Christianity EtcParable About The Kingdom Of Heaven by rexben(op): 1:46pm On Jun 07, 2017
The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who wants to test the paternity of a child(whether the child is his biological son or not).
So, he created a new world different and far from his world. He also provided everything he needs to be comfortable and be independent. He then placed this child in this new world.
Here is the paternity test: If the child is actually his son, he'll be homesick, uncomfortable in this new world because he can't live without his father.
If the child is not his son, he'll be happy and comfortable in this new world. He'll explore this world thereby making this new world more comfortable i.e making it a better place.
If you're God's child you'll ve homesick and uncomfortable in this world

Do trousers make women smarter?
Nah.
I witnessed a race in Liberation stadium Rivers State,
A lady in pleated skirts outran the trouser women convincingly and won the race convincingly.

Does nature support a woman's use of trousers?
Nah.
1 Corinthians 11
14 DOTH NOT EVEN NATURE ITSELF TEACH YOU..

On two different occasions, two trouser ladies had to pee by fire by force close to where I was,
Their bottoms were completely out.

Do trouser women excel in grace than others?
Nah.
Their congregations are seldom taught sound holiness; which leaves them vulnerable to carnality and worldliness.

Are trousers wearing women more intelligent?
Neither in fact or fiction. I've never read that it tricks the brain into doing smart things. No amount of make up increases one's IQ.

Do trouser women show more love?
Only a pure heart can confidently love;
Only a heart free from worldliness can express unselfish love. And only that heart can sincerely warn others of impending hell.

Do trouser women believe in Christian perfection?
It's the opposite rather. They're not fit to practice total freedom from sin because of the clog in their consciences. They can be very religious, no doubt.

Will they go to heaven?
Nah. They're seductive. Heaven is for those whose intents and works proceed from a pure heart; whose grace excels in sanctification and pureness of love.

Do I love trouser women?
I can't marry one,
They're spiritually, psychologically and naturally wrong. It's going to be an unequal yoke.

Romans 2
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, DO BY NATURE the things contained in the law..
You just confidently said rubbish. Why are you one sided? If women should do away with trousers, they should equally do away with skirts.
The bible said Aaron wore skirt.
Should I say you're primitive or you lack knowledge. I'm quite sure you're a parrot of your pastor

Christianity EtcRe: If Jesus Christ Is God Why Is He Called God's Begotten Son by rexben(m): 1:54pm On Dec 11, 2016
Berlynn:

a lot of us believe in this concept that Jesus is the son of God why some thinks Jesus is God..

Was Jesus God? If so, to whom did he pray tp? Who resurrected him? Are you saying he did not really die?

Answer
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

The above clearly shows Jesus is the Word made flesh. That He is God incarnate. Then we have:

Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. (John 14:9-14:20)

The above passage clearly tells us that the Son dwells in the Father, and the Father in the Son, that is they are ONE Jesus is the father the son and the holy spirit!

To whom did Jesus pray to?

Jesus prayed to His Heavenly Father of course. One person to another, yet the same deity. This is obviously very difficult, perhaps even impossible, to fully comprehend for the human mind, though. However, one must bear in mind that God is infinitely much more than we can possibly understand. God is infinite, and we mortals are merely finite. There is no ratio between the finite and the infinite, and as such the two are beyond comparison. In the passage I quoted above from John 14, Jesus asks Philip to believe that he is in the Father and that the Father is in him. He asks him to have faith in this truth, and therefore we should not reject it, even if we cannot understand it.

[/color]
Jesus is not God, He's simply the son of God. Don't mind Christians jare.
Jesus said "He came from the Father", "what He sees the father do I do", "I come to you father".

Let us hear what the New Testament says about being under the Old Testament Law:

Matthew 11:13 law prophesied till John,
Luke 16:16 law and prophets until John then gospel of the kingdom,
Matthew 22:37 Love God with all your heart with all your soul etc-love your neighbor-these two ARE the whole law and prophets,
John 1:17 law through Moses Grace and truth through Jesus,
John 7:23 circumcision a must to keep the law,
Acts 13:39 not justified by law,
Acts 15:5-20 observe law? Saved through faith,
Acts 18:13 these men want us to worship contrary to the law,
Acts 21:21 you teach to forsake Moses,
Romans 3:19 want the law says it says to those who are under the law, Romans 3:21 apart from the law is righteousness manifested,
Romans 3:27 the law of faith,
Romans 3:28 saved by faith apart from the law,
Romans 4:1-16 faith not law,
Romans 6:14 we are not under the law but under Grace,
Romans 7:4 we are dead to the law,
Romans 7:6 we are released from the law,
Romans 8:3-4 the law is fulfilled,
Romans 10:4 Christ is the end of the law,
Romans 13:8, 10 love fulfills the law,
1st Corinthians 9:20 not being under the law,
Galatians 2:16 we are not justified by the law,
Galatians 2:21 if righteousness is through the law Christ died in vain, Galatians 3:2 does the spirit comes by the law or faith,
Galatians 3:5 are miracles by law?,
Galatians 3:10 if you're under the law your under a curse,
Galatians 3:11 were not justified by law,
Galatians 3:13 we are redeemed from a curse,
Galatians 3:17-29 not by law but by faith we are linked to Abraham's blessings,
Galatians 5:3-4 we are severed from Christ if we keep the law,
Galatians 5:14 law fulfilled by love,
Galatians 5:18 we are led by the spirit thus not under the law,
Galatians 6:2 law of Christ,
Philippines 3:9 we are made right by faith not by law,
1st Timothy 1:9 law is not for righteous,
Hebrew 7:12 priesthood has changed and is necessary to change the law,
Hebrew 7:28 after the law comes the son,
Hebrew 8:6 we're under a better covenant,
Hebrew's 8:7 after the first; there is the second,
Hebrew's 8:13 the 1st has become obsolete and is ready to disappear,
Hebrews 9-10 describes the first being the law and the second being faith

Practical benefits to the church are that if every Christian tithed the church would have all the money needed to carry out the great commission. At least human reason would indicate so. Is it possible that 10 %, instead of being an answer to the church's money needs, could become a limit for many? How many times has a 10 % law cut off giving? If you're told to follow an outside law then you tend not to hear the inward witness. How many people could give 20, 30, 40 % of their income but religion has made it hard for them to hear that. "Hearing of faith" (Gal.3:2) 2 Corinthians 13:5 "test yourself to see if you're in faith."

Did tithing become part of the new covenant?

If so God decided to hide it from Paul and the other New Testament writer's. No matter how hard you try, you have to use Old Testament covenant to teach it. Some say tithing was before the law, part of the law and in force now also. Where is the New Testament Scripture for this? Circumcision was before the law (Genesis 17:24), part of the law, but is it in effect now? Some of the New Testament apostles tried to maintain it (Acts 15:5-11; Galatians 2:11) but Paul would have none of it. Hebrews talks about Abraham giving a tithe to Melchizedek but the same passage says there was a change in the law Hebrews 7:12. Hebrews 8:13 and 9:1 talks about the "first covenant with regulations (tithing is a regulation of the law) made obsolete (tithing was made obsolete)." Hebrews 10:9 "takes away first (tithing was part of the first) to establish second (tithing is not part of the second)" Hebrews 10:16 "writes law on heart and mind (God never wrote tithing on my heart or mind)"

The Melchizedek argument

Some have said that Melchizedek was Christ. So if Abraham gave Melchizedek a tithe then Jesus should receive tithes today. This is an interesting theory with no scriptural basis. The problem with this premise is that Jesus was not a man back then thus not Melchizedek and Jesus' ministry as a high priest, after the order of Melchizedek, is a heavenly one not an earthly one.
You'll be making a grievous error by comparing Jesus with Melchizedek. TITHE is a system to exploit people in a "godly" way

Christianity EtcCipher Of Estimating Number Of Saved Souls by rexben(op): 1:24pm On Dec 11, 2016
How many souls were saved?
At least 500 souls were saved during our last annual convention.
Hallelujah! 5 souls were saved during the service today, the ministration was powerful.
I wonder the yardstick or criteria used to estimate or cipher the number of souls that was saved.
Is it by the number of people that fell under the 'anointing' or spoke in unknown tongues or cried bitterly with a loud voice or what? All these are just gymnastics.
Continuous obedience to Jesus teachings only will save you.
31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples; 32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48

Above all, Jesus said "But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved".

Act of the apostles 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul(Paul) for the work where unto I have CALLED them.

@Rexben; You are simply exciting. Without fear of contractions, I must say that majority of Christians have missed it. They worship Paul during church services and ignore Jesus. They quote from Pauline letters more profusely and seldom quote the words of Jesus as recorded in the synoptic gospels.

Where there is conflict between Jesus position and Paul position, which is the case in most cases, the later is adopted. Christians do not read and are too close minded to note that every letter of Paul contradicts the words of Jesus in the synoptic gospels.

Christian practices today is completely anti-Jesus. They worship Jesus with their mouths but their hearts are far from him.

Christians cherry pick and end up with confusion, mixing texts from both old and New Testaments based on convenience and driven by personal aggrandisement.

I delivered a short sermon to a group of adult christians recently from Daniel 11:32 which talks about knowing your God. By the time I stopped after 10 minutes, their reactions was that of a group of people hungry for the truth and tired of flaterries common to the church today. It was clear that most Christians including those contributing on this forum do not even know the name of the God they serve.

It's time Christians seek and follow Jesus and the away from Pauline doctrines and teaching.

Oga... Then who are the prophets, the apostles and the evangelist?

Don't be ignorant of the word of God. The way you see things or think things are not the ways God think or see things.

Isaiah 55: 8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The scripture you quoted is talking about God calling us to salvation and not leadership. God can't call everybody to ministry but salvation , reconciliation and repentance.

God called Jeremiah to prophetic MINISTRY . Before he formed him in his mother's womb, he knew him, sanctified him ,set him apart and ordained him a prophet to the nations. That same God called the apostles including paul and he's still calling his chosen ones to leadership/Ministry.
Paul is the person calling people into ministry while God is calling people unto salvation.
What's the essence of ministering gifts when there's the Holy Spirit who can teach, direct, help, comfort, shepherd thru Jesus etc.
Once again, God's not calling people to ministry

People have generalized almost every hard thing (especially relating to Jesus) as being impossible.

Impossible and hard should not be used interchangeably because they don't absolutely mean the same thing.

It is impossible means it is impossible but when it is hard, it means it is hard but possible.

It is hard but not impossible to be perfect.

It is hard but not impossible to live without sin.

It is hard but not impossible to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

It is hard but not impossible to do away with lies even 'white lies'.

It is hard but not impossible to forsake all and follow Jesus.

It is hard but not impossible to hate ones life in this world.

It is hard but not impossible to call no man on earth father.

33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. 40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
