Neoteny7:

7,300 Tsar Bomba warheads will completely wipe off the entire US from the blast alone.

That's roughly 438,000 megatons.

Assuming each of Russia's approximately 5,800 warheards have a 10-megaton yield, that's 58,000 MT, or more than 10% of the yield required to destroy the US landmass.

But why would Russia deploy all its nukes to destroy physical landmass when they can just nuke densely populated cities, industrial complexes, dams, power grids, water reservoirs, national and state capitals, and economic structures? That's why they're called "strategic" nukes.

So 58,000MT is more than enough physical destructive power to completely crumble the US, while tsunamis and nuclear fallout will ensure the complete termination of the rest of the population.
None of Russia and USA can wipe out the entirety of each country with a simultaneous or whatever you want to call it Single Strike. They don't have such capability.

Again, both countries have less than 2k Active Warheads.
I don't know why some of you are always intrigued by the mention/sight of 5,000 - 6,000.
Nuclear warfare is not shooting AR-15 rifle

only few people read the article..
let me summarize it for you guys.

Navy accused tompolo boys for trying to snatch Engine and ended up escorting stolen crude and was released after a staff of tompolo company came and identified there staff.

TOMPOLO IS EQUALLY ACCUSING NAVY FOR GUIDING A STOLEN CRUDE IN A WOODEN VESSEL WHICH WAS INTERCEPTED BY HIS MEN. BUT THE OWNER OF THE BOAT ESCAPED AND CALLED NAVY THAT'S IN DAGOTE COMPANY TO COME TO HIS RESCUE. WHICH THEY DID AND ALLOWED THE STOLEN CRUDE TO BE TAKEN AWAY..

NOW WHO DO WE BELIEVE?
God bless you man.

Nairaland is largely made up of really strange people.
All the comments on the first page reacted only to the headline, and that makes it even more pathetic. How can a large group of people not read news that's not more than 2 minutes before anchoring their opinions from left right centre.

For the fact that the Navy personnel came from Dangote refinery to set free the wooden vessel, the story given by the TANTITA supervisor is more believable.
There are many cases of Nigeria Navy setting free arrested crude thieves in the past one year so this might just be an addition to the long list

Same thing Obidients yabbed Desmond Elliot for this year even though he has donated more transformers as a state assembly member.
It is clearly written that it is 5 not 2.

Quote the right thing while submitting your opinion

Donating a transformer that would assist a community that is suffering from lack of electricity perhaps as a result of the absence of adequate power infrastructure.
What is not good in that kind of governance?

well some of you are probably, below 30 so you didn't experience, military regime, because if you do you not talk like this, check your history or Google how Nigeria was before military regime, especially before 1984 buhari took over, see in military regime just know you don't vote your leader o, they appoint to you who ever they like, and you don't argue with them,if you questions their leadership style, the kill the person, nobody can do anything about it o,no courts of justice o,
Every player in the military regime in Nigeria is a millionaire today till date, they all crumble Nigeria economy to their individual pucket, the only man who didn't steal public money
is buhari, that is why he came back as civilians and crumble Nigeria economy, what he fail to do 1984,in military regime you can't carry some hair style o or girl wearing trousers hmm
You guys don know any thing poverty was the other of the day you can't insult the president o even on social media,no freedom
While all the things you stated above is generally true about military regime especially in Nigeria, the country is still suffering all of them under civilian rule even on a larger scale.
Poverty and strife is the order of the day and there is open stealing in government which ordinary people like you and I can't do anything about.
About the freedom of expression or insulting somebody, it is still the same the populace is suffering. Anybody that the president decide to deal with today for insulting him, nobody can do anything about it just like how it is obtainable under military rule.
Is there any law that the Nigeria government respect? The Nigeria government since 1999 has assumed the position of being the law onto itself.
When you juxtapose military governments in Nigeria with their civilian counterparts, the military is even miles ahead of the civilians in terms of national development despite their corruption. There is hardly any national infrastructure in Nigeria today that you can point to that was not built under the military. The civilians are only doing refurbishment...there is hardly anything of note that they have done. Though we don't wish for military rule because the military should never have any business with running government. Demonizing them in comparison to the crooked civilians we have in government is what I will never stand in support of.

However, I disagree with you that Buhari came back as a civilian president to wreck the country which he was unable to do in 1984. Buhari was a failure in 1984, and a failure in 2015.

If you fail to update, you can't load any unit to your meter after the deadline of November 2024.

While some meters can be updated without physical touch. It seems the metres that need physical touch for update are the old ones.
The Unistar and Ziglasis meter and co are not only retrieved for upgrade. They are phasing them out for no good reason other than they are not reading consumption properly, so customers are advised to get new smart meters which may be at their own cost.

I suppose that's what is causing the friction

Romance / Re: True Or False : Men Don't Generally Like Women With Tattoos. by ReubenE(m): 2:05pm On Aug 23, 2023
Angelfrost:

Please, don't generalize.

Not every man likes their women boring and unadventurous.

Honestly, the only thing restricting men and women in Nigeria is just religion, not even tradition... Cos tattoos and body art are well within our culture as Africans.

Personally, I will never put tattoos on my person (I like my body unadorned by ink), but I see nothing wrong in my wife getting one as long as it is decent, in moderation, and with meaningful messages or art.

You can't be associated closely to me with demonic or twisted arts or wordings on your body... No way.
Most people not recognizing or refusing to acknowledge that body art or tattooing is part of culture as Africans is really amusing.
Most people that express strong opinions against tattoos even on this thread do so because of religious beliefs/influence which they may not want to accept.

There was hardly any aged woman in where I come from, especially in the late 90s that I did not see with body art/tattoo, though not as elaborate as the ones of today.
Ijaw women drew tattoos on their arm, especially their abdomen and it was a beautiful sight to behold.
Most tattooed ladies these days living a wayward lifestyle does not mean tattooing is a mark of irresponsibility.

Being irresponsible and wayward is largely a thing of the mind and that is where it begins.

Where's Osho sexy?
Her tournament performance was just there because of her injury, she knows that too. She even played very few minutes by her standards. I will excuse Oshoala cause of her injury but our strikers/attackers were just not very effective in the tournament.

Oshoala was not fully fit, at least according to what she said in her interview, the reason she was coming in from the bench. None of the other strikers was able to rise to the occasion, the very reason the team was not very effective in the final third.
If our attack was as effective as the midfield and defense, Nigeria could have gone farther than round of 16.

Played well against Canada with zero goals, outplayed Ireland with Zero goals. Outplayed very good English team with zero goals in regular time. In all the above three matches, lot of chances were created.

Overall, it was a very good team performance and big improvement

There is nowhere in the article Kumuyi said that's what he heard from God. God did not tell him anything and he never claimed God did.

He is only establishing faith that things will be better since in his opinion, the people selected to work with the president are competent (again in his opinion).
What he said is nothing different from what politicians in the present government has been saying and every other Nigerian believing that things will be better. After all, that is the belief and ray of hope that is associated with every new administration in Nigeria; including that of Buhari.

God did not tell Kumuyi this message. He is only sharing his personal opinion and wish for Nigeria.

So many people finding it difficult to read and assimilate... So painful
You are right, judging from most comments.

However, their complaints serve the same purpose as Nigeria having 3 billion dollars as net reserve is preposterous.
What is really the gain in someone claiming his salary is 1 million naira when he is entitled to a payment of only 30 thousand naira at the end of the month.
The reality is that our foreign reserves is seriously depleted whether the gross is $37 billion. Since the net is $3 billion, the $37 billion is what we have but do not have.

Nigerians and spurious talks.

In same breath, you admit there is data that Nigeria has a 200 million population, then say you believe we are more than that.
Where is your data to show we are more than that?

Nigerians love claiming what is not there, especially with no evidence. They always discredit the data of other people then fail to provide their own to support their claim.
It is a Nigerian that will authoritatively address another in a public forum that "I am better/bigger than you" with no evidence.

I say again, chastise Christians when they misbehave and leave them out of this one as Christians are not the ones fighting Isese followers in Illorin.

The discourse is about Islam and its adherents fomenting trouble, criticize their barbaric behaviour in Illorin and leave no room for other interpretations. Where have you seen in Nigeria where Christians outwardly threaten other people with death that they should not practice their religion?
Face the topic squarely and criticize them Muslims alone.

You think say those ones get sense...

They just admitted there's no immediate need to increase pump price despite their claim of rise in the landing cost. They want to keep the price as it is according to Tinubu spokesman. It means they will pay subsidy to the marketers to calm down for now, that's if they've not been paying already.

I for one don't even believe in this subsidy removal because I have a strong reason to believe subsidy payment will resurface under a new name before December. With the report of temporary subsidy payment and the later denial, they are only testing the waters. The thieves are paying subsidy and it won't be long before they will be busted

While it is a noble idea to do whatever that is necessary to discourage military rule in the subregion, Nigeria government obsession with military action to solve Niger's internal problem at this time when Nigeria herself is gripped with strife and general hopelessness is ill advised.
ECOWAS can and should only put pressure on the junta to return power to a democratic rule in the shortest possible time as that's the only viable option. Negotiate for Bazoum's release so he can go and enjoy his loot in exile, maybe in Daura-Katsina as returning him to power is practically impossible given the odds.

Nigeria is presently grounded and the president seem not to fully understand what he is doing. Face your country that is near collapse.
All the people that are still clapping for this current government, I don't even understand whether they don't go out to work to earn a living or whether they are just buffoons. Inflation is suffocating almost everybody but the buffoons keep clapping so I am constrained to wonder if they don't go out there to work

There was a news on the front page here that; Nigerians over there are protesting against ECOWAS military inversion and that are happy over there.

So, this report negate the previous news.

But now that ECOWAS is adamant on invading, their happiness and safety they protested to protect is now at risk, hence their new request for evacuation

Seun, nlfpmod, mynd44. Always get the right info before hurry to post stuffs. Someone just clipped few seconds and claimed military action, haba.
You are the one reading the news content in isolation.

Firstly, the reader said "activate the ECOWAS standby force", emphasis on "activate" as there is a standby force already, like a quota of military personnel and equipment each member is obligated to contribute to enforce ECOWAS resolutions in war/conflict resolution.

Secondly, he said "order the deployment of the ECOWAS standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger", again emphasis on "order the deployment"

Now as a reader with a disabused mindset, what is difficult in understanding that the above is a declaration of war on Niger military authority. How does "deployment of the standby force into Niger to restore constitutional order" mean just "standby or half action" according to what you said.

ECOWAS can decide to dilly dally and delay the deployment to one week or one year, but what has been declared according to the resolution is the Use of Military Force to restore the former government. There is no other meaning
