True giving doesn't require reciprocity. You could, but you have a choice not to. The giver and the receiver are equal The giver needs the receiver as much as the receiver needs the giver. Suffering arises when we see a giver as higher than a receiver, that's why people fight to be givers, instead of learning to be humble receivers, so they can become better givers. It's a cycle. |
Boy o boy If I could like your comment a million times Imagine how important the sun is: Photosynthesis for plants, vitamin for humans, makes us active, as well as lots of things science don't really know Now Imagine the sun decided it's not getting enough thank you from humans because some of us use sunscreens and umbrella and live in houses with ACs Imagine if the SUN REVOLTS! "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, Humans!! You people are not appreciative enough...after everything I keep doing for you" Now Imagine if we humans decide to really appreciate the sun? Now think about this carefully: What can we as humans do to really say 'thank you to the sun' Now ask yourself, you think the sun really really wants that? https://www.nairaland.com/8601559/parable-unforgiving-servant-insight One of the best way to give without attachment that I've found is to give what you can afford to lose. The money you can afford to lose. The trust you can afford to lose...and so on The time that you can afford to lose If you give more than you can really afford to lose, it creates expectations which then leads to attachments and pain. Lol. The error or prayer is believing that it's a be all, end all. That's how Christians fit square pegs in round holes. I've read the post: it's all geared to make you come to church so that you can learn how to pray and script powerful prayer points, while dedicating your time, brain and money in form of offering and tithe" ![]() In all, apply wisdom. Tell someone that Mary wasn't a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus and you'll be given the most scornful look. Continued Reverseng (paraphrase): Is it possible to crack this loop Gemini: Yes, it is entirely possible to shift your belief system, though it is less like "flipping a switch" and more like slowly recalibrating an instrument. Because your beliefs act as the filter for your perception, changing them requires both an intellectual decision and a consistent practice of observation. The Drill: Identify one "absolute truth" you hold about people or the world (e.g., "People only care about themselves" . Treat this belief as a "law" that is incomplete. The Practice: Actively hunt for the "missing piece." If you believe people are selfish, intentionally look for evidence of selflessness. You don't have to believe the new evidence right away—just acknowledge it as an "exception" to your rule. The Shift: Once you find enough "exceptions," your brain can no longer maintain the old belief as an "absolute." The belief system begins to crack and eventually reorganizes itself to account for the new complexity. Everyone hold a negative bias against Hausas until they're in the same room with Dangote or he's about to sign a contract to them ![]() ***Even Barry Allen would get jealous at he fast their bias will flip*** The core secret is this: You don't need to find a "better" belief system to replace your old one. You just need to realize that the filter is not the world. Once you recognize that your beliefs are just "tools" rather than "laws," you become free to put down the hammer and pick up whatever is actually needed for the task at hand. Reverseng: So you're saying that it's okay to have biases about the world? "Once you recognize that your beliefs are just "tools" rather than "laws," you become free to put down the hammer and pick up whatever is actually needed for the task at hand" How do I discern when to have a bias and when not to? Gemini: The "Safety vs. Truth" Test 1) Ask yourself: Is the goal of this bias to keep me alive, or to keep my ego comfortable from seeking the truth? When to have a bias (Survival/Functional): If you are in a lion's den, walking down a dangerous alley at night, or managing high-risk financial capital, you need a bias. This is your "survival tool." You assume the lion is dangerous because that bias protects your life. This is not a failure of philosophy; it is the intelligent application of pattern recognition. When to drop the bias (Conceptual/Relational): If you are trying to understand a person, a new idea, or the nature of existence, a bias is a dead weight. If you assume your spouse is "lazy," or that a specific group of people is "bad," you are no longer protecting yourself; you are protecting your own comfort by avoiding the effort of true observation. 2) The "Cost of Being Wrong" Test Ask yourself: What happens if my bias is incorrect? Low Cost of Being Wrong: If you are wrong about the lion, you lose your life. Therefore, the "bias" is a necessary investment. High Cost of Being Wrong: If you are wrong about a person’s character or a piece of new information, you lose the truth. You close a door to a potential connection, a new business strategy, or a profound realization. In these cases, your bias is acting like a hammer that destroys the very thing you are trying to study. 3) The "Calibration" Test (Applying your text's philosophy) Your text argues that if you don't have the question, the answer will breeze past you. Use this to discern your bias: If you have already "found" the answer: You have a fixed belief. If you enter a situation already knowing exactly what everyone is—you have become a "finder," and you are closed. Drop the bias here. If you are "seeking" the answer: You are in a state of open inquiry. You are observing. You are not holding a hammer; you are holding a magnifying glass. Keep the bias out of the room here. The Bottom Line: You don't need to be "neutral" at all times—that’s humanly impossible. Instead, strive to be conscious of your tools. When you pick up a bias, say to yourself: "I am putting on my 'survival goggles' because I am in a dangerous place." When you finish the task, take them off. The danger of your "hammer" is that you forget you are holding it, and eventually, you start carrying it to your dinner table, to your relationships, and even into your own mind. Does this help you see that the goal isn't to be "bias-free," but to be "bias-flexible"? |
Yes. Love is God's will, but definitely not that of those who edited the Bible. How can sweet marriage be God's will when it was falsely written that he commanded the Israelites to go and kill the husbands and children of other women and then force these 'conquered' women into marriage. How can these women be comfortable in marriages with their husband and children killers? How can sweet marriage be God's will when it was also falsely written that women were an afterthought creation of God? That women were created because Adam was lonely and bored in the garden of Eden so a helper was created from the bone of Adam's bone? How's sweet marriage going to be possible when men view women as less of a human being or an almost forgotten creature, that was created to be men's slave. Sit and listen to the conversation of Nigerian Christian men when they talk about their wives...it reeks of superiority and their insecurities as a man... urrrgghhh Thirdly, how's sweet marriage going to be possible when divorce is not in the equation? Even those women caught in the war in Ukraine were allowed to leave the physical country that they were conceived in, in the bid to preserve their life, talkless of a marriage with no physical barrier except the one that the false teachings of religion creates. This was how that popular female gospel artist died... because of the false teachings of the church. Those of you who propagate these false teachings will not escape too, until you cultivate common sense and question the nonsense of confused, dead and living but proud leaders around you |
One who has a hammer is likely to see all his problem as nails. You attempt to ask AI if a text/picture was generated with AI, hoping for your answer to be "No AI" AI will only categorise your input as "more AI" or "less AI" -- there'd be nothing like "No AI" because AI is all that AI can see. A cheating wife will only see her husband as "less of a cheat" or more of a cheat". There's "No cheat" in her dictionary because "Cheat" is what she is. This applies to men who see all women as "hoe": less of a hoe or more of One who has violent tendencies will even seek to use violence to create peace. Water will take the shape of its container, and will also take the color of its container. Yes, seeing is believing, but it goes both ways: "believing is seeing" too Hence the saying "Seek (believe) and you shall find (see)" and not "Find and you shall seek" You look for it and it's there, what you want it to be. If you are looking for it, it means that you didn't have it yet. For you to understand or appreciate an answer, you have to have had the question in mind. If you did not have the question, the answer will breeze past you. It's when you have the money and are ready to buy a red car that you like that you'll subconsciously begin to notice red cars around you I've always questioned how the Bible could teach that God will allow incest between cain and his sister up to a point before it became immoral, and also how it was taught that God forgot to create woman but didn't forgetting to create night or breathing-out. Until I discovered that Newton's third law is incomplete. Yes, I know. How does the incompleteness of Newton's law relate with a biblical story that happened decades before Newton was born? Now, you'll understand how having the question makes you susceptible to the answer. Action and reaction are not just equal and opposite. They’re simultaneous. Every action gives birth to its 'simultaneous' 'equal' reaction. You apply effort to make sound by speaking but you didn't apply any effort to make that sound fade out of your hearing. Taoist call this 'Effortless Effort' or 'Wu Wei' as I've talked about in one of my post. That's action and its "simultaneous" equal reaction at play. God created man and woman equally and simultaneously. Women were the simultaneous reaction, Men equal complement But God didn’t just create ‘man’ and ‘woman’. ‘Men’ and ‘Women’ were created. It was a pluralization error or biblical editors ![]() African men were created, same as African women, same as Japanese men and women, in their respective continents, which were created simultaneously. This truth corrects the false idea of an incestuous relationship from which humanity sprang. I believe that the Bible was a lie, so I was open to the truth which I got. It's a loop: You "believe to see", then "see to believe" which then leads to "believe to see" If you believe that the members of a particular tribe don't like you and are out to get you, you'll subconsciously present an attitude towards that particular tribe that'd make them not like you, because you view them as a threat. And on seeing that they don't like you, it'll reinforce your belief that you were right all along, even when that wasn't the case. To be continued.... Google's Gemini input on how to break this loop

God is real, same as Jesus. But there'd a twist: Jesus didn't come to die for the sins of the world, if not he would have committed suicide. Same way Charlie Kirk and Gandhi didn't come to die for the sins of the Americans and indians respectively UncleAyo: |
Lol That's a story, Yvngex It is a process. It wasn't about talking nicely or how to talk, what to say BUT it's about WHY did I need to talk to people nicely or WHY did I need to know how to talk to people? The Why behind an action is important, because it's comes with the will to act See it this way...I'll use addiction to try explain what I'm hinting at Addicts try to escape addiction by doing cold showers, press-up when the urge comes, changing environmentand all other type of activities But this is the question that put things in perspective: If I were to give that same addict a bottle of a poisonous substance to drink, would they put themselves through all those activities to resist the urge to drink sniper?! No! They won't. And this is me assuming that addict value their life, you know. Those who genuinely value life and want to live long don't do cold showers therapy or press-ups or other type of activities, just to resist the urge to drink sniper? Why? Because they value their life and genuinely want to live long This reason behind their 'Why' was so strong enough that it came with a follow-come WILL Once I understood that the value of my words and how I can uplift a persons life or bring them down, that was my first realization. I understood that my words to a person could either bring them out of their depression or drive them to commit suicide, and when the bible said "thou shall not kill" it didn't mean with swords and bombs, it also meant with words: driving a human being to depression by talking to them in dehumanizing ways. I DIDN'T WANT TO BE A MURDERER! There...! That's reason number 1 for all readers, I guess. I rather use my words to uplift and inspire people, you know ![]() Secondly, I understood that the ability to talk is a priviledge...not given to many. If I don't want to be born dumb or mute in my next life, I better be smart enough to know how to use my mouth.... These amongst other reasons ![]() Feel free to hit me up with your questions Yvngex: |
Death happens when you kill someone or when you kill. Each has their consequences that you can't escape from. If you're a soldier and your superiors give you an order to kill a pregnant woman. Failure to do so would mean being killed yourself. Would you do it? Now, Kullozone, say you refuse to kill the pregnant woman, does that make you a fool or does it make you look weak? If you kill that pregnant woman, you've also killed a part of yourself. So is it not better your superiors kill you than you kill that pregnant woman? Now Imagine after all said and done, you eventually got killed for disobedience, does that mean that you consented to your death through refusal to kill another!? Now use this lens to look at a particular religion that celebrates using the blood of an innocent man that refused to renounce his teachings. They said that since he didn't defend himself from getting killed, then it means that he came to die for their sins. Same way Charlie Kirk and Gandhi came to die for the sins of America and India respectively ![]() kullozone: |
Yes. I'm your guy for communication. I'm urrrgghhh... effortless flow and chills But seriously, communication is an effect and not a cause. When you see communication as a cause, you'll think reading books and pick-up lines will make you a better communicator...lolzz. With that, you'll fail to carry last. But when you begin to see communication as an effect of understanding your needs and desires and that of your communicatee, and taking the risk to be vulnerable with them to the right people, Don Juan, Neil Strauss, Mystery, Rollo...all will dwarf in comparison to you Sleep naturally happens at night. But that doesn't mean that you can't sleep in the afternoon or in the morning. It's just that night time naturally comes with that feeling of wanting to sleep and its arguably enjoyable around that time. I read books...I was on harddon thread years ago trying to cram pickup lines. I also read song of Solomon in the Bible to woo a girl in Secondly school...those time of writing love letters on paper ![]() It didn't work shii. I later became a misogynist trying to punish girls for my failure by reading ubunjas thread ![]() Lol. I was the man then...or so I thought. I was so depressed and repulsive to girls lol... I didn't even know why I was doing it then. It was mechanical and with great effort. The love in me wanted to effortlessly come out but I created a shield around myself with pride...because of what? I had to understand a lot to come out of that hole, and it's not like I'm at any ceiling yet. One love, nairaland. ![]() I hope my posts and threads here help. |

The root cause of Nigeria's insecurity is this: Nigeria is not independent. The 1960 and 1963 show was just a scam. Nigeria is like a company. Different foreign bodies/global elites manage it. And this was made possible by the elite foot soldiers called Nigerians Until you begin to see this for what it is, you might struggle with various news headlines. But still, we thank God for justice. The same way man cannot be separated from old age, is the same way man cannot be separated from the consequences of his actions. You're no longer a big man anymore. The sooner you begin to understand this, the better for you. Most of your plans might not work if you continue to think you can afford a champagne lifestyle on your coke budget. YOU'RE BROKE AND STRUGGLING NOW. Accept that and MANAGE YOURSELF You spend 1 million a month. Good for you. Enjoy your 7months of big man lifestyle. Hmm How do I put this without biting the hands of my potential helper ![]() I personally do not have a business idea per say that'll touch the lives of millions of people positively and directly and make them financially buoyant, in the conventional sense that most people might think. I want the things that money can buy, and not the money itself. This might sound philosophical but if I was offered a million naira per month paying job or citizenship to Australia or Europe, I'll choose the citizenship. Between a bullet proof car with armed escort and a community where they recognize the value of human lives, I'll choose to be in the community. I believe that innovations or ideas should be complemented with the positive philosophy to use and maintain, if not upgraded, so I write books and contents, here on nairaland and beyond. AI can be used to make work efficient, but some are already using it to scam others I'm also a graduate of Petroleum and Gas engineering with a passion for the financial markets. Inner Circle Trader style, amongst other 'hobbies' of mine If a business idea is what you seek, I have a friend of mine who has one that I think would be revolutionary. It's related to the transportation sector. His idea plans to cut out the needless "agberos" jobs in the transportation sector, as well as open space for transparency between passengers and bus drivers, as well as between investors and bus drivers. This amongst others. He is calling his innovation "Transy" He's a Nigerian by the name Kenny Bankejesu. You can find him active on LinkedIn and get a feel for what his idea stands for and can potentially contribute to society. That's if you're willing of course. ThunderFireAgba: |
The version of forgiveness taught by the church is flawed, both logically and morally That's because we mistake forgive for justice, because it's what we desperately want/wish for ourselves too. Grace doesn't mean paper money. 'The end' is to get the things that money can buy and 'the means' is money. But the goodnews is that money is not the only means. You could learn how to ask and receive gifts in humility, or find out if what you seek is really necessary in the first place, or make connections with people where you can receive directly without the exchange of money. These amongst other ways. Either I buy clothes with my money, or I receive from my friends who are willing to give. Either ways, I'll have new clothes. But to some, if they didn't work to get the money to buy their properties, it wouldn't really feel like theirs Ones destiny is not under attack when they're poor. Sometimes we need to be in the dark to appreciate the light that we once had but misused Breathe in>> Breathe out>> Breathe in Imagine you saying one destiny is under attack for breathing out. Sure, there are jazz, but we have to be accountable to know if we're the cause of our own problems or if they're caused by "destiny attackers" Imagine someone who is known to backbite/have a loose mouth in her office and is now being avoided by her fellow coworkers, now runs to church praying for "favor and grace" to be loved by her coworkers and boss, because she thinks she's under a spiritual attack. Lol. Until she learn to control her mouth, she'll suffer. One core purpose of our suffering is to sensitize us to see the needlessness of it. judewrites: |
But there'd also come a time when you'll be limited in carrying out justice yourself, and that's when you leave all that cannot be resolved to He which sees all and knows all: God They say "Heaven helps those who help themselves" but nobody stopped to ask "what about those who genuinely cannot help themselves, who'll help them?" For instance, here in Nigeria, I've unsuspectingly received torn/damaged money given to me by bus conductors as my balance ![]() I'd only realize this after the fact, and at that time, there was nothing I could do that I felt would be worth it. So I let it go and learned to thoroughly investigate the money being given to me by these bus conductors especially. That's me surrendering that which I cannot resolve myself to the spiritual laws which cannot age, neither can it be bribed or threatened. |
Yes. I come to understand that humans were not meant to be rich in the sense of chasing material wealth than needed. It's belief system led me to understand that I want the things that money can buy and not necessarily the money itself. I've written about this here on nairaland. I don't see the need to work multiple or rather stressful jobs to buy a bullet proof car when I'm in a community that understands the value of human lives Neither do I need a CCTV camera powered to 24/7 electricity to watch if I and my family are going to be mugged when I'm in a community that is content with what they have, amongst other reason hinged on contentment Right now, I value a citizenship to another continent. Money is not the only way to get this. I just might end up meeting someone who could do it for me. I don't have to necessarily do it myself and brag about it proudly I want food. Either I plant the food, I know someone who can give me food, or I have the money to afford food. You see, money is just one channel If someone could offer truth on how to make my body maximize any little food it eats, without harming me, my need to eat reduces. And also, my need to work for money to buy food reduces. xtianchris: |
Women are feminine, while men are masculine. To me, a woman is not supposed to engage in masculine jobs, because doing so will rob her of her femininity, in time. The failure of strong men in the society not only produces weak men, but it also produces masculine women who tend to want to look out for themselves. This, to me, is an abnormality. Men also have a hand in what's happening in our society. Even the so called alpha male that hate broke girls and non virgins, have probably had sex with a non virgin, or probably disvirgined a girl and dumped her. Yes, the monsters you made. Now live with them Girls also have a part to play by understanding what it means to be a true woman in creation and acting accordingly. This is a verrry long topic that I feel I won't do justice to, so I'll include a link to a friend who I learn from https://www.nairaland.com/6469894/when-woman-falls-land-falls if I had my way I'll restructure a working class society like this: Men would work a 5 hrs shift job, while women would work a 2.5hrs shift job and receive equal pay as the men. If a woman chooses to spend longer hours than the stipulated, she'll be free to do so. But this is a rough blueprint because children aren't encouraged to study what they like by either their parent, peer group or society, so they grow up learning what's not in line with their passion and struggling in their office to like what they hate but are just doing in order to get that monthly paycheck and survive. In a world where everyone are encouraged to learn what they have a passion in, people would be looking forward to work time, because it's the time to perform and feel alive. Science term this a "flow state". A DJ at heart can't experience this flow state when he's operating on a patient because he studied medicine to make his parents proud, neglecting his happiness. That's why you read stories of doctors forgetting scissors or wrist watches in their patients. Choiceless children become incompetent leaders tomorrow https://www.nairaland.com/8598916/chimamanda-adichie-case-choiceless-children Women are not suited for struggle or stress long term. Society should be made to take care of its women, and the women should be responsible and accountable enough to not misuse this endearment from the society |
