Serbian side Partizan Beograd have completed the signing of former Nigeria U23 forward Sadiq Umar from Roma.

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Victor Moses from Premier League side Chelsea on a loan move.

Arsenal's youngster, Gabriel Martinelli has his name on lips of many football fans following his display against Chelsea.



Recall that the young Brazilian played in the Italian fourth division with Ituano, before he made the move to Emirates in 2019.

He added how important those trials were for his overall development.

"There was a project between Ituano and Manchester United, and they always took a player. And I always came for these trip.

"I could neither speak English nor French, but he [Pogba] said 'tudo bem' (a common Portuguese greeting) and took the picture with me nicely, he was super humble.

"Those training days were super important for me to adapt to the style of play, the players and how fast the game is here."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that he wanted to substitute Gabriel Martinelli 'a few times', but was constantly shocked by his energy levels.


The Gunners travelled to West London on Tuesday night, taking on rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and it looked like being a tricky night for Arsenal.

Shkodran Mustafi's slack back pass put David Luiz in trouble, and when he was sent off for hauling down Tammy Abraham, Jorginho stepped up to score from the penalty spot.

A slip from N'Golo Kante allowed 10-man Arsenal to pull level as Martinelli raced clear to score, only for Cesar Azpilicueta to put Chelsea back in front.

Arsenal rallied again though, as Hector Bellerin scored a late leveller with a left-footed effort, giving Arteta and co a point as they made the trip back to North London.

Arteta was asked about Martinelli's impact after the final whistle, and praised him for having the courage to take on Azpilicueta all night long.

The Spaniard then hailed Martinelli's energy, admitting that he wanted to substitute him on a number of occasions, believing he looked tired – but would then start sprinting 60 yards again, meaning Arteta left him on.



“No and to play in this stadium the way he has, with 10 men and against Azpilicueta who in my opinion is one of the best defenders in the league - and he was going against him every single time, you need courage to do that,” said Arteta. “Then his energy. I wanted to take him off a few times because he looked knackered, he was cramping and next minute he's sprinting 60 yards again,” he added.

England captain Harry Kane is unlikely to be fit for Euro 2020, a leading orthopaedic surgeon has said.


Chris Wilson, one of the country's prominent doctors in the procedure, says he thinks it is more likely to be six months before Kane could play again.

'I would expect it to be six months before he could return to action,' Dr Wilson, who has performed the same operation 75 times, said.

'There is a big range of opinion because it is such an uncommon procedure and some surgeons may say quicker.

'If the repair was good and sound, the first six weeks he will be nursing the repair and doing very little.

'Six to 12 weeks, providing everything was OK, he will be doing basic strengthening exercises.

'At three months you would start a normal hamstring rehabilitation that you would do if you got a tear in the middle of the muscle.

'If I was talking to a top-level footballer I would want to manage their expectations and say I wouldn't anticipate them being fit and playing normally in a game for six months following the surgery.

'If it was me I would say aim for getting fit for pre-season training. I am aware in Harry Kane's case they have been saying April or May - I have to say I would be very surprised.'

Kane has a history of defying medical opinion to return quickly from a string of ankle ligament injuries.

Dr Wilson, who is the surgeon for Championship sides Cardiff and Swansea and has operated on Olympic athletes, has urged caution with Kane's recovery, even if he is feeling good.

'There is a risk of recurrence,' he said. 'When you do a hamstring repair, you'll tell the athlete there is a risk of re-rupture.


'Coming back too early increases the risk of re-rupture. There is no getting around that.

'Most of the surgeons will say it will take at least three months before he is doing some normal running and training.

'He may defy expectations. If it was me, I would say forget playing before six months, no matter how good you feel.

'His surgeon may be a bit more relaxed about it and say, "Get to three months and see how he is".'

With a summer tournament just five months away, where England play their three group games on home soil, Dr Wilson says Kane's surgeon could come under pressure to give him the green light to recover.

'It's not impossible (he could return sooner), maybe with a repair of the single tear,' he said.

'It is not really a set science. The surgeon will know how strong the repair is.

'The club's staff may be pecking away at the surgeon. I have had this with footballers and rugby players, they may say, 'Look he is fine, why are we holding him back?'.

'The trainers shorten the recovery, with the intensity of input they may get him back in three or four months, who knows, but personally I would be very surprised.'

Manchester United are currently sweating on the fitness of Marcus Rashford ahead of the clash against Liverpool on Sunday.




The Red Devils travel to Anfield to face Premier League leaders at 5:30pm.

Rashford was substituted in the 4-0 win against Norwich last week, despite scoring a brace in the game.

Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Rashford would be assessed by the club's medical team and admitted to taking a risk in bringing his star attacker on to try to win the game.

"Yes [the substitution] backfired," Solskjaer said to BT Sport. "You got to take [a chance] once in a while.

"He's a quick healer and he'll play through some pain, definitely, if he's capable, if it's not a bad, bad injury," Solskjaer told reporters at a news conference.

"But we've seen that he's struggled lately - but more when he's been tired.

"He wasn't on long enough to be tired so I think it might have been something that just happened there and then.

"He's been absolutely top this season so we'll do everything we can to get him fit for Sunday.

"If he's not then we'll play without him."

"It's football, I'll never ever complain about all the injuries we've got," he added.

"That's just part and parcel of it and at the moment that's Marcus. He's been available and fit all season so you can't complain."

Roberto Firmino and team-mate Alisson Becker were left in tears after the Liverpool forward was baptised in an emotional ceremony held in his own swimming pool.


A large crowd of friends and family including midfielder Fabinho, watched on as the Brazilian went through the traditional Christian baptism.

Liverpool Football Club have announced new partnership with Nike, the world's leading footwear and apparel company.


Acc to reports gathered, the brand has been announced as the Reds official kit supplier from the 2020-21 season.

The multi-year partnership is expected to begin on June 1, 2020. The deal will see Nike manufacture and supply Liverpool FC’s playing, training and travel wear.

As official kit supplier, the agreement will see Nike outfitting the men’s, women’s and Academy squads, as well as coaching staff and Liverpool FC Foundation.


Billy Hogan, LFC’s managing director and chief commercial officer, said: “Our iconic kit is a key part of our history and identity. We welcome Nike into the LFC family as our new official kit supplier and expect them to be an incredible partner for the club, both at home and globally as we continue to expand our fanbase.

“As a brand, Nike reflects our ambitions for growth, and we look forward to working with them to bring fans new and exciting products.”

New Balance has been the club’s official kit supplier since 2015 and will continue until the end of the 2019-20 season. “We’d like to thank New Balance for their support over the last few years and wish them well for the future,” added Hogan.

VERSATILE Nigerian defender Kelechi John has today completed a move to Casa Pia Atlético Clube, the Portuguese Liga Pro side have informed via social media.

The Nigeria U23 international has been inactive since the end of the 2018-2019 season after parting company with Rio Ave, whom he represented for three years.

He transferred to Rio Ave from Junior Elkanemi Academy, a Jos based grassroots club that produced the likes of Obi Mikel, Joseph Akpala and Chidozie Awaziem.

“I’m here to help the team stay in ligapro. I want to prove my worth to help the team, ” said Kelechi, moments after signing the contract with Casa Pia Atlético Clube.

“I believe that from January we will climb the table and everything will be fine ”

After 14 matches in the Segunda Liga, Kelechi’s new employers are 17th in the 18-team table with eight points.

Getafe boss Jose Bordalas admitted there could be last-minute setbacks as they look to complete the transfer of Oghenekaro Etebo from Stoke City.
Both clubs are reportedly in talks over the signing of the Nigeria international on a loan until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent.

Ahead of Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Real Madrid, Bordalas conceded Etebo’s return to Spain is imminent but not confirmed yet.

“The arrival of Etebo is not 100% closed. There can always be last-minute setbacks and that is why I prefer to be cautious,” Bordalas told the media.

The 24-year-old midfielder enjoyed a fine debut season with Stoke City in the Championship last season, winning the club’s Player of the Year but he has found regular playing time difficult in Michael O’Neill’s team.

Etebo has played 11 league games for the Potters who are struggling in the Championship in this campaign, with just a point adrift of the relegation zone.

Reading have confirmed that Nigeria international Sone Aluko has returned to the Championship club following the expiration of his loan deal with Chinese team Beijing Renhe.


Aluko, who has been training with the Royals squad since last week, has been included in the matchday eighteen for the ongoing Emirates FA Cup clash against Blackpool at the Madejski Stadium.

Before heading out on loan to China, he was playing with the number 14 jersey at Reading but has taken a new squad number of 23 for the remainder of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Reading broke their transfer record to sign the winger from Fulham in August 2017 and he has gone on to make 60 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.

The experienced Aluko has appeared in the Premier League, Scottish Premiership, UEFA Cup and Europa League.
