Concerning Jesus choosing his disciples, what was the purpose of choosing 12 men to teach his principles?

2) Jesus taught his disciples with the hopes that they would learn what he know and rise to the level he is. Does that mean the miracles that Jesus performed can be learned?

Can Jesus knowledge be learnt? Or can it only be taught by Jesus?

3) Concerning Israel being God's chosen people, was there a criteria for this?
Seems like a segregation of other tribes?

Did the whole of isreal swear themselves to God or did God pick them as his chosen tribe?
