were thieves. Little did I know that compared to what we see today, they were mere pickpockets. Under the watch of our current anti corruption Messiah,
* government officials use hundreds of millions of naira of IDP funds to cut grasses in the sandy sahel region.
* billions of naira and millions of dollars, raw cash, are dug out of a house in a highbrow area of Lagos. The owner of the money is unknown and the said house lacks owner and C/o.
* $25 billion contracts are currently said to be wrongfully awarded by NNPC GMD to phoney companies.
Dear Jonathan, Your former NSA, Dansuki has been held incommunicado for $2 billion. Your man's money is 2% of their man's. Even if Desiani's and other monies allegedly stolen by all those who served under your government are put together, they will not amount to 40% of what one man is currently alleged to have fingered.
In light of the above, dear Jonathan, find it in your heart to forgive me. I allowed myself to be deceived by smooth talkers and propagandists. People who hid under a hypnotic change mantra to deceive the minds of the simple. They promised to fix electric power in six months, build new refineries, pay monthly salaries to jobless graduates, feed school pupils and stamp out corruption. Who wouldn't fall for these lofty things?
But alas, since they shoved you aside, things have gotten worse in every front. Their first act was to jack fuel price up from N85 to N145. Something you tried and we gave you headache through our "occupy Nigeria" protests. We can't dare raise a single voice now. Next their ill advised economic policies caused prices of commodities to triple. They called it recession and blamed it on you.
No light, no road, no food, no security from attacks of herdsmen. The only means we use to cry out, social media, they want to shut it by draconian laws.
If we agitate, they unleash trained pythons and crocodiles on us.
There is God.
Jonathan, I am truly sorry.

APC leaders can’t convince Nigerians they’re fighting corruption, should be removed – Sagay
ON OCTOBER 9, 20177:00 AMIN NEWSCOMMENTS By Gbenga Oke
THE leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC will find it difficult to convince Nigerians that it is fighting corruption and should be removed given the fact that the party’s officials are promoters of corruption, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Anti-Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay, has said.
Sagay spoke on a Channels Television programme last night even as he praised the appointment of Justice Ayo Salami as chairman of the committee to monitor the corruption cases in courts.
Prof. Itse Sagay Sagay who has recently had brushes with the APC leadership and the National Assembly over his criticisms of the officials of the two bodies, however, stepped back from mentioning names yesterday.
But asked by the programme anchor on the faceoff with the APC leadership, he said:
“If you have a big party which has a specific mandate to fight corruption or at least reduce it drastically to a level that it will not stop the nations development, then the members of such party must be seen also fighting corruption”.
“If you have such mandate as a party and you have people in that party who are actively promoting corruption or they are subject of corruption and promoters of corruption, what they are doing is denying the party (the opportunity) of truly fighting corruption, then it is better to totally remove people of that nature from the party and form a smaller party in which everybody would have confidence in themselves rather than have a big party in which people are doing things contrary to what the party stands for” he stated.
He said further, “My view is that the party hierarchy and party leadership and not the government, the party are condoning corruption and they are hobnobbing with those corrupt party members and therefore setting a stage for the government to have serious problem when there is need to convince that is entitled to have another term in government.” |

METROTwo Fulani herdsmen arrested for allegedly raping 14-year-old girl Published on October 9, 2017 By Chijioke Jannah
Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Nassarawa, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, Umar and Musa had been apprehended following a complaint by Esther’s parents.
Narrating her ordeal in an interview with journalists in Lafia, Esther stated that she was with four others when the incident happened.
She said she and the others had earlier ignored the boys when they approached them, but the duo subsequently ambushed them at a lonely and secluded part of the road where they threatened her with a knife and cutlass.
Esther said: “On our way down from the hills when we passed by the settlement of the Fulani, we saw the Fulani people and my brother’s wife greeted them but they did not respond.
“As we were going, I stopped to strap my niece properly on my back and I saw the Fulani boys. My brother’s wife asked why they were running after us and one of them said all they wanted was sex and that if we refused they would kill us.
“I was crying and pleading and my brother’s wife was also pleading with them. She even removed her clothes saying that she was sick and that she was on her way to the hospital.
“They said they were not interested in her, that they wanted me and they must have sex with me. I refused to have sex with them, but after they threatened me with a knife and machete, I had to succumb. The first one raped me by the roadside, while the second one carried me to the bush and also raped me,” Esther narrated. |

Referendum50: House summons: We’ll use mechanism of law to get you, Reps tell Magu, NNPC, others
ON OCTOBER 9, 20177:07 AMIN NEWSCOMMENTS ABUJA — APPARENTLY disturbed by the deliberate refusal of acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu and other agencies of government to obey summons, the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions, yesterday, vowed to apply the mechanism of the law to make them appear.
Dr Maikati Baru, Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu Other agencies accused of flouting summons include the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, and Petroleum Product Prices Regulatory Agency, PPPRA.
Chairman of the committee, Uzoma Nkem-Aboonta, PDP, Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency, of Abia State, who spoke to journalists on the issue weekend, said: “Honestly, we are not having any issues or witch hunting neither are we trying to prosecute or frustrate the operations of the EFCC; in fact, we want to do everything to encourage them to continue the war against corruption.
“What we are trying to do is to call them because there are petitions before the House and referred to the committee on public petitions to make fact findings but severally we have invited the EFCC to come and tell us their own side of the story.
“We have sent them more than seven invitations on various issues but they have deliberately failed to turn up for such invitation.
“We have acknowledgement copies of all our letters and summons to them to come and give us their own side of the story so we can draw a line and advise the House accordingly.
“The non appearance of the EFCC is inhibiting our investigation in the allegations of high handedness and harassment; we can’t stop them from doing their work but we must ensure that in doing their work, they comply with the rules of engagement and laid down procedures.”
“Those deeply involved are the NNPC, PPPRA and DPR and this attitude has led to many inconclusive investigative hearings.
‘’Their non appearance has made the House resolve to seek other lawful means to bring them before the public petitions committee, because nobody is above the law, not even the Parliament and a creation of parliament cannot also be above the law.’’
Abonta said aside from the EFCC, such agencies as NNPC, DPR, accused of corrupt practices, had deliberately refused to respond to the summons issued them to give their own side of allegations against them.
“We are bothered and worried, but we are not surprised at the leaked letter of the minister of state for petroleum resources to the president on the NNPC boss, some of these things are subjects of petitions which the NNPC have refused to come to answer to.
“Their absence inhibits our work, it delays our work and makes it inconclusive, otherwise we will have to conclude with that of the petitions alone and that is not good as it is against natural justice, so that is why we will use the mechanism of the law to bring them,’’ he said.
