ok noted , I will check , but I wasn't sent the form , when I filled the form , it stated submitted and I was given given a form no starting with 90.... And I was able to download the form and save it But I thought they will send the form to the emailed used with appointment date, thanks

The embassy should have sent you a confirmation mail titled "e-Konsulat, potwierdzenie rejestracji".
Check your spam folder to confirm properly.
If there is nothing there, still, go on the date and time stated on the printout you downloaded after booking online.

There is a form field for National identity number.
There is also a field for travel document number which is for passport.

I see no reason why NIN number at "National identity number" field will cause any issues.

Yes, you can book visa before legalization. No penalty.

Also, the embassy confirmed to someone on twitter that they can legalize their document on visa appointment day.
You may as well try.

If the person doesn't complete their application before the 1 hour timeframe elapses, the date will be recycled and made available.

Open a Euro domiciliary account and request refund to it.
Don't request refund with TransferWise bank info because you will face difficulties in transferring your money back to Nigeria. TW doesn't support transfers to Nigeria.
