What can one make out of this? That two rich oil-producing states cannot boast of good major roads. Is it that the barber does not know how to trim hair or that the razor blade is not sharp? I love ur post but kindly remove Akwa Ibom from there, if u must know the fact is the section on that road which is Bad belongs to abia state and cross river respectively. From the boundary that belongs to Akwa Ibom on that road is very gud. U don't expect Akwa Ibom to use its funds to repair another state road na. Ikwano and odupani/ akanpa junction are not Akwa Ibom

Oga from this ur post u should be able to point out the problems, now since u want clarification which I guess u never took out time to get I will tell u. For the onitsha- enugu road the major problem there is erosion and if u must tackle it u must fight it from the source which the govt is pumping billions to do in obj regime when that road was done they didn't take into consideration that erosion will be a problem so it was not attacked. Secondly the aba ik road and the umahia ik road the problem there is the governor of abia cos if u go into the state u will find out that roads where not even constructed let alone projects his governance was filled with wide spread propaganda. The governor of akwa ibom Akpabio even approached him since the federal had said if there is any federal road that needs attention the state should attend to it and send a bill to the federal which most states did and they got paid. That section u see there is abia state and not Akwa Ibom. All these u can verify if u actually investigate.

These roads I am going to unveil thus, lead directly to my State from other parts of the contra, depending on the route one chooses to ply...But unfortunately the roads are in a very bad and unmotorable state...

There is no way one will pass thru these roads without dropping and heaping curses on the past governments, especially goodLUCK EBELE Azikiwe Jonathan, our adopted Son, in whom we hugely supported and still being regarded as our best...

Boss pls get ur facts right like I said in my last post, now u say if Lagos had the same 13% oil money like the producing states it would have gone far' are u aware that Lagos was one the capital of the country and like Abuja and calabar the money of the country was used to develop it. Now the money that comes into Lagos is being used for maintenance and not for real infrastructural development like in other states. Like I said get ur facts right.

The only one I'm aware of is the Police service commission consisting of senior retired officers.

On the issue of one being trained in war and one trained to deal with people. Discipline does take your profession into consideration. It is line audit system. There's an exam they call CISA (Certified Institute of System Auditors) now you don't necessarily have to be a trained accountant before you can do the exam. A military police is like the Chief whip of the house. They're there to ensure rules and regulations of the force are strictly adhered to. Not to fight a war.

Military police is not to discipline you because you failed to carry out a mission. They are there to make sure your conduct is in line with the rules and regulations of the force.

The reason I called for a Military Police is because of their disciplined background. If you draft people from the present police force to monitor their activities, it will still amount to the same thing. Its like telling a thief to watch over another thief.

I support you submission on their posting and reposting thing but who says the same thing is not in place and the have found a way around it.

Now the composition of the provost are serving officers and their job is to checkmate the excesses of the policemen within the lower cadre while the job of the police service commission is to checkmate the excesses of the higher cadre. U talked about using a thief to checkmate a thief well as a matter of information people in the military police are also taken from among the ordinary officers the thing is that they have special training and the remain as military police till they retire but in the police they are not trained and also they don't remain there till they retire that is why u will see some of them on the streets with the regular police the rot has eaten deep the only way to succeed is by having wat tafa balogun created in his time as the igp and that is the ig monitoring unit which comes from Abuja without the knowledge of the commissioner of police in the state and make arrest and transfer the case to Abuja on acts of indiscipline and corruption. At that time some commissioners also instituted their own units cos the more cases they report from ur state or formation it gives u a bad record and spoils ur file thereby putting u up for early retirement. I only pray the New igp will go back to such standard. The era of operation fire for fire policemen wey no get biz to dey road no dey road.

In the custom, we have the Custom Police
In the immigration, we have the Immigration Police in

All Nigerian forces has their police that ensure discipline within the rank and file of its force. Only the Nigerian Police Force(NPF) has none. Instead they have the Police Service Commission where old retired police officers are given the opportunity to continue their stealing instead of enforcing discipline.

We need total overhauling of our police force.

Let there be a set of Military men drafted from the Military Police that will be in charge of monitoring and discipline of police officers.

Presently they're just a bunch of rudderless men.

I think u should do ur findings first before u comment. Now the police have wat is known as a provost unit which do the same work as the police unit in other forces. Now if u r of the opinion of taking one trained in the Act of war to checkmate those trained in the act of peace then u r doing urself more harm Dan gud. Festac police station is in need of a massive overhaul becos u find officers that have been there for more than 10yrs and r not ready to transfer becos of wat they gain there, why there is so much discipline in the military is that for every posting its a minimum of 6months and max of 2yrs so u don't get too comfortable in a location if that alone can be introduced and enforced in other force it will go a long way. Now I blame the gentleman that drove the car becos in my own understanding when 2 people r fighting a neutral person separates now he drove to where he saw military people why then was he scared? Except he has something to hide.

I'm so suprise seeing too many comments in opposition to this all important idea. Decentralization of Nigerian Police Force will help in a greater way in ensuring proper security of lives and properties in this nation. I think,this is one of the resolutions of the recently concluded National Conference.

Well I see nothing Bad in decentralization of the police but like Nigerians that we have always been we are so quick to start a project without calculating the cost. Have u considered that some states won't have the money to pay police men or even equip them, we should be talking abt, fighting for resource control first before even talking abt the TSA or even decentralization of the police. Now for u to give the law makers right to appoint or fire service chiefs I must say is the worst thing that will ever happen to any country's security cos without even informing the presidency they can fire or hire if they feel there is a romance they don't like btw the president and service chief which is a bad omen to security in the country cos the security meetings they normally have can't hold if the lawmakers are not represented and any quick decision they make have to go through the lawmakers for approval. Fight for resource control first before anything.

boss that's just my mind set here. I just hope this government in its bid for change will not chase away all foreign firms and crumble this economy more than it is now. But come to think of it if eventually this companies pay all these fines are they aware that the resultant effect if retrenchment of workers thereby increasing the number of unemployed.
