PoliticsRe: Fashola Got Tongue Lashed For Saying*lagos Won't Vote For GEJ* by Remarkable: 8:47pm On Feb 27, 2015
Oildichotomy:
Lagosians are divided on this issue -- He can't speak for Lagosians solely because he is the governor.

The ethnocentric Lagosians will vote Buhari not because they think Buhari will do any better but because they think GEJ is the reason for their frustration and voting against him will automatically erode the frustration.

An equal chunk will vote GEJ not because they think GEJ has "taken them to the moon" but because of the lack of a better alternative and I believe I relate with this line of reasoning than the former
There are lots of us that have the same stance... we feel that we have 2 options that are not at, talkless of surpassing our expectations in terms of a good leader that has his record to do the talking for him.

The educated populous that has put two and two together to compare both options, know who the better candidate is... but a lot of them have so much going on personally lol making them come up with what they believe is the patriotic thing to do. it makes me laugh. heheh.

Do you know others that decided whom to vote for? and given you reasonable reasons why?

how many of them are Nigerians or have PVCs (like the ones recently arrested in Osun)?

how many of them are saying it but won't back it up with action.
PoliticsRe: The Yorubas Must Not Vote For Jonathan! by Remarkable: 9:59am On Feb 27, 2015
jobinto:
When I visited Ibadan, there’s a Yoruba lamentation that I found quite amusing. It’s usually a retort to a victimization of some description that they can’t explain: ki ni mo se fun yin? In the Nigerian parlance, it translates to “wetin I do for you?” In case there are non-Nigerians reading this, it means “what have I done to deserve this persecution?” Chief Kola Aderemi wrote in The Nation of December 23 that President Jonathan must have something against the Yoruba to allow for such sustained ill-treatment. “Nothing illustrates President Jonathan’s hatred for Yoruba,” he said, “better than the way he removed some Yoruba people from key positions on allegation of being too close to the former President Olusegun Obasanjo. To buttress my point, I recalled how he removed Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary. Mr. Yomi Bolarinwa was removed as DG of Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, Otunba Segun Runsewe was removed as DG of Nigerian Tourism Development Commission (NTDC) and they were replaced with Igbo people.” Here is a selection of other Yoruba people that Jonathan sacked: Mr. Olu Oluleye, Executive Secretary, the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) was sacked by Jonathan. CEO of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Dr. Samuel Oduselu was also sacked. Stella Oduah, sacked eight general managers at the FAAN in 2014, six of whom were Yoruba. The same minister employed 75 workers, 40 of whom were from the Southeast, her geo-political zone. The minister sacked the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Captain Adebayo Araba and replaced him with Captain Chinyere Kalu from the Southeast. The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mrs. Ola Onagoruwa, was sacked for “undisclosed reasons”. In fact, immediately after Yar’adua died, Jonathan went on Yoruba sacking spree. The result being, other than appointment that are constitutionally required, Yorubas are nowhere in his government. The Yorubas moved from the number one (position of President Obasanjo) to number 22. I’m not exactly sure how this reckoning was done, but it serves my purposes to use it. Whatever Jonathan has been told however, Yorubas don’t deserve this neglect. Many of them voted for him in 2011, but he’s got this weird conviction that those who voted him in the Southwest and the North are the Igbos resident in those areas. I sometimes do my morning jog with a Yoruba woman, a Muslim, who told me that in 2011 she voted Jonathan because she thought that was justice – because Niger Delta produces a chunk of the government income; however, she wouldn’t repeat that mistake again not because Jonathan dislikes the Yoruba people, but because the guy is useless to everybody, including the long suffering people of the Niger Delta. My own friend for many years, also a Yoruba Muslim, gave me the same reason for supporting Jonathan in 2011. I keep getting this “sense of justice” reason from the Yoruba people that I’m beginning to think that must something embedded in their culture. During our time in the diaspora, I had many Nigerian friends. The most religious of us and one of my closest neighbours is a Yoruba Muslim. Obviously, from the stories he told, his old father in Nigeria was also religious; in 2011, however, he told us his father was preparing to vote for Goodluck Jonathan. Make of that what you will but, the northern Yoruba and their southern brethren – Muslim and Christian – supported the president four years ago. It’s the reason why the Yoruba people shouldn’t let this betrayal go unpunished. The fortunate thing for Nigerians and particularly my party, is that many of them have long resolved to do this. That sense of justice will be used to shoot down Jonathan this month. You are an intelligent set of people. Do us all a favour, I call upon you in supplication, don’t vote Jonathan. As of this moment, the only Yoruba group which supports Jonathan is Afenifere. However, even Afenifere is divided. Afenifere Renewal Organization, ARG, said they didn’t support the endorsement of Jonathan enacted by Yinka Odumankin’s group. So the authentic Afenifere doesn’t support the president. The Oodua organization based in the US also distanced itself from the self-serving endorsement of Odumankin’s group. Civil rights activist, Moshood Erubami, summed it up: “No real Yoruba man or woman who supports a pan-Yoruba political and developmental agenda will vote for Jonathan in the coming election, because the Southwest has not gained anything from his administration. So let’s have a bloc vote from this intelligent and enterprising race. Jonathan shouldn’t continue, Yorubas must not allow him!
I was hoping that the advent of the internet, and thus, more education or enligtment, more of us will begin to see government's role and performance or accomplishments for "us" to be more than political appointments. So pardon me if I say that I am disappointed you based your assessment of the president on how many Yorubas in his cabinet. Let me ask you this, are you saying you would prefer a stranger from another village in your state, to be given a political appointment rather than a major highway in the SW being constructed/renovated?

What is instructive though to note is: his fellow APC goons from the SW as himself can easily do the same thing, from Gbawe to Berom, Omenka, OAM4j and the likes: that is, they are purposely blinded to the success of GEJ all around them, and with their sight, they gaze, and even blow up Nigeria's problems as GEJ's; they plug their nostrils to the fresh air and tell you that "Yeye dey smell"; you get my drift? (I could say similar for other senses lol)... but their senses have been selectively turned off to anything that puts GEJ in a good image, and so you often hear them say GEJ has done "nothing"...

So what you see this OP has done, even though lots of us kept repeating to all who cared to listen that this dude was a fake, (especially how from the get go he claimed to be from the SS whereas he is Orlando Owoh from the SW); and got tired of sounding that alarm but debunked his useless wikkepdia & google posts, is a pointer to what many of these praise-singers o/feel (their stomach first, disguising it with patriotism) and is also another pointer for you all that were strung along, to find out things for yourselves. Do not depend on what a googler comes and dumps on a thread here... I understand lack of free/cheap internet might be a factor against information research, but always be hesitant or wait to confirm from different sources before "buying" anything PDP or APC fans on NL tell you (even in real life too... sorry that you got deceived; I apologize on his behalf as I feel disgusted myself that a "man" that can not stand by his words and does it so abashedly as this guy has? is not a man at all, his you-know-what should be "taken" from him).
PoliticsRe: The Gospel Of Change According To "Saint" APC by Remarkable: 10:24am On Feb 18, 2015
barcanista:
1. FEDERAL LEVEL:
According to "Saint" APC, change is when those men that were prominent in federal leadership between 1999-2007 turn their back on the PDP and pledge loyalty to them. All major players as at then are now "change agents" except the Senate Presidents.
President 1999-2007- Obasanjo (the navigator)
Vice President(1999-2007)- Atiku Abubakar the "defender" of democracy and APC Chieftain.
Speaker of House of Reps (2003-2007)- Bello Mansari(APC Gov Candidate in Katsina)
Only the Senate Presidents between those times are in PDP.

Perhaps, APC Atiku will tell PDP Jonathan that "PDP has been ruling for 15years)

2. Progress is When You swap your PDP Card For APC even after being a major flop as a office holder.
Let's see...
Bukola Saraki has been a governor for 8 years in Kwara state, now a Senator, yet the Kwarans are living in misery while he is living in plenty. He swapped party, he is now a progress whether an average Kwaran likes it or not. His stooge Gov Ahmed is also a "progress" because his loyalty to oga is more important than to Kwara.
The same people that said "PDP has failed in Kwara" as at 2011 are the same people dancing progressive is in Kwara in 2013-2015.

3. Change Is When You Kill the FOI:
The "navigator" Obasanjo had refused to sign the FOI when the NASS sent it to him in March 2007.
The "wonder" Governor Fashola refused to honor request by SERAP by disclosing how he spent money meant for education for 5 years. His response was "Lagos Is not bound by FOI"
SERAP took Lagos to Court in Jan 2014... http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/01/foi-lagos-gov-court-spending-education-lagos/
Though the Court ruled that FOI does not need to be domesticated in states, it also ruled no state is obligated to it because it was passed by NASS. The question is what are they hiding? APC states Lagos, Imo and Rivers have been refusing requests.
N/B: SERAP is one among many that had written to the LASG concerning information.
Jonathan signed it into law in 2011. Governments of developed nations all over the world practice it http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_information_laws_by_country
But our "change agents" would rather not.
Question: how can we check fraud without FOI in place?

3. Change Is When You Relegate Your loyal Associates To Satisfy "angry" PDP Govs:
Let's see...
Buba Marwa has been in Adamawa CPC since 2011, he contested against PDP Nyako twice and followed through to the merger.
Ibrahim Shekarau has been in Kano ANPP since 2003 where he rose to be Governor for 8years. He was a key member of the merger process.
Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto State has always been an opposition since 1998. He was ANPP governor for 8years and then he formed DPP before moving to ACN. He was part of the merger.
Alhaji Muhammed Balgore of Kwara State has been with AC since I have known. He contested for Gov against Saraki in 2007 and Ahmed in 2011. He was part of the merger.

All the aforementioned people were dumped by the party after the merger with party structure handed over to the Cross-over PDP Govs.
Kwankwaso took Kano, Nyako took Adamawa, Wamakko took Sokoto, Saraki/Ahmed took Kwara. The now exLeaders were relegated because they "have no money". They all moved to PDP.
That is the #Change! Not forgeting Akpan Udoedehe treatment.

4. Change Is When You Have 2 Fmr PDP National Chairmen Leading Your Rank:
Chief Audu Ogbeh and Barnabas Germade were PDP Chairmen under Segun Obasanjo/Atiku Abubakar administration. Today, all these men are shouting #Change when they were in government between 1999-2007. The case of Germade is worse. He was elected PDP Senator in 2011 but fell out with Suswam for the PDP ticket for 2015. He moved to APC and within 24hrs he was given the ticket. Halelluyah he's now a #Change agent.

5. It is Progressive For Okorocha To Move from PDP to AA to ANPP to PDP to APGA and to APC, but it is unpatriotic and lack of ideology for barcanista to switch support from GEJ to APC and Back to GEJ after seeing the hypocrisy, despite the fact that he was Never a card carring member.
It is okay for Amaechi to move from PDP that he was elected for 15years to APC, but it becomes treachery and foolish for Nuhu Ribadu to move to PDP that gave him a platform as a policeman.

6. Change is when Opeyemi Bamidele is tagged a traitor because he demanded that there should be primaries and he exercise his right to aspire to rule Ekiti. On the flip side, it is democratic for the jagaban to determine who get what in APC.

Fellow Nigerians, Buhari is a decent man though not perfect but the men he's with are "change" agents. We don't need such kind of retrogressive change.

Add yours...
TUA! You are despicable!!! I almost threw up and not even sure I got halfway through your write-up.

Yorubas, shey una see una selves? Your chameleonic-double-speaking-triple-tongued-fellow tribesman?

I never took you serious as I knew you as an imposter, and you knew that I knew you to be an imposter, and I knew that you knew that I know you as a phony bird-brain that can never be trusted to have an atom of honesty or truth in his life.

The only reason I am spitting on you is basically your lack of shame - to be found out, and yet still come back on this same handle to wear a whole different face and have the guts to talk back at those calling you out as the blatant liar that you are.

Shame on you, shameless man.

APC (ACN) has done well in Lagos, particularly under fashola. They have a structure in place that is working. It is far from perfect. They have many faults but Lagos is among the top 3 best governed state in Nigeria.

A PDP government comes with uncertainties, Bode George, Ogunlewe and Obanikoro. The wrong characters surround Agbaje.
What do you make of Fashola's kick against the FOI bill? and more importantly, low-cost housing? it was a bit shocking when he said ther is no "low cost" cement (to build houses for the lower income branch of our society (like civil servants or so).

The lekki toll gate and other's can be debateble in terms of pros and cons. but the two things mentioned above... quite baffling and heaven forbit such a man governs my state that way.there's an impression that he caters only for the rich... What Jonathan ought to have done, would be to go to Adamawa were he claims the military campaign against boko haram is claimed to be succeeding. Sit down on the fields in a tent with as many soldiers as can manage and spend sometime.

Jonathan only looks for easy kills, he always fails to depict this masculine persona presidents around the world strive for.

You know how ethnocentric Nigeria is; while I don't want to make an excuse for Jonathan... do you know how the Niger-delta militancy was stopped, after the Nigerian army fought them for more than 5 years? The politicians from those communities went to meet face-to-face with these militants on behalf of the federal government, and of course, the rest of us all... they dialogued with them etc... and all the fighters dropped their weapons.

Now imagine if Buhari, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Atiku etc, did not volunteer to meet with and talk to these guys (Boko Harem)? if they really love this country, love their people as much as they want us to believe... it bugs me mind and that of any rational person, why a man that was anti-press, human rights violaor, and a terminator of a democratic government, is being sold to us as "change" almost 30 years later.

Thoughts? Please? (especially on Buhari and SLS going to meet with BK).

But where we have a prolem and think it stinks! is whwen instead of fighting, you choose not to face us men, and start attacking children, women, pregnant mothers, disabled or handicap persons, and as you said, chickens and lizards.

When real men fight, they face the opponent, before going for defenceless civilians. There are laws about refugees and even POWs (prisoners of war) ... it just seems that the Igbos, maybe it is because they are Christians, majorly, seek to abide by these laws, but they should learn from the Israelites and stop taking nonsense from you all... and this Buhari's obsession with his frog-eyed enabler, might just be it...

anyways, back to you seeking for a fight - I put it to you, dear Aboki: that any day you guys want to weige war against the Igbos (in this 21st century)? it will be a day never to be forgotten. That is a promise.

You make it sound like you guys were fighting like men...

we were to square off and fight like men, but like sissies and chickens, even with weapons that armed you all to the teeth... the Biafran soldiers taught you guys a lesson, not once, twice or thrice... before you threw in the towel by choosing to break the regulations governing warfare... you killed no merceneries, stop lieing, you were killing defenceless armless civilians, kids, women, even emptying your bullets when the wind blew on grass lol that's how scared you all were. shame oon you, weaklings that want to fight and kill women.

Kai! You want Hausas to come and kill Igbos for taunting Yorubas?

You know, some of your brothers come on here and do gragra... to give the false impression that you guys are strong and etc... even though the truth and real situation is obvious....

this your post doesn't help... its not only a display of acute cowardice, it accentuates the master-slave relationship between the conquerers and those they conquered...nah wah o...

Loads of shiit. Nigeria will continue to exist and the Igbos will take their place. You should pray that the APC succeeds or because if they don't, the yorubas will forever be remain in opposition wink grin grin grin

Coward, what are you waiting for to declare your odua republichuh
If I remember correctly (I am getting along in age lol) she had once said she wishes Igbos will pull out and declare Biafra again, so that Nigeria will break up; and that this time, they/SW will be in support of the secession, so they can also be able to break away to form Oduduwa as well.

It seems to me that the reason they just can't let the Igbos be is that their confidence in themselves is low. They feel any action they take has to somehow be connected to the Igbos.

This could be due to generational purchases of land, especially in Lagos, for money - so much so that their prosperity or owambe money was literally in the hands of Igbos (buying land from them).

This is now affecting everything they do, it seems...
