Best Of USA press quotes! "Because this Nigerian has a voice that's tough to shake; its capacity for warmth and anger can turn misery on its head." Esquire "Asa weaves personal and political tales with fervor and smoke filled vocals, recalling Bob Marley on the reggae-infused "Jailer." Time Out New York "As a songwriter, she's revealed a startling depth and range, seamlessly taking on both the personal and the political - as well as an array of styles that ranges from acoustic folk-pop to reggae-tinged r&b." National Geographic Music "Asa has a politically conscious yet sweet sounding vocal presentation that with the help of her dreadlocks and guitar is exceptionally reminiscent of Bob Marley." Huffington Post "The tenor of her lyrics is personal, with general messages of social benevolence: war is destructive, her mother is beautiful, God is great, and can lovers be trusted? Asa is the kind of thing I imagine I'm reading about when I see a reviewer refer to the album they're reviewing as a "gem."
