Family › Re: My Marriage Has Finally Ended by remonics: 4:18pm On Jan 07, 2018 |
kunleajaye: Hello peeps. It's with a heavy heart that I have to say that my marriage is on it's last legs(or so I think). Sometimes last year I made a post asking for advice and things actually got a bit better afterwards (https://www.nairaland.com/3415462/dont-feel-attracted-wife-anymore), but alas, it didn't last.
My wife returned to her cold self and it just went downhill from there. We started arguing again over the tiniest of reasons. Some of the reasons for our petty arguements was the issue of her engrossing herself in school activities that sometimes took her attention from home duties. I told her a couple of times that i wasn't against her doing things like what she did and wasn't in the way of her achieving her desires and goals, but she shouldn't forget she's a mother and wife and one of her primary duties is her family. Sometimes she'd spend so much time in one fruitless meeting or the other, and when she gets home, she'll be too tired to do anything. It got to a point I had to do alot of cooking for the house so that the kids won't be hungry. It's not that she didn't do her duties. It's just the inconvenience of it all and the way her outside activities affected us that really got to me.
Another thing that got on my nerves was her attitude to her degree. Agreed, with all the things she did, she still maintained a very good GPA and was one of the best students in her department. Her lecturers would at times request she take their classes for them while they attended to other pressing issues. It was a good thing and i felt proud, but in her mind the main thing she wanted to do was business. Buying and selling like she did when we first got here and before she started school. She wanted to set up a store where she'd import and sell african prints. There were days during the summer when I'd plan on doing Uber to supplement the little I brought in as a paycheck, only for her to tell me she'd registered for one event or another to display her wares. I'll just have to stay back at home with the kids till she returned later in the night. It really did get me upset and I once asked her what the point of the degree she had studied for if all she wanted to do was sit in a store and sell stuff? We had this argument several times on end.
What eventually broke the camel's back was something she said that I'll never forgive her for. One evening, after putting the kids to bed, she approached me and said she wanted to apply for a loan. I asked her what she needed the loan for. She said for her shop. How much does she need? Ten thousand dollars. How does she expect to apply for ten thousand dollars when we have no way of paying back? Besides, where does she expect me to get the collateral from? She said someone would stand in for her. I told her I don't support the idea and she should be patient. At least after her graduation, she would be able to work full time and earn a better pay which she could then channel to doing whatever she wanted. She said no. She doesn't want to work, but sell her stuff. We started bickering back and forth about this cos I was already fed up of the whole issue, and at some point she screamed, saying I do not support her as a husband, and maybe she would have been better off marrying Awwal.
*** Awwal was another guy who fancied her when we met during our youth service in camp; she had once told me that back then she loved him as much as she loved me, and if she had to choose, she would have picked him instead of me. I asked her why she then chose me, and she said her late mother had advised her "don't make a future husband into an ordinary boyfriend, and don't make an ordinary boyfriend into a husband." In other words, don't confuse lust for love. ***
She realized what she said and immediately began to apologize. I don't know how I kept my cool, and I walked away quietly. It only got worse after then. We no longer talked liked we once did apart from the necessary exchanges. I let her do whatever pleased her. Our arguements continued and sometimes we wont speak for days. I started keeping late nights, staying more in the lab after school or sometimes driving to a bar to drown my sorrows. I tried getting a marriage counselor, but the damage had already been done. Our sex life became virtually non-existent. We just remained together because of the kids.
A man has needs, and if he wasn't getting them at home, he'd start looking outside. I'm not proud to say this, but during some of my late nights out, I'd visit a discrete gentleman's club. It was on one of these outings I met one of the girls who danced there. She was a young college kid in her junior year. Over the next week or so she gave me a listening ear and I poured my heart out to her. She invited me over to her place one evening (she shared a three bedroom house with two other girls), one thing led to another and she was giving me a full n@ked massage with her body. We didn't have penetrative sex, but she gave me the sexual release my wife had denied me for such a long time. I offered to pay for her services afterwards, but she told me not to, as it was just her way of showing she cared. We ended up making similar arrangements a few more times, and each time we took it a bit further. The furthest we went was the time we had a 69 on her bed, and she came all over my face while I splooged her mouth. I always had to wipe myself off properly and take a shower once I got home to rid of all the oil and smell of pheromones on my person.
I guess my wife suspected something was going on cos she asked me one day if i had been seeing anyone. I asked her why she asked, and she shrugged, murmuring something to the fact that it was unusual of me not to have disturbed her for sex in such a very long time. I told her since she had decided to control when and the frequency we had sex, I had accepted my plight. I told her if she wanted sex, she knew where to find me. That night, I woke up to her snuggling up to me. It was the first time in a long while she would come to me. Try as much as I could, I just couldn't achieve an erection. My time with the stripper girl had taken away the sexual affection I had for my wife. She noticed this and started crying, saying i don't love her anymore. I simply told her it was just the stress. The following day, she was back to her normal self.
Last month, she finally graduated. I was happy that at least she would get a place to work and earn some money. But what she told me a few days later came as a shocker. She told me she wanted to go back to Nigeria. Her plan was to fulfill her dream of setting up a clothings line and since i don't want to support her, she'd rather go on without my support. I asked her if she was joking, but i could see she was dead serious. I asked who would take care of the kids if she leaves, and she said she intends going with them. infact, she had already told her sister to start looking for a nice school for them at home. I just couldn't believe it. Why make that kinda decision without consulting me first? She just told me her mind was made up. I tried changing her mind, but she remained adamant. Unknown to me, she had already booked their flight back home a long time ago. I had to call my parents to talk some sense into her, but afterwards they just told me to let her come home, that she may just need the change of environment for a while. I called and asked her sister why she didn't tell me about the plan knowing how close we were, but she simply said it was her sister's decision.
They left two days after Christmas. To date I'm yet to receive a call from her. I've sent her several emails but she hasn't responded to even one. She told my mum she hasn't had the chance to get a line yet, but I know that's a lie. It doesn't take you more than a week to get a phone and a line in Nigeria. Sadly, I may have to accept the conclusion that my marriage is over. you pushed her out oga! my opinion though. you shouldnt have rushed to the arms of the call girl. |
Christianity Etc › Re: G.O Adeboye : A Huge Stain On Modern Christianity In Nigeria by remonics: 1:46pm On Oct 03, 2017 |
Mrchippychappy: Normally I wouldn't create a thread such as this because of the possibility of atheists and other unscrupulous characters hijacking this thread to promote their agenda, however at some point I believe the truth MUST be brought to light.
I read through G.O Adeboye Sunday speech here (excerpts quoted below) and I was terribly shocked to read what a so called revered Man of God (or as some would say these days, god of Men)shamelessly said to his church members from the pulpit on Sunday. This god of men went against ALL what the bible talks about in regards to the qualities of a TRUE Man of God. All through the bible, it is written that as Christians we should :
1. NEVER make a show of our righteousness.
Matthew 6:1 When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven.
When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward.
When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it.[a] 4 Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret, and he will reward you.
2. NEVER mock or rejoice over the unfortunate events that has befallen others, be them your enemies or friends. Proverbs 24:17 - Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles.
Proverbs 17:5 - Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
Proverb 19: 29 - Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
Ephesians 5:4 ESV - Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
So you could imagine how shocked I was when I read that a Christian, let alone a so called man of God could make fun of the unfortunate events that befell his fellow country men in the past. Below are some excerpts from the filth that this so called man of God recklessly spewed on his Sunday service
Does this sound like what a responsible man of God would preach to his members on a service day? if truly he adopted someone then it would be said he did it out of his good will and if that truly is the case, then what did the bible say about good deeds? see Matthew 6:1 -3 .
Does the man of God really have to make fun of the adopted girl's traumatic situation? Does the Man of God have to be so insensitive to the unfortunate event of starvation that led to the death of 3 million people during the Civil war? Has he truly not read the bible verses
Proverbs 24:17 , Proverbs 17:5 , Proverb 19: 29
Did he not read the part in the Bible when the starvation was so severe that people ate their own children? Does he not know about the fate of the Edomites and Amorites when they refused to help their starving Israeli brethren?
All these are sensitive issues and if no one in the bible thought it necessary to mock the people who went through such then how can a so called G.O say such things from the most holy place in the Church, which is the pulpit?
Also, does the man of God really need to use a trumpet to sing his own praise? does he really need to talk about the unfortunate events of others in such a demeaning manner? Aren't there other ways to speak in favour of peace and unity without the subtle mockery (a very poor subtlety if I may add ).
I would conclude with the following verses:
Matthew 24:24 NIV - For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 7:15-20 NIV -15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
John 14:15 New King James Version - “If you love Me, keep[a] My commandments.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/t8zZWvvaEaY/hqdefault.jpg op your accusations are baseless. remember the GO is an African, such reminisce is needed in order to avert disaster. it has nothing to do with being a christian. there is an african adage that says "when a child falls,he looks forward, but when an adult falls, he looks back" |

amicable09: Hi OP, I understand your plight perfectly well and I wish to sympathize with you based on what you or others may be going through at this time.
Contract staffing is very much recognized and advised in banking and it is supported by Central Bank. It's not a practice that started today though, it's an age old practice. In every banking hall, there MUST be a certain number of people who are to be employed as contract staff and another fraction who must be core staff and the roles these different sets of people play is well defined by the regulatory body.
Whether good or bad, depends on the organization where you find yourself. I don't want to talk about how they are treated or how they are disengaged, I however want to talk about what I've observed in some.
You know about age requirement in banking and you know that CBN has an approved age a staff can be at a level. For instance, I see some 30 year olds as Executive Trainees in a bank either as a core staff or as a contract staff, I find this totally worrisome! And it's not like it isn't obvious to these people, they think it's okay to be at that level at that age and make excuses for their banks saying "promotion window has been shut for sometime now". If the window is shut, did they also shut the doors? CBN frowns at having bankers who are trying to make the profession look like a joke. In fact, right now, at a certain level in banking if you are not a member of CIBN you are only cheating yourself.
Again, most contract staff are OND and HND holders, some join banking between the ages of 26 & 28, they start earning and forget about upgrading and the ones who remember to upgrade academically, start at age 30 - 35. The question I'm tempted to ask is, does the person want to be a GM at 70?
How about those who have first degree and fall within the right age bracket, you may want to know. I say to those ones, port! The maximum anyone should spend in a position in banking is 3 years. If you find yourself stagnant where you are, develop yourself and move. Look around you, ask most senior management staff who have over 10 years industry experience about their career and at least 80% of them will tell you they've worked in at least 3-5 banks before they got to where they now are. Be wise too, help yourself. Your career is in your hands.
A lot of contract staff make this mistake until they become unemployable and the system is forced to remove and replace them. I can say it isn't fair but they many times put themselves in the position to be exploited.
I know a handful of guys who from contract staff got converted to professional staff. I've heard of many others who sadly, were asked to leave. Don't let it get to you, like someone told me recently, 'if you know what you're doing in banking, when you leave banking, you should know where the money is in the economy'.
In other words, you've been exposed to businesses and business owners, you should be able to tell your next direction of focus after you've shaken off the 'cruelty' of a system you were loyal to.
Now that you're here, what next? Soldier come, Soldier go, barrack remain.
Wish First bank well and leave. After five years, if you channel your energy right, they'll come market you . hmmmm, the opinion of an elderly man, full of experience. God bless you. |

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra state on Friday, commissioned Lynden Farms, a poultry farm located on a 75 hectare piece of land in Igbariam. This is one of the first agricultural projects facilitated by the Anambra State Investment Promotion & Protection Agency.
The poultry has the capacity to produce 350,000 birds every 6 weeks and 30,000 eggs a week. ANSG contributed land to this partnership in exchange for equity in the project while funds were provided by a consortium of investors from Anambra led by Chief Clem Nwogbo.
In 2 years, the target is to achieve self sufficiency in poultry production thereby reducing the state's dependence on Oyo State for eggs and frozen chicken.

So I went through his write up,and to be fair to him. Some of the issues and points he raised are valid ones, but there are ways he could have sent his ideas and working policies to the Presidency, but what did he do?he went to the Public to post,so as to make a mockery of this Government.
