5MINUTES
Five minutes, to some,is such a short time to ignore. To others ,it matters less .But the truth still remains that it is the most vital part of our existence here on earth. In five minutes,you can make/take a decision that will either make or mar your life.Some great men of the past have been brought to their knees by decisions taken within such short period.Others,on the other hand, have taken decisions that have catapulted them to enviable heights in five minutes.I will give you instances.
Rev.Bethel Nwanebu of Assemblies of God District in Owerri prayed one prayer long time ago.He asked God to make him an international preacher and God answered that prayer but decided to make him pass a five minutes test.He got an invitation to preach at a revival in South Africa organised by a Nigerian pastor based there in the south.When he got there,the man of God that invited him asked him if he would like to be lodged in a hotel or stay with him in his flat.Bethel saw it as economically wise to stay with him in his flat since he is not married.So when they got to the flat,Bethel found out that the man of God rented two rooms out:one to a Ghanaian worker and the other to a female undergraduate who is squatting with her friend.Remember that they are sharing one toilet and one bathroom.
The girl squatting with her friend had her script well plotted that she wanted to bring down the man of God.So,one day,the man of God who invited Bethel left so early to return few hours latter so that that they would go to the revival ground together.Unknown to Bethel,he was in the whole flat all alone with that girl who has refused to go to school with her friend with the pretext that she was sick.The Ghanaian worker has already gone to work.So Rev.Bethel,got up,tied his towel and dashed to the bathroom before his friend would come back.The students'room is just opposite the the bathroom and when he got there,the girl who had stayed back greeted him and he responded.He asked her why she didn’t go to school to which she replied that the is sick. He left her afterwards and went to the bathroom.when he got there,he remembered that he forgot his toothbrush in the room and went to get it.When he got back to the bathroom,he remembered that the door is totally shut and he didn’t shut it while rushing out to get the toothbrush.
He wanted to go in but decided to knock to remove all iota of doubt.He knocked up to four times but no one responded so he opened and went it.As soon as he was in,he saw a girl stark naked.She grabbed him and he wrestled it out with her.He overpowered her and ran to the lift because their flat is on the seventh floor and it brought him down.While down,he told God;″if i fail you here in south Africa,what will happen when i get to America?″There he was until his friend came back.The girl and her room mate were later given quite notice.Rev.Bethel made the right decision within 5minutes minues and today,he has valid residential passports to US,UK,Singapore and a host of other nations stretching to 5years and renewable. One begins to wonder what could have become of him had he made the wrong choice while in South Africa. That was not the case of Mr Bakker,the American televangelist.(to be continued in the next piece)
