Politics / Re: Chad Gives Nigeria April 22 Deadline To Occupy Territories Seized From BokoHaram by Reptyle(m): 11:37pm On Apr 12, 2020 |
CapitalBank: President Deby knows how to play up propaganda. The recent operation of the Chadian Army was all within Chadian territory. They never crossed over into Nigerian territory so all these talks of holding territory within the Nigerian space is nonsense. |

Someone needs to arrest all of those people running around on Gbagada expressway in the name of exercise and show them these pictures and other horrible pictures from across the world. Perhaps where simple common sense has failed to work and get them to sit their asses at home, some good old shock therapy will! 1 Like |
Phones / Re: MTN Already Tested 5G In Nigeria (Screenshot) by Reptyle(m): 8:35pm On Apr 06, 2020 |
Macphenson: MTN ran a well-publicised demo of the 5G network and its benefits sometime in November 2019. The demo was well publicised and televised. It held in their head office in Lagos and their regional offices in Abuja and Calabar. It was well attended by members of the public and government. You can google for Youtube videos of the demo. There was nothing secret about it. The demo lasted for a week and then the machines were switched off and dismantled. The NCC or FG hasn't licensed any of the network to operate 5G in Nigeria. What MTN got was FG permission to run their demo. Huawei brought their equipment, set it up, ran the demo, shut down the machines, dismantled and everyone moved on. |
Politics / Re: Lockdown: Oyo Might Go Czech Republic Way - Seyi Makinde by Reptyle(m): 12:12pm On Apr 03, 2020 |
holuwashezy: Don't worry Seyi Makinde. You and your government should keep playing kalo-kalo with the lives of Oyo people because you don't want to toe the line of wisdom you hear! You will tell me whether Czech republic and Oyo have anything in common. WHO has repeatedly stressed that face mask and hand gloves do not prevent the virus. Keep playing the populist politician to the depraved adulation of your social media hallelujah band! Developed countries like US, China, France and UK have adopted total lockdown. You are talking about Czech republic and face mask? From the moment you organised a political rally after the announcement of the virus in Nigeria, I knew you were grossly overrated. I am just so glad you aren't the governor of Lagos else we would all have been dead by now. |

Politics / Re: COVID-19: Dino Melaye Says Buhari's Movement Ban Is Undemocratic by Reptyle(m): 9:00am On Mar 30, 2020 |
GamalNasser: The difference is that both the public and private sector are now compelled to shut down fully unlike Sanwoolu that partially shut down the public service and left the private sector to use their discretion. There are a lot of people that wanted to stay home but their offices compelled them to come into the office everyday thus exposing them and their families to risk. Now with this order, the employers will be forced to comply. Local flights are grounded and inter and intra state vehicular movements have been seriously curtailed. All in all, much more people by this order will stay in doors. It is very inconveniencing but highly necessary. |
Politics / Re: COVID-19: Dino Melaye Says Buhari's Movement Ban Is Undemocratic by Reptyle(m): 8:39am On Mar 30, 2020 |
GamalNasser: You people just like talking. So in your minds, you think the President just woke up in Abuja and pronounced curfew in 3 states across the country without due consultation with the state leadership apparatus? By the way, neither Lagos nor Abuja was on lockdown before now. When the rumour that Lagos was going to be locked down came up last week, the governor issued a statement to debunk it stating expressly that operations will be scaled down but not locked down. Between that announcement and today, there have been over 50 new confirmed cases in Lagos. If you dont see the necessity of an immediate full lockdown of Lagos like people have been clamouring for, then perhaps you want a repeat of the Italy situation in Nigeria. 1 Like |
Career / Re: COVID-19: MTN Staff To Start Working From Home Monday by Reptyle(m): 8:21am On Mar 23, 2020 |
helinues: Hmmm! Little do you know that MTN has been simulating telecommuting and equipping itself with a business continuity plan that enables atleast 80% of its staff work virtually from any location for about 3 years now. Considering the numerous disruption of their regular workflow by the NLC, agberos, government, etc, it would have been foolhardy not to do that. The company has invested millions of dollars on cutting edge work tools and cloud technology that allows staff work from any where. This has been tested and simulated over and over. Trust me, if they had not told you staff are working remotely, you wouldn't even notice. Your network will remain as stable as usual. 1 Like |

It is a no brainer really. How can you depose a king, banish him and keep him in custody in this modern time and age? You can ask him to leave Kano for a while to give the new king some time to settle into the role and avoid any blowback form his supporters. I'm sure the man wont mind doing that. But holding him in a location against his will is so wrong. Some of these gaffes from government are needless. 2 Likes 1 Share |

LindaIkejiNews: His rant is incoherent. One can barely make sense of the ramble from the son. It looks like the young man is also suffering his mom's mental health challenges. Many years ago, Kemi Olunloyo also went on a rant on the the internet disowning her parents. If I recall, she went as far as acusing her father of using her for his juju. Seems this is becoming a generational curse. May God have mercy. |
Politics / Re: Soyinka, Abdulsalami Abubakar To Monitor Supreme Court Imo Review by Reptyle(m): 11:43am On Feb 19, 2020 |
Myself2: I agree with you. But elsewhere, judicial reviews are done to correct dangerous precedents with the benefit of hindsight or against current realities, and not set them. Also judicial reviews are usually undertaken by neutral parties after sometime has passed so as not to create a disruption of order but set a new precedent. The current supreme court has only nine active judges out of it's full complement of 14. For a case of these kind, you must have a panel of atleast seven at every given time. What that means is that you are most likely going to have the same judges, bar one or two, sitting to review their own judgements that were delivered only a few weeks ago? Isn't that an aberration? I read somewhere that the PDP has written to the CJN asking that five out of the seven judges that presided over the Imo case, should recuse themselves from this review. If that happens, it means only four judges will be available for the review. That is less than the seven required to form a quorum. So what's the point? So while I agree that judicial reviews are normal and necessary sometimes, we should not allow the procedure to be so whimsical abused by our selfish politicians. |
Politics / Re: Protesters Storm Justice Mary Odili’s Private Residence In Abuja by Reptyle(m): 2:46pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
wwwihy: This is absolute nonsense! That panel had 6 other JSCs and not just Mary Odili. Are they going to go and picket their houses too? Politicians need to be careful with all of these dangerous precedents they are setting. The police need to put down this protest immediately. 1 Like 2 Shares |
Politics / Re: Soyinka, Abdulsalami Abubakar To Monitor Supreme Court Imo Review by Reptyle(m): 10:24am On Feb 18, 2020 |
janefblog: These ones are agitating for a "reversal" of the supreme court's ruling. The "review" as undertaken by the Supreme Court, might not necessarily lead to a "reversal" of the judgement. This "review" in itself sets a very dangerous precedent of having a trial after the trial. If the court then decides to reverse its own judgement, it will be dangerous. It means that the judiciary has basically hijacked the electoral process and all that politicians need to do after losing an election is to sponsor an agitation, apply for a judicial review and get into office through the backdoor. The elections have held, the courts have reviewed the results and made their ruling. No matter how imperfect the ruling may be, I think we all should accept the results and move on. We keep complaining that our judicial system is not good yet we keep supporting politicians to further ridicule the system. |

Everyone is taking this woman's word for it on the basis that her relatives were on the train and saw the Minister's convoy running away. Since she doesn't have any documentary evidence of this situation, is there a chance she could be lying. Or are we just to take her words because we do not like Amaechi and Buhari? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Sagay: Releasing ‘Repentant’ Boko Haram Members Into Society Dangerous by Reptyle(m): 9:23am On Feb 13, 2020 |
nairavsdollars: To be fair, Government's choices in this matter are limited: Option 1 - Kill everyone arrested on suspicion of being a member of Boko Haram. The danger of this is that a lot of people who aren't really Boko Haram members as well as those who were forced and coerced into joining Boko Haram will suffer unjustly. Human Rights organisations, backed by most western governments and partners will come for you and impose even more sanctions on the country. Option 2 - Incarcerate them in detention centres for the rest of their lives. Current prison facilities simply cannot accomodate them so government will have to build new prisons. Then government must further spend tax payers money on catering for these prisoners probably for the rest of their lives. The government can ill-afford that at this time. Option 3 - Profile all of the detainees with a view to determining the extent of radicalisation. (There is a scientific way of doing this and there are people trained to profile criminals.) Neutralise those found to be steeped in the Boko Haram ideology. Those ones are a hopeless case. Commence a deradicalisation procedure for the others like the government claims they have done. Equip them with some basic survival skills and cut them loose with a small purse. Track their progress as they reintegrate back into society. The only thing that I see wrong with this move by the Nigerian government is the undue publicity around the process. Though I doubt there is anything the government does that won't be criticised because we now view things through a political prism. Deradicalisation programmes like this one are one of the most effective preventive counter-terrorism measure adopted by countries all over the world. |

Awol1: GEJ paid counterpart funding? Can you show proof of this? The way some of you talk, it is almost like you wish the project was stalled or didn't even exist just so that you people can continue to hold on to you fallacious claims that Buhari hates Igbos. Unfortunately for people like you, Buhari "hates" the Igbos so much that he is determined to complete this project as well as any other projects in the Southeast before his tenure winds up. If he doesn't the next President of Nigeria will continue from where he stopped. 3 Likes |

Family / Re: I Found Mycoten Vagina Cream In My Wife's Wardrobe by Reptyle(m): 2:03pm On Jan 30, 2020 |
uncastableodd: Seems to me like you truly nag a lot. Seriously though, accusations of infidelity are not stuff for careless banter. Don't throw them at someone and expect them not to get defensive...even if they are truly not cheating on you. Vaginal thrush is an infection a lot of ladies have now and then...some more frequently than others. She may have felt embarrassed by your decison to confront her about the cream hence her aggressive retort. Take it easy on your woman. Trust her until she gives you a concrete reason not to. Also try and stop the "pack and go" threat. No woman will be happy to hear her husband say that to her because it tells her that her place in your life is not secure. Most women don't handle insecurity too well. You need to make her realise that you are in it for the long haul and all you are doing is trying to make her a better person. It will take a lot of work but if you keep at it, you will succeed. Good luck! 3 Likes |
Crime / Re: A 'Lady' I Sent My Full Nude Picture On Facebook Is Blackmailing Me! by Reptyle(m): 1:02pm On Jan 28, 2020 |
BOYLOVABLE1: First of all, forget all that "She" talk. You have been gisting and sharing nudes with a man like you. The nudes "she" shared with you are probably some random pictures gotten off the internet. You have done the right thing by blocking the fraudster. Now just wait. The person's next move will determine your own next move. Whatever you do however, DO NOT SUCCUMB TO A BLACKMAILER. If the person makes contact again perhaps asking for money or anything like that, ask for the person's account details. It could prove a very useful way of tracking the person if necessary. If you are asked for a personal face to face meeting, do not go alone. Swallow your pride and go to the police. Do not be afraid. You made a mistake but you did not commit any crime. Goodluck! 1 Like |

agemmy113: You did nothing wrong in paying her a compliment. But perhaps she isn't used to receiving compliments. I know there are some women I compliment even in my office and instead of saying a simple "thank you" what you get is a frown and a rude "meaning what" response. For those ones I simply apologise and know never to compliment them again in the future. Your madam may be dealing with certain insecurities about her looks. If she kicks up a fuss when she returns, stay calm and tell her you meant no disrespect. Then go ahead and apologise and keep it strictly business going forward. By the way, do not say anything unless she confronts you directly so you don't end up putting the snitchy househelp in trouble. 3 Likes |

Dsimple: So you really think it takes a few days to write a judgement that takes an average of 10 hours to read? Not so my brother. Courts aren't influenced by "outcries". Courts base judgement on arguments and evidences presented before them. Sometimes courts deliver judgements that may be seen as unpopular. But the law is the law. Courts operate by the legal doctrine Fīat jūstitia ruat cælum. |
