We may dislike Wike and his politics. But it makes no sense that Governor Fubara is running an entire state on the basis of decisions taken by a 4 - man house of assembly. If i were Fubara, rather than these threats of crisis, I would ignore Wike, and open up channels of rapprochement with the other legislators so as to restore a semblance of peace to my state. Sometimes you need to stoop to conquer. Frankly this war with Wike does River State no good. Fubara cannot expect to ride on a tiger's back to government house and so carelessly want to jettison the tiger without any resistance. But he needs to take charge of his state and make peace with all stakeholders. |
Islie:The independent marketers are business men. They are not averse to a profitable deal. If they were getting a better deal frm Dangote than they are importing PMS, i am sure they would jump at it. Why is Dangote so cagey about the cost of a liter of PMS from his refinery? Can he tell the public how much it costs so that we can now know if the marketers are deliberately trying to dupe Nigerians? Besides, was it not this same Dangote that was mouthing off about how he will e port his fuel to foreign markets if he could not get any off takers locally? |
Kosisochukwu12:See as "village people" don get this one! E don go use misbehavior injure em political career. |
Newlymarried:There's nothing mechanically wrong with The VP's jet. It most likely suffered a bird strike. The damage can be isolated and fixed so the aircraft can return to service. He does not need a new aircraft. Besides, there are other aircrafts in the presidential fleet that the VP can use. He can even share the President's plane. There is no need to invest any more money in planes at this time. |

God I thank you that I am not under this kind of pressure to leave my country. I thank you that my success in life is not geolocated.🙏 |

is nothing wrong with CNG conversion or usage. But just like with every flammable product, you must follow very strict safety measures and the conversion must be handled by certified experts. An accident involving a CNG car does not mean the technology is bad. We have had several cars catch fire at filling stations while filling up with petrol. It does not mean that petrol is bad or that no one should use it. If you do not believe in CNG, stick to petrol. |
Asianplug:There is nothing really wrong with the Nigerian passport. But there is everything wrong with some of its holders, especially those that regularly travel to particular destinations that are struggling with the scourge of hard drugs. Citizens from countries with a reputation for drug trafficking often face extra security checks. Nations like Vietnam, Singapore, India, and Indonesia have implemented strict measures against Nigerians due to the actions of a few who have tarnished Nigeria’s image. If we change our ways, our passport will regain its strength, and holders will be treated with dignity and respect once again. |
madridguy:Hmmm! If I were you, I would be careful what I put on the internet. Note that you are not anonymous or faceless and that Nairaland is probably one of Nigeria's most monitored websites by local and international security operatives. In most climes, a terrorist sympathizer is considered a potential terrorist. Be careful oooo! I think the moderators should delete that comment immediately. |
ogododo:I see Mr. Falana's point. Lagos State government should take another look at the increase and adjust it accordingly. But why do we always make it look like every worker in Nigeria earns minimum wage ![]() |
The question posed was whether he would be willing to support a more widely acceptable candidate in 2027. This question was raised in relation to Kwankwaso's call for a coalition of opposition parties to defeat the APC. A simple yes or no response from Peter Obi would have sufficed. However, he chose to provide a lengthy and convoluted explanation, which is a common tactic employed by politicians to confuse the electorate. To avoid misinterpretation or having one's words taken out of context, it is advisable to provide direct and concise responses to questions. If further details or clarification are required, the speaker can wait for follow-up questions. |
If Nigeria has a Presidential yacht, it would not be named "Rania" and would not be manned by white civilians. It would be under the control of the Nigerian Navy. The yacht in the video is operated by a charter company. You can easily find its details on Google. https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9883883 |
dre11:A man decides to temporarily step down from his role and issues a public statement explaining his reasons for doing so. He wasn't obligated to provide an explanation, but chose to, knowing that people like the writer of this story—and their employers—would try to twist the narrative for their own selfish purposes. Despite this clear explanation, the writer ignores it, fabricates their own version of events, and then has the audacity to call the man for confirmation of their distorted story. How much more absurd can it get? |
treesun:Could we be looking at the next NNPC chairman? ![]() Mele Kyari is definitely on his way out. His recent body language and actions is like that of someone that has nothing to lose. |
ogododo:Hmmm! He who brings home ant infested firewood should not complain when the lizards come calling. |
opamoses1:If corpers are going to stay in their zones, then they might as well scrap the whole thing because it won't work anymore. The whole point of the program is to give university graduates a chance to experience different regions and cultures around the country. |
What are the prices? Especially the blue one? |
adamusuleiman3:How is he reported "missing" when it has been confirmed he is with the police with clear bail conditions set? |
This hatred for the President has robbed many of us of our objectivity. Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with the questions asked by the TV reporter. The questions asked are not half as scathing as those usually asked by Rufai on Arise TV or Seun on Channels TV, to great applause. Generally speaking, the NLC President is a citizen of this country and does not enjoy any immunity from arrest or invitation by the police. The Police has displayed great restraint and deference for the NLC President's office by sending an invitation rather than apprehending him, which is what they would do for the ordinary Nigerian. I think it is now necessary for Mr. Ajaero to show some self respect and regard for the office he occupies by making himself available. There is no way someone of his ilk can claim to be oppressed by the Police. Except he has something to hide, Mr. Ajaero should honor the police invitation expeditiously. |
treesun:But what if he is actually indicted for some unpatriotic acts? Is the NLC president above the law ![]() |
Racoon:The 2 issues are not mutually exclusive. Government should find a way to free those kids and ensure adequate security across the country to prevent a reoccurrence. But government should also make urgent moves to stem the brain drain within the medical sector of Nigeria. There is no country that will train medical professionals at a grossly subsidized rate only to release them almost immediately to developed countries. If you want to practice medicine in a developed country, go and study medicine in that country and see how easy and cheap it is. |
TonyeBarcanista:You have said a lot and ended up saying not much. The fact is that since the return to democracy, the north only joins a protest under a president of southern extraction. If a nationwide protest breaks out under a president of northern extraction, the north sits it out. Frankly speaking, I have no problem with that, but it is what it is. They always rally round and look out for their own. We saw it play out in the Y'aradua situation where northern politicians stood firm in insisting GEJ must not be sworn in even after it had become obvious that Y'aradua was either incapacitated or dead. We down south are always quick to throw ours under the bus because of our petty rivalries but the north will consistently speak with one voice. They always tilt towards their own if it comes down to making a choice. Kudos to them. |
ogododo:Waiting for the first dunderhead that will blame this on Tinubu and Nigeria's government. ![]() |
Chinjo2:It's good to see you arguing so passionately in defense of the governor of Edo State and his associates in CAN. I hope you would present a similarly logical argument if an APC government were in charge of Edo State. It seems that our sense of truth is now dictated by our political affiliations. It seems we have all suspended our logical reasoning and critical thinking, and it's truly a shame. |
Hmmm! I hope the Bengalis do not regret their actions. Soldiers aren't trained to lead civilians. They are not democrats. They rule by decree and do not believe in human rights. I just hope for their sake that the new leader doesn't cultivate a taste for power and decide to stay. |
alsudan:What difference does it make whether it is live or pre-recorded?🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ |
slaawomirr:Tinubu is safe in Abuja. If he isn't in Abuja, he will br safe in Lagos. In fact, if the whole of Nigeria goes up in flames, he will be safe elsewhere. Guess who has no where to go if it all goes up in flames? The people blocking Aduwawa and those planning a "cataclysmic revolution". So do not worry...do not worry at all. |
thesicilian:Talmbout "IQ dropping" like it was ever anything but mid! Watching BB Naija or any other program on TV does not interfere with anyone attending a protest. If Watching BB Naija interferes with your ability to plan or join your protest, turn it off or tune to another channel. Makes no sense to ask government to ban a program or ask a private entity like DSTV not to do their business because disgruntled Nigerians want to protest. Now run along please. |
diesel86:Why to dey burn burn dey always sweet una ![]() |
thesicilian:What's wrong with planning a protest and watching TV? Maybe the planners should stop eating and taking a bath too, just to show you how "serious" they are. |
bolabizzle:If you leave some of these so called youths, they would be the worse set of despots that ever existed. |
