After Unai Emery's sacking on Friday morning it emerged that some Arsenal chiefs had attempted to line up a deal with Jose Mourinho before he took charge at Tottenham.

Reports say former Juventus boss Max Allegri has rejected the chance to take over at Arsenal.

Tammy Abraham was taken straight to hospital on Wednesday night after damaging his stomach during Chelsea's Champions League clash with Valencia.



The England striker landed awkwardly on Ezequiel Garay at the end of the first half and was in obvious pain as he limped off the pitch.

He had to be taken off on a stretcher at the Mestalla before going to hospital instead of receiving treatment in the dressing room.

Gernot Rohr has described his time as Nigeria coach as a bittersweet experience as he awaits the commencement of contract renewal talks by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).


Rohr's deal as Super Eagles handler is set to expire in July 2020 but the country's football authority can begin talks for renewal in January.

The German, who was appointed head coach in 2016, last renewed his contract in 2018 after guiding the country to the Fifa World Cup in Russia, but there is a clause that gives him the chance to negotiate with other clubs and national teams immediately after the new year.

The former Bordeaux and Nice manager said he enjoys working with the 'young' Super Eagles team he has groomed but disclosed a tough relationship with the NFF when it comes to payment of bonuses and wages.

“The President of the Nigeria Football Federation has told me that we will sit down in January 2020 for a discussion and the conclusion of the extension of my contract, which runs out on June 30,” Rohr told Inside World Football.

“To be very honest, I have enjoyed the last three years with the national team of Nigeria, because I can see the progress that I have made with the players over this period.

“I think that I have the chance to do something with this group for the 2021 Afcon in Cameroon and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The players are young, disciplined and willing to learn. I am very happy with them and my staff. We have formed a strong team, a strong unit.

“But I am surprised that the federation are taking their time to conclude a contract. And to be honest, I am also surprised that when I was given a contract extension after qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, it was only extended until July 2020, which is right in the middle of qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. That is not normal and it is only the federation that can explain the reason for this.

"While I have had a good time with my players and staff over the last three years, I have to say that relations with the administration have not been very easy, especially when it comes to the payment of my wages and that of the bonuses and allowances of my players and staff. There needs to be a lot more respect in this regard."

After guiding the three-time African champions to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in July, Rohr disclosed interests from several clubs and national teams but declined due to his commitment to Nigeria.

While interests for his services might grow in the coming weeks, the Gabon and Burkina Faso manager said he awaits NFF president Amaju Pinnick's call for contract renewal talks.

“According to the provisions of my current contract with Nigeria, I am free, from January 1 2020, to enter into a pre-contract agreement with any club or national team, to start work with them on the first of July 2020. That is my right,” the German tactician continued.

“After the Afcon in Egypt, I was approached by some national teams but I made it clear that I was still under contract with Nigeria and was happy to continue with my work here.

“I will wait for my conversation with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation in January when he says that we shall arrange a time to sit down and talk. We shall see what happens.”

In an attempt to get his unpaid wages and bonuses, Rohr has been forced to hire the lawyer of Manchester United legend Eric Cantona, Jean-Jacques Bertrand, who will, in turn, give him time to focus on his job.

“I preferred to get Jean-Jacques involved because it got to a stage that I didn’t want to be speaking to the federation about money all the time. It got tiring… I wanted to take my mind away from money and simply focus on my job and let him deal with the issues off the field," he added.

Rohr has helped Nigeria start their qualification campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on a high note with back-to-back victories against Benin and Lesotho this month.

The Super Eagles' next Afcon qualifier is scheduled for August 31 against Sierra Leone on home ground.

Jose Mourinho has hinted that Tottenham could be his last job in English football.


When asked whether it was possible he would not manage another side in England, Mourinho said: “I'd love that to be the case. I would love to stay for many years. I say 'many years', but I know realistically how football is.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has issued a two-month ultimatum to the Nigeria Football Federation .

The German technical adviser has urged the football Federation to resolve his future with the national team, saying he would quit his post if things are not regularized.

Jose Mourinho was named the new manager of Tottheham after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked due to the club's poor performance.




Recall that Jose Mourinho coached Chelsea which happened to be a rival with his new club, Tottheham.

Chelsea and Tottenham are both club's in London.

Although, Jose Mourinho who was sacked by Chelsea twice joined Manchester United where he won the Europa League.

Harry Kane has paid an emotional tribute to Mauricio Pochettino after his sacking by Tottenham Hotspur, thanking the Argentine 'for helping me achieve my dreams.'


The Spurs striker tweeted a photograph of the pair joking and smiling together after Pochettino was removed from his post on Tuesday night and replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Kane wrote: 'Gaffer. I'll be forever thankful to you for helping me achieve my dreams.


'We've had some amazing moments in the last 5 and a half years that I will never forget.

'You were my manager and my friend as well and I thank you for that relationship. Good luck with your next chapter!'

It was Pochettino placed faith in young striker Kane when he was appointed as Spurs manager in the summer of 2014.

Trolls created a fake Instagram page using the picture of a boy who died of cancer in a sick bid to get celebrity likes and followers.


An account called 'Declans Foundation' that used the handle harrykane_birthday claimed it was accumulating followers to get footballer Harry Kane to come to a boy called Declan's birthday party.

Doctored screen shots posted on the page show the user trying to message the England captain asking him to attend 'Declan's' birthday party after he was diagnosed with cancer.

But the photos on the page are actually of a nine-year-old called Bailey Cooper from Bristol who died of an aggressive childhood cancer in December 2017.

The fake reply from the Tottenham star, 26, purports to show him agreeing to attend the birthday party if the account gets 20,000 followers.

The trolls also targeted Manchester United's official account, mocking up a fake response to another message, which agrees to host the birthday party at Old Trafford if the profile gets to 100,000 followers and 130,000 likes.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Harry Kane for comment.

The account bio reads: 'Please share with friends so my son can have the opportunity to meet his football icon, Harry Kane.'

It reached 47,000 followers before all the images were taken down and the account was made private today.

The account sparked a furious backlash, with people on social media branding it 'disgusting' and one person urging others not to support the trolls.

They wrote: 'The Harry Kane Birthday party is fake. Stop sharing the page and giving them the attention they want.

'They have used pictures of a little boy called Bailey who has already passed.'



The sick account owner wrote posted earlier: 'I can't wait to give my little baby his best every birthday.

'I have to thank everyone for all of the DMs and the support in general.

'I hope we can hit this new goal. I chose Old Trafford as we currently live in Manchester as Declan was transferred to a new hospital to cure his needs.'

The picture on the account shows Bailey Cooper, who battled Non-Hodgkin lymphoma for 15 months, with no hair and a hospital drip hooked up to his nose.

Little Bailey was just nine years old when he died.

The nation's hearts broke when it was reported he managed to live long enough to welcome his baby sister Millie into the world in December 2017.

Pictures showed him cradling baby Millie on the day she was born - the day before he died on Christmas Eve 2017.

He told his parents Lee and Rachel they were 'only allowed to cry for 20 minutes' after he left them.

Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of Egypt's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after a recurrence of a previous ankle injury.


Egypt have been handed a major injury blow as Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of their 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on Thursday, November 14.

An official statement reads: 'According to scans results Salah won't be able to play with Egypt during this international break.'

Super Eagles Technical adviser Gernot Rohr has disclosed his reasons for keeping players substitutions late in games.

Speaking during Tuesday’s Press conference, the Franco-German tactician said the reasons for making late substitutions is for him to avoid mistakes.

“I always try to give the starting XI enough time to express themselves” Rohr said.

“I also have to be very sure that the player I want to take off has done all he can during his time on the field of play,”

Lastly, Rohr said he has to be wary of injuries to any of the players.

According to him,.. early substitutions can go a long way to affect his game plans.
