Career / Re: It Is A Fallacy That No Knowledge Is a Wasted one by RentedReality(m): 11:05am On Oct 07, 2014
-----------------------------------------------
For example, I don't see how the knowledge of how to prepare a cake or sew clothes would have a significant bearing on my life if I were a lawyer. This is truer given that I may never get the time to come and be sewing clothes or making cakes for either myself or family.
Even if I would get to use them in future, wouldn't it be once in a blue moon as in Ben Carson's case.

Imagine this scenario: your client who's a tailor commits a crime in his shop and in order to defend him based on a technicality, wouldn't it be useful if you had working knowledge of what he does?

Even if it happens once in a blue moon, the fact is it served its purpose and so therefore was not wasted.

I disagree with your logic, you might have to rethink this.

obongproff: D fact dat a lady is working doesnt mean she has 'independence' mentality. Some ladies are working but dia greed makes dem to be dependent on oda men too.

Hav u not heard dat some married women dat are working and earning good money still pressure dia husbands for money and day contribute little to d home? One begins to wonda wot day do with dia salary.

I had a date with two different working class ladies, one of dem paid for my drinks plus hers and refused to take tp from me. D oda one, well I paid for our drinks and she even wanted more chicken, at d end she asked me to hire a cab to take her home cos she was tired. And she earns good money.

My point is, not all women dat are working actually appreciate hard earned money. Some of dem still carry d virus.

Over valid dey worry your point.

Family / Re: Why Can't Single People 'Just Say No' To Married People? by RentedReality(m): 10:01pm On Oct 02, 2014
The same way married folks here spend way too much time online is probably the same reason single people still 'mix' with married ones.

It's not about saying no, there's probably something missing where they are so they'll always be a tendency to "look" outside the window.

No disrespect to anyone here, but nothing attracts me more than a woman who works to pay her bills and such.

I'd go Miles like Davis for her.

It's a huge turn on for me, and it doesn't have to be some white collared job. Met this young girl who works at a lounge and couldn't help noticing the contrast between her and some deadbeat Picasso faced women working old men for coins.

She had quiet dignity in her labor, and carried herself well.

Thing is, she'll probably be less demanding, Independent, respect the value of hard-work/money and might also be the type to help a young man grow.

I'll take that over any duck faced/made for Instagram type.

Again, no disrespect to none, just my Independence Day thoughts.

Not everyone, girls that are low on the priority scale are fair game.

What's the need for locking down girls you probably don't really dig, plus someone to distract them helps especially if they are always on your case.

LaBellaMafiaZA: Team tomboy right hur lol. Never met a guy that didn't habour a secret crush on me. Maybe they even wanna marry me grin I have balance though. I wear make-up, panties (not boxers) etc. Girly. But I don't do skirts, dresses, high heels, long weaves, long nails etc. Not my style. I don't dress like a dude either lol. I wear clothes that are meant for ladies, just not the kind that screams "I'm a pweencess". Yuck. So I guess I'm not that girly when it comes to some things, but still able to mantain an acceptable medium without looking like a butch dyke.

Tomboys are fun. We won't whine about breaking a nail & other annoying princessy things grin

I sometimes catch wreck with your type, there's an element of rugged sexuality I like.

Plus, they're more open to trying new things out, and I like pple that like trying out new things angry

But not the over manly tomboys, there's a fine blend of Tomboy, and I know them when I see them.

countsparrow: Why y'all blaming d guy 90 times out of 100 d fault comes from ur BF... U know y Ur BF goes out, tells d friend, omo dat gal sabi fvck die, she do like dis, do like dat, I lift her legs give am from behind and all sorts... Having said all dis to his friend, the friend sees d GF in a different light, they see u as a game. any Guy dat tells his friends all dat stuff doesn't value his GF therefore making her toastable to friends... Girls if your Bae's friend ask you out
, reconsider ur relationship, most time, d guy doesn't value you and must have said nasty things about you to his friends

NB: this is a true life example

Guys will never say the truth but deep down u know u have said some nasty shit about ur gal... When a guy values his woman, hardly will u see a friend asking her out, go ask... So gals think when such happens..

You've said it all.

Guys generally try hitting on the 'side chick' of the side chick but never the main piece.
The farther the link between the friend/girl in question, the more the likelihood of others making moves on her.

It's similar to Jungle law: male Cuttle fish blow air in the mouths of the females, which forces out the sem.en left by other males, before mating. This ensures continuity of his lineage. It's the law of survival, so naturally people will always make moves on you regardless of your relationship status.

But real friends don't do that, they'll always ask for permission first.

Family / Re: Feminism Redefined By Emma Watson by RentedReality(m): 8:05pm On Sep 25, 2014
This really is a non-issue.

Those seeking to address gender equality, should do so in a targeted manner.
Emma Watson should deliver this message in front of Middle Eastern Sheikhs not leaders of the free world.

This trend of celebrities "lending a voice to a cause'' is played out and that's what I see here.

If truth be told, in the part of the world from where i'm from, the imbalance is on the male side. At work, at home, at school, everywhere women around me are treated equally and even preferentially, so where does feminism come in?

Or is it the old argument of women not occupying positions of authority? Need i give examples?

Genders roles have evolved, traditionally women where bound to the home front but as the society changed, so did the need for women to take on more challenging responsibilities for the family as a unit to survive.

It is only natural that it might take a while before you have a 50:50 ratio of men to women occupying relevant positions.

Kill this conversation, I know kids in Somalia without food and I bet the last thing on their minds right now is gender equality angry

jossi994: Remember one like that in my parish named sandra.. We were real close and bla bla bla. While it was clear i wanted a relationship, she gan had used permanent ink to mark friendzone on my big head.. I asked her to date me and she started with the whole i-like-you-as-a-brother monologue. I quietly listened to her bullshit and cut my losses. I stepped away and let her go and it served me real good cos i met a better person. Occasionally we chat and i have a lot of fun watching her try to reinkindle some bloody spark that doesn't exist no more.. I'm happy cos she's here watching me enjoy myself and knowing that she couldn't trap me in that bloody friendzone!

Truest post I've read in a while.

You are an inspiration to all the deadbeats caught in the Friend-zone.

Tired of telling cats how not to get Friend-zoned, it's simple; stop being overly patronizing, do your thing.

This shows confidence in self which translates to a man that knows his onions and can provide for his family, which in turn excites the primordial genes in women that attracts them to men that can offer a survival package. Bear in mind we are conditioned by genes that act only to ensure survival; a woman will always look for a mate that can guarantee (A) Healthy offspring (B) survival.

Niceties & indecision's are against the law of nature in regards to the rule of "Survival of the fittest".

My Reality, whats yours?

Typos & lies I agree with.

I'll tell you the absolute truth no one says; Key word match

Yeah I said it.

I'm a Talent Acquisition Specialist, in other words I match candidates with my clients job description. I feed off this, pay my bills and MB i use on Nairaland off this.

Truth be told, it is all about matching the clients job description with your work profile; but don't push it, no lies or you will get caught.
There's a grey area, capitalize on that.

10 years + experience? keep it down to 3 pages.

Not enough experience? focus on your achievements.

Get rid of your date of birth, and state of origin; it's against employment laws and could lead to bias.

Cover letter? 100 words or less highlighting the value you could bring to the organization.

Preferred font? Verdana or Calibri; shows you are serious minded.

Structure of resume? brief intro, career progression, training & workshops attended, and I.T proficiency related to your area of specialization.

This Google HR guy is yarning dust, things are done differently here, read this post this morning on my LinkedIn and laughed, had 600 CV's to review and only two of what he listed was a criteria.

Again, *dust* angry

Only number 3 is valid in my opinion.

Contrary to what people think, YOU can get a flat stomach if you want it that bad, but it doesn't come easy.

Crunches, Crunches, & more crunches. PLUS an exercise guide you can integrate into your schedule.
