The Rivers State Ministry of Education has listed the following Centres for The Training and Induction of Newly Recruited Teachers as follows;

1-Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta.

2-Girl Secondary School Orominike.

3-Girls Secondary School Rumueme.

4-Seashell Model Primary School.

Meanwhile,during an Hour Interview on Radio Rivers Fm Stereo,The Permanent Secreatary Ministry of Education Mr furum said that the Education System in Rivers State is now 1,6,3,3,4.

1-Pre-primary.
6-Primary Classes,
3-Junior Secondary,
3-Senior Secondary.
4-University.

He also said that the induction process would be in four phases with each phase lasting a week.
He also said that each week,about 3500 Teachers would be inducted and that on the Second week 3500
Teacher would also be inducted and Trained.

He said it will continue that way till 13000 recruited Teachers are inducted and trained on or before 6th of September. He said that the names for each batch to be inducted would be on the website by Monday.

On the issue of promotion into each of the systems. He said that each change in any of the section is not Automatic and that there are exams that would be set to determine the legible ones.

He equally said that there is no First School Leaving Certificate Examination anymore.and that the first external exams students will take now is the Junior School Certificate Examination.

He also said that from September,the quality assurance group would supervise various schools in River State and that its not going to be Business as usual.

Furthermore,he said the major part of the induction would be on ethics and value.

On the issue of transparency during the recruitment of the 13,000 Teachers,
He also said that Jamb Headquarters conducted the examinations, while pricewater house corpers did the interview and shotlisting of names.

The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board is pleased to publish the list of candidates who participated in the recent registration/documentation of prospective teachers.

On the evidence of the documents submitted by candidates, some have been cleared while others have been queried or rejected.

Rivers State Government set to train teachers for primary, secondary schools

Date: July 4, 2013

Rivers state Government says it will formally induct over 13,000 teachers that were recently recruited into the state’s Education sector on 27th July, 2013.

The Permanent Secretary of the Rivers state Ministry of Health, Richard Ofuru made this available to journalists in Port Harcourt.

Ofuru said the teachers will be trained to become certified classroom teachers after a month of concise orientation programme to be handled by professionals from tertiary institutions in the state.

According to him,”Already we have a work plan. By 27th July, the induction programme will commence and after the one month induction programme, they should be able to go to school to teach.



For those who don’t have teaching qualification, they will go through certified training at the University of Education, University of Port Harcourt and the Rivers state University of Science and Technology. That is the way we have structured it.”

He also debunked claims that those who failed the aptitude test will be considered. He corrected the wrong notion some applicants have about the complainant’s desk.

“It is not true. We had enough candidates for the interview. Not everybody that was interviewed will get the job. People are mistaking the corporate desk. The corporate desk was majorly for those who said my name is in the list, but my exam number was different. I have a Bachelors degree, but they created NCE for me,”he said.

The Rivers state Ministry of Education had earlier in the year recruited some teachers to be engaged in the newly constructed schools (primary and secondary) built by the Rivers state government.

This really sounds very funny,are they increasing it to twenty thousand Teachers. Beloved osarog,No other list would be out.The recruitment is done with and concluded.

Guess the Training wouldn't be upto 2Months again.Based on what is happening.No date fixed yet for the trainning,Verification still ongoing and appointment letter yet to be issued. This is government work indeed

Go to UPTH they will issue you the medical certificate without conducting any test on you.Just go to the Dental section the first office by the right.But u will have your 3k or 4k ready. Its done withing 10mins
