odave: Hmmm, I joined nairaland in 2007, those are glorious days of nairaland land to be honest. You hardly see topics like 'see the cup bobrisky used to drink tea yesterday' you hardly see all those Match fixing mofos here, you hardly see some biased mods, political mods, tribal mods and nuisance banning you anyhow and hiding you comments. You hardly hear of afonja or Igbos. Everyone will be eager to learn something new.
Had business deal with lots of good nairalanders then but today don't even try to do any business on nairaland or else sorry is your case. When having a Nokia e63 or e71 was equal to having s9 today. And different kinds of free browsing proxies to enjoy... |

YeebozNemesis: The Government can decide to take over the land and ask Obasanjo to remove his library from there.
The land on both stretches of that road belongs to the Government and only public structures are there. Federal High Court behind, Stadium ahead, Federal Sars across the road. Yes burn down the house to search for a mouse... Well done o |

Politics › The Possibility Of A One Party System - A Must See by respect80(op): 6:28am On Mar 07, 2019 |
respect80: One party system - the dimension we've failed to look from. From all indications, ranging from shifting of blames to opposition, the selective fight against corruption, the level of compromise in the judiciary system, intolerance to oppositions at the legislative arm of government, the use of security agencies for dirty jobs in elections, INEC's insincerity in their conduct of elections, threat to true journalism etc, it can be said that APC is on the brinks of creating a one party system or something very close to that. There's no need to write much, but let's watch out for the outcomes of the gubernatorial and states houses of assembly elections by weekend. In a democratic society, it is imperative for the role of opposition to be allowed to thrive and serve as demurral to the ruling government. For those praying for PDP and all other opposition parties to crumble completely, just remember that once a one party system society is actualized, the common man will have his seat at the receiving end. Employment into public sectors will be completely based on who you know in the government, so will admission into higher institutions, awards of scholarships, success in business etc be based on on who your godfather is in the government. Go ahead and insult me with your keyboard, but I have said what I want to say. Moreover, it takes a broad mind to think and see the dimension things are taking, so I won't blame you if you don't share my views. There should be no room for a one party system in Nigeria because Nigeria is to big for it... And, don't tell me that PDP was like that because we didn't bring APC to repeat PDP's mistakes, but to rather correct them for good. |
