Education / Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by revson: 10:15pm On Nov 21, 2019 |
analar: Try Simon Business School in New York. A friend of mine though from one of the big 4 got a 60% funding with a similar score. Summarily, if you have a stellar work experience with accelerated promotion, you should be fine. I, myself, I am having them as a backup as I am contemplating 2020 as well. Interestingly, I just got my offer letter today with 50% funding. 1 Like |

Romance / Re: Guys, Have You Ever Been Used And Dumped By A Lady? Share Your Experience by revson: 1:12pm On Aug 28, 2019 |
I am somewhat a newbie to the world of intimate relationship; and that is not because of my inability to hold down a lady but due to the fact that I am too scared to start one with the slew of bitter experiences both sexes are recounting daily. I have gone on a couple of dates but would hit off once it starts getting too serious I once had a lady I had interest in but because of this sort of "calculated loving and romance" that is sadly gaining ascendancy, I was too scared to continue with the " love talk" as the last thing I would want at this point is a "love and affection go bad"! Hopefully, I will join in the party someday as the boy is fast becoming a man and would need a queen to support him on the throne. My candid suggestion is that we should slow down on this "love with your brain propaganda" as it has done to the world of romance more harm than good, often times, making its victims insensitive and at worse, a monster! My humble submission! 43 Likes 2 Shares |
Romance / Re: How Some Guys Actually Encourage The Sense Of Entitlement Amongst Ladies by revson: 5:07pm On Jul 19, 2018 |
Well, each to his own. I think the guy followed the advice of a lot our Nairaland brothers, which is, " go and make money and you will see ladies grapple at your feet" but sadly, I guess he learnt the hard way that is not entirely true; as that alone couldn't fetch him the highly coveted result - A lady that adores and respects you. The key takeaway to on lookers is that some things in life can't be substituted; one of such is relationship skills. If that guy continue with that approach, at best what he can attract are leeches. Well, it is also possible the guy is the OP as guinea pig to learn the ropes Whichever, I pray God grant him the wisdom to play the game in ways that yield good results. 1 Like |

Romance / Re: Guys Which Do You Prefer Between These Classes Of Women? by revson: 2:13pm On Jun 22, 2018 |
For me, I would prefer 1. That is because it fits well with my personality. I am not very much the sex guy but I am very ambitious and analytical to a fault. To give background to my claim, all of my friends had multiple offers from multinational companies, were best graduating students, and of course, as expected were first class graduates; this makes it difficult for me to keep up with a dumb lady. I want someone that I could have an intelligent conversation with and who would nurture my kid to be competitive on a global stage. Marrying a homely Woman whose preoccupation revolves around daily chores and whose mind can't indicts in great matters is big turn off. More to that, children inherits bulk of their intelligence from their mother, so how would she pass down to my children, the intelligence she lacks. Just my thought and choice, I am not ready to be at loggerhead with anyone or have someone jump down my throat. 2 Likes |
Romance / Re: She Is Not Materialistic, She Is Just Above Your League by revson: 3:18pm On Jun 20, 2018 |
First and foremost, good afternoon friends. One thing which is disheartening but we have to live with " life is in phases and men are in sizes". Even though we try to shy away from the fact that your financial muscle is a defining variable in the success or otherwise of any love affair, it is. It oils the wheel of progress and make the relationship worth the while of parties. If whoever wants to build a particular have to count the cost, then whoever wants to start a relationship should do likewise. If as guy you desire ladies with certain attributes, it only make sense for you to ensure you have what it takes to handle such. For example, you are a jobless and you want to date a lady that is well read and used to a certain lifestyle that is way above your means, it might happen but it with long shot. . If you make her understand upfront about your financial strength and she is willing to take a haircut on her lifestyle, then it makes sense to shot your shots with every gusto and fervency in you. My opinion, if you desire a particular class of ladies, please work on ability before firing your arrows. Relationship should never precede your desire to take your career off the ground. All of those school dating builds up your EQ but do little good on your career, in most instances though. Lastly, just my opinion, you can critic but with logic. Regards |
Romance / Re: This Lady Made The First Move On Her Man, She's Now Married For Four Years by revson: 5:18pm On Jun 18, 2018 |
First and foremost, it seems Romancelanders make inferences based on underrepresented sample data. My input is simple; speak up when you see something that resonate well with your preference. The guy making the first move doesn't make it set in stone that the relationship will be heaven on earth. Whether the guy or the lady make the first move, the relationship is still expose to the risk of abuse and a heart break. Personally, I have been wooed by my female admirers, particularly when I was in school, and I still love and accord to them the respect they deserve as humans. More to that, saying that guys should always make the first move is against the tenets of feminism which most ladies are propagating with much gusto and fervency. Just my thoughts though, I am patient for yours with bated breath. 86 Likes 8 Shares |
Romance / Re: Ladies/ Men: Do You Pray To Marry Someone Like Your Father/ Mother? Be Honest by revson: 9:40pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
Yes! Even at gun point. I still would walk down the aisle with someone that shares the same character and attributes as my mother. She is caring, strong, and, above all, hospitable sometimes to a fault. She would deny herself the pleasures of life just to see her kid stand tall. I would normally not comment on Nairaland, but this got to me. I guess it's just my way of saying, I love this woman in particular. My dad, I love him but wouldn't want to grow into his shoes. 1 Like |

Good morning Guys, Special shout out to those of us doing our verification today, including my humble self. One thing I have learnt from writing and acing the aptitude tests of several blue chip companies is "don't be intimidated by anyone who seems to writing without pauses" This is particularly important during the essay/letter/article/report writing session. An instance that readily jump at me was the FBN Merchant Bank Assessment Centre where those of us that made it to that stage had awesome profiles, ranging from internships at Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Big Four accounting firms, McKinsey, Best Graduating Students, Valedictorian, etc. At the end of the day, a good number of them didn't get the offer. So, Guys, go into that room and do your thing! Not by might, Oluwa is involved. Once again, success padi mi. 2 Likes |

mzhorlah: Hi Sister, Trust this meets you well, as I don't intend to put you on the spot. It is "corpses" but 'Corps Member(s)'. I know it is an informal gathering and nobody care about grammatical accuracy, but it's more of you developing a good brand image of yourself, as you mayn't know who is taking note of your post. Again, no hard feelings but my way of adding value to you. I really hope you interpret my message with a similar lens. See at the top sister like no other! 2 Likes |

My fellow stream 2 people, I don't have anything to type but to just greet una. OK just kidding, let me play the devil's advocate here. Let assume we are posted anytime soon, getting PPA might be an issue given the fact most steam 1 Corp Members were rejected in their respective PPAs. Take for example, I intern in one of the big four and 7 persons were posted there, and only 3 were accepted. The takeaway from this conversation, for those working their posting to a particular region especially the economic hubs in Nigeria, please reach out to your contacts persons in the companies you intend to serve to at least secure your slot. Good evening guys, I was super excited when I saw this thread. By way of introduction, I am a serving Corp Member. First, I want to wish you all success even as you get close to your aspirations (5B). Regarding the two firms, here is what I think differentiate them. 1. Culture- PwC's culture especially in tax is very supportive. 2. KPMG practice has gotten to a mature stage thus promotion is relatively slower however, it is still an individual experience especially if you are performer. I should however add that they are both great firms to be haven had a first hand experience of both. Lest I forget, success as you expect that congratulatory mail! Please wish me well as I start preparation for next year's GTP. Regards Caveat: it just an opinion and I believe those in the system can speak to this better so I clear the floor for my boss "Realadonye" 3 Likes |
