Rebuker:Nothing extraordinary here. It is just a light aircraft, the kind often used by small airlines or private owners for short haul flights into remote areas, deep in the jungle, where airports do not exist. These planes are mostly handy for ferrying tourists from the city to out of the way destinations. The cabin is not pressurized, since they do not usually fly at high altitudes. What makes them particularly useful is their ability to land almost anywhere, with no fancy concrete runway required. That same versatility is why they are also popular with smugglers, who use them to move drugs, weapons, and other contraband. And on a lighter note, these aircraft are also a favorite choice for skydiving.

Biodun556:Did Obj criticize himself and his role in the mess that is Nigeria? Or did he as usual in full exercise of his usual "god complex" use the book to talk down on everyone else but himself? |
iwaeda:So according to this Pastor, because Nigeria, a 60+ year old country isnt working yet, it means it wasnt created by God? The biblical nation called Israel was wrought by God's own hand. Do you know how many ti.es they have fallen out of God's favour by acts of sin and political errors? The America and UK and other countries that we like benchmarking Nigeria against, do you know how old they are as countries? Do you know how long it has taken some of them to figure out a way for their nations? Do you realise that so.e of these countries are still work in progress? Why are we so hard on ourselves. As bad as it looks, we have not done badly both as a nation and as a country. People go just climb pulpit open mouth waaaaahhhh and be pouring out message that God did not send them. Just imagine telling your gathered congregants on a Sunday morning that God did not create Nigeria. Which country did God "create" in that sense? Absolutely nonsense! I really wish pastors will just stop sharing their personal political opinions as the gospel on God's altar. |
AmazingGenius:I just wish religious leaders will stop making political statements on the altar and pulpits. |
Chilipepper:Nigerians have a very short memory. Same Y'aradua that was insulted and mocked during his illness and even after his death. Same man that was labelled Baba Go Slow during and after his tenure has suddenly become the darling of Nigerians because of the hate for one man. Nigeria might yet celebrate PMB and even BAT one day soon in the not too distant future. |
The President has arrived back in Abuja today. The press release before he traveled was that he would be away for 2 weeks. What's the fuss about the President's location? |
adenigga:I'm glad wisdom and caution prevailed. I was a bit surprised when I saw her and her followers jubilating over a court ruling that did not explicitly grant her any of the beliefs she was seeking, but rather fined her for contempt for an earlier misdemeanor. If she had attempted to resume yesterday, she would have been embarrassed by the security team - and sadly she won't have been able to go back to court for succor. I think she has done enough drama. She needs to get off her high horse, tender an apology to the Senate and it's leadership so she can get back to work. He recalcitrance is costing her constituency their representation in the red chamber. |
naptu2:The Obidient group think all of Nigeria is on Social Media. I hope the reality doesn't shock them too much. |
Mynd44: |
Maxymilliano:She knows she is lying but she deliberately wants to create more media drama when security denies her entry to the chambers. The court did not order her immediate reinstatement and as a lawyer, I am sure she knows it. |
NgeneUkwenu: |
dinkyicon:Yes you are right. If the Senate had stepped out of its own code of conduct to sanction Madam Natasha, the court can rule them out of order because there is no legal basis for that. But if the regulation is duly agreed and documented in the Senate's stating rules or code of conduct, it is binding on all legislators and the court cannot rule against it. The principle of separation of powers is duly enshrined in the Nigerian constitution and by its provision, the legislature, just like the judiciary and the Executive arms of government, is self regulating. |
Nemere2020:The court cannot "order" the Senate to recall Madam Akpoti. It can only advise her recall. The judiciary and the legislature are 2 separate arms of government and independently regulate themselves without interference from the other. |
iwaeda: |
Politicstoday:Like i said, government under President Jonathan, adopted a passive stance on the name change hence the decision of the court. If the government was determined to change the name of UNILAG, no court anywhere would have stopped them. But I get your point. |
Politicstoday:Yes, they have a right to resist. But government has a right to insist and the law provides them backing to take such decisions like changing the name of the school. |
Omoawoke:The "government" is the "owner" of the institution. The so-called "key stakeholders" can be "consulted" in taking decisions concerning the school. But the final decision rests with government. |
Politicstoday:Lol. Which "court of justice" ruled that government has no right to change the name of a public school that is 100% funded by government? That judge needs his head examined. The case of UNILAG was reverted because GEJ as President had very little appetite for crisis in the polity. Some Presidents will take that decision and stand by it. An Obasanjo for instance wouldn't have gone back on his decision. |
Omoawoke:Lol. GEJ decided to put down the wave of student protests by reverting government's decision. Try that under a stubborn President like Obasanjo and the government's reaction would have been different. The students do not own the school and have zero say on what the school is called. |
Olaide1295:Agreed, the governor is a "temporary custodian". But Government is a continuum let by a governor per time and the school in question is owned by "government". Whatever decision that the governor takes on behalf of government is ratified by the House of Assembly and gazetted so it is binding on subsequent governors. If another governor comes in and wants to change it, it would have to pass through the same process again. It might interest you to know that Harvard was not always called Harvard. It was originally called "New College". The name was changed to Harvard College in 1639, in honor of its first major benefactor, John Harvard, who left the college his books and half his estate |
Politicstoday:why do students of a government institution feel like they have a say into what the owner of an institution decides to name it.?? ![]() Olaide1295:Please what does the name of the school have to do with the "class" of the university? |

Ameboperoo:It is no more a bill. It is now a law effective immediately. |
Bobloco:The President should have toned down his visit to Benue and done it in a more timely manner. I think it was the State's decision to shut schools and encourage people to come out for a welcome parade. I really don't see anything wrong with it though I wouldn't have done that if I was the governor. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the President's apparel in my opinion. |
SarkinYarki:So in your opinion, Nigeria, a sovereign nation, has no right to express their diplomatic position on international issues just so you don't suffer the temporary inconvenience of not being able to visit the US? What kind of thinking is that? |
GboyegaD:You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I choose to celebrate what this administration has done by completing the blue line and building the red line from scratch to where it is now in operation. We can ask for more while celebrating what they have achieved. |
GboyegaD:All the while it was stalled by different funding conflicts and issues. But since all the issues have been resolved under this current administration, there has been consistent progress. 16 years or not, it is worth celebrating when you compare it to similar projects across the country like Rivers and Akwa Ibom that have been abandoned. |
I am very impressed with the degree of progress made on this rail project and so many other projects across the Lagos metropolis. One thing I like about Babajide Sanwoolu's administration is that once they commence a project, you will see consistent progress until it finishes. You rarely see a contractor abandon site for months unlike the previous governments. Kudos to them. |
Metrix147:If Mr. Obi is not desperate for power then he should stop chasing it. Let him stop running from pillar to post everyday of the week, mind his business and wait for Nigerians to bring the power to him. ![]() |
Sheuns:There were pigs being reared at Mile 2 bus stop. They used to forage on the heaps of refuse that sprung up beside the pedestrian bridge. You can ask anyone that lived in Mile 2 Estate and frequented the bus stop right opposite the current Train Station during Ambode's time. Ambode did averagely well in some aspects of governance. But he failed WOEFULLY in the areas of road construction and waste management/sanitation in my opinion. He did NOTHING on the railway blue line that was started under Fashola; he abandoned the ongoing construction of Lagos - Badagry expressway; basically abandoned the entire Amuwo-Odofin - Ojo - Oriade axis. You can hate Sanwoolu. But that man has done very well especially in the area of road construction and public infrastructure. The Blue line is up and running and the project to extend it to Okoko from the current termination point in Mile 2 is moving at a steady pace. The Badagry expressway has received massive attention. The Red line is also up and running. So many infrastructural projects currently ongoing. I have nothing against Ambode or Fashola. They did their best during their tenure. But if Ambode had continued with Fashola's pace and work when he took over, he would have achieved a lot more. He rather spent his time fighting unnecessary battles and trying to erase the latter's legacies. |
Coming out of the military era, Lagos was an eyesore. There were literally mountains of refuse across several parts of the metropolis. Tinubu came and cleared most of those mountains and put in place the framework for LAWMA. Fashola continued his good works with the sanitation and beautification of many open areas across Lagos. Things went very bad under Ambode due to the Visionscape debacle. The heaps of refuse began to mount again. People literally began to raise pigs at Mile 2 busstop because the pigs always had enough to forage and eat from the piles of refuse at the busstop. Sanwoolu is doing his best against the back drop of the indiscriminate dumping of refuse. We the prople need to do bette . |
AmazingGenius:I have some friends who swear by Canada since they moved. I also have a few who curse the day they decided to move. The move to Canada or any of the other japa destinations works for some and doesn't for some others. It is a huge leap of faith after all said and done. But just know that a lizard in Nigeria doesn't automatically become a crocodile abroad just by emigrating. It takes a lot of prayers, patience, planning and HARDWORK! |
