This is an idea that I just thought of and it adds flesh to this belief system that I've adopted: Suffering isn't hardwork. The morality of continued hardwork is the morality of slaves

Our forefathers communicated with inks and paper because that's what was made available to them at that time and I believe it'll be a shame for their descendants to continue that dinosaur technology in this current age.

I'm of the opinion that nairaland should have a voice note option, especially for credible account. How the moderators of nairaland determine if an account is credible or not is what I leave to their experience and administration. They've come a long way as a platform and I trust that they are in the best capacity to know what's okay for them and their thousands of users.

And on second thoughts, they could decide to make this functionality available to all users, provided each user can streamline the contents they'd love to pay attention to.

As humans , we need each other and ourselves...to genuinely care for others ehule caring for ourselves, because we can't give what we don't have. How can we attempt to give care to others when we don't even care for ourselves.

If one feels their purpose in life is to be a painter, then their happiness comes when they begin to master the art of using 1000 different colors to paint, instead of just stagnating at using 10 colors. The stagnation was what caused the void in their life, amongst others, that we most times refer to as depression. Funny enough, the medical industry has a drug for depression. You're quite lucky you know, not having money issues like most of us have. You're one step to finding an activity that you could do that gives you happiness, and not something you do because you need to hustle money for food

Ask yourself, "what's are those activities that i liked while growing that my peer groups and parents told me won't generate money to me?"

What if you could find happiness doing such activities? Those activities that are productive to you and grows you, but you don't do because of a paycheck. That's a Gspot of life, you know

A world where money is abolished because people have begun to understand that they need what money can buy and not necessarily the money itself

Suffering isn't hardwork. Most of what we put ourselves through, in quest for life's purpose aren't really necessary, you know.
We have to look inwards to realize this truth.

Some find purpose in their work—because they know how important it is to humanity, while others find friction. But not just because their inner conscience whispers this truth...

There's a lot I could pour concerning this topic. This is a modified comment as the previous one was a total drift and I apologize for that. It's been a while since my last reply. I hope you're feeling okay

From what I re-read, it seems you find purpose in the service you render through your job, but there's a friction because you're not doing it yourself but instead outsourcing it.
I seem to understand.

You need to look inwards and ask yourself why you feel sad.
Emotions are how our unseen self communicate to us. Alphabets are for our seen self. There's a difference between suffering and pain. Pain is could be from stab, a slap or a blow, but suffering is we getting offended, feeling guilty or unworthy of what we have or triggered by other people reaction or treatment to us. Pain is mostly external, sufferings are internal... mental. We're the cause of our suffering

The work-leisure dilemma, apart from what my post touched on, goes deeper.
You work to afford the life you want, but after working, 3 things happen:

1) Your 9-5 Monday to Fridays doesn't allow you the comfort of this enjoyment—i know this doesn't apply to you as a freelancer..
With the 2 days left, people become tooooooooo logical and calculative on whom they spend their time with. This should be a good thing if people had the ability to judge correctly.

2) The money so much lose value via inflation that you have to keep working multiple jobs to afford the life you think you want, thereby giving you limited time for your leisure

3) Technology is improving but the work load is still equal to or greater than what it was, even before innovation like AI, because companies look at profit before societal impact of overworking.

If a factory were manually making 8 pins in 8 hours, with technological improvement, shouldn't 10-16 pins be made under less than 8 hours? It's technology not regression-ology. It's meant to improve work. So why do we still work 8hrs jobs?

With technology growth, shouldn't a 4 hr Monday to Friday work day be encouraged or a Monday to Thursday 8hrs work day.

9-5 captures the time the sun makes us active. 5-9 is the time night calls us to rest. Some activities cannot be fitted into that time frame.

Humans don't really like unnecessary work. I'm in a factory typing this and I'm not thinking of how sweetscenting the smell of the cartoon that I fold to put the product is. I'm thinking of payday. Hahahahaha

My life is on hold because I don't have the money to live it. There are books that I love to read but I cannot afford. Zuby77 there and back in time, the unseen hand...lots of nairaland stories etc
So much that I feel guilty sometimes whenever I do read some that the authors complete here, because shouldn't I be using this time to work for money

I've found that to counteract that guilt, shameless is necessary to be cultivated in me.

The human mind is looking for the purpose of why we are here on earth in the first place. It cannot be to work these needless jobs because they were never to have been created in the first place. Like do you grab? The jobs should not be, so everyone working in it instinctively know that they're wasting their time. It's just like the fight against slavery. Slaves instinctively knew that slavery wasn't meant to be so. We were created in truth, from truth, so we instinctively know truth
That feeling of powerlessness to not be able to do something about where we find ourselves without consequences we are limited to imagining makes us sad.

With context, hustle culture is a scam, and competition is abnormal. Davido is one unique singer, while wizkid is another unique singer. Comparing them leads to sadness. Also, show organisers buy 3 cups for the first, second and third runner up. There are abundance of cups and trophies in the market. Why buy just 3? To make people hustle under the illusion that the trophy resources are limited. Hope you see

So hustle culture is a scam. The life we want to live comes first above any hustle whatsoever. Some find such life in their hustle, while others don't. Probably you're yet to believe that, hence the friction you feel for living in a life without too much hustle. Knowing the truth supports your will to act in it without feeling guilty or ashamed.

It's like pick-up artists. They know that all these fine girls around are dying to be approached, so they have the courage to walk up to them

I have always imagined these in my mind, especially the leisure paradox but I don't really know how to put it. It really interesting you had the time to make research and come with this. I was locked in this paradox. I was a freelance graphic designer making over $500 a week from freelancing. However, I was busy, I found a purpose. At some point I started rejecting job offers just because it was too much work load.

After a while, I go people working with me. I outsourced over 80% of my job and earned more. I still found purpose. But everything lost it meaning when I started outsourcing 100% of my jobs. Now I got people who would do it better than I could. I charged more for a top-notch delivery. Although After some .months I lost purpose. It felt like I was wasting my time. I felt wasteful, not productive and at some point depressed.

The human mind is not fighting to die poor but to keep this euphoria of being hardworking while you hope to break the threshold of poverty.

A private school teacher that earned less than the minimum wage let say 30k feels he is hardworking. But in the real sense, he is too busy working and not thinking how to earn more because at some point he is busy and not a lazy man.

If unconditional love means expressing love to others or to yourself, without expecting anything in return, THEN the best set of people to practice your unconditional love of giving are towards stingy people or people who find it difficult to say a "thank you" to you for the help you rendered to them.

The insight that i've learnt of recent is that the joy on the face of a person you've helped should be enough reward for you.

The best set of people to express your unconditional love of non-sexual attention to, especially as a man, are physically non-attractive ladies, or beautiful girls who are in very serious relationships with other men.

If you, as a man, can still love a physically attractive girl who is in a very serious relationship with another man, with no expectation of a thank-you-sex from her as a payment for the "unconditional love" you just expressed towards her, then that is your growth.

Jesus hinted that love shouldn't be seen as a deposit box, where you cash out naira Y just because you deposited naira Y. It takes a wise person to love and keep loving despite the hate being thrown at such a person for loving.

Once again, love isn't just an action word. It's also a quality word: the quality we apply while carrying out our actions. This means that saying a "Yes" to all request asked of us doesn't make us a loving person. We can also apply decency while saying a "No".

If my mother was diabetic, and she asked me to help her purchase sugar to drink her tea, I'll politely tell her a "No". This my action and the decency at which I carried it out also makes me a loving human being

The opposite of Happiness is Depression.

Happiness doesn't only come from doing happy activities. It surprisingly also comes when you stop the things that hurt you.

With the insights from this post, it seems the giants created by God and the ones formed through the intercourse between the watchers and the daughters of men are quite different.

If so, was there ever a war or disagreement between these different breeds of giants?
Because from your post, it seems the offspring of the watchers were quite violent.

Secondly, you once wrote that Lucifer fell because he thought that God the creator was too merciful to his creation through reincarnation, amongst other forms of love he expressed to us, and this led Lucifer, together with fellow angels from the divine to create the temptation principle as we know it.
But then I'm surprised that this temptation principle seem to have made the watchers aware of the choice to have intercourse with the daughters of men.

The watchers are angels, while we're humans. Does Lucifer temptation principle affect just mortals like you and I, or could there be there more to it?

Also, this is me assuming that Lucifer's fall came first, before that of the watchers.

Saying "Yes" to a demand isn't only the way one can express love towards others or themselves.

One can also say "No" lovingly.

My "No" reply doesn't mean I don't love her. Infact, it signifies that I actually do love her.

Love, as I'm beginning to learn, isn't just an action word. It's an adverb. The quality at which we express our actions.

Health Workers deserve health insurance too (BAO, EKSUTH silent cry for help)

I recently got discharged from a surgery carried out on me at EKSUTH, which as a corper that I currently am, is covered under NHIS.

During the short time I spent there (3 days at most), I realized that hospitals are a place of both despair and hope.

"Despair" in the sense that one's seemingly little case might turn out worse. Imagine being told as a young person, that one of your legs has to be cut off to save your life

and "Hope" in the sense that one is likely to leave a hospital in a better physical condition than when they were admitted

But the conditions behind a patient's level of hope and despair on their condition solely depends on the people treating them, which is where the nurses and doctors fall in.

While I don't know for a fact if the surgeons/doctors are covered under NHIS, I do know for a fact that the nurses aren't!
(and mind you, nurses aren't only female. Males can be nurses too)

This insight I gained in the most surprising of ways, by being called, in a playful manner by one of the nurses "all these NHIS people sef..."

The question that immediately followed was "aren't you covered under NHIS too?"

and the female nurse reply was, and I paraphrase, "If i fall sick today, I'll pay for it like everyone else. NHIS will not pay anything for me"
This nurse reply really cracked something in me. I felt my hurt, and hers

My thoughts then drifted to a conversation I overheard between two nurses where one of the nurse complained about suffering an upper respiratory tract infection. Then it dawned on me: The treatment for this nurse respiratory infection, which was likely contacted by being in a room filled with mostly sick people, wasn't covered under insurance. She has to pay from her pocket. All because of what? She wrongly risked her life by becoming a nurse dedicated to treating sick people?

Charity begins at home. Anything built on a weak foundation collapses in time. In my opinion, health workers deserve a special health insurance package that keeps them committed to their job of saving lives. If there's contempt towards patients under health insurance or a disunity between the health workers and the patient all because the health workers feels left out to fend for themselves, this could compromise the quality of health care services being rendered by the health workers. The human emotions get fickle sometimes.

A Big shout out to the Federal Government of Nigeria for creating a robust health insurance package for corpers. It really helped me a lot.

They repress the positive emotion and also the negative emotion, their highs and their lows. If this happens for long, it leads to an uncomfortable feeling in them that they just can't pinpoint.

Some men suffer heartbreak and they feel the tears rushing but they choose not to cry because 'men don't cry'
They've refused to express their emotions and it builds up in them leasing to negative consequences.

I think DNA tests should be automatic to newly delivered babies. If society can be rewired in such a way that there shouldn't be a need for payment for DNA tests.

I want to be in a place where people are contented with their possession and find dignity in the work of their hands, where need be, to buy the possession they seek, and not an expensive round the clock CCTV to protect myself from theft.

I want to be in a place where people recognize the value and beauty of human lives, and not necessarily be rich to be able to afford a bullet proof SUV

I want to be able to accept gifts with grace and wisdom, and not work round the clock to be a person who can afford to give himself gifts.

I wish I knew the root cause of my sickness and the herbs to use to treat these sickness, and not be an employee in a busy organisation that doesn't give me the grace of time to spend on myself and my family, but enables me the privilege of a robust health insurance scheme.

By understanding that what you seek might be the things that money can buy and not the money itself, your need to work three jobs slowly drops.

I don't seek to be rich to be able to afford a SAN or to have the armed forces at my beck and call. I just need to go to a place where people recognize the need for healthy laws that gears their actions towards positivity not just for themselves, but for others.
With this information, I can migrate to a country where this imagination can be a reality, and work even a low paying job that I find passion in.

If I knew how to communicate with animals, I can easily ask them what they eat that could make them increase their body meat and the frequency at which they have sex and reproduce (twins, triplet... etc)
I don't need to save money for an expensive animal feed or a vet doctor.

The beauty of Life lies in its simplicity

Concerning this case of sexual or romantic relationships, I believe the purpose of online communication is to make it offline/physical.

Physical communication reveals a lot that talking to a person behind a screen may not.

Social media is supposed to bring is close to our distant loved ones. The gift can be a curse too, depending on its wielder

Machine and automation taking over jobs should be a good thing.

A family man should be able to come back home and tell his wife "Honey, I finally lost my job!"

Unemployment crisis is bound to happen. It should be society's goal to rid ourselves of suffering in the form of continued hardwork just so we cannot be idle and give ourselves 'a purpose '

1) Some leaders (Doctors, Forcemen etc) are insecure mostly because they know they're incompetent in their field of study, so they try cover up this defect with pride (by being sadistic, or being too nice to everyone without boundaries)

2) Most employees and employers are sad. There's that big emptiness/void we think a job promotion or money is going to fill, but alas, we find out our view isn't aligned with reality

3) People work jobs they hate to buy things they don't like to impress people they don't know.

Most of the people we look up to or call our role model, were most of the time forced into the profession they're in by their parents or friend group. You can never see or measure a person sadness, or vulnerabilities, especially when that person has chosen to use pride to cover up

I meet new people and we get talking and I ask them
"what course did you study"

They reply "Public Health"

Then I tell them something like, "This seems like a very responsible position, being in charge of the health of people who trust you with their health. You're comfortable with this kind of huge responsibility?"

Then they say "errmmmm"

Then I proceed " who's the most richest richhheeest billionaire you know of"
They tell me Mr X

then I say " if I was billionaire X, i ask you to choose a course that you'd love to study, regardless if it's a foreign course that can only be studied abroad, and also regardless of how much it'll be, what course would you choose to study?

Then they tell me " Nursing"


Then I rephrase " There really isn't any nobility in continued hardwork. Most people see suffering as hardwork. Imagine you make all the money in the world and all the richest people in the world look up to you, what then would you do when you're not working for money?"

Then the revelation continues...

You can really know that people aren't happy...go find out yourself and see. Try this exercise for yourself and you'll begin to understand that when people aren't truly happy by being in field or professions they don't like, then sadness creeps in and it grows to depression

I was talking about a scenario whereby 'internet engineers' create algorithms to power advertisements to appeal to the emotions for internet users so that they can be driven to buy what they necessarily do not need


Example: A new model of an iphone or a luxury piece of gadget is released and there's advertisment to make people aware of it. But the twist is that iphone company could have easily added the new functionality to a wholesome model, instead of sabotaging models of their phones, just so internet engineers can work to create colorful advertising
